As for specific plot details, I want to start things off with a bang. Writers are often fond of beginning with dark, cool prologues and epic battles; why not put our heroes square in the middle? And they don't even have to be involved in the same way - one could be a soldier enduring the onslaught, one could be a general sweating over his next move, another could be a civilian caught in the crossfire. One way or another, our heroes should be introduced in a fantastic opening battle to get our blood pumping.

I'd imagine that the battle would be a pyrrhic one so that the heroes would be forced to work together to survive the aftermath. What happens after that is up to you! ;)

I will only say that he sides with the protagonists. ;)

I'm toying with removing him as an NPC and reworking him as my personal character. He wouldn't be king as a PC, though.

There is a knight guild call The Dragon Wings, they are the most powerful knights in Dragan Empire who are heroes that protect the kingdom. It have 6 ranking system

1. Apprentice

2. Junior Dragon

3. Dragon

4. Senior Dragon

5. Head Dragon

6. High Dragon

Oh?I'm curious on what role he will play. Maybe there is a king who's good at the beginning, but after all this nonsense is over he'll become evil or something?

Also, when I make the make the thread, what should I but for the intro? I can make little intro right quick and see if it's ok with you guys

Alexander is more than just "good" or "evil." He's a complicated man. I'll be able to provide a bit more insight on his motivations in a full-on character sheet.

Caradras will rule the icy wasteland to the north. I imagine us starting during his invasion of the Midlands, when everyone's forces are at their strongest.

Who's down for some tabletop elements? Normally I prefer freeform RP, but this is more of a battle-focused story, so I think a balanced combat resolution system would be useful here. Maybe something loosely based on DnD.

I'm working on an intro for it too. Try listening to some music done by Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix; their orchestra Two Steps From Hell does some amazing crazy bombastic themes that'll have your intro write itself in no time flat.

The Faraway Land: Path of Heroes

The Kingdom of Man has conquered the world at last. Elves, orcs, dwarves, all races are brought under the thumb of human overlords. And the domination is miserable. All non-human races have been either killed or made slaves, and the few that are allowed their freedom are burdened with high tribute.

Then, the Guardian appeared.

The twelve ancient Guardians were long thought dead. Once upon a time, they'd saved the world from the dark hordes, but one by one they were hunted down and destroyed by those they sought to protect. Only one of them survived, the fire dragon Caradras. With his near-divine powers and miraculous strength, he rallied most of the surviving non-humans to his side and began a long, bloody campaign of revenge.

What part will you play? Are you the human, disenchanted with the Kingdom and yearning to set things right? Are you a monster, despised and abused, who fights for freedom and the right to live? Whichever path you take, beware, for not all that seems noble is true.

Nah, the dragon should be the antagonist.

We'll fight for the humans. Not because they're good, kind, decent things, but because it's the right thing to do. Because they don't all deserve what their enemies wish upon them.

Intro Proposal

The King stood upon the balcony, looking on as the dragon destroyed his forces. It was the same dragon he once looked up to, the same one he'd poured out his heart and soul to, the same one who now sought to kill him. How had it come to this? Why must he slay his only true friend in the world, the only creature he'd ever loved and trusted with his life?

I've been a fool, he thought to himself.

Fliers on unicorn pegasi and griffins tangled in the sky with enemy wyvern riders for aerial supremacy. The confused winds pushed and tugged as battlemages slung their deadly elemental bolts at the foreign hordes. The earth shuddered with the impacts. Men and beasts spilt their blood by the thousands upon the green. Every one of them breathed his last so that millions more could breathe again.

On the other side of the field, the great dragon lifted up his head and beheld the King, the only human he'd ever called 'son.' Many times he'd reached out to the man, calling for reconciliation even while the sting of betrayal hung in the air. But the young king wouldn't, couldn't listen.

I've been a fool, the dragon thought to himself.

Legions of orcs threw themselves at the human lines. Thousands of loyal soldiers cried out and silenced, never to be heard again. Their bodies would be discarded without ceremony, and every memory of their existence would be wiped from the common memory. Veterans would sing songs and write poems of how many brave orcs they murdered while widows and orphans wept in the streets.

But I will remember them.

The dragon stepped out to greet the battle.

I will remember, and I will avenge.
