When Chuck got back up, a look of shock came on his face and he checked his phone. "As I thought, it is that day again... I need to call my parents. I'll catch up with you guys later!" he said, dialing up his parents.
"Oh, hey guys." Chuck said, noticing his friends now. "I'd hoped to avoid you guys seeing me like this. Today is the anniversary of my older brother's death. Well, I say death, but it's really disappearance. It's juet, after 10 years, people just kinda assumed he was dead."
"That doesn't surprise me," replied Shiranui, "Even the law would declare someone legally dead if they were missing for a certain period of time. Besides, if you want to know if he really is dead you can ask certain Pokémon." He put his Pokémon in to heal.
"We all took the news pretty hard. Heck, it was the whole reason we moved to Kalos in the first place, they wanted to get away from the temple my brother researched at the start of his career." Chuck said with a sigh. "He'd always been fascinated by the mythologies of this world, it was his calling."
"The Regigigas temple in Snowpoint City, my original hometown." Chuck said. "That was where Tru got his start as a Pokémon Researcher. Then he began exploring the different regions, learning the legends and exploring ruins, temples, and excavation sites, as well as studying under the professors of each region. It was his goal to uncover every legend of this world and learn as much as he could about them. He would have loved to meet you guys, and all the Pokémon you've collected, since he did research on all of them. The last we heard of him, today 10 years ago, he was headed for a region known as Galar, to look into a possible pair of legends dealing with Pokémon seemingly based off a sword and a shield, potentially of the lupine variety. However, it was then that we lost contact with him. Even the International Police looked into it and couldn't find anything. It's like he just vanished into thin air."
"Well, few people would have heard of this Galar region before the Pokémon League started tweeting about the place," replied Shiranui, "So far the only things they said about the place apart from what you mentioned were its proximity to the Kalos region and the starters available there."
"Yeah, it was newly discovered when he'd hopped on the ship there, wanting to be the first to discover and learn about their legends." he said. "The last we'd heard is that he'd found some documents referring to the Sword and Shield Pokémon of Galar legend, and went to investigate further. Then we lost contact with him. I've been hoping to get stronger and become a better trainer so one day I can go to this Galar region and maybe find some clue as to what happened to him myself, but I know I'm not strong enough yet."
