@TheForgottenArc per your post, how long have they been walking? twiggy was holding on for how long? because i have no reference for time lol. maybe in the future you can mention something like "Twiggy had been pulling and tugging at his shirt for at least an hour" or something. just helps make it easier for me to make my next post!

maybe they've been walking for like 3 hours? i think that's a reasonable time to get tired by.

@TheForgottenArc first I want to say I appreciate your post. However, i just want to caution you against controlling other people's characters.

Typically it is good rp practice to ask someone beforehand c: or you can pitch an idea "HEY is it okay if Dan trips over torchic and maybe torchic can get mad and try to attack Dan?"

Then the person you are responding with would respond accordingly. And you guys would plan out your actions accordingly. It can go anyway but I guess my main point is that it's a good idea to ask first. c:

Case in point, you mention Hawka charges Dan. I don't want to auto-hit, that's when you say an attack connects without the other rp'er permission. So can I say that Hawka bumped her head against Dan's?

So after reading your posts, I changed the game time in the 1st IC post. Four hours have passed correct? If so, that puts you at 3:30.

Also, I saw what prettydrops was saying. I'm glad you already had the conversation about controlling other people's characters. I second all of that.

That being said, you two can control my characters (such as the professor and the Pokedex) as long as you're being true to their established personalities and not making any game changing posts. Edit: This does not apply to the traveler. He's only there to pass by the action and continue on his way.

@Balthazar007so... I'm wondering about how you want us to structure the language acquisition of pokemon. My headcannon from the show and games is that pokemon can learn to understand humans quite well, but not the other way around. I feel like depending on the exposure pokemon have had, they can understand humans more or less. so for example, i thought since the starters were bred and in labs they'd have some more training from aides and be better accustomed to human speech. i would think that wild pokemon would have difficulty understanding humans, unless they've been exposed to humans previous. i also think urban pokemon in cities and such would probably have much better understanding of human speech. I was going back through the posts and noticed the professor used hand symbols with Hawka... should indigo use those hand signals in his posts as well? I could imply somewhere that the professor maybe uploaded some kind of communication guide or something in their pokedexes...?

Just trying to stay consistent with posts and world building! little stuff like this can cause plotholes and confusion from my end if I'm not careful xD

I had the professor using sign language because those Pokemon are still very young, similar to how babies can understand and communicate through simple sign language before they can speak.

Pokemon in this RP, all have a human level intelligence. Only, they're brains stop maturing at about teenager level inelligence (unless the Pokemon is known to be smart, such as most psychic types.)

So as far as understanding human speech, they can all learn, just some faster than others. Obviously they can't speak back though, as they don't have the right vocal cord set up. (Again, this doesn't include psychic types that can communicate through telepathy.)

In the end, I just ask that you use your best judgement.

If you look at the picture you will see that the road is more of a "trail" in the woods. You're not out of the forest yet, your just not in among the bushes and brush. That's how I interpreted his post.

Hey you two. I made a minor mistake. Patrat weren't supposed to be the common Pokemon in the Breezy forest. It was supposed to be Kricketot. I'm not asking ya'll to change your posts at all, because that would be a hassle, but would you mind leaving the Patrats behind in favor of finding Kricketot in the area?
