Okay, so I just happened to have (mostly) finished a character who'd fit right into this. @Double, you might recognize him.

I have a question, though; So we're not going off KH's canon, but is there any possibility such characters could appear in this plot?

Most Canon KH Characters have an Original Character Counterpart, sadly.

That said, people who come from legit Alternate Histories like Big Hero 6 and Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within + Final Fantasy Unlimited (eww!) might appear.

Okay I'm still kinda wrapping my head around the ideas of the background story but I'd be interested in getting in on this.

If you'll have me anyway.

Noted. Still trying to decide on something. I actually have a trio of characters that would fit into this. But, for the purposes of this rp, I'll start with one of them, while the other two are scattered in the destination world (WWII might as well be gift wrapped with a bow for one of them).

Also, are we meant to drive the characters completely by ourselves, or will you want to include stuff in the story and setting for characters. Like how a DM would include certain plot hooks for a player's character?

Mostly the former, but I reserve the right to include plot hooks as needed for the story. Two Interlude Worlds are left blank just in case a player wants a world relevant to their character. I might also replace the third Interlude world I wrote up.

Edited out one of the Interlude Worlds to give more room for a world from a player's backstory!

WIP at the moment I'm putting down what I have right now. I don't want to lose it. Work is heavy right now and I'm worried I'll lose this idea if I don't put it down somewhere.

Not sure about this, as it might contradict some of Kingdom Hearts' cosmology, as seen in this video:

Okay, so I'm still fine-tuning my ideas. But, in the meantime, I'll share what I have in mind thus far to make sure it's kosher:

I have a group of youngsters who will be involved in fighting Heartless, one way or another. However, the group ends up being scattered across the different settings. So, my character's goal is to locate those friends of his. I know I want my character to be a keyblade wielder, and possibly one of the others. But, I'm not sure about the rest of them.

I see. Make sure to remember that only a Keyblade can defeat Heartless permanently, btw - other weapons merely destroy their bodies, which reform elsewhere.

Hmm, alright maybe this will be more suitable @Letter Bee

Name:
Yanata

Bio:
Between the layers of the Earth lies the realm known only as Asphodel. The subterranean world comprises the hollow center of the planet, containing a magical core, called the Sol Noctis, a strange radiating body that provides heat and energy to center of the world.

Long ago in ancient times, a small group of humanity taking refuge in a great cave system wandered deep into the great tunnels bridging the two surfaces, becoming separated from humanity for the next few thousand years, forming their own distinct species and societies.

They would be isolated until human mining activities broke through the surface and discovered the planes of Asphodel. While attempting to harvest the resources of this alien world, the humans came in contact with their long lost cousins, beings they termed as fiends.

The war between Humans and Fiends have been waging war for centuries, with humans invading Asphodel and Fiends invading the Surface, now undergoing an uneasy truce between species.

Yanata is a fiend born and raised in the area of Gallafa, where the first humans reached Asphodel. Yanata came to find that the truce between human and friend is about to be broken by warmongers who seek revenge and profit from the battle. Yanata, a private investigator, working to uncover the mysterious murder of a young fiend man seemingly using unknown weapons, and uncover the truth about his murder lest it spark another war between species.

In fighting against the mysterious organization known as the Black Hand, she found the Hand had unleashed some kind monster as a weapon. Around this time, Yanata discovered the Keyblade and its power to slay these so called "Heartless".

Age: 33

Skills:
Fiends are physically much stronger than humans, being accustomed to the crushing pressure and gravity of Asphodel, and have a higher resistance to things such as magic as they are constantly exposed to the radiation of the Sol Noctis.

Like all fiends, Yanata posesses two antler like horns that act like insects antennae, being perceptive of small vibrations and increasing her hearing, and even being able to taste the air like a tongue.

As a private investigator, Yanata has a history of detecting motives in speech and being able to gauge the trustworthiness and truthfulness of those she speaks to. She has a knack for finding information and connecting the dots of mysteries.

As she has only just discovered the nature of magic and the Keyblade, she is very unskilled in both, for now dependent upon her natural strengths and skill in fighting.

Personality:
Yanata grew up during the last Great War between the Fiends and Humans, being displaced and relocated many times. She has a great dislike for violence and desires a peaceful solution whenever possible. She has a desire for Humans and Fiends to exist peacefully together, though she is slightly warry of humans. For the most part she is quiet and pensive, seeking to avoid conflict whenever possible.

World Sheet

Asphodel

The story of Asphodel begins long ago when ancient humans discovered a complicated tunnel system under the Ural Mountains 50,000 years ago. With the tribe that reaches the subterranean world of Asphodel becoming the first to set foot on a parallel world inside of a hollow earth.

Time moved on as per our timeline on the surface, with the human population in the subterranean Asphodel diverging into a sister species, the Fiends, with their gray skin, antler like horns, black and yellow eyes, and a far more tribal and agressive nature influenced by their exposure to the strange ans powerful lifesource of the planet, the Sol Noctis.

By the 1950s, humans had broken into Asphodel a second time, trying to wage war with the native fiends over their resources. The result was a series of devistating battles that crippled both worlds. As a result, a truce was called that currently is ongoing, resulting in a type of cold war.

Though in Asphodel, a shady organization known as the Black Hand seek to restart war with humanity and begin a Fiend take over of the surface world.

Okay, so my question should've been: Can I make each of my character's group a keyblade wielder? Or, are you looking to have a limited number of them?

The former, but if there are too many Keybladers, I'll put a stop to it.

I see... Okay, so in that case I need to focus on those characters I have whose movesets would actually include a keyblade, which would be my main, and two other characters. It would be lame if all of them were keybladers.
