You could do standard array, but how do you guys feel about point buy? It feels a little meh but it lets you customize your character a little more.

Yep or the 27 points to spend in like so:
8 = 0
9 = 1
10 = 2
11 = 3
12 = 4
13 = 5
14 = 7
15 = 9

I hated the point system to be honest lol, I had one player who loved the point system and always wanted to use it .

Angus Ironheart , human fighter born under the death moon, his mother was a barbarian queen who was captured by rival barbarian clan, and raped.
While with child (Angus) she managed to escape into the blizzard without being seen..she gave birth to Angus while on the run.
A band of elf hunters came across her frozen body, and wrapped in fur was a baby human, bluish in color, the elves believed him to be dead, but a sudden crying outburst quickly changed that, as they spoke the word "Cormang" which translates from elven to Heart of Iron.
He was raised with elves, taught their ways, but he was not like them nor looked like them, so he ran away to find himself, and he has been searching ever since then.
