The Roleplay
We are still recruiting wayward mercenaries!

Join the Fight against the oppressive Mage King!
ATOBAT is another run-of-the-mill roleplay taking place in a custom setting. Where I have stressed to make things unique is in the way that new characters can be sprinkled in to the story through narrative events rather than being dropped in mid-campaign. There have been numerous times where I have wanted to join roleplays several tens or hundreds of pages already into the plot and struggled to find my pace when dynamics have already been established between the other players. To circumvent that I work with each new player to incorporate them into towns/routes/events upcoming in the narrative. Usually this will involve a collab between me and the new player or I’d just reach out to lend a hand in crafting their introductory post via: answering questions, giving ideas, steering them in the right direction.
This roleplay will always remain open, and the door to leave will be the same. Plot-wise it would make sense for mercenaries to have their own aspirations that might not align with the rest of overall group. So if you lose the muse to participate, or something comes up where you know you’re not going to be able to be in the roleplay for an extended period of time?.. just let me know and we can have your character exit in the dark of night. But as I said before, the roleplay remains a revolving door so if things clear up and you want to bring your character back? There is no problem having the group happen upon those characters again. My primary reason for throwing out this interest check is that our group has just left their first city and are now on the road to head to the next one. There will be bumps on the road along the way; combat, camping, lore/worldbuilding stuff, but eventually they will be arriving at another hub of people. These are the best times to join in while the party is speaking with NPCs as they dig for information, encounter unexpected events, buy supplies, etc.
So this is an open invitation.
We are looking for writers who like to contribute to the lore of the world, want actual story arcs that are more than anime boss fight moments, and most importantly are willing to be flexible with whatever role they want to fulfill in the story. If you’re a forever DM for your 5e or Pathfinder group and have a character idea you want to try and fit into this setting, take a look at the thread and reach out to me here or on discord.
That’s it, thank you for reading!
