Liam walked around the corridor of the castle, his wings flowing gently behind him. Where was he? Liam groaned and stopped by one of the windows, looking outside. Everything looked so peaceful outside. He sighed and leaned against the wall, suddenly tired. It's not like it was hard to heal a gash like that. He'd dealt with worse before. His father had asked him to meet him out on the terrace after he'd finished healing this man. Of course, it was a warrior, an angel. He closed his eyes. Why couldn't he be out there? It was all fine and dandy serving the royals, but why couldn't he be out where it really mattered? Where he could really make a difference. He let out a long shuddering sigh, irritated. It was then that he felt someone walk by, someone he didn't recognize. He opened his eyes and saw a boy. He was Liam's height with short red hair.

"Excuse me, who are you?" He asked, his brows furrowed. The boy smiled warmly.

"I'm Luca, a new servant here. You are?" He replied. Liam nodded slowly, his thoughts confirmed.

"Ah, I'm Liam. Jared's son." Liam explained, his eyes flitting back to the window, towards the terrace.

"Oh. Well, it's nice to meet you Liam! I have some work I need to do, I'll see you around?" Luca said, a small smile on his face. Liam nodded and the boy was gone. He sighed and closed his eyes again. This was tiring.
Lynn sat on her small bed, her wrist in her hand. She turned her slave bracelet over in her hand, slowly. Sleg. He was nice enough... She let herself fall back onto the bed, a small sigh escaping her.

"You okay, dear?" She heard a soft voice call from behind her. Ms. Maggie. She smile and opened her eyes, looking up at Ms. Maggie.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just... thinking." Lynn explained and then got up, jumping up with forced enthusiasm.

"Thinking is dangerous. You know what that can do." Ms. Maggie explained, a worried look on her face. Lynn smiled and placed her hand on Ms. Maggie's shoulder.

"Don't worry. I'll be fine." She said before walking out of the room. She walked down the dark hallways towards the room where she'd be assigned. The room was hot, the furnaces generating more heat than they knew what to do with. She walked up behind a man named Fled, a demon and tapped him on the shoulder. Slowly, he looked back, his old eyes looking down at her.

"Ah, Lynn. Glad to see you. Guess it's time for me to take a break, eh?" He said, a small smile growing on his lips. Lynn nodded without a word, the clanging of the metal in the room too loud for her to speak. He nodded back and then left to go take everything off. Lynn slowly began putting on the equipment she needed. When she was done, she stood next to the hot furnace and began to work, shaping metal into sword.

"Stop that thief!"

The words hung in the air for a moment before people began to look around. Most were trying to figure out where the chaos had come from. While others were desperately trying to move out the burly guard's way. But there was one person who was slipping through the crowd, avoiding any collisions. She took a moment to glance behind her, to see the guard that was slowly gaining on her as the crowd parted like the seas.

Quickly she turned her attention forward, letting out a gasp as she dodged right to avoid smacks g into the pole. A horn pierced the air and she scampered across the street. The truck driver cursed as he passed, but the little thief paid him no mind. She smiled as she darted down an alleyways. Turning around, she listened to the noise of the city as she tossed the wallet up in the air and caught it again.

"That was almost too easy," Melody mused aloud as she turned to face the wall on her right. Mist seemed to engulf her as she walked forward, phasing through the wall.
Green eyes slid across the wall glancing at the clock upon the a wall. He found it hard to believe that only 5 minutes had passed since he had last checked. It was impossible. The young Prince usually enjoyed his studies, even after so many years there was always something to learn. But today, today he was bored.

"Prince Troy. If you've not going to pay attention, I see no reason why you should be here," the old man doned in blue robes stated as he tapped his pen against the book he held.

The Prince lifted his head before nodding, "Sorry, Sir John. I'll be aired to study on my own and come more prepared tomorrow." Then without missing a beat, he left the room. There probably wasn't much for him to do today, as much responsibility fell upon his older brothers. But at least he could takehis time to stroll around the palace.

Liam glanced out towards the Terrance. He let out a disgruntled groan and then stormed off. Father probably forgot their meeting altogether. It didn't really matter to Liam either way. He could be doing other things, like studying or practicing. A mischievous grin grew on his face. What about the sword room? Without missing a beat, he ran off towards the Sword Room, his robes flowing lightly behind him as he dashed about the palace. What he hadn't been expecting hit him the the face, and the chest and yeah. He fell to the floor with a loud thump.

Looking up, he saw Troy, sitting across from him, his eyes closed in pain. "Crap! Prince! I'm so sorry! I didn't see you..." He blurted out, feeling foolish. He probably shouldn't have been running through the palace. He stood up and held out for the prince, wanting to help him up. "Are you hurt?"
Lynn hit the bright red metal with her hammer, holding it steady with her other hand. She'd had a knack for metal work, her swords were Sleg's prized possessions. Or at least, that's what she'd been told. She couldn't see anything special about them, other than the fact that sometimes she would swear they had a soft purple glow to them. She blew a soft stream of air out of her mouth as she worked, whistling slightly. The demon next to her was working at his own station. Every few moments or so he would look over at her and the back at his own work, as if trying to copy her. They were all jealous of the fact that Sleg seemed to like her work more than the others. It wasn't like she was trying to be perfect, she just... tried. She let out a small sigh and then placed the metal back in the barrel of water, watching the steam.

She liked working down here. She liked looking at the lights of the furnaces. It was as if they were alive and breathing, churning fire. She almost jumped when she felt a tap on her right shoulder. Turning, she saw the next person that was supposed to take her place. Had it already been that long? It hadn't felt like it. She blinked and looked down, not really wanting to leave. They rolled their eyes and pushed her out of the way with a small shove. She sighed and walked out, heading for the upper levels. Maybe she could ask to go out to the market today. She smiled and walked up to Sleg's room. She knocked, a small 'knock, knock, knock' before walking in. "Hey Sleg." She said with a small wave.

"Lynn. What is it?" He said, a smile on his face as he turned to face her.

"I was... wondering if I could take a trip to the market." She asked, walking over to sit on his bed. He let out a sigh and turned to face her.

"I... I guess. Just take Ms. Maggie with you. I actually need some supplies and you're rather good at bartering." He told her and then turned back to get a piece of paper. He came back and wrote down the things he needed before handing them over to her. As she waited, she looked around Sleg's room. It was nice and walk, albeit a bit dark. She'd never liked the dark, preferring lit places. She didn't always need open air, but she need light, she needed warmth. The warmth of Sleg's hearth was burning against her back, almost soothingly. She smiled as Sleg handed her the paper.

"I'll get these for you and be back shortly." She told him, running out the door.

"Sure you will." He replied, out of range of her hearing. She ran, as fast as she could down to the bedrooms, looking for Ms. Maggie.

"Maggie! Maggie!" She yelled, walking around briskly.

"I'm here, child. Calm down. What is it?" Maggie replied, coming out from one of the supply rooms.

"We need to go to the market to get supplies." Lynn explained, hardly able to keep still.

"Okay. Let's get going then." Maggie replied with a small sigh as she walked towards the door. They walked up to the surface. Sleg's business was underneath his store, where slaves could be bought and sold. The attendant was still up there, sitting by the desk, looking quite bored. Lynn waved at him and he waved back lazily. It was then that a girl came through the wall. Lynn blinked, looking at her. she'd walked right through the solid wall. A demon? Shouldn't she be a slave...?

There was always one problem with wandering through walls. And as she met eyes with one of the people inside the building, Melody was reminded of that one problem. There were only so many ways that she could handle this situation. The first was to kill them, they were witnesses, but that was a bit extreme. The second was to bribe them to shut their mouths and hope that they were silent until the guards were no longer around. The third was that she could pretend that it was normal.

Melody went with the last option. “Well, hello there. I don’t think I’ve seen you around before,” she spoke cheerfully as she walked closer to the girl who was staring at her.
One second he had been minding his own business, the next he found himself chilling out on the palace floor. Once he was able to orient himself, he gazed bewildered at the person who had interrupted his day. “I’m fine,” Troy attempted to brush the situation. “I was obviously lost in my own world as well.”

Taking the hand that was offered him, he stood back on his feet. He brushed his hands over his clothes. Dirt puffed into the air as it was disturbed from its resting spot. And for a moment, he considered using this as an excuse to get out of the heavy robes required of him. Turning his attention back to the blonde, it took a moment before Troy was finally able to place a name, “Liam, right? You’re not hurt are you?”

Lynn blinked, confused by the girl's words. "Well, no. I live underground mostly... But, why did you come through that wall?" She replied, lifting a brow. It wasn't like she was going to turn the girl in or anything, she was just curious. She could feel Maggie behind her, tense up. Was there something about this girl Maggie didn't like? Lynn smiled and walked over to the girl, holding out her hand. "Well, in any case, I'm Lynn. It's nice to meet you. Maggie and I were just about to go out and buy supplies. Would you like to join us?" She asked, hoping the girl would.

It'd be nice to have some company, especially if she knew the lay of the land well. It might help to have someone with powers with them. Maggie and Lynn were both non-magic users, humans with no magical abilities. At least, that's what Lynn would like to believe. Lately, things had been happening with her and... powers she'd always assumed she didn't have. She'd been trying to hide it for a couple weeks now. Maybe... if she asked this girl... She was a stranger after all and if she could keep her true identity on the down low, maybe she could get away with asking.
Liam sat, eyes wide staring at the prince before the words finally made sense. "Ah.. Y-Yes! I'm f-fine, Prince Troy." He stuttered, trying his best to stand up. When he finally did, he brushed off his pants and stood still before the prince. "G-Good day, Prince. I was... I was just going to..." He began, trying to come up with some excuse as to why he would be near the Sparring/Sword room.

"My father asked me to go have a look at the swords in the sparring room, to see if anything is wrong with them." He blurted out. Ugh, he could kill himself right now if it weren't impossible. He couldn't look the prince in the eye either. He'd always been a terrible liar. Oh, he was going to be in so much trouble later.

“Why indeed,” Melody repeated as she glanced behind her at the wall. She gave a shrug as she folded her arms and stared back at the girl before her. It wasn’t often that she ran into people who would admit that they didn’t see the light of day very often. But the girl remained cheerful, a wave of curiosity rolling off of her.

Tilting her head to the side, she glanced down at the hand that was held out to her. She glanced past the girl to the woman who had been introduced as Maggie. Now that woman was normal, the fact that she was apprehensive of the unknown was what Melody was used to.

“My friends call me Mel,” the jinn introduced herself as she shook hands with Lynn. Her mind played through the scenario that was offered to her. It was probably safest for her to hang out here for a while. But then again, she could use the two in order to blend into the crowd and avoid detection. “I’d love to join you for a little adventure. I still have a few things to grab myself. That is, if you’re friend doesn’t object too much.”
He was used to people tripping over their words when they spoke to him. His family was known for their tempers, and he was sure that his brothers had thrown people in the prisons for very simple things. But it made him wonder if he’d ever encounter a moment when someone would not be able to recognize his authority and treat him as a simple person.

“Is that so,” Troy mused as he listened to the angel’s excuse. “Well I was just about to put in a little bit of practice, care to join me?” He wasn’t entirely sure why he offered. He hadn’t planned to practice sparing; it was a part of his daily activity anyways between all the lessons. However, perhaps training with someone who didn’t know him well would prove to entertain.

Lynn smiled at the affirmation. "Of course not! I don't Maggie will care, right?" She asked, turning back to face her friend. Maggie closed her eyes and sighed, a sign that she'd given in. Lynn smiled once again and turned back to look at Mel ."See. Come on, let's go! I don't have all day, so we kind of need to make this fast..." She told them as she walked over to the exit. "Gregory. We'll be back soon." She told the attendant and then was out the door, headed for the market place. There seemed to be a bit of tension in the air as several men stomped around the area. Looking for someone? She tilted her head to the side but shrugged and kept walking. She needed to do her job.

As she walked, she could feel the other two behind her. The streets were dirty and dusty, a foul place. She chuckled. Normally she'd be wishing she could live in the palace but something about that life turned her off. She didn't think she could ever get used to a royal life, not that she'd ever have to. Still... She looked up at what parts of the castle they could see. she at least wished Maggie could have the chance to live that life. Her eyes lowered to the mud encrusted ground. She wished everything didn't have to be like this either. Why couldn't they all just be friends? Wasn't it really too naive of her to think that something like that could happen?
Liam looked up at the prince with wide eyes. Join him? He could feel a smile crawl onto his lips. "I'd love to, Prince." He said, walking over towards the Practice room. He'd been here a lot, actually. Sneaking away any time he could and get some practice in. He wasn't bad either, though he could use some direct instruction and he'd be even better but... that was never going to happen. No, he was probably at his limit. He was the only one that could make himself better after all.

He chuckled as he thought to himself. In any case, I'd be a great at torturing someone. Destroy them and then heal them back up. His eyes grew wide. Wait... Do they... Do angel's actually do that? His brows furrowed. He was deep in thought, almost forgetting who he was with. He shook his head and walked over to entrance of the Practice room. The castle was bright with natural light, everything had a faint orange hue to it. He walked over to a table that held several armors and swords. He turned to face Prince Troy. "Would you like me to help you put on armor?" He asked, wanting to be polite.

Without any objections, Melody smiled as they left the building. She really hadn’t planned to leave so early, but she felt confident as they moved among the market place. So she kept her head up, on the lookout for a frustrated guard. For extra precaution, she reached behind her, pulling at the fabric of her hood. She lifted it over her head, giving it a firm tug before she felt a little bit safer.

“So what sort of items are you looking for today? Or maybe we can stop by a vendor for some food – my treat,” she glanced to the girl who she walked beside.

Lynn seemed lost in thought – and dreams. For a moment she was curious what it was. However, Mel was hesitant to hear people’s dreams and wishes. She had heard too many of the hopeful wishes as a child. She’d had her fill of encountering people who wanted her to fulfill a wish – something she was not gifted to do. Dreams were something that didn’t come true. They were illusions, pure and simple. “So what possessed you to ask me to come along with you anyways?” Melody wondered, addressing the issue much earlier than she thought she would.
“I’ll be able to get most of it on alone, but I’d appreciate a little bit of help,” Troy accepted the offer. Maybe it was a phase. Maybe it was just an off day. He had spent years accepting help from others, accepting others treat him like he was used to. However, something about today felt different. Maybe he just wanted to be normal – a rather absurd thought. Or maybe he just wanted to find something that could relate to him. Relate to the fact that it life was terrible being the fourth prince – treated with such dignity even if there is no chance that you’ll ever inherit anything.

Once the armor was on, he glanced over the selection of weapons. There was quite a few to chose from, but he eventually picked up one of the simpler ones, liking the weight of it in his hands. “So, Liam, how well can you fight,” he threw a friendly taunt.

Lynn looked over at the girl, Mel as she asked what they were looking for. She smiled sweetly. "Well, just basic food supplies. Usually the name of Sleg will get you a good discount." She explained cheerfully. Maggie, on the other hand wasn't quite as happy. Lynn couldn't understand why Maggie didn't seem to like this girl very much. She wasn't talking much either. It wasn't like her. Lynn sighed and smiled over at Maggie, hoping to get a response but all she got was the cold shoulder. Well, she was going to get it later, wasn't she?

She blinked and gave Mel a confused glance at her next question. "Well, do I need a reason? Spontaneity is good for the soul. Besides, you won't hurt us will you?" She asked, looking at the pink haired girl. Sure, she wasn't exactly normal, but what is normal these days? She chuckled to herself. Nothing was normal anymore. It never was and that was the way she liked it. If everyday were the same, she might go insane. That's why, she enjoyed switching jobs. Though, working down in the metal work section was her favorite.

((I'll add a post for Liam in a bit. I've got to go to class soon.))
