[IC] Young Justice: New Beginnings

[Kitty]

After they headed in Hayley followed. She stood awkwardly to the side as all the league members got situated. "So what is so important that you, a junior league member called the main league members together?" Batman asked cutting straight to the chase. Hayley stood there trying to get words to come out, "Nathaniel i-is.... dead." Hayley said on the verge of tears. "Deathstroke killed him. I wasn't fast enough to stop him, I couldn't even save my own teammate.... it's my fault he is dead, if I just hadn't..." hayley was cut off by herself as she began to sob, all the league knew that she was a tough girl so seeing her crying was something never before seen. Black Arrow stood up and walked to Hayley kneeling beside her and pulling her into a hug to try to comfort his apprentice who had become like a daughter to him although he would never really ever say that to keep his loner type hero look.

[Demon Shinobi]

Rose was speechless. This had to be a joke. A sick joke. Deathstroke was cruel but... Bart slammed his fist onto the table. "That bastard... I'll kill him. I swear..." He looked at Hayley and forced himself to calm down a bit. Rose walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "It wasn't your fault." She managed to say as she tried to hold back her tears. On barts end the tears were already emerging. Though his anger was more evident than his sadness.

"I guess this would be a bad time to have come in." A voice came from the hall. There was a teenager there. Dressed in green with the Lantern symbol on his hoodie. Definitely wasn't the best time. But this kid did know Nathaniel. Even if he hadn't ben around for the past month or so.

[Kitty]

"If I had just believed him or just never seemed out..." Hayley was overcome by more tears, people may not blame her but of course she blamed herself. Hayley looked up at the newcomer, if he wanted to join the team then he could go to hell, she would never allow herself to befriend anyone else because she would just screw it up again and kill another teammate.

[Demon Shinobi]

Rose didn't know what to say. Neither did Bart. "All of you are going to need some time. Go home. Try to rest." Batman said calmly. "Ravager, Flash, Take the girl with you. The three of you need to talk. It'll be good for all of you." He said calmly. "Green Lantern, Give them some time." He added. "Right." The young lantern replied calmly.

[Kitty]

Hayley stood up and pushed past the new kid. She wanted to be alone. Hayley walked to the zeta beam and looked back. Hayley was teleported to the one closest to her house. When she walked in to her apartment there sat the one person she didn't want to see, her brother.

[Demon Shinobi]

"This definitely won't turn out good." GL said before floating up and flying off.

Rose and Bart sighed. "Lets go after her." Bart said. Rose agreed and the two left.

[Kitty]

"Hello Hayley." Jay said sitting on the couch with a smirk. "Get out of my apartment!" She said anger filling her voice, " last thing I remember is that this is OUR apartment sister. Now just hear me out. I know you hate DeathStroke and me most likely, but I know one thing that you want more, Nathaniel back. See there is away to bring him back but in order to have us tell you that, you must come with me and join the villain side. We will be partners again and we can continue are fighting as a team under the control of Deathstroke. Either you come with us or you never learn how to bring Nate back. Your choice." Jay said making it pretty clear why he was there, oh also, they blame you for his death. They will force you to give up your mask, weapon, uniform, everything you have come to know. All because you weren't good enough to save him. We can make you good enough just come with me sister." Jay stood up and held his hand out. Hayley stood there unsure on what to do, she then heard footsteps so she knew she'd need to choose soon. "Fine, only until he is brought back to life." Hayley said taking his hand and being pulled out the open window, completely forgetting that her apartment door was left ajar as they ran into the shadows to Deathstroke's hideout. Once there Hayley stood to the side silently.

[Demon Shinobi]

"Hayley?" Rose asked as she and Bart came to Hayley's apartment. It was just as she was leaving that they arrived. "HAYLEY!" The two shouted as they ran to the window.

"Very good." Deathstroke said having been monitoring when Red Devil had acquired the current target. "Since I had to rid myself of my last protege to be I suppose his partner will do." He said to himself as he awaited their arrival. Still he paid little to no attention them once they did arrive. It was silent. Up until he turned in his seat. "Tell me. If I do decide to bring my nephew back what will you do? Escape with him? We both know that won't work. You're weak." He said rather bluntly. "Of course, I wouldn't object to making you stronger. So long as you do what I say until he does come back." He offered wondering how she'd react.

[Kitty]

Hayley thought over it. "Ok. Fine, what are you going to do? Inject me with a serum or the blood of a superhero's blood or just train me until I die?" She asked crossing her arms slightly annoyed but ready to do anything to bring back Nate.

[Demon Shinobi]

"That all depends on what would suit you most. A serum or blood may alter your body. Are you prepared for either case?" Deathstroke said making it evident that he didn't plan on wasting time trying to make her like he'd made her brother. She probably couldn't compare as far as he thought.

[Kitty]

"I honestly don't care. I just want to do what I need to do until we get Nate back." Hayley said crossing her arms and glaring at Deathstroke. "Just do it quickly please so we can get started."

[Demon Shinobi]

"Very well." Deathstroke said calmly. "Do it Red Devil." He said as he turned to look away from the two back at a large computer screen.

[Kitty]

Red Devil walked up behind Hayley and stuck a needle in her neck and injected her with the blood of a superhero. Hayley passed out and fell to the ground. "Well she will either reject it and die or accept it and earn powers. Red Devil then walked away. An hour later Hayley woke up but she looked different. She had light blonde hair and mysterious purple eyes. She stood up slowly and held her head due to a throbbing pain. "I don't feel any different other than a headache. I think the stupid thing failed Deathstroke." She said the same sass in her voice as before.

[Demon Shinobi]

"If the stupid thing had failed as you said than you would be dead right now." Deathstroke said calmly. "Now we'll be testing out which abilities you've gained." He said calmly. "Come out me with all you've got."

[Kitty]

Hayley rolled her eyes and charged forward throwing a punch with as much speed and force as she could muster. She hoped it would hit for once but she highly doubted it.

[Demon Shinobi]

As the girl expected Deathstroke dodged, but didn't retaliate. "Good. Now more!" He ordered her. He wanted to see what she could do before he got started for real. It was something many instructors did in situations like these. Or similar ones anyway. Most instructors would never be in this kind of situation.

[Kitty]

Hayley continued attacking with all she had. It was obvious that she was not going to probably hit any of the attacks but she had to try. She had yet to notice the fact that her long red hair was now blonde. Hayley eyes began to glow purple slightly as the blood finally began to settle in.

[Demon Shinobi]

"Hmmm. This is getting better." He said calmly. Then he thought for a moment. "Heh. No wonder you couldn't save my pathetic excuse for a grandson. Someone as weak as you. Even with these budding powers I doubt you could do anything." He said pretty much antagonizing her into coming at him with more than she was giving.

[Kitty]

Hayley growled. "SHUT UP!" She screamed, an last of telekinetic energy blasted out of her body. She opened her mouth in shock. Before smirking, she was always good at adapting. Hayley brain began think stuff out, this ability was defintely telekinesis and that means she could move stuff with her mind. Hayley looked at a metal barrel and concentrated holding her hand out. It lifted but it was shaking she then threw it towards him but it missed.

[Demon Shinobi]

Deathstroke was knocked back a bit caught off guard by the telekinetic blast. "Heh. Much better." He said calmly. Soon the barrel went by. She adapted quick. That was good. "Go get some rest. We'll continue your training tomorrow. I need some time to work out a training regiment." He said calmly not giving room to argue. What he said was absolute apparently.
