**********
CAUTION! Entering the wizard's dungeon (err...dungeun as it is spelled by wizards of old) is not recommended for those who wish to continue living. Proceed any further and you WILL DIE!
**********

Before you read any further, let it be known that the above warning is no joke. This is inspired by a game called Dark Souls, known as one of the hardest games ever. This dungeon is designed to be incredibly grueling, having enemies far outnumbering and overpowering your own characters and traps capable of one hit killing you the moment you let your guard down. You must be at your A game the entire time to have a chance of surviving through until the end, and even then getting through by the skin of your teeth. There are multiple retries and as many of you can join as you want, as you need all of the help you can get, learning from your mistakes and using teamwork to come out victorious where you couldn't alone.

Your characters can have medieval technology, peak human abilities, and minor magic, at best being able to blow a one story masonry house down after a long charged up spell and using up most of your energy. They don't have to be human, just along that level of ability. If they specialize in only one thing such as strength then they can exceed the normal limitations but must be weakened considerably in other areas. The more useful their magic the more energy it must take, so if you had a spell so powerful it could stop time then it would cause you to run out of energy nearly instantly. You cannot bring people back to life but you can slowly heal injuries. All of these restrictions don't apply to your enemies, so some of them can do some crazy things.

My character will help things out because she also has very powerful magic, able to revert time, which is why we can have multiple attempts at this roleplay while still retaining memories of our missteps. You will have to protect her until she can escape the dungeon, which is when you all win and the roleplay is completed. Don't worry about most of the problems with escort missions because she's actually intelligent so won't actively seek out her death as some computer A.I. does. If you guys let her get killed it's your fault for not protecting her adequately.

So that's about all the info you will get going into this because your characters don't know either. They were knocked out and when they woke up they were hanging by their wrists in an old cell in who knows where, each in their own cell but able to see the other characters in adjacent cells. Their weapons are gone and a drug is in their system limiting magic for a couple of minutes. Where are their weapons? Where is the way out? Who is this mysterious girl who demands you help her escape and how is her magic so powerful, yet she can't escape on her own? You must find all of this out while dealing with hundreds of angry monsters who want to make sure my character doesn't escape, and if you stand in their way then God help your soul.

This is a prequel to a possible sequel called Wizard's Tower, which will be like this but going up floors that get harder every floor (luckily you can save your progress on certain floors), so if we get to the higher floors you will look back on this dungeon like it was adventure time on a preschool playground in comparison. I can't say this enough, only join this roleplay if you are fine with going through multiple attempts of getting crushed. The victory at the end may be worth it for some, but for others they might just want to punch their computer screen. Even in our anger as the lizard people bite our heads off for the 100th time, let's all have fun!

Rules

1. There are some rules mentioned in the text above such as the capabilities of your characters. Make sure you read everything.

2. You only have control over your character.

3. You can hit and kill the baddies I send at you if done realistically. I will say the enemies you cannot do this too. Those enemies must be treated like a normal fight where only I'd say in my posts when they take damage.

4. You can harm your companions, but no auto hits, meaning you need to give them a chance to respond to your attack. However, attacking your teammates is highly unadvised. My character can leave them in their cell in the next play through. (Seriously. She's the one who will let you guys out).

5. You must wait until at least 2 others have had a chance to post, but it's even better if you wait until everyone involved posts so you don't go out ahead of them and get yourself killed.

6. If you keep people waiting for 3 days then I can do something to your character to get things moving again, whatever that may be. After 6 days I can have a monster randomly pop up and kill them. If you don't show up by the time next playthrough comes around then they will have vanished from their cell in some temporal anomaly caused by your death to that monster.

7. A playthrough ends in defeat if all of your characters or my character dies, and it ends in victory if mine makes it out of the dungeon. At that point your characters are assumed to be able to make it out as well even if they had died (being in the dungeon stopped her from being able to do certain stuff like that). If you're the last one alive and keeping everyone waiting, that's a different story then rule number 6 and I can have the monster pop up to kill you on the 3rd day.

8. Only one character per person. However, you may change your character on the next playthrough. The previous character will be missing from their cell with the new character in their place, another temporal anomaly.

9. I have the final say on things. If you have your guy wildly swing his broadsword around at my enemy and say I totally should have died there, I can say they didn't and that's the end of the story. I'll keep consistency so don't worry. I won't have some enemy get killed by a dagger then all of a sudden have the same enemy immune to your more powerful attacks. If it makes sense for you to win based on previously mentioned facts then I will rule in your favor.

10. Prepare to die!!!

Name-Audeleiss V. Syntenia
Age- N/A
Gender- Female
Race- Human Witch?

Personality- She's a mysterious one, not revealing much of anything about herself or showing any emotion, although she does experience it. She often looks down on others, insulting them and caring mainly about herself. Everyone else around her is a tool for her to use to achieve her goals...up to an extent. She won't go around murdering babies or anything serious, but if she's in a burning building then don't expect her to rush off saving everyone unless they can somehow return the favor later on. She thinks things through logically, the main thing stopping her from doing evil things for the lulz, just because it doesn't make sense and could easily backfire. She doesn't experience joy from doing evil, so neutral or good happens to be what she does most of the time, but she does have her overly selfish/evil moments.

Appearance- Sort of like this but with blue eyes and she wears only a white dress. Also, she can change her age from toddler to elderly, so expect her appearance to change accordingly.

Strengths- Her mind is her greatest asset, able to ward off most mental attacks with ease and come up with strategies in the blink of an eye. Given enough time she could probably find a way to manipulate the Gods to do her bidding.
Weaknesses- Her physical abilities are only that of a human girl.

Powers- She can travel through time or even remain in the current time and alter the time experienced by any object(s) within a 100 foot radius, considered an instant death radius when fighting her. For example, she could have a door in front of her go through time at a much faster rate so that it deteriorates nearly instantly. She can alter her own time to make herself young or old and even alter the time of her injuries back to before she got them. As long as she has energy to spare she practically can't be killed unless it can do so before she can turn back the time on the damage. The one thing she cannot effect with time is magical energy, so she cannot attack it with time based deterioration or go back in time to a point when she was full energy and expect her energy to come back.
Equipment- None. Just her outfit.

History- Most of her history is a secret, and "history" doesn't mean much to her anyways due to her time abilities. What is known is that she was somehow caught off guard and knocked unconscious before being locked inside a dungeon and injected with magical drugs to inhibit most of her powers at advanced mind, requiring a rare antidote found outside. The dungeon she now finds herself in belongs to the very wizard who she wishes to kill, who lives in a massive tower nearby of his own magical creation. He's one of the few who can rival her power, so they both apparently wish to take the other out of the equation. Why he didn't just kill her, then, is unknown.

Name- Jeremy Smith (will accept a name change if you think another is more fitting)
Age- 8
Gender- Male
Race- (If making one up, please explain): Halfling
Personality- A young and timid boy. His life in the local village has stumped his bravery significantly. He rarely speaks to others and has been known to talk to himself. Quite the introvert, he sees most adults as parent-figures and develops special bonds with young adults. He never cries, but looks constantly timid. He has a deep connection with his head-wizard, Grimrock.
Appearance- (picture or written) He is about 4' 6" with blue eyes and short, grey-blonde hair. He has a slender build (almost skin and bones) with sharp nose and deep set-eyes. His lips are quite small and often quiver. He wears grey clothes that are a little too big for him and have the appearance of rags.

Strengths- Small, fast and hard to hit (especially from ranged attacks). He is also able to fit through tight spaces and can hide well behind objects or in the shadows.
Weaknesses- Being so young, he is easily scared and it does not take much damage to kill him. One hit from the shortest of swords would suffice.

Powers- : Has a small "rune of protection" sutured to his right shoulder, meaning that he will explode upon death (force of roughly three hand grenades).
Equipment- Has a small dagger and three days supply of bread and fruit, all tied up in a knapsack. Hidden in the knapsack, however, is also a gauntlet of major power (I would rather leave said power a secret to the other players, but wouldn't mind sharing it with the GM)

History- He was a young boy who grew up in the local village of Douroughsborough. Most of his life was spent in pleasant naivety. His days mostly involved fishing, sleeping and eating. That was until the day that Grimrock the wizard arrived - Grimrock was a stern old man who took Jeremy on as an apprentice. Jeremy began to learn the basics of magic, but did not have any prowess in magic, as such, and could only perform magic whilst wearing an enchanted object (any would do). One day, Grimrock was not in his lair. Jeremy decided to investigate. He gathered together a few rings and summoned a portal to Grimrock's location, from thence he was captured by another wizard and despite his violent struggle, was forced asleep. He awoke in his cell.

Name- Maybird Cross ("Macross" shortened)
Age- 20
Gender- Male
Race- Human
Personality- He prefers using his fists (and occasionally, feet) to take down his adversaries. He values efficiency and precision more than anything else, he loves seeing good plans through, and is willing to put even himself on the line if he deems said plan fool-proof. He is perfectly fine with being ordered around, to the extent of even sacrificing himself, as long as he sees the benefit in the other's plan, also, he will be fairly annoyed when someone ruins a perfect plan. Despite this, small-talk does not much irritate him, though he will speak in the shortest and quickest way possible when stating something. He also values good companions, and intelligent tacticians and will be loyal to them.
Appearance- He is 5'7" lean, but slightly muscular build, has an upright posture, short, black hair, and his eyes are brown.

Strengths- He is a quick thinker, and is agile so he makes for a good scout, he can also foresee or suspect if a trap is about, given his past experiences with dungeons and the like, but is not always able to disable them. In battle, he can dodge most attacks, and land quicker blows, especially with the help of his magic. His movements are light enough to not cause unnecessary noise. Lastly, he can clear obstacles fairly quickly, as he is a decently skilled free-runner, which aided by his magic make him more agile.
Weaknesses- Only using his fists, even with his magic, means he deals very light damage to larger opponents. He may be able to block blunt hits with his gauntlets and slashes with his barriers, but piercing attacks from none-projectiles break right through his defenses, directly damage him.

Powers- Maybird uses a lighter mixed variant of light magic and volatile fire magic, instead of outright blasting objects into oblivion, he uses his magic to enhance and strengthen his strikes, he can also use this to slightly propel himself in any direction by triggering a blast in the opposite direction, and sometimes he can create a temporary barrier that stops most projectiles and average strength attacks from medium sized opponents. The barrier's strength gradually decreases until it dissipates, taking damage decreases the barrier's strength more rapidly, it is strongest when it is first created, Maybird may use this trick to deflect heavier attacks and projectiles, although objects moving at a sufficient momentum and/or have sufficient size may outright break the barrier, but at least he is smart enough to just dodge such things. Lastly, since his blasts are made of both light and fire, his attacks are particularly potent against the undead and demons.
Equipment- Wears a set of light, matching, leather armor. He also wears a red, magic scarf that filters out toxins, the scarf is not overly long, as to avoid being unnecessarily caught, but is long enough to be snug around his face.

Alright then, just let me right up my char and see if it is up to your standards.

Name- Thyraelon, Goes by Raen
Age-Immortal, appears in early twenties
Gender- Male
Race- Fallen Angel
Personality- Raen is considered an odd one, often he can be seen at the forefront defending and only attacking when he knows he could deal some damage. This is due to his nature as a former defender of the heavens, something he still possesses. Outside of combat, he rarely speaks unless spoken too and even speaks indirectly. This means he will use questions and riddles among other things as ‘answers’. Another thing Raen is known to do is curiously observe, in and out of combat.

Appearance-

(minus all the extra stuff but the eye-patch)

Strengths-Slightly better physical capabilities then humans (Faster, Stronger, and more Durable) and magical power (on par with a master of magic). Is considered brilliant with a sword in both defensive and offensive abilities.
Weaknesses- Holy and Unholy power can fatally harm him, this includes enhanced magic that has such properties. As he fell, he considered mortal even if he can’t age or truly die and that means he can be affected by illness and other things that plague mortals.

Powers- “Flames of the Immaterial”. While not as strong as he once was, Raen can wield powerful purple flames that can cause damage to anything. This can also be used for defense to negate damage equal to the level of focus. Not-Insta Kill but still powerful enough to inflict medium wounds that can’t regenerate. When focused into his sword, he can inflict greater damage at the cost of lesser defense. When focused into his armor, he can withstand greater damage at the cost of lesser attack.

Equipment- Medium Plate Armor, Bastard Sword (single edge) and an amethyst ring which acts as his focus for his magic.

History- Thyraelon was one of the greatest defenders of the heavens, he was known as the “Lavender Guardian” due to the color of his fire magic. However, he was drawn to mortals and how they acted and reacted to the world around them. This would be his downfall as he would ultimately choose to fall in order to get a closer look at a cruel price. The once great angel was reduced to mortal standards, unable to return unless he gains forgiveness. A price that Thyrealon now seeks after long time with mortals and wishing to return back to where he truly belongs.

Going by the name, Raen, the fallen angel interacts with mortals and has gained a reputation for appearing to defend and observe before ultimately vanishing to another location or person. Most consider him an omen either good or bad, sometimes both as they also consider him a myth or legend due to his long time amongst mortals. All of this contributes to his ever mysterious and enigmatic reputation to the point where there many versions of him.

If he can't truly die, what happens to him when he would normally be killed?

He goes between life and death (Void) until a set amount of time (giving that to you) then revives. Raen can't return to heaven and isn't allied with the other side, so he is kinda stuck in the mortal realm. Each time he comes back, it's in a weakened form until he builds back up his strength.

Well, due to the nature of this place let's say he just gets stuck in void and will be free once we go back in time. We can't have him keep popping back in just for waiting. That would make it so we couldn't lose in the long run.

I think I will my arena character, but I need to edit a few things so he matches the criteria.

Edit: My character has the ability to shape-shift into different animals, is there anyway I could change it to fit the power level?

No animals bigger then a human? Transforming could take a bit of time so he/she can't just do it on the fly. Ah, and not super small characters like flies who can just completely fly past obstacles.

He's good. I'll approve of him. His weakness will help balance him out because there's a ton of unholy things to deal some damage.

Ok, Yeah since he isn't allied with either side, he has to survive fighting both until he gains his forgiveness. All those unholy things will be very annoying for him.

Name- Diēscogitō Khan
Age- 31
Gender-male
Race- Draythikon nomad
Class- Ranger
(Draythikon are humans who have adapted to harsh environments from living centuries as nomads)
Personality- Diescogito is a calm collected individual, often kind and gregarious when meeting strangers. He has a noble heart and is extremely loyal, especially to trusted friends. Though this often makes him a little naive and over trusting at times. Having lived among his family for so long, Diescogito dislikes being alone. His greatest fear in fact is being abandoned or left behind. Competent and intelligent, Diescogito is a quick learner when it comes to new task or experiences. His lifestyle having been one of adapting quickly to thrive, has bred him into an effect survivor. Despite circumstances he can be very optimistic, always trying to find a way out or around a problem. His determination to prevail gives him a resolve that borders on zealous. Never wanting to be one to let his comrades down. Like he felt he had done with his mother and brother years past.

Appearance

Is roughly 5'7, with a slender but athletic build. His arms are strong and heavily muscled, surprisingly so despite his size. All do to his long practice with the bow.

Strengths- Expert Marksmen, Nimble/quick, Excellent Horsemen, is a seasoned tracker of some skill and knows scrimshaw
Weaknesses- Being short of stature Diescogito does no possess great constitution and is not very skilled in close combat.

Powers- Diescogito Was taught various forms of minor nature magic as he grew up with his tribe. Though he has not innate magical ability, he managed to learn several potent runes of magic. Thus he knows the strange arts of rune-casting; a technique for channeling the arcane energy inherent in the world without the risk of arcane corruption.

Rune of Bounty: This rune once inscribed on a small object can bestow special energies that thus cause it to duplicate. Diescogito has only managed to duplicate items like his arrows. This rune thus allows him to fire a single arrow, which splits into three more upon flight. A slightly longer ritual allows a arrow shot skyward to rain down a volley of arrows instead.

Rune of Finding: This rune allows the use of 'Seeker Arrow' in which allows Diescogito to launch an arrow at a target known to him within range, and the arrow travels to the target, even around corners. Only an unavoidable obstacle or the limit of the arrow's range prevents the arrow's flight. Diescogito must have seen the target and be able to clearly picture it in his mind. This Rune can be used only four times per day.

Rune of Soul: This rune allows 'Phase Arrow', Diescogito can then launch an arrow once per hour at a target known to him within range, and the arrow travels to the target in a straight path, passing through any nonmagical barrier or wall in its way. (Any magical barrier stops the arrow.)

Earth Rune: This rune has the power to mold the earth itself. When Diescogito prepares these runes, they can be set to activate once approached. He can fix it to function from weight or the speed of the thing approaching, in either case once activated, the rune causes the earth to melt and become like mud, slowing down any one trapped within it. The earth slowly hardens again after a time. The extent of it's range is 20 feet, though Diescogito can minimize the area of effect. This can be placed on an arrow to effect a spot from a distance upon hitting it.

Equipment-

Diescogito wears a set of armor and cloths as shown directly above. It consists of beautifully crafted vambraces made from heavy grade leather and though thick, are easy and comfortable to wear. The vambraces work great for with his bow. He also wears leather padding on his right arm, though not as thickly in order for him to make full use of his right hand for shooting. The single Pauldron on the left side shoulder comes with a built in chest harness that provides a very sturdy fit, and is also tied in with the quiver on his back. Crafted from hardened leather they provide adequate protection.

The roguish armor overall is made for agile movement, making it the perfect protection for those mobile types who like to hit and run, or at least dodge and roll when they're engaged in heavy combat The right side is cut away for increased reduction in weight. When a blow does get through Diescogito agile defenses, the armor has the strength to keep him safe from a few lucky light blows. The armor is comprised of a single cuirass, which consists of a flat abdomen that's been reinforced with several small leather plates. The upper part of the cuirass echoes this design somewhat, possessing a fuller, rounded shape that's been reinforced with additional leather plating, creating a truly defensible design, which is mostly focused on the left side and over his heart.

His belt is made entirely from hardened leather and serves well as a piece of armor around his abdomen. The belt is wide in design, similar in nature to a kidney belt, as is it's purpose The belt features riveted-on plates of leather for reinforced defense as well as a fine patterned design using Draythikon runes and symbols. The edge is accented with a stitched leather lacing accent too, all the while remaining light and flexible. The final touches comes in the form of an attached hood, as well as a steel forged full face mask with leather padding underneath the mask. The eye holes are large enough to see through and not disrupt his aim.

Quivers: Diescogito possess two quivers, one strapped to his back, the second to his right leg hung from his belt. Neither is special in and of themselves. Though there is a hidden compartment underneath each. Made from tanned leather, the first leather quiver has a shoulder strap and is meant to be worn on the back. The quiver is held together by leather lacing, the second is worn from this belt by two straps. Both leather quivers are 3.5 inches in diameter and approx. 26 inches deep. Both can carry 2 dozen arrows. Making for a total of 44 arrows.

Draythikon Bow: Diescogito bow is a composite bow beautifully crafted and built with a recurve design with the total length of the frame around 150-160 cm. When the bow is unstrung, it looks like a semi-circle with a beautifully curvaceous shape, but when a string is attached the whole thing is stretched out so that its limbs are bent inward. Even so, the limbs with string attachments are bent slightly away from the archer, forming a double curve, making the recurve design. It is this double curve that delivers explosive acceleration and awesome velocity of each arrow. From these limbs or bends of the bow behind the string attachments where the impact is greatest, the frame is covered with elongated and flattened pieces of wyvern horn and bone which adds snapping power to the resilient wood built into in the frame.

These hard parts form a layer that covers the whole area of the so-called belly, which is the part between the grip and the limbs. The bow itself has a drew length of roughly 30 inches and the drew weight averages at around 166 pounds. The max distance it can hit its target is 350 yards or 320 meters, Diescogito's skill sometimes allowing him to hit targets slightly further then that. No bow, however, no matter how powerful, can be shot without a string. Like traditional Draythikon bowstrings, Diescogito's are made from animal hide. Diescogito uses a thumb ring made of animal horn when using his bow.

Arrows: Diescogito's arrows are made of birch as is typical a material for arrows. Their length is roughly between 80 cm, and the shaft's diameter is around 10 mm. The following arrow types are;

Bodkin: Bodkin points are short, rigid points with a small cross-section. These are the primary arrows Diescogito uses, and are exclusively used in his shoulder quiver. They are excellent at piercing armor.

Whistling arrow: whistling arrows are often used for signaling or warning allies. They are made by inserting an arrowhead of bone in which air channels have been created. When shot, such arrowheads make a very audible sound through the air. He carries four of these.

Impact Arrows: These arrows make a small explosion upon impact, also causing a great flash of light. Useful for distractions. Diescogito carries ten of these in his belt quiver.

Net arrows: The Blunt arrows look harmless from a distance, but when fired their heads explode discharging a large net 10 feet in diameter. The Net was circular with lead weights around the edge to help ensure or distract foes.

Hunting Dagger: Its name may imply that it is great for hunting, but do not let that fool you into thinking that this dagger is only useful for scrimshaw. Far from it, as this wicked short sword is a handy weapon to have in battle as well. The very epitome of a perfect weapon, this incredible blade offers a short edge that is easily used and moved in combat, but just long enough to give good reach. The double-edged blade features serrations along the back edge, while the grip is wrapped in suede for a comfortable hold. It is also encased in a D-ring guard with a finger-ring accent, for added versatility and strength when held and used. It is crafted from an extremely durable iron. The Hunting Sword has an average overall length of approximately 23.75 inches. The blade itself is 16.75 inches, and Diēscogitō keeps the weapon sheathed at the small of his back.

Does the rune of finding just hit anywhere on the target it happens to reach first or can he have it find a weak point if he thinks about it?
The rune of soul still falls due to gravity, right? Straight path could be a tad confusing, because arrows follow a curved path but do travel "straight".
