You know I can't control the explosion without my ring so you would get hit too. Trying not to team kill here but if there is no other choice then I will kindly take your noble sacrifice and hit the monster hard. Seriously though, either way your screwed,

Its not a problem, take a look at my post ;D

I think that would be viable, I mean srsly tho, in Dark Souls, you could parry attacks from creatures at least 2.5 times your character's size, so I think my post would be viable? Although, we have no way of knowing since IN is gone for the week ._.

Can you? I think the biggest thing you can parry is Berenike knights, which are around 8 foot tall. You can block like anything though.

And yeah i'm just gonna wait a little bit to see what Raen decides to do.

I'll work on something tonight, 'cause I have to drum for a few hours, but what about Gwyn? Wasn't he bigger than them? Maybe I'm just confusing "bigger" with "stronger"?

I just rewatched the fight on youtube and he can't be much bigger than 8'. Artorias might be bigger, but he's unparryable.
Then again that might not be because of his size but by virtue of being a boss. None of the bosses are parryable except Gwyn for some reason.

I think it was in Demon's Souls where you could do that, though I confuse the two games often

EDIT: I think I was referring to the "partial-parry" that lessens the damage you receive, and prevents the knockback from even larger enemies like Sentinels. Though I don't know how that applies here, but I was just hoping to lessen the damage on Maybird caused by the explosion

Well, maybe Gwyn's parry able to keep up the lore that's built around him. After having his soul burn in a flame for so long, and being reduced to a powerful hollow, maybe he just became that weak?

I've considered that too. Being somewhat of an anti-climax boss makes sense for him, considering he doesn't have a lord soul anymore.
Then again, Ornstein, who is both mechanics- and lore-wise weaker, is unparryable. It's just a matter of gameplay and story segregation, i suppose.

Technically, Lore-wise, both Ornstein and Smough, along with their Souls and item Drops, were illusions created by Gwyndolin. You fight the Old Dragonslayer in Dark Souls 2, who has the exact same armor as Ornstein, albeit a darker shade, and drops the Old Leo Ring.

If the one in Anor Londo is an illusion, then it would have made sense that he would be unparryable, since the Chosen Undead must be tested to see if he/she deserved the Lordvessel.

Hey, I think I am going to pass this turn.
(Important, if the monster turns around so Rick can throw the stool at its face, :P, could you have him do so, and then attempt to shoot the thing's eyes if he is successful?)

I'd forgotten about that theory. That means the Old Dragonslayer is in fact Ornstein (old-ass Ornstein), not just some look-alike. Yay for continuity :D
And i suppose that does justify the parry problem. Artorias' unparryability can be explained simply by his size (he's big even for a demihuman) aaand... that covers everyone, i think. Teh mystery has been cracked.

The monster isn't facing any way because he's spinning, but he was facing toward the trap when he started to spin and will end up facing behind him.

If you try to block such a forceful blow it would shatter the bones of any normal human.

I only have wifi in hotel rooms for the night time when I'm not busy helping getting things situated with the house.

The block was going to be for the probable explosion that Raen was probably gonna cause, probably ._.
