Roseia walked into the office and sighed looking to her partner lying on his desk asleep in a pile of papers once again. "Honestly why do I put up with this man?" she sighed a hand touching a forehead in despair before she noticed several coffee mugs which made her even more annoyed "Next time I'm not leaving the filing to him" she sighed having and to leave early for an appointment the previous evening. Roseia was in her early twenties and enjoyed solving puzzles hence why this was meant to be her dream job but then she was given this man as a partner. She picked up the mugs and put them in the sink in the small kitchen in the office and then made hims fresh coffee before getting to work on sorting out the remaining files "Oi, wake up" she said shaking his shoulders until eh woke up before there was a knock at the door and then she sighed opening it "Can I help you?" "Ah, we're just here with a new case for you both, is he asleep again" he asked "yes my assistant is sleeping again" she took the file and the man chuckled "Well we can bring the people in question in within an hour get your partner up by then"

Roseia nodded "Yeah I'll try" she sighed and got to work reading through the file. Roseia was a busy boy, she liked to keep everything organised "Wake up already!" she yelled getting rather impatient and showed him the file. "I need you to type up the meeting, these people seem rather suspicious so I can't afford for him to be able to change and twist his words. " she said to him "There is a haunted theatre around here and the owner has gone to several other supernatural detectives and I don't want him twisting words around" she said bluntly to her sleepy assistant "Well come on, you need to get prepared, we're meeting him in 20 minutes as well as his annoying lawyer" she said to him.

Sure enough 20 minutes late a rather chubby spoilt man walked in proudly before getting the usia; lecture of how wealthy he was and that he wanted a five star service and the problem solved since eh was loosing money "Ok, I get it you want to keep lining your pockets, now explain the problem" she said "These people keep vanishing in the middle of the play, Hamlet at the moment the ghost of women appears and keeps kidnapping people we have to keep auditioning for new people to play Hamlet but they all keep vanishing" he said seeming to be completely fine about such things. "Ok can we have the name and address of your theatre and access to the building whenever we want?" she questioned, he reluctantly agreed after getting advice from his lawyer.

Dennis never signed up for this kind of work. In fact, he had always wanted to be a baseball manager. Or something like that. So again, what the hell was he doing with a job like this? And an annoying partner to boot. Grumbling awake, Dennis looked up and glared at his partner, Miss Roseia. Sighing and shaking his head, he got up from his slumber and proceeded to dust his clothes off.

The two were....certainly an unlikely pair. Dennis always did have trouble sleeping. An insomiac, or whatever they were called. Indeed, at first glance it looked like he barely took care of himself. Unruly and messy black hair that was almost too long, barely covering a sick shade of green eyes with numerous sleep deprived circles under each eye. He wore a plain suit and tie finished off with a pair of sharp edged and circular glasses. He even had a nice hat around here....somewhere in the mess. Someone of the two had to dress professionally.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm on it," he muttered back to his partner's commands. How did she expect him to work in top shape if she always gave him the paperwork? Well, whatever. Another case meant another chance at getting paid. And that was fine by Dennis.

It didn't take long for the client to meet the duo. A large and chubby man, Dennis was surprised he hadn't had a heart attack on the way here. At the sound of ghosts being mentioned, Dennis raised an eyebrow. They'd been getting more and more "paranormal" cases like that, usually involving some mythical creature. And now they were dealing with ghosts? Great. Dennis leaned back and placed his booted feet on the desk, crossing his arms behind his head bored.

Roseia wouldn't approve, but it's not like it mattered anyway, right? In hindsight, Roseia and Dennis were two of a kind. The real Batman and Robin. Heck, some even called them the modern Holmes and Watson. Of course in this case, Holmes was a chick. They were that good. Funny how things turned out.

Adjusting his glasses and trying to get some much needed sleep, Dennis muttered out with his eyes closed, "So are we the new Ghostbusters now too Roseia?"

"Dennis we need to get paid and I have the rent on this place to get paid" she said to him "Also I'm doing the paper work tonight so for crying out our get some sleep that's not on the desk" she sighed shaking her head, she'd already given up on trying to correct his behavior, he could be useful when he was working after all. "anyway let's get some sleep , you especially and we'll deal with this as in the evening" she said bluntly to him before ruffling her hair and thinking to herself, her light blue eyes looking around the room. "Ok let's see flask, flask where was it again" she soon sorted it out after the man had left cleaning it out to make some later on. They were definitely on opposite end of the scale him being quite lazy and her being a bit of a busy body.

"and I'm sure we'll get some more exciting cases sooner or later" she said bluntly "Plus the pay for this job is pretty good if we solve it now go and get some sleep there are some spare blankets in the cabinet. I'm going to go check the address is correct, I don't remember that being a theater there" she said bluntly and headed out. Later on she came back "hmm turns out there is a theater there seems rather new as well" she frowned and looked to the paper "hmm lot of publicity since the incident and rising of ticket sales too… interesting" she thought a moment before checking on him and once he was awake she dragged him out tot he theater and looked around "Isn't it so very quiet here also I noticed there were quite a lot of trapdoors in this theater how many do they usually have?" she asked him grinning as if she was onto something. "Also we need to get files on all the people that have gone missing. See if there is anything in common minus the Hamlet role." she said to him.

Sighing, Dennis left to do just that. Sleep. The office wasn't big but it was manageable. A small television set lay in the corner with two desks, some chairs, a fridge, and finally a couch. It was here where Dennis decided to have his nap. Or at the very least, attempt to do so. He simply spent the majority of the time just staring at the ceiling or turning on the T.V. Of course, nothing was on. Being an insomiac, sleep didn't come easily for him even of he tried. Besides, with the work their job demanded, there really was no time for rest.

In the end though, he ended up receiving maybe two hours of sleep at the least. Though if they really were going against ghosts this time, sleep wouldn't mean a thing.

Getting up, he glanced at the clock above; it read 6 in the night. Well that was fast. Hearing Roseia return, he say up to adjust his glasses. "Any new leads?"

"Hmm no not yet, how about we go to the theatre again tonight?" she said although it sounded like a question it was more of a 'let's do this now' sort of thing with her. Getting up she waited for him to be ready before leading the way back to the theatre. It did look very post and once inside the plush seats and polished stage didn't exactly give it that authentic theatre look. She pulled some chalk out of her pocket and marked all the trap doors, there were six in total staggered over the stage "Why so many trap doors?" she questioned and ruffed her hair "Why do you think there are so many trap doors Dennis?" she asked.

At that moment the night guard came "How did you get in here?" he questioned "We were given permission by the owner, chubby rich guy" the night guard raised an eyebrow "What are you talking about, since the old owner died or rather went missing nothing has been organised yet so get out, come back in the day time" he said furiously "Doesn't change the fact we were given permission though does it?" she grinned at the frustrated man who scoffed and turned his flashlight away before walking off. "Hmm interesting"

Dennis sighed as they made their way to the old theater. It wasn't a matter of question, rather a matter of when and where. Whatever Roseia said they were gonna do, nine times of ten they were gonna do it. And here they were now in the theater. Late in the night. With no one else around. Lovely. Dennis sat in one of the chairs in the audience, leaving Roseia alone to do her thing. Leaning back once more, he crossed his arms and shut his eyes to try and get some sleep. Of course, it'd be a long time when that would finally happen.

His left hand brushed the one weapon on him and really their only protection; a simple revolver. Low on firepower, yes, but they were only detectives. Nothing big. Even though the existence of actual ghosts seemed a bit of a stretch, he wanted to be safe. Just in case. At Roseia's question about the trap doors, Dennis have her a small shrug.

"Dunno. Maybe cause they know you were gonna mark all over their property?" Charming.

When the night guard appeared to scold them, Dennis sighed once more before getting up and walking over to his partner. After Roseia had basically finished chewing the guard out, he turned to her. "You really know how to piss people off, huh? Whatever. He said something about the manager missing, right?" He looked around the dusty place in thought.

"How long do you think he's bee-"

A long bang from deeper within the theater interrupted his words, and Dennis' hands flew straight for the gun. He didn't arm himself just yet though, instead glancing at Roseia, waiting for orders.

Roseia looked to him "It's so I know where the trap doors are, it's dangerous to have them unmarked especially so many of them" she said to him bluntly and smiled sweetly at his next words "They're the ones who get so up tight about things and well… I have a feeling that the manager is actually a she" she said to him pointing to the old poster "I think that's her, I mean it's the only poster that's older than this actual theatre and most theatre owners need some experience in the business to be able to run it properly." she said "the other manager is most likely an impostor" she sighed. "Ah well he's still paying us." she muttered after hearing the bang and just moved to go find out what it was "You coming Dennis, you've got the gun so I need you to shoot if it's someone dangerous" she said to him nonchalantly.

Searching deeper within he theatre Roseia sighed "This place is like a maze how annoying" she ruffled her hair an looked back to Dennis, her any idea what that sound could have been?" she questioned him before stumbling over something and then turned and picked up one of them "What is this doing here?" she said it was unusual to see a huge pile of unopened packages in a theatre this late at night "Want to see what's inside?' she asked him and sat cross legged and began opening one of them. "Hmm what's this white snuff she asked rubbing it between her fingers.

"I dunno. Maybe ghosts?" Really, the source of the sound could have been a number of things, and personally Dennis didn't want to stay and find out. Still keeping his gun a hand, he knelt down and peered at the white powder in the boxes. Sugar? Drugs? No, it was...

"Flour?" Dennis sniffed the substance and sure enough his suspicions were confirmed. "So...I guess we're dealing with either really hungry ghosts or this is really just some kind of fancy bakery. Perfect." Another bang rang out in the theater, this time coupled with the sound of a soft pattering and scratching.

Something. Something was moving in the shadows. Adjusting his glasses, Dennis took a step forward in front of Roseia. Aiming the gun carefully, he waited a few seconds. Seconds were all that was needed, for the source of the sound finally made itself known.

Rats. Lots of them.

Black fur and red eyes. It was almost like a swarm, no, a sea of them. Dennis grimaced and backed away slowly. "Well fearless leader? Got any bright ideas?"

"If these ghosts are people covered in flour I'm going to be ticked" she said, Dennis of all people knew how annoying she could get when she was ticked off, he'd had to deal with her on more than one occasion when she was like that. She watched and looked over his shoulder to the rats grimacing a little "Rats, of all things why rats?" she groaned "and why so many here, there's a herd, group, flock… of them" she said to him and thought for a moment humming gently to herself and in his ears as she looked over his shoulder still at the rats. "Now lets try and find out where that other sound was coming from yes?" she asked him and began to wonder around avoiding any areas with rats if she could help it.

She found another trap door and opened it only to find more rats making her back up and drop the door shut causing a huge bang. "I found their nest thats for sure" she said disgusted and muttered a little to herself some words before she looking to Dennis"You're opening any more trap doors ok?" she smiled sweetly and sure enough she called him over to investigate any other trap doors in one they found several different Hamlet costumes making her think "Ok so there are three naked men somewhere?" she questioned. "Dennis, feel ike going to a play tomorrow?" she asked

Dennis rolled his eyes at his partner's crude humor. "Let's just hurry this up so I can get some sleep," he muttered in reply. Walking deeper into the confines of the theater, the banging from before seemed to get louder, almost intensifying. Following the source, and making sure to step over any and all of the rats, Dennis led the way through a long hallway with several doors on each side.

Great. This was turning out to be more and more like a haunted house by the second. Even still, they had a job to do. Otherwise, no paycheck! With this in mind, Dennis pinpointed the exact room where the banging was coming from. This time it was coupled by muffled screams and when the assistant opened the door gingerly ready to shoot what was on the other side, he nearly tripped over a struggling form.

It was a young woman in a red dress, her limbs tied tightly and her mouth gagged with a cloth. She had been pounding on the door for some time now, waiting to be released. Dennis raised an eyebrow to take a closer look. Wait a minute, wasn't she...?

"Don't tell me you're the manager," he said. Indeed, the bound woman looked exactly like the one they saw in the poster. At his statement, the woman shook her head vigorously, muffling out words of confirmation. So she was the manager then. Sighing, Dennis motioned for Roseia to untie the woman as he kept watch at the door...only to tense immediately.

"Um, hey Roseia? What the hell is that?"

Down the hallway, almost hidden by the darkness, was a tale and pale....thing. It had milky white eyes, deathly pale skin, and black hair that drooped limply off its form. Was it a woman? Or some demon?

Didn't matter. Because as Dennis raised his gun at the thing, it have him a crooked smile with a mouth that had no teeth.

Roseia untied the women before looking up at him and then to the strange pale creature and thought a moment "He put you down here miss?" she asked and the manger nodded her head before Roseia motioned for Dennis to ensure that the door stay open as whatever is was tried to close the door down on them. Once they forced their way out he was gone and she looked around before noticing flour where it had been standing "Flour?" she paused "what sort of person covers themselves in flora and goes around scaring people!" she yelled clearly annoyed "Anyway let's find this man shall we, you recognise him at all?"

The women thought "I think he used to work as a janitor here but he retired a year or two ago" she said to them "and who are you two?" Roseia looked to Dennis "we're Detectives, we were hired to investigate what was going on here by someone else who claimed they were the manager" she frowned and looked to her "What is your name?" "My name is Sarah, Sarash Capella" she said to them and Roseia nodded "I'm Roseia and this is Dennis my assistant" she said to her "any idea what's going on Hamlet keeps going missing"

Dennis sighed in annoyance. "I swear, if these are just people in sheets and this ends up being a bad episode of Scooby Doo, I'm calling an early vacation. You hear that Roseia?" Leaving the two women alone to discuss more matters on the Hamlet disappearances, Dennis decided to scope out the place. He had to admit, this theater was deep enough to probably house a few tortured souls or two. It was certainly creepy enough. Dennis suspected that some of these rooms and props hadn't been used in forever.

Noticing a pile of more flour, the assistant bent down to take a small handful. "More flower. What, are we dealing with bread ghosts?" A low moaning sound made him stand up immediately, gun trained on what was before him. His eyes widened at the sight taking place right in front of his eyes.

Not one, or two, but a lot of those pale figures appeared now. Their sightless eyes were all trained on him and they slowly shuffled forward towards his position. Backing away carefully, Dennis made sure to keep his sight on them at all times.

"Roseia? You're not gonna believe this..."

Roseia hearing her assistant ran to where he was and gasped "Are these the Hamlets?" she asked him as she watched and thought for a moment "hmm how weird, and what's with the flour there is an excessive amount of it even for a theatre, I mean it makes really bad snow" she sighed and looked to ten thinking a moment "Wait are they blind anyway forget that get out of there Dennis and if they are just people with sheets I'll be joining you on that vacation" she grinned and helped get him somewhere away from him "Hmm wonder if they were real, maybe I should've let you shoot one?" she looked to him for a moment and thought a second.

She looked to the manager who had come with her "Umm, there is one thing I'm concerned about, the Hamlet play, this happened long before I owed the play, the original Hamlet they call him despises any who try to play his role and Ophelia the female ghost is always searching for her lover so they can be reunited again" she said "They might be the ghosts you're talking about"

"Hmpf, if I shot one of them and they ended up being real, we'd be screwed for sure." Even still, he wished they could at least know if they were real or not. If so, they should probably call the Ghosthunters or something. Someone professional perhaps? Dennis looked at the manager now, his gaze curious. "The man we met before wasn't the real owner of this place, right? Why is that? Is he some kind of theater apprentice or the next higher up?"

Sarah shook her head. "Yes, something like that. He's actually my late cousin and he's always been interested in the performing arts all his life. He's supposed to run the theater when I eventually retire." She then turned to Roseia now. "The original Hamlet? The ghost of Ophelia? That's supposed to be kept a secret by the theater! How do you know of those things?"

Dennis adjusted his glasses. "Well it wouldn't be that hard to deduct if it was ever in the paper or something. And are you telling me that what we're dealing with here is a potential and genuine ghost?

Roseia nodded looking to him "Yeah, most likely, should be fun shouldn't it" she grinned at him and got to work on figuring out what to do next before ruffling her hair and pacing around in a circle. "We need to reunite them with each other, that'll satisfy them both will it not/" she looked to them both. "So can we have a ticket to tomorrow's Hamlet?" she asked and Sarah nodded handing it to her "Also Dennis we're both sleeping at the office today, plus you really need to learn how to use the couch bed properly it'd make it a whole lot more comfortable for you" she frowned at him.

Heading back to the office after that she sorted the bed out for them and got him to move some of the furniture. She did do this quite a few times especially if it was near a case location. "Ok then, let's try to get some sled before tomorrow evening, it starts at…. 5pm and we need to dress smartly as eel so do you have a suit?" she asked him knowing he did but felt the need to ask anyway. After receiving a reply she lay down on the bed and curled up with the blanket over her as she prepared to get some sleep.

Did he have a suit? "Of course I do," he muttered, turning over and trying to get some rest. He ended up getting only five hours of pure sleep anyway, but that was beside the point. And hey, that was a record for him anyway. Sure enough, 5pm the next day rolled around faster than either of them anticipated. Standing at the front of the theater, Dennis traded in his usual gray shirt and pants for a full on tuxedo, actually making an effort to dress up.

Adjusting his glasses, he sighed in annoyance. "So let me get this straight here Roseia. Instead of actually watching this thing, we're gonna instead somehow sneak in the back and reunite two ghosts during a live performance? When we don't even know what they look like? This...might not go well."

"Well you won't be sneaking in if you have my permission."

Sarah walked behind them, handing them another set of tickets. "VIP passes. Backstage. When you two are done be sure to stick around for the second half." Turning to leave, she paused to give them one more wave.

"By the way, you two look so cute together! See ya!"

At that, Dennis groaned and almost broke his glasses as his hand met his face. "Let's...just get this over with."

Roseia smiled having dressed up in one of the few dresses she owned "See, having such connections is very useful" she smiled at him "We can try such a thing during the break before the usual disappearing act and shouldn't be too difficult we just need to keep our eyes out for a grimy male ghosts and a heartbroken female ghost" she said to him bluntly "until then we can enjoy ourselves here and don't break your glasses I don't have your spare with me this time" she frowned at him "and what so bad about that comment anyway that you have to groan?" she questioned him.

Once they had gotten to their seats there was a load of chattering and noise before the actual play began. She watched the details in the background and then when the Ghost character appeared she frowned "That's a real ghost" she said to him frowning. The real one in the poster isn't almost see through" she said "But looks like he is simply playing along for the moment as fi to scare them" she whispered in his ear. Once the first half had finished she waited for a moment before they headed back stage and went to find the rap person who was meant to play the ghost, he looked terrified and was covered in flour "I think that explains the flour" she said to Dennis.

"Terrific...hey buddy? Aren't you supposed to be playing the role of Hamlet tonight?"

The man covered in flour was still shaking in fear as he looked up at the two detectives. "I-I was supposed to, yeah...but then this t-thing came out of nowhere and took my costume! I tried to get it back when this creepy lady with pale skin and blind eyes shoved me in the flour! Are you...are you guys cops?"

"Hm. Yeah something like that." Taking note of all this, Dennis turned to Roseia. "Well, that sounds like our next ghost. Ophelia, wasn't it?"

"Yes?"

A whisperery voice soft on the wind reached their ears and Dennis turned to aim his gun at the spectral being. It was the same ghost lady from the other day, this time bringing with her a gust of frigid air that sent the man in the flour into a fit of shivering.

"Um, Roseia? Bullets can't stop ghosts, right?"

"Old Hamlet" Roseia corrected him before she ruffled her hair a little and got to work finding the ghosts before Dennis spoke to her "Nope, they can't, we found one so let's try and find the other" she grinned at Dennis before speaking to the ghost "You're Ophelia right?" she asked it and it gave a grave nod "Where is my Hamlet?' it asked in a chilling voice "That's who we're trying to find" she said acting as calm as possible since the reality was that she was terrified at the moment deep inside. "Find him, bring him to me" she cooed before vanishing.

"Ok then Dennis let's go find Hamlet" she smirked and got to work searching the place to try and find Hamlet so he could be reunited with his fair Ophelia" she said to Dennis before she began to wonder around a little more trying to all for the ghost of Hamlet to appear "Hey Hamlet we have someone who's been looking for you want to meet her?!" she shouted and wondered around a little more before he appeared "Found you" she grinned.

The ghost of Old Hamlet looked their way before floating over to them. He looked kinda like Ophelia with pale skin and blind eyes. Disturbing yes, but hey at least they found him right? Dennis adjusted his glasses. "Er, Hamlet right? We've got your chick here if you two wanna...you know, see each other again and all that." Immediately upon finishing up, the ghost of Ophelia appeared before them and floated towards her long lost lover.

"Hamlet!"

The ghosts embraced warmly...or rather, as much as it was possible for two spectral beings to hug. The sight was interesting to say the least, as their arms almost went right through one another. Putting his gun away, Dennis looked at Roseia. "This is nice and all, but how do we send them back to the afterlife and make sure they rest in peace? We can't exactly bury them."
