Anybody out there interested in doing a 40k RP?

I'd prefer an Imperial Guard or Inquisition setting, but if people want to do another setting (Space Marines, Mechanicus, Orks), I guess I could crank something out.

The scenario in my head is as follows: The PCs are on a troop transport going towards the feudal planet Sisk. The PCs are either troops from different IG regiments or all new inquisitorial acolytes. The ship suddenly shudders and alarms start blaring, calling for all personnel onboard to abandon ship and to make for the life pods. The PCs all manage to get into the same life pod and land on the planet's surface. Once landed, they must figure out what is happening and make their way back to friendly lines.

I'd prefer if I had at least 2-3 people interested in this before I actually start this up. This is all based off a scenario I made from the "Only War" rulebook, so if anyone would want this taken to the tabletop board, I'd be happy to oblige (though I'm rather doubtful there's enough people who know about "Only War," much less have the rulebook, to do such a thing).

Imperator Protegit

EDIT: OOC is up!

I'd really really really like to be an Inquisitor's acolyte taken from the Adeptus Arbites.

I haven't done 40k stuff for a while, but I am suddenly interested in playing a guardswoman.

...Possibly from an armoured company if that's okay, but I will understand if it's not. ^^;

This is not either of those you mentioned, but would a techpriest be acceptable? It's not like there wouldn't have been at least one on the ship.

Techpreists can sometimes be in an Inquisitor's entourage, actually, so that could work, at the GM's discretion, of course. Really depends on if we're being an Inquisitor's group, or vanilla Imperial Guard.

I'm linking you to one of the most comprehensive sites for Warhammer lore I've ever found. It's helped me a ton when I've needed to brush up on something.

Lexicanum is better, wiki tends to repeat things in it´s articles, so you basicly ends up reading same thing over and over just in different words.

Techpriests are everywhere. Where there are machines, there are techpriests. XD

The Lexicanum is great and everything, but it's articles tend to have less information, generally speaking.

Yeah, true. I suppose there wouldn't be anything stopping you from being a Techpriest regardless of which option the GM chooses.

Elder Scrolls is no Warhammer! Articles about Failbaddon, Creed and C. S. Goto were pretty funny.

Not making a comparison, hah. Just saying. The article was actually really informative.

EDIT: This is a digression, however. I'm eager to see what the GM decides as far as our characters.

I don't mind if were playing guard or Inquisitor hencemen. That being said playing as Inquisitor hencemens allows players to make far more diverse characters.

I am, uh, trying to think of names that do not involve the number 8 in any way.

Oh, sacred Feth, I really didn't expect this much interest. Okay, answers time:

@Hillmouse: you can play a psyker. I was originally planning on playing a psyker and his handler, but go ahead. The more exploding heads and potential daemonic incursion, the merrier, eh? :D

@Rin: Sure, but don't expect a tank to fit in the escape pod with you. :P

@Raineh Daze: Techpriests are perfectly okay. They are in the IG, or rather, with the IG. See Engineseer.

Now that answer time is over, I think I'll allow people to play as their choice of Inquisitorial Acolytes or Guardsmen/women. Even Inquisitors (or just their entourage) have to ride coach sometimes.

Give me some time to write up character sheets and an OOC, probably about a day ('cuz I'm disorganized and lazy as hell).
