The Doctor was groaning as he lent on the console of the TARDIS. He was panting. He was sore and injured after his recent run in with the Master. He closed his eyes. He knew the pain was more bearable. He walked down to the medbay to find some medicine to ease his pain. It was still nothing compared to what the worst he had been through. The Doctor knew even if trouble followed him that taking it easy somewhere might be a good idea.

"Alright...," The Doctor said speaking to the TARDIS. "I think London earth is a good idea don't you." He had nobody else to talk to really. He wasn't sure how long he could stay out of trouble.
He knew that trouble always found him sooner or later. He flicked the switches on the TARDIS and pulled s few levers. He grinned as the TARDIS started up. He did always enjoy it when the TARDIS set off. The TARDIS took off through time and space.
He held on as best as he could. He didn't want to fall when he was already injured.

He landed the TARDIS in London. He opened the doors and stepped out. Least it was calm for now. It seemed that way anyway. He walked out and headed up to the libary to read. He knew that he needed to just relax. He knew his injures would heal in time. He just hoped that he didn't have to sleep it off too much. The time lord looked for a few books to read.
"Mmmmmm," he seemed to be muttering to himself. He really did miss travelling with somebody. It always seemed to keep him from making stupid decisions. If he hadnt been alone he might have not gotten injured like he did.

After he had a few books, He went and sat down on one the soft couches. He knew it was tempting to just fall asleep. Though he knew that he wanted to avoid that if he could. He picked up on of the books and began flicking through. He had his black glasses on. He was silent and just sat there. Occansionally the Doctor would look up to see what was going on. But other than that he seemed to just carry on reading.
He was lonley, but he didn't want to loose anybody else. That pain was sometimes just too much for him. He always ended up alone in the end. He just hoped the medicine would last long enough. He was still sore though and was sure he looked a little pale.

He knew it had been his own fault that he hadnt judged the Master's next move as well. He just tried to ingore it all. He closed his eyes for a bit. He refused to fall asleep encase anything happened.

Waking up was a pain, always a pain. The blonde hit her alarm clock with an annoyed thud as she pulled herself out of bed. Rebecca, Becky Johnson dealt with this all the time; but it was Saturday and she had things to do, places to go and people to see… okay not people to see but you get my point.

After rushing through her small apartment she shared with her mom she was hopping to get her shoes on while the tooth brush stuck out of her mouth. A smile moved across her face as her mom’s cheerful good byes echoed through the house and her father’s good bye echoed from the bedroom as he got ready for his day. She spit out the contents of her mouth into the bathroom sink as she finished up getting ready, grabbed her small purse and ran out the door. “Good bye!”

With that she ran out of the house and shut the door sprinting down the stairs and to the bus stop. Becky loved the feeling of being outside and would love it even more if the twenty four year old had the ability to travel but alas, money was always an object that caused a lot of problems. Climbing off the bus in her blue jeans and blue shirt she picked up a travel cup of tea and went to her first stop of the day; the library!

She wasn’t in school but she truly enjoyed the library because it was full of knowledge and that was something she loved. Becky loved to learn and had a passion for it, her current obsession was Pompeii. The library wasn’t too far away from the bus stop so getting there was a breeze even though it started to rain; typical London, always loved to get her wet. Sighing she stopped inside and pulled her purse from her head looking around. The big place was pretty well empty, something that never really surprised her. Shrugging, she ventured onward.

A small happy sigh left her as she allowed a bright smile to move across her full lips as she stopped at one of the tables, placing her small purse and her to-go tea cup down on a table before looking around. Her caramel colored eyes landing on a tall young looking man sitting on a couch with his eyes closed. Her eyebrow raised slightly as she looked at him, his brown suite and trench coat looked too clean to be a hobo and his stack of books would say he was either smart or he had a desire to learn like her and the glasses on the edge of his nose gave him a look of intelligence that she normally didn’t see; even in the library.

Shaking her head she pushed the thoughts from her mind as she went to a nearby ladder and set it up against the close bookshelf and began to climb. Once towards the top her fingers danced against the book’s spines trying to find what she was looking for. Her eyes brightened as she found one that said History of Pompeii, in excitement she gave the book a bit too hard of a pull and the ladder began to wobble, tilting back against her; a small shriek of fright left her as the ladder wobbled, one false move or jerk the thing could fall backwards and that… that would hurt a lot.

The Doctor opened his eyes when the young women walked in . He went back to looking at the book he had. He was curious by this girl and he wanted to introduce himself. He couldn't help it. He seemed to be interested in her. He really had more fun when he travelled with people. Though he knew that he was going to need to talk to her. He winced again and put his book down as he went to get something else to read.
He never seemed to bother checking books out. He just read what he could before he left. He had alot of books back on the TARDIS as well. He then heard her scream. He wondered whether he should look around.

The Doctor's gaze did turn towards the ladder. He saw it wobbling. He knew that she would fall unless he did something. He walked over to the ladder and stablized it holding it in place. He smiled a bit. "You should be more careful." he told her. "Wouldn't want you to fall."
He made sure the ladder wasn't wobbling so she could get down. "I got it, just climb down slowly." he was looking up at her. He could see the book she had in her hand. He was interested in the fact that she liked Pompei.

"Interested in Pompei hah?" He smiled . There was his usaul big goofy grin on his face. He winced from the pain again. He knew that it was going to hurt him to be standing up when he was injurerd. He though wanted to help her and was also interested in talking to her.
His gaze was focused on her to make sure that she got down safely. He didn't want the girl hurt. Least not if he could prevent it. He knew sometimes he wasn't quick enough and had to just see how things went.

The Doctor was trying to remain calm about the sitution as well "I like the history of pompei myself." he knew that he couldn't just say straight away that he could take her there, He wasn't sure she would believe him. Plus he didn't want to scare her away so soon.
Even if he just had somebody to talk to for awhile would be nice.
It felt like forever to him since he had talked to anybody. Well really it had been a long time. He knew that sometimes he really did need the company so he didn't go too crazy. He was looking around.

"I'm the Doctor ," He extended his hand to shake once she was safely down. He knew that he hadnt intended to meet anybody in the libary. He was kind of hungry by now as well. His stomach was growling as well.
He was waiting to see if she would say anything about his name. He knew that everybody did really. They always seemed to want to know his true name and often would ask if the Doctor was really his name. After so many years he was used to that.

Becky always thought that there was nothing more surprising than when things started to fall out from under you, but what turned out to be more surprising was getting caught by someone. When the ladder stopped wobbling, her gaze turned downward to see the good looking man she had been glancing over at (doing her best not to stare) had caught the ladder. A grateful smile moved across her full lips as her cheeks turned a shade of pink with embarrassment. She normally wasn’t clumsy; in fact she normally had wonderful balance but something about him just kind of, well, threw her off.

Climbing down the ladder upon his instruction, she gave him a smile keeping her book tucked tightly under her arm as she used both hands to stable herself on her way down. “Yes Pompeii, such a fascinating culture. Sad ending though but fascinating in its own right!” Her voice held an excitement like one would hear from a child who was asked what their favorite candy was or favorite Disney movie. She was a weird one though; she enjoyed certain topics for a length of time but it tended to lead her towards something else than her fascination is completely overtaken by that. Then something else pops up and she’s gone again. It’s not that she lacked discipline, an attention span or anything of that nature, she just learns until she wants to learn something new. Simple, right?

Once she was safely on the ground, she turned to face him. The fact that he introduced himself as ‘the Doctor’ made her beam. So he wasn’t just a pretty face, he had knowledge too. It takes a lot of time and training to be a doctor of something. Taking his large hand in her small one she shook it. “Pleasure Doctor, I’m Becky. What is your Doctorate in? Ancient cultures?” She asked guessing by his liking of Pompeii it seemed like a logical guess, even given his goofy nature, he came across as well educated. Before he could answer, the rumbling of his stomach echoed and she looked down, her eyebrows rose and she turned her caramel gaze back to his face.

“Maybe not a doctor of food.” She said playfully. “I don’t mean to be forward but do you want to go get something to eat? Books are always going to be here but a doctor is not someone I commonly run into. I’d love to pick your brain on some things if you have the time.”

The Doctor was looking at her. "Ah yes it is." He replied. He was happy that he could have somebody to talk to about history. He really wanted to tell her that he could take her there. He was focused on trying to ingore his pain. He knew that having something to do should take his mind off it.
He didn't want anybody noticing that he was in pain as he was sure they would suggest that he go to hospital, which wasn't a good idea. The Doctor still didn't think that his injures were that bad.

"Ohhh I am a Doctor of many things." Was his reply. He was surprised that she hadnt asked him his full name or anything like that. He knew she was interested to hear that he was a Doctor. He could tell she was a girl who wanted to learn.
He was glad she wanted to learn. He liked talking to people who wanted to learn.
The Doctor was sure she seemed ok, At least they had got through that without her being injured.

He just laughed "Ah I was too distracted by the books, I should have gotten food before hand I suppose." He was looking at her. "That sounds good," He hadnt had a chance to eat sincr breakfast really.

It would be good to have something in his stomach. He knew when he got busy he sometimes didn't think about food. "Some tea would be nice too." He replied. He was looking around where he was. He grinned a bit. He checked to see if he had any medicine in his pocket. Luckily he had remebered to grab that encase he needed it later, He smiled happily. "Been awhile since I had anybody to talk to actaully."
There was a lonley look in his eyes, He knew he didn't have any money on him to pay for food. The Doctor never had money on him. He always borrowed it if he really needed or found another way around it.
