[IC] Elder Scrolls: Danger of Discovery (EliteCommander and Luna)

[EliteCommander]

Once the fish was done cooking, Swims pulled it off of the fire and used his dagger to de-bone it. It took him a few minutes to finish, after which he divided the meat equally between himself and Veria. Since they didn't have plates, Swims placed his bag between them so they could eat off of it. It wasn't completely sanitary, but it was as close as they could get.

After the first bite, Swims found himself a bit disappointed with his own cooking. The burn had distracted him and he ended up keeping the fish on the fire for too long. It wasn't burned and was still perfectly edible, but it wasn't what it could be. "Ah, sorry about the fish. I think I might have overcooked it."

[Luna]

"Its ok my dad did it all the time whenever you came over remember" she said with a smile on her lisp as she finished her fish "Thats why my mom always cooked whenever it was just us, my dad was always such a show off or tried to be" she smiled and giggled as she remembered her home before she yawned. "Hmm we should get some sleep"

[EliteCommander]

Swims finished his meal about the same time as Veria. He nodded to her and packed away everything he could fit, other than his weapons and armor, into his bag. Swims laid down on the ground next to the fire, using his bag as a pillow. They did not have any proper bedrolls between them, but Swims felt he was probably tough enough to sleep on the ground. After all, they were adventurers; they did not need the comforts of civilization to survive.

Swims let out a yawn as he looked over to Veria. "Goodnight." He said, though with how excited he was about the next day, it would probably take a while for him to get to sleep.

[Luna]

She nodded "Goodnight" she rolled over facing the fire as she slowly fell asleep ingoring the sounds of howls that filled the night time air. The next day she woke up and sat up as the sun came up. She smiled and took a drink of water from her waterskin which kept her water cold over night before she went to get firewood to start a fire again so she could get breakfast made

[EliteCommander]

Swims-With-Pride awoke with a yawn, as well as an aching back. His sleep had not been entirely restful. Even if the dirt was moist, and not completely hard, it was far less comfortable than his bed back at home. He had tossed and turned all through the night, but he quickly discovered that it wasn't his only issue.

As Swims sat up, he felt something move in his bag. Looking at it curiously, he opened it up, only to have a rat sprint out from inside towards the bushes. Swims tried to cast a fireball at the vermin, but in his surprise and confusion, he couldn't concentrate enough to form even the smallest flame. The rat got away, but that wasn't what concerned him the most. As quickly as he could, he started taking their food supplies out of his bag and laying them out in front of him.

"Oh, come on. No, not this." Swims said, his voice sounding defeated. After he got all of the food out of the bag, he examined each item, then let out a sigh of resignation once he realized how much that rat had managed to get into. "Oh, by the Hist, can nothing go right? That little vermin got into my bag, into our food. I think...it looks like a third of our food supplies have been tainted by that little monster. There's no way we are going to get to the ruin on just this."

Swims rubbed his hands across his face and let out another sigh. "We might have to go back to Leyawiin for more supplies...unless, Veria, you have a bow. You can hunt, right? I mean, we shouldn't have a problem getting food, right?"

[Luna]

"Hmm I think I can hunt and maybe get revenge on that vermin for what he did, rat meat sounds good" she chuckled and grabbed her bow once the fire was going again. "I shall be back dont miss me too much ok" she said walking into the forest in the opposite direction of the river going after the rat that got away preparing her bow and arrow.Once she got the rat in her site and readied it and shot it. She cheered when it got in in the stomach and she walked up to it grabbing it returning to camp.

"Well look what I got hehehe the sucker didnt even see me coming until it was too late" she said happily

[EliteCommander]

While Veria was gone, Swims packed up the food that was still good and discarded the rest. It was disappointed that they were facing such setbacks so soon, but it they were going to find their riches, they would need to deal with some hardships. Fortunately, Veria returned not long afterwards with a successful kill. As she approached the fire, Swims smiled, then looked at the dead rat with a threatening expression. "Yeah, not so happy now, you little wretched vermin." He said, taunting the corpse of the pest.

Since a rat was hardly enough for a breakfast for two, Swims grabbed two oranges out of his bag, which had been untouched by the rat. It would still be a light breakfast, but they now needed to be very cautious with their supplies. As Veria started on cooking the rat, Swims let out a sigh. "So...we haven't really gotten out to the best start. Still, I'm hopeful. I think we should always make sure to have someone on watch at night from here on out. We can rotate between sleeping, or something." He suggested.

[Luna]

She nodded "Me too after all all we will need to get to a town soon or we will run out of food but I also want to get to the ruins and check them out" she said as she finished cooking and served him some of the rat meat before sitting beside him and ate her part of the rat meat. "But isnt this fun Swims I mean we had to have seen this coming sooner or later" she said with a smile

[EliteCommander]

Swims chuckled. "It will really be fun once we're carrying a load of riches back from the ruin, but yeah. This isn't over yet, it will only be a minor setback." He tossed Veria her orange, then started to peel his own with his claws. Honestly, the rat meat didn't look too appetizing, but with a good chunk of their supplies gone, he wasn't about to let it go to waste."

Grabbing his waterskin, Swims started on his breakfast. It was hardly some great feast, but something about it made him feel good. The fact that Veria had killed the rat herself made it feel like they were living off the land like true adventurers. While they were eating, Swims decided to strike up more casual conversation. "So, once we get the treasures out of the ruin and sell them, what are you going to buy with your gold?"

[Luna]

"Hmm maybe use it to upgrade my things, armour and all then buy some food" she said. "What about you what do you plan on doing with your gold after we sell the riches and stuff from the ruins we go to" she asked looking at her friend/crush but she kept her mind out of the gutter to hear what he had to say about what he was going to do with the gold he was going to get once they do sell the riches from the ruins

[EliteCommander]

"Well, I think it depends on how valuable our find is. I think your plan is a good one. Buying some new equipment would help us get even more treasures. Still, if we find something really valuable, then, well, I'll have to think about it a bit more." Swims responded, smiling lightly at Veria. There was something about looking at her he enjoyed, something that seemed...nice. This was always what made him feel like there could be something more between them, but, just like always, it made him afraid. He was Argonian, and she was Human. He wasn't supposed to find her beautiful...was he? He quickly tried to shake off the thoughts and stood to his feet after he finished his meal. "Well, at any rate, we should probably get moving." He said as he started to pack up his things. After a few minutes, they were all packed and ready to go.

Over the course of the next few days, the pair made progress, but not as much as they would have liked. They continually fell short of their expectations for how far they would make it in a day, and Swims worried that it was all his fault. While walking in his armor, he just could not keep up with Veria. He was constantly tired, and even though me made a little more progress each day than the last, it was still not enough. They tried spacing out their food as much as possible, but they were still at least two days short of Blankenmarsh by the time they were out of food.

The sun had not yet set, but the pair had already set up camp and got a fire going. Swims body was aching, and he was hungry. Going through his bag, however, all he could find was an apple. A single apple. There was not one other edible thing left between them. Swims sat down beside his bag and groaned. "Well, this is all we have left, and there are still at least two more days to go before we get to Blankenmarsh. We are going to have to hunt for something, we have no real other choice." Swims commented.

[Luna]

"Perhaps I should start searching then cause my bag is completely empty except for my clothes and my waterskin" she said looking at her friend in worry before going out into the woods. After an hour of searching she had no luck of finding nay animal but spotted some plants that she read about that were edible. She had grabbed some with her small human hands and walked her back to camp. "Hey Swims I found some edible plants we could eat but I was unable to sot anything to hunt, sorry" she said looking at her hungry friend wishing she could be more of use to him than what she was right now, she sometime hated being human it made her weak and sometimes very useless regardless of what others told her. She handed him half the plants she picked out and sat down eating her half.

It was good but not very filling like she had expected as soon as she finished her plants. She grabbed her waterskin and drank the last of her water. "I didn't see a river anywhere so that means the one water we have in what is left in your waterskin Swims" she said

[EliteCommander]

Swims also looked around the area while Veria went out to hunt. His sense of smell was better than that of a Human, but even so, he had no luck. He thought he caught the scent of a rabbit somewhere nearby, but the scent went in two directions and he had no idea which way to go. He returned to their camp shortly before Veria. At least she had managed to find something to eat, though it wasn't much. Swims preferred meat to plants, but he wasn't about to complain. Any food would be good by this point. He used his dagger to divide their last apple in half, then ate it along with his share of the plants that Veria found.

"We can share my waterskin for tonight." Swims said, taking a drink before offering it to her. "I'm not really that concerned about water. There are rivers and lakes everywhere in the Blackwood Forest. Even if there aren't any in the immediate area, we are bound to find one as we travel. And if we really need it, we can always start heading west until we hit the Niben river. It is a bit of a detour, but it would work. Our situation with food isn't...ideal, but it's not like we are going to starve to death in two days. We'll just need to keep an eye out when we're on the road."

[Luna]

She nodded. "I agree, a minor detour will not hurt us and its not like we will starve either which agree with, lets do that we head for the niben river and then make our way back here once we have what we need from there" she said as she pulled out a map. "Hmm how far is the Niben river Swims" she asked unable to really read the map

[EliteCommander]

"I'm not sure, but I don't think we need to worry about it tonight." Swims responded. "My waterskin should have enough for tonight. If it takes too long for us to find a river tomorrow, we can head west. For now, I just feel like resting. All that walking just takes so much out of me. We can just sit here and talk, not worry about anything."

Swims sat down by the fire and let out a sigh. He lethargically began to undo the straps on his armor so he could remove it and change into his other clothes. "You know, I told you before that I'd like to visit Black Marsh. Is there anywhere in Tamriel you would like to see? Like Skyrim, the home of your father's people, the Nords?"

[Luna]

"Hmm how about the Nord I never been there I been told about them by my father but not much I am very curious about them" she said sitting down letting her armour off for a little while before laying down on the ground looking up at the evening sky as the sun was setting for the night waiting for the next day to come around

[EliteCommander]

Swims nodded. "I've heard some things about Skyrim. It does sound like an interesting place, even if it is cold. I wonder if the dragons they have up there are anything like the stories I've heard?" He asked. As Veria began to remove her armor as well, found that he couldn't help but to watch, even if he tried to make it seem like he wasn't. He and Veria had practically grown up together, so changing in front of each other was nothing new. They went swimming together all the time, so it wasn't as if they were unused to seeing each other in their underwear. Still, recently, he couldn't keep his eyes off of her. He didn't know why he was starting to feel this way, but he was still convinced that it would never work, that it wasn't meant to be. For himself, he finally managed to get out of his iron armor. It was always a long and annoying process. Each plate had to be removed individually, each strap untied, then tied back again once he put it back on. It always seemed to be an ordeal, but at least he was getting used to it.

[Luna]

She sighed and nodded "Me too, I heard the a dragon called Alduin destroyed a small town called Helgen when they were in the middle of executing the leader of the Stormcloaks at least what my mom said" she said with a smile as she sat down blushing somewhat embarrassed she knew about these things since she was a female and most females never got the chance to know things like she did

[EliteCommander]

Once out of his armor, Swims laid down beside Veria, looking up at the sky along with her. "Yeah, I heard bits and pieces about that. I think some hero came by and stopped him, though. It seems that happens a lot throughout history. An ambitious adventurer comes by and takes on the most fearsome of foes, prevailing against all odds. I wonder if we'll end up being heroes like that? Wouldn't that be something? Two friends from humble beginnings go out into the world and save it from a threat no one else can face; it would be a story for the ages. The only thing that would make it better is if we started out as prisoners or something." He said with a chuckle.

[Luna]

She chuckled "That would be cool, but remember the hero almost died from battling the fearsome dragon and that he battled many other dragons collecting their sols, I doubt we will ever be able to do that but maybe along the lines we can be heros as well" she said with a smile on her lips as she looked up at the sky as well. She smiled and looked at him "Lets try to be the best heros this place has ever seen" she said
