Like many, they opposed the Unification, and were ultimately defeated, being placed under the vassalage of House Vearin.
But the longest and most hated enemy was not the Overlord, but the Bitterbrews, whom they had shared an intense rivalry. Jon II's late father, Kent, had declared war on the Bitterbrews after decades of blood feuding, a rivalry that, while felt bitterly by most members of either House, did not concern a signifigant amount of people at either court.
In the final battle of their war, both Lords of the Houses were slain, leaving Jon to inherit House Barleycorn, and Eliza to inherit House Bitterbrew. Neither shared particular zeal for the fued, and as the Bitterbrews were losing, Eliza offered her hand in marriage, and a union between their Houses, that the bloodshed might cease. Jon was more than happy to see an end to the fighting, though he wasn't sure what to make of his new wife.
The two have managed to repair most the war's damage, and now attempt to rule their lands as best as they can. Though there is still a divide between the Barleycorns and Bitterbrews, the sight of their two heads being married has made many reconsider the fued.

Ulric has all but decided to send him to the clergy in Bernwick.
Laurence, the youngest son, is a shy and scrawny lad. He looks as though he might faint anytime someone says hello, and spends much of his time in the woods alone, playing with the animals. In this regard, he is seen as childish, and Ulric is struggling to send him on a useful path in life.

Was hoping to have the map finished tonight, but looks like you'll see it tomorrow morning/afternoon. Effed up a bit, with fief numbers being legible, not-thick-enough-borders, and overestimating land sizes, so it needs some work. Otherwise, got the IC all planned out, so the start date of this should be Tuesday. Everything ought to be ready by tomorrow, but some old friends came into town, and we're opening up the Game of Thrones boardgame and cajousing all day.

Since Swordsmen cost 25 to arm, and your annual income is 100,000, you can buy 4,000 Swordsmen.When the game starts, you will have a starting treasury of 100,000 bullis, and an armory of 4,000 Longswords and 4,000 Mail Armours.

Edit: hmm.. Not to be a hassle, but.. It seems as if one of my fiefs are missing. I see twelve, yet Cole has five, Aldran has six, and.. That other guy (i'll get his name down eventually, I promise) has two, which should bring the total to thirteen.

I didn't add "March of the Mishfarden" to Aaldorenfeald's NS, and yet Aaldorenfeald covers the entirety of Lundland's border with Mishfarden...? Should I just add another 16 points worth of stuff to my sheet to keep you from having to redo the map?

Like with the Bordering Bogans thing last game, you don't have to worry about that. Your vassals cover the whole border, but your House itself is safe. There was simply no where else to put you, and I did the best I could. I do apologize.

I just noticed that myself. I didn't want to put House Bernaccia by the sea to begin with, but it looks like I'll have to make room in their military for them. They don't need too much, I believe.

Also, I decided to just not to the food taxes. If some people didn't take away the population from their fiefs for their towns, meh. If there are any mistakes and FLooby doesn't care, ...then I don't either. I just made sure I followed Flooby's letter to the end.
Edit: Flooby... could you recount the fiefs for mine? I only count 18, but the map keeps showing 20. You could easily give me 197 and 198, take away 210, 209, 208, and 212 and make things a little more structural for others; IF the map is saying 20, that is.

I do care, but some people organized their sheets differently. Reason I haven't been too harsh on it is because, so long as the receipts are right, then I won't have to do anything special when I copy the stats from this to the OOC. That's what I meant when I said I'd be handling most of the stuff in-game; I'm going to be keeping everyone's sheets updated for them in the OOC OP.
I did say that I couldn't guarantee anyone's spot on the map.
But I couldn't give/take away those fiefs, because those are Lord Aldran's fiefs, and they must be located on the coast. Western coast space is precious.
Also, you're right, there's 20 fiefs, while you and your vassals only have 19. I'll fix that.
Also, there's no need to fix anything on your sheet. No need to stress yourself out over this editing business.
EDIT: Is fix problem. Fisher are now have fief of name Shipwreck Beach. Flooby is of tired and are resting need. Night good!

Besides, I specifically requested that location - plus those two territories, if I'm not mistaken, belong to House Hastings. And for whatever reason he has decided to have an excessive number of troops for his size, so it wouldn't be that easy.

It would mean we share the southern border, and my kingdom would be a bit more centralised rather than being stretched out thin like it is at the moment. Would mean I lose a border with House Vearin, which might have been done so on purpose. But only if it is easier, you're doing enough work as it is (side note; I like how you've taken the colours on our house sigils into account when making the map, it was a nice touch).
Also, if anyone wants to set up an alliance with House Harvestar, I'm all ears.

By the way, I counted 16 fiefs in the map when I count 17 in the profiles.

I made the placements as they were to reflect the histories of every player's and vassal's histories. You're so spread out because the eastern half of your land is entirely occupied by House Summer, whose lands are very fertile. To your south is House Wyot, who was charged about a decade ago with helping defend against the Giants, which they'd already been doing as paid mercenaries for some time.
Also, didn't factor in the colour when it came to Jorvik's land, if only because last game he was light pink.
Fear the mighty, pale pink vikings! ;P
EDIT: Fix't it, Bikriki. I expect these sorts of things to take up most of my morning.
