She nodded, picking up her bag. "Let's go, we need to cover as much ground as we can. My home needs us soon" bane raised an eyebrow as they headed out, rolling his neck for the long run they had

"I know. I've heard about your village being in trouble before, but at first I thought it was just rumors. Hearing it from you confirms it though. So we need to hurry," James said. He was the first one out the door.

They ran thru the trees, Bane keeping his senses open for the hunters after Megumi. Megumi however was mentally back in her village. She was worried they weren't going to get there in time to save her home. When she closed her eyes for a moment a image of a village a blaze flashed in her mind. She heard screams and yelling as people ran for their lives. But she saw snow on the ground...but it was early summer? Megumi stumbled and caught her foot on a branch, causing her to trip and at that speed was not good. Bane saw her crumple and yelled "James! Megumi!"

James was over next to her in an instant, and caught her before she could fall. "You okay?" he asked, after catching her. He had activated one of his custom jutsu just in time, specifically the wind one that increased his speed. There was a slight wind blowing past as he caught her.

Megumi was breathing hard, a few heads of sweat running down her face. "I think so...I have no clue what just happened...thanks for the save" she rubbed her head, the image fresh in her mind.

James nodded. "If you need me to carry you, I can," he said, as he helped her stand back up on the branch.

She shook her head and said "I'm alright..." Bane landed next to them and said "hate to rush the party, but those hunters are back. About four miles behind us. We have to move now"

James nodded. "You two go on ahead. I'll catch up after I ambush them," he said. "I'm gonna get rid of them." He smirked. "I'm gonna make sure they're too scared to come after us. Bane, remember that jutsu I showed you that I shouldn't use near a village?"

[MegaraFoxfire]

Bane nodded then siad "James, that's too risky. What if you get caught off guard? YOu can't use your other senses when you use that thing"

"I know, but I'll be fine. It targets anyone allied with the target too, remember?" James said, looking at him. "And besides, if it doesn't kill all of them, then it'll obliterate the one I target completely, so the others will be scared away."

[MegaraFoxfire]

Bane nodded and said "We will wait for you at the road cross...be careful" He took off and Megumi said "Thank you..." She followed Bane, hoping James would be alright.

James nodded, then turned and started moving towards the ones that were following them, stopping once he could hear their movements.

Megumi went with bane, worry in her eyes.

The three landed in front of James, the man in the hood in the middle. "If you hand over the girl we will be on our way. We have no problem you. We just need the girl"

James sighed. "Sorry, but you can't have her. If you want her, then you'll have to kill me," he said, looking at them as he held multiple kunai between his fingers, little strings of chakra attached to each one.

The hooded ninja walked forward and said "Do you know what she is? What danger she brings? She's not just another ninja hunted for her skills. She has an evil locked within her...one that has already taken a village..." His eyes glowed under his hood.

Bane paused and looked back, panting a little. "COme on JAmes...what are you waiting for?" MEgumi stopped as well, looking back.

A message appeared burned into the ground in front of Bane. Go on without me. I'll catch up.

"Heh...so she's a jinchuriki, eh? All the more reason to protect her." James grinned. "So, as I said before, you're not getting her without killing me."
