So. A reworking of several ideas past and present, with some of the mechanical philosophies reminiscent of more unusual NRPs.

The basic premise is this: there are 6 (7) predefined planes of existence that make up the world. This includes the Mortal World. Every player takes control of one plane with a demonic or otherworldly champion of their design, providing it fits with the style of their chosen plane. There would only be one player per plane, as to give an immediate sense of ownership, and you must make it your goal to scheme or fight your way to domination of all existence.
Of course, the 'Mortal' Plane would work a little differently. Whoever chose this would likely end up simply trying to survive in the earlier stages of the game, with the rest fighting over them. You would not control a demonic champion, but rather a renowned and very powerful warlord who has so far united the tribes of Humans to rally. And heck, might even be able to have multiple players in the Mortal world; it all depends how much interest something like this would generate.

Anybody interested? Anybody have their attention piqued by something like this?

I like the idea I'd definitely play this as long as it was set as a high casual to advanced environment.

You can count on it being placed in advanced.

Potentially interested. I was a fan of the Lords of Ruin thread and this has some elements in common.

Though I wish you would just reboot the Lords of Ruin, I want to break out Evarast again.

Now, now. Who is to say it isn't necessarily set within the same IP? :O

Oh? So his particular realm could exist in this?

Not exactly. Demon Factions should be built around the plane you choose to claim. I'm still in the process of building them, though. Besides, anything done here would be chronologically prior to Ruin, so if Evarast was around, he, at best, has yet to become extremely powerful. Champion leader of a faction, however... could definitely be done.

So it would be Evarast before he gained the power to shape an entire plane of existence around himself and his ideals? But could still be the same character.

In theory, yes. If you can come up with a contrived enough explanation for his existence in one of the predefined planes. I'll keep you posted.

You said this was a precursor to Lords of Ruin. Wouldn't it make sense for the lords of ruin to all exist prior to their rise?

It would, but not everybody was in Ruin. I'm keeping it accessible to all by not making too many links. Still, you can probably work him in with some clever thinking; I see no problem with it.

I was also in Lord of RUins and very much liked it, sadly it fell apart to quick, lack of a story and so forth.

I might be interested in this. :K

Could definitely be interested in this. Would an animistic "Nature" plane inhabited by spirits (of the totemic variety) be an acceptable Plane for a faction to draw from?

Indeed. The Planes have now been designed, and you sound like you'd be interested in Fél Válásí, The Eternal Verdance. It's essentially a sprawling jungle that stretches further than any mortal forest could; considered wholly evil by some, and simply nightmarish to others, it has the potential to host a myriad of demonic beasts that draw inspiration from the more natural aspects of beasts.

Do the inhabitants nessecarily have to be "demonic"? I was aiming toward being more themed around nature spirits, shamans, shapeshifters and ferocious beasts.

By all means. I'm using 'demonic' in the broadest sense of the word. In reality, it simply means otherworldly

So more like Outsiders, like in Forgotten Realms or D&D?
