With the mob dispatched, Charlotte turned back to the man who was, like Lee, decidedly bowless. "Not a lot of somebodies out here, are there? You trying to get bow guy's attention too? Guy saved my skin a bit ago, wanted to repay the favor."

Jagred - Roll of 11 +2 Steady +1 Bow = 14. Success!
The arrow pierced yet another skull cleanly and quietly. As the dead fell, Jagred would notice an athletic drawstring bag lying discard in the hallway. Then loos fabric made it obvious that there was something inside.

It seemed the girl had it all under control though, the Walker dropping like a puppet with its strings cut when she caved its skull in. “No, and no. Saw a lady up on a roof around here with a rifle though. Assumed she was looking at all the commotion that’s been going on. Not quite sure which building she was on though now that I’m actually here, so I figured why not try and get her attention.” Having explained all that, he finally remembered to introduce himself. “Name’s Alex by the way. Nice job with the bat,” he said, catching the crowbar with his left hand as he stuck his right out for a handshake.

Michelle had, of course, heard the "Anybody there?" call, and wondered who would be stupid enough to yell in a walker-infested place like this. Such a thing would only lead to death, or worse, becoming one of them. She scanned the area to locate the idiot, and spotted him in an alleyway that was behind the building she was on. He was already being attacked by a walker, but the biker girl from earlier had already come to give him a hand.

Michelle looked through her scope as they talked. She had no intention of going down there, for multiple reasons. Michelle sighed, and decided that it was time to move on. She wasting valuable daylight, and she needed some food and water if she was going to survive. She went over to the ladder and looked down, checking for walkers. Seeing nothing close enough to be a threat, she decided it was safe enough and climbed down, then crouched to sneak, trying to avoid detection, moving cautiously.

Michelle - Roll of 3 +0 Swift = 3. Failure.

As Michelle walked slowly through the alley, part of her pack bumped a beer bottle that had been laying on its side on top of a closed dumpster in the alley. The bottle rolled off and shattered on the ground. The response was instant, and she could hear moaning immediately after the noise. Three walkers backtracked from their trip to the other noise, and turned the corner into her escape route.

Michelle winced when the bottle shattered, and now there were three walkers in the way. She had two options: shoot them down, or run away. She aimed down her rifle and fired, intending to take them all down. Fortunately, her rifle was silenced, so she didn't hopefully have to worry too much about the noise.

After the corpse dropped to the floor, Jagred rushed over to retrieve the bolt. Ammunition was rare in these parts, mostly since the VP had already picked the entire block clean. Ever since his arrival, he had tried to salvage what he could, but nothing worthwhile turned up. However, it seemed his luck had taken a different turn. Jagred quickly reloaded the bloody bolt, then moved toward the bag of loot.

Pulling his hand away and placing it on his "weapon", Alex quickly turned to orient himself towards the distinct sound of gunfire. The dullness to the sound made him think the weapon probably had a suppressor of some sort, but it was practically impossible to make a rifle actually shoot silently. At a distance he would have had a hard time trying to pin point exactly where the shot had come from, but it was rather easy when it sounded like the shot was so close. That and the fact that a Walker on the street seemed to have changed its path from the still sounding car alarm to, what he assumed was, the rifle lady. "Well, that's a somebody I guess. You don't have to come along, but I'm going to try and help out. Don't want her bringing down more Walkers with every shot now." With that, he moved out towards the street quietly, aiming to sneak up behind the Walker that'd just passed by and bash its skull in from behind.

"Wait," she grabbed his arm and held him back for a second, "Down this main street," she pointed the direction toward the highway, "There's a side street that ends in a cul-de-sac. Me and another guy have set up camp, at least temporarily. It's safer that direction, just be cautious and don't look like a threat. Maybe I'll see you later," she turned and went the other way down the alley, to continue working her way behind the buildings, as he went out to the street.

She went around the back until she found the short apartment building that looked like the right one. It was close to the truck, and had the fire escape that he had climbed up, anyway.
Charlotte found the back door locked, but the little viewing window had been smashed in, and she was able to open it through the hole. She was immediately confronted with a walker, and she raised her bat and swung.

Michelle - Roll of 6 +3 Steady +1 Rifle = 10. Success!
Roll of 11 +3 Steady +1 Rifle = 15. Success!

The bullet passed cleanly through the first walker's skull, and it immediately collapsed to the ground. Each shot was accurate and swift, and in a matter of seconds there was a pile of true dead on the ground.

Alex - Roll of 10 +1 Hard +1 Melee = 12. Success!
The crowbar made a dull thud as it squashed the walker's head, clearing the path for Alex.

Jagred
Inside the bag, Jagred would find a box of granola bars, a can of dog food, and 7 loose rifle bullets.

Charlotte Melee roll: 8 +3-Hard +1-Melee=12. Success!
Charlotte struck the walker and collapsed its skull, killing it instantly. Its now dead body then collapsed onto the ground.
Michelle sighed in relief, then checked her clip to see how many bullets she had left in it. 3 left. Putting the clip back into the rifle, she began to search the corpses of the walkers she had just killed. Chances were that they had next to nothing valuable, but it was better safe than sorry. She also made occasional glances around her as she searched them just to make sure that nothing was sneaking up on her.

The bag turned out to be one of Jagred’s best find that entire week. Food had always been a luxury since the whole walking corpses deal, snack even more so. Frankly, he was sure he remembered the taste of a granola bar correctly. After hastily stuffing the entire box into his backpack, he continued searching through the bag, crossbow forgotten on the floor. A can of dog food turned up, along with several bullets for what he could only assume a very big pistol. Jagred had never been much of a gun nut, never felt the need to be. With his financial state before the outbreak, he wouldn’t been able to afford a pair of shoes, let alone a weapon. However, he took the bullets anyway, as well as the dog food. Desperate time called for desperate measures, and besides, he wasn’t exactly picky about his food.

The wet, crunching sound of a skull being bashed in jerked him back into reality. Immediately, he reached for the crossbow, before turning toward where the noise had come from. No one was there, but he was sure he heard something. Again, the dead didn’t use weapons, so there must be another survivor around. Jagred narrowed his eyes, then decided to move toward the noise, steps light and bow ready. Sometimes, it was the living you had to look out for.

Nodding in understanding, Alex muttered, “Hopefully,” before he continued onto the street. Dropping the Walker took little effort for him, the creature slumping to the ground after he caved in its skull. Given its condition, Alex didn’t bother with trying to loot it for now. He doubt anything it carried was worth scrounging through the rotting corpse, but he might consider coming back after the rifle lady was safe. Given the lack of gunfire after the initial three, he could only assume she had taken care of the immediate threats. Moving ahead towards the alley on the street, he kept his eyes peeled for any other Walkers that might have been hidden behind cars or the like.

Michelle: Loot roll check: 5, 6, 1. 2 Successes for finding loot, 1 Failure. Rolls for type of loot: 8 (melee/thrown item), 5 (luxury). Penalty for luxury items incurred.
Michelle Sharp check: 5 +2=7. Partial Success!

While Michelle was looking around her, she saw nothing coming near her, but her main task was searching the corpses, so she might have missed something. Fortunately for her, there was nothing around that was a serious threat. Unfortunately, Michelle found nothing useful on the corpses apart from one simple screwdriver lodged in a walker's torso. She decided not to take it out and keep moving.
Alex Sharp check: 7 -1=6. Failure!
Unfortunately for him, Alex failed to noticed a walker on the ground between two cars until he walked past the location and it tried to grab his leg in an attempt to pull him down and eat him.

“Shit.” He felt the hand wrap around his leg and try and pull him to the ground. Planting his other foot firmly to keep his balance, Alex tried to pull his caught leg free while swinging his crowbar down at the Walker that had eluded his notice.

Charlotte let the body drop to the ground, pulling her spiked bat free. She heard creaking from up above, and held her bat at the ready as she crept to the stairs. She started up, taking them slowly, but knowing that her footsteps were creaking just as badly as whatever was approaching her. The sounds got louder, and closer, until she was at a turn in the stairwell, and she jumped around the corner with a battle cry, her bat over her shoulder. Her cry died in her throat as she saw, finally, Bow Guy. Crossbow Guy, actually, aforementioned weapon aimed handily at her as she stood on the stairs below him.

"Uh," she said lamely, bat still held unconsciously over her shoulder in a swinging position, "Hi."

Alex's foot came free as he yanked, putting him off balance so that his crowbar came down on the pavement instead.

Stumbling backwards, he didn’t mind so much that he had missed given he was now free to back away from the Walker. Glancing around as he stepped away and out of reach to make sure nothing else sneaked up on him, Alex carefully closed the gap between him and the creature. Ready to strike, he wouldn’t mess up this time.

Stairs creaked, especially old ones. Jagred had found the sound adoring before, as it reminded him of the house he grew up in, but now in this particular setting, it was a nuisance. He frowned as he descended the steps, keeping his foot as light as possible. However, the wooden panels groaned just the same, and he feared for his cover. Fortunately, no corpses appeared to be waiting around at the foot of the stairs, else they would have come running by now. Then where was the noise from earlier? Hopefully from somewhere else in the building, as stairs were often not ideal fighting positions. Awful footholds, not to mention the awkward firing angel.

Just as he was reaching the turn in the stairwell, Jagred heard another creak. He stopped dead in his track. That was not his. He only got time to aim the crossbow straight ahead when a loud shout reached his ears. The dead had always been quiet, so this one really took him by surprise, his finger almost pulled the trigger when a figure appeared, carrying a bloody bat, and was most definitely not a corpse. Jagred stopped himself just short of putting a bolt in the newcomer’s ribcage, and once he recognized who she was, he knew he would have regretted it if he had been slower.

“Oh, you.”-In response to the young woman’s awkward greetings, Jagred uttered, still haven’t got over his initial shock. Once he realized his weapon was still pointed at her, he lowered his arms, swallowing dry before taking a few steps toward.-“Quite an entrance there. Love the scream.”-His lips formed a half-smiled, but no sarcasm sipped into his voice.

Alex - Roll of 9 +1 Hard +1 Melee = 11. Failure. No, wait, the other one. Success!

The crowbar came down and smashed the creature's head with a satisfying sound.

Charlotte swallowed hard, and also finally lowered her weapon. "Yeah," she said sheepishly. "Thanks. Battle cry, y'know." She stepped back down to the ground level as Bow Guy made his way down the stairs toward her. They stood on the ground floor together now, and Charlotte wasn't completely sure what to do. She stood for a moment, bat swinging lamely at her side. Finally she spoke.
"Name's Charlotte. Great to finally meet you. It was you, right? Who was watching out for me on the highway?"
