In the RP Ridge originated from, he was so strong that the only person who ever even defeated him in combat was one of the rulers of the entire omniverse, and Ridge even had help from two other people with OP powers like him. Other than that moment, he has never been incapacitated by anyone. His alter ego could wipe out universes at a time alone, and without a scratch. Maelstrom was basically a god. No matter who was in control, he could fight without ever being present in a battle. If I had to choose anyone I'm familiar with that could stand up to either party in discussion here, it's him. You can imagine how nerfed he is from his RP of origin.

Superman will probably need to be nerfed. Based on what I know from Superman
Mtntopview
Unfortunately, that seems likely. As much as I love the guy, his powers pretty comfortably sit in "plot device" territory. Though, really, it depends on the author, so anything's possible.

I was going to treat him like the Justice League animated TV series did. He was getting his butt kicked by the likes of Solomon Grundy, just because he held back THAT much.

"Solve" doesn't necessarily mean "end the fight". "Solve" can just as easily mean "get away from the angry man with a sword" or "manage to said angry man pause, only to find yourself in an even worse situation". Frankly, if a full-power Nono is allowed under a gentleman's agreement that she won't instantly end every fight, I don't know why the guy who can somehow defend himself with a plunger, a thermos of soup, and a rubber chicken shouldn't be.

You may have to slightly adjust personality then. In a multiverse RP, I'd imagine that there will be tons of situations where holding back wouldn't be reasonable since, for example, nothing whatsoever is around. I know of an instance were Supes took the opportunity where he wasn't on Earth and released all restraints. At least one. I'm not even much of a DC Buff, I just heard that from a friend.

If it means anything, there's also a lot more magic around in this RP thus far than the DCU usually sees, so that's a factor too. It would be awesome to see Supes in this really, if we can get him to work. XD

There's also that fact that he's holding back because he doesn't want to kill whoever he's fighting. He's pretty adverse to death, and has only killed on very rare occasions; even then, he feels absolutely terrible about it for a long time.

Perhaps he could have some limiter device given to him by the UMMA to keep him from going too overboard or something. I dunno, I'm just trying to restart my imagination.

I'm still considering Thor too. We could do the classic dream matchup: Superman v. Thor.

I'd be happy to oblige by any limitations you guys set. It doesn't really matter how strong Superman is: just the fact that he's Superman will suffice for me.

A battle for the ages, and a discussion that could last hours. The two are pretty evenly matched, I believe. EDIT: Hehe. If the Sentry is as powerful as they say he is (which, based on what I've read, he usually isn't), he would probably beat Supes.

The Sentry's basically a less moral Superman. The last time they went up against one another (without Thor being juiced up with the Odinforce), The Sentry won.

I suppose. I don't know much about the details in DCU like that. All I know is that this version of Superman wouldn't ever be accepted. Not even in... One Million years. ... Bad joke alert.

There's a very simple solution to the Supes issue here: how close is Yggdrasil to a yellow sun?
