On May 3, 2018, thirty thousand Japanese players of the popular MMORPG Elder Tale found themselves trapped in -- or a world startlingly similar to -- the game.

"Huh this is new" he muttered to himself as she slowly got up. "This is not my crappy apartment that's for sure" he added looking around what could only be described as a ruined city. Stretching his arms and exercising his joints he grunted to himself "no pain huh yet still these old man joints of mine protest." Raven muttered to himself as he walked around one hand grasped firmly on the dagger tucked in his belt. While walking he let go of the dagger to grab onto a edge and pulled himself up with a grunt. Looking at the area it screamed de ja vu to him. "You know either my old eyes are getting to me or I am literally my character from elder tales which would make this Akihabara" Muttering to himself some more he leaned back against a nearby wall when the menu popped up. This is interesting so we have the menus as well he thought as he tried to log out but to no luck. Standing up he surveyed the area noticing a few key people in the crowd such as the "devil in glasses" tripping if the large white coat and staff was anything to go by. Though he also spied the underwear crazed guardian that was Naotsugu. Haven't seen them since the days of the tea party he thought thinking about running up to them but changed his mind and went to wander off. People knew who he was he thought there was going to be messages from them shortly.

Yang blinked from his spot on the ground with no idea how he got there. He looked around, taking in all the confusion and chaos. Wherever the hell he was, it sure wasn't the Beijing server. Recalling the steps in his head, he had gotten home earlier after finishing something a school with his brother. He called his girlfriend about something that was slipping his mind and started playing Elder Tales. There was a ton of pre-Novasphere Pioneers hype and many of his "students" were asking him about it as if he was a developer. He could only polity turn them down as they made a rainbow of emotes into the chat.

After that he went to the guild hall and dumped most of the junk that was filling up his inventory along with a good part of his fortune into the bank. He made a habit of not keeping too much money on his character incase he was jumped by a pack of PK-ers. Or if Gaigin from his guild, <Orbital Seekers> decide to play a trick on him that involved a hole dug too deep.

Another round of questing with his newer students and grinding out subclass levels with fellow Alchemists and Potion makers.
"Yang, you finished with the Alvian Oil?" one of his colleague's typed into chat, tiny magical fires burning as his character flipped through the pages of an old potion book.
"Yeah, I'm done with it. Also done with the blackpowder." Yang typed in as his character moved to hand the old ceramic pot from his inventory to his colleague.
"Don't forget to keep it in safe storage! lol" his colleague typed in as his character stuck out his tongue and bopped itself on the head.
"Dude, -_-; ", Yang was less then amused after some recent events that had transpired, "I'll keep it on me until tomorrow, I need sleep anyways. Damn Cui-Laoshi and her tests D:"

With that, Yang logged off and jumped onto his bed, already in his sleepwear. Within seconds, his lights were out and his body snugly under the covers. His mind wandered as he thought of the test, his game plans and his date with his girlfriend. As he thought of a mix of English vocabulary and alchemical ingredients, he drifted off to sleep. Funny, he never would have guessed his life would be like this looking back from a decade ago where Elder Tales was his digital paradise, his pixel dream.

Yang woke up amongst hundreds of screams and yells. He opened his eyes, and instead of seeing his room, he saw Beijing. Elder Tale's version of it sprawling in front of him. He muttered something incoheant as someone grabbed his arm and ran, "Laoshi, follow me!"

Yang didn't seem to have a choice in the matter as he was dragged by his (supposed) student. No one other than those he taught ever called him "Laoshi". He only hoped that the person would be so kind enough to not let him die on the way to where ever he was begin dragged.

"We have to hurry! The Fairy Gates are closing!" the boy yelled as Yang gagged on a rock, wondering what kind of strength stat he must have in order to pull him like a doll.

Yang got one last sight of the Beijing Spawn, the remains of the Forbidden City off in the distance along with horde of confused Adventurers. One second later, he vision was blocked by the magical pudding/gel/field of the Fairy Gate. It felt like it was some slime enveloping his body without the wetness he'd expect. Soon it turned to a warm fuzziness, as if he was surrounded by kittens.

Suddenly, while he was still enjoying the feeling of being surrouned by a pool s kittens, he lurched forward and felt as if everything was pulling him back as something else was pulling him forward. The Fairy Gate had reached its destination and Yang was shot out of it. Straight into a blond-haired girl in a plate armor/skirt hybrid.

Yang grumbled, "I feel as if this is the start of something big. I also feel like this is that start to a bad shounen anime..."

Morganna sighed as she walked around the town noticing everyone's else faces of confusion and nodding confirming that everyone else was experiencing the same thing. In front of her was the menu screen that she been nonchalantly clicking on the bottom button which had definitely read 'LOG OUT'. It was starting to hurt her arm but if she was lucky after clicking so many times, maybe she'll get out, but who knew? She soon exited out of the menu before looking for some of her friends, she knew some of them were on when she checked her list but majority of them were offline. Well that sucked for them, as now she had a perfectly good reason for now being able to play this game for as long as she wanted now, however it did scare her slightly that she would be alone.

Soon the thought started to peck upon her conscious and was now annoying her, and to try and state this annoyance, she reopened her menu and began scrolling through her friends list... 'Raven' was one of the contacts that was there and she pondered slightly if she should message the guy, she had befriended him a while ago and talked infrequently however was at best, acquaintances to one another. Deciding that it would be best, she quickly typed something before clicking the 'Send' button and watched it disappear as the message went through with it saying

"Oi! Raven, have you seen the logout button? I been trying to log out for a while now and since they're most likely not working now want to meet up? We should try to see if anyone else is willing to meet up. Sorry if it was a long time we talked, I never seem to see you when I am on! ~Morggie"

We should try to see if anyone else is willing to meet up. Sorry if it was a long time we talked, I never seem to see you when I am on! ~Morggie" Looking at the message that was sent to him Raven couldn't help but sigh there goes his idea for a nap. Yawning as he stretched once more he quickly composed a message back to Morggie. "I noticed since you seem so eager to meet this old man meat me in front of the entrance to the akiba. I will see you there when you arrive my dear little flower best wishes Raven." Sending the message he leaned back using the broken wall to catch him. Morggie huh haven't heard from her in awhile it was what a raid or quest chain we met? Raven pondered as she scratched his stubble as he thought back to the them meeting. "Sigh no rest for this old man huh?" He questioned aloud as he waited for Morggie to arrive at their destined spot. @Pie Flavor

Eun of the fox tails
Eun sighed this was chaos she thought as she looked at her clothed wrapped feet while she stretched while in her tree. She logged into the game hopping for some quick questing while she explored the changes in the new expansion. Though that changed as she noticed this was really her new body it seemed. having come to that conclusion when in her confusion yanked on her flowing fox tails and was met with pain. Wincing at the remembrance of the sharp pain she felt. It was really her body now oh well might as well try to find some new blood she supposed. Blood was her own way of saying that she was looking for some people to come with her for questing or that. This was their new life and she would remain strong so she would head out and fight to forge her own path. Looking around for someone not in chaos she noticed two people one seemed to be in pain or suffered a fall and the other was a blond in armor. Hmm a guardian probably going by the armor she supposed and probably a assassin those seem like good strong party members she mused. Walking up to them she greeted "hey you two you guys know whats exactly going on?" She questioned them to break the ice before breaking out her major question. @ClocktowerEchos

Libris - The Confused Templar

Libris had no idea where the hell she was or why they was someone on top of her. Did she skip a few important steps in relationship building? The last thing she remember was going to Japan on a family business trip and bringing her laptop along so she could play Elder Tales.

All she remembered was that she fell asleep after going to a hot spring. When she woke up she had looked into the the iconic buildings of Akihabara in decay, over grown with shrubs and in ruins. Birds squawked over head as the Guild Hall could be seen not to far although dwarfed by the some of the other, much taller ruins.

Looking around, she saw the road she was on full of people in fantasy armors, some crying, some fighting with each other, all in the same spot she was in. Trapped in a game they once played. Looking down, she saw that she was wearing the same armor from Elder Tales, the <Graceful Blessed Plate of the Redeemer>. Gotten as a reward from the <Angel Moon Drop> event, it had beautifully combined a regal plate chest piece with a pretty, yet comfortable skirt with lace around the bottom.

This sounds like the setting of a bad shounen anime. Libris whispered to herself, as she and through the streets, the world feeling much more alive than the pixels on her screen ever felt. The winds breezed through her hair as the warmth of the sun met her face. She walked around the city, through alleys and ruins, ignorant to the fact she was trapped inside a game.

A though popped into her head as she stopped there the giant tree that still had bounties and NPC quests tacked to it. She raised a hand and swiped down; sure enough, there was a menu that appeared. It listed everything from the game, equipment, spells, skills, current status, all there.

"Oooooh, it does work like that," Libris smiled slightly as she looked into the menu. All of her things were here for the most part; her sword, her wealth, several unorganized potions, a few miscellaneous crafting and food bits, her armored horse whistle, "Seems like everything is here. Wait... dammit my shield isn't."

The blond suddenly remember how she had given it to a friend to reforge it. Given her current location, her shield was a good ten thousand miles away from her, give or take a bit. This was very problematic as without a shield, she was more or less useless. Paladins played like a healing tank, making great at defending. Unfortunately, they aren't the most offensive-based class. The fact Libris also based her entire set up around that idea was going to make not having a shield only worse.

Closing the window, she sighed and drew her sword and pointed it towards the sky, aiming at the birds as if it was a gun. The effects where clearly enough to be considered real, the shadows were even so real that it looked like a bird was coming towards her.
"Wait. That's not sup-" in a blink of an eye, Libris was now on the ground with what she was just another black blob in the sky now on top of her.

Yang-C - The Youxia who came from the Sky

Yang picked himself up, even if he didn't take too much damage from the fall from the sky he had, it sill hurt like hell.
"I don't remember it hurting this much in the game." he rubbed his arms before looking down. His face went from buttercup to red rose in .03 seconds flat.

The way he landed made it look like he was mounting the fair-skinned girl for less-than-honorable acts, with his knee between her legs. WAS THE PSYCHICS ENGINE ALWAYS THIS FUCKED UP? Yang internally yelled as jumped back. He had mounted his girlfriend before, but doing it with some random girl in armor wasn't in his list of interests. He lept back and apologized profusely.

"Whose there?" the girl got up in an almost sleepy manner and rubbed her eyes.

Dammit, she's my type of foreigner too... Yang contemplated as he heard a new voice.

"hey you two you guys know whats exactly going on?" a white-tailed fox lady strolled over and asked.

"Umm... no." Yang got up, his face returning to normal, "I have no idea what's going on. Last I remember, I was worrying about a English test. I take a nap, I end up in the Beijing Hub City, then dragged into a Fairy Portal and I'm now here. Where am I even?"

"I am just as clueless as my Liege." Libris stood up and apologically bowed.

"Wait, when did I become a Liege?" Yang turned to the girl in heavy armor, "I don't even know you."

"Please, call me Libris. I'm a Paladin who will be your bodyguard from now on." Libris bowed to a shocked Yang.

Yang sighed as he ignored the strange girl he accidentally mounted and turned to the foxtail, "I'm Yang-C. I've been playing for most of my life. Most people call me Yang or Laoshi."

He had a secret feeling that this would be the start of one hell of a roller coaster.

Eun of the Fox Tails
"I see she added well why dont we go and do something productive. Right now we are currently stuck in this game and there is no use crying over spilled milk right? If that's the case we should go out and do something a quest a event boss anything right?" This was her big gamble hopefully they would take it and they can go hunt she thought she was feeling cramped not being able to do anything but listen to people worry about their situation. Hopping lightly from foot to foot she waited for their answer hopefully they agree she could use some action right about now.

Sakura The Shadow
Sakura remained quiet as she perched atop a tree the situation was different but like most other things she will not let it get to her. Remaining in the shadows she watched people go through and forth and panicking over the situaion which was not helping them if she was to say anything. Going by that she also saw one of her old "buddies" she supposed panic a bit it seems that he was actually a she. Watching the little spectacle of her going the trouble to get the potion. Seeing as there was no need for her to be there at the moment or at all considering she only partied with the glasses wearing one once. See looked at a constant partner from jumping behind the two players she heard the basic understanding of what eun was planning and feeling a bit playful she tapped the twos shoulders since they weren't paying attention to see them jump.

Yang-C - One Hungry Youxia

Yang opened his mouth to speak, however, his stomach did the talking. It growled with the strength of a hundred tigers, or something poetic like that. Then, it hit him, he realized he hadn't eaten dinner the night (?) before, or at least had the famous "college dinner" of ramen and soda, not exactly very filling.

"I request that we first go and find where the market it." Libris raised her hand as if it mattered, "No matter how brave a knight, no one can fight on an empty stomach."

Again Yang opened his mouth, and once again he was interrupted by intestinal growling. It wasn't his own however, he looked up, down, left and right before finally spotting the source of the noise; Libris herself.

"I-I am truely sorry for you to hear my body's urges my liege," Libris put her hand to her mouth and the other down by her stomach, "A true knight should be able to supress their urges."

Yang still had no idea why the hell Libris was referring to him as "liege", but his narcissistic side throughly enjoyed it. As the blond rubbed her belly, Yang pulled up his inventory. Scrolling through the lines of text and images, his search for a certain item became more meticulous with the second.

"Alchemy, alchemy, knife, fire lance, alchemy, book, a frying pan; here it is!" Yang tapped the line that said <Imperial Dumplings>, "These are a quest reward item, they're stored in a magic bamboo pot that keeps them warm. They're actually alchemy ingrediants, but they are safe to eat. I think. Here, have one." He handed one to the open hands of each girl and in unison, they took a bite.

"PPPPPFFFFFFTTTTTTT!" Yang spat his dumpling out, he could see Libris screwing up her face. He had expected the meaty goodness and delicate balance of herbs and vegetable enclosed in a wheat outside to enter his mouth, what he got instead was a bland... thing with a slightly chewier outside.

"My liege," Libris hastily gulped her down as if she was trying to avoid having to taste it for much longer, "True knights are said to be able to handle any poison. I guess I'm not a true knight then..."

"These aren't poison!" Yang coughed up the last bit of disappointment as his appetite disappeared like his hopes that the rest would taste okay, "No really, the descriptions said they were much tastier."
