Vayen sighed, well due to her Queen and seeing that she was a reprensentative of the Reef she had nodded to The Speaker and walked away.
Her purple hair swaying at the windy tower she now gazed out from as she flickered one screen towards another from her Ghost's projections of the other fireteam members, learning more about them was vital in order to balance their alphas and bravos before taking her place amongst them. Night was brewing and it was less than an hour left until the assembly.

Vayen had already begun to assess the situation given by The Speaker and stepping outside her new objective, there were sertainly questions she would have rather been able to ask him directly but so far she still had time to question why it comes from him and his small circle of trusted allies rather than just an open Vanguard bounty.

However speculations were always speculations, early stages of it often proved to be wrong, yet thoughts are as healthy as they come.

Vayen started to walk herself into the towers inner complexes. The hall of council awaited the newly requested fireteam. That inside the byrocrats haven of needless and shitty papers.
There was nothing she could do about it, so chewing it together she stopped infront of the hall door, appearantly another meeting was in session as noted by the doors red busy light.

After a while the door slid open and a pissed vanguard officer made his way out of the hall, clearly dissappointed or upset about something.

Saga suddenly communicated with Vayen, enlighting her that there was still 15 minutes left until the assembly started...

"Believe it or not, I know that already Saga... Now continue to feed me the intel of my soon to be team mates." Vayen requested and continued to read up on them.

"what a wierd day"Asia thought. As soon as she landed at this strange place that her ghost called a tower a strange person had approached her. He said something about a mission briefing and then walked off before she could say anything. Once he walked off she decided to look around for a bit.She still has slot of questions but decided that she better just focus on this mission for now.
She walked around just trying to get a feel for her new home. After a while her "ghost"a strange machine told her that she might want to go towards the meeting place and that it was almost time.she was curious about her team mates as these other "guardians" are who she would be working with.being as new as she was she had some doubts such as why these people would choose her."i mean I just got here and suddenly I'm Part of some investigation, did that guy make a mistake"she thought as she walked up near the waiting place

Atticus looked around at the bare living quarters he had called home while in the Cit. A small bed, small metal nightstand, a battered foot locker and a rusted metal weapons locker he had salvaged from a derelict military base during his travels. Seven years and this was the culmination of his possessions. Leftover items from the room's previous owner and a weapon's locker he had added to store the weapons he had begun collecting. The only other items he owned was what he had on him, his clothes and his Hard Luck Mk.52 hand cannon slung low on his hip reminiscent of the gunslinger's of an age long since gone.

A grumbling from beside him broke him from his thoughts. "You're doing it again." The small voice said as the Ghost flitted across the room and set itself down on the nightstand with a soft metallic tink.

"I'm doing what again, Kiddo?" Atticus asked making his way to sit on the bed.

"You're being booooooorrrrriiiinnnngg!" The Ghost said, it's eye following Atticus as he made his way to the bed. "Let's go and do something! Let's have fun!" The Ghost suddenly shot up from the nightstand speaking excitedly. "Oh, oh! Let's play a game!" Before the Ghost could pick a game for the two to play a soft chime came from the Ghost, deflating the little machines excitement. "Awwww, you got a message from the Speaker." It said sadly as it looked at the ground defeated.

Atticus couldn't help but smile as he watched the Ghost. "It's alright, Kid, play the message from the Speaker and I promise we'll play a game later."

The promise of playing games later instantly perked it up. "Can we play hide and seek? I like hide and seek! Let's play hide and seek!"

The Ghost started to speak quicker and quicker the more it talked about hide and seek, and Atticus knew if he didn't cut it off now he'd never hear the message from the Speaker. "Mason," The Ghost fell silent. It knew that tone and that meant now was the time to be serious. "Play the message and then we'll play hide and seek later."

A squeal of excitement escaped the Ghost as it spun in the air before coming to a stop facing Atticus and began to show a projection of the Speaker as his voice began to play. "Guardian. I have selected you to join in a mission of the utmost importance. Intelligence that we have already gathered has been sent to your Ghost." Atticus looked at Mason to confirm and the Ghost nodded as the message continued. "You will be joined by other Guardians that I have requested and a briefing will be held in the Hall of Council within the hour if you will please make your way there, Guardian."

With that the projection disappeared and what sounded like a gasp escaped Mason. "Did he just say what I think he said?!" The Ghost asked, getting excited once again.

"Well," Atticus looked quizzically at the Ghost as he stood from the bed and gathered his helmet. "What do you think he said?"

"He's," The ghost started but quickly stopped and looked around the room as if checking to make sure that no one else was around. "He's sending us on a secret mission!"

Atticus had to stifle a laugh as he put on his helmet, the heads up display powering on giving the entire room a soft blue glow before adjusting itself and returning his field of view to normal. "It certainly sounded like it didn't it." He said looking up at Mason as the intel the Speaker had mentioned began to flash by on half the screen, showing a picture of the other chosen Guardians, their names and any other relevant information they had on them. Six Guardians? Why so many?

He was pulled form his thoughts once again, this time by a squeal of excitement as Mason quickly flew in a circle around Atticus. "I can't believe we've been chosen to go on a secret mission by the Speaker!" Mason suddenly stopped flying in a circle and began to fly up while spinning as Mason resumed squealing with excitement.

Mason's reaction brought a small chuckle from Atticus as he made his way to the door, Mason following in beside him as the Ghost continued to dance around him excitedly and saying 'We're going on a secret mission' in a sing-song voice.

His home was already located inside the tower so all he had to do was make his way up a few floors to reach the Hall of Council. However, Mason's excitement seemed to get the best of the Ghost and the attention of all the Guardian's in the hallway outside his living quarters was quickly drawn to him. "Mason."

The Ghost immediately stopped bouncing and singing and flew very close until his face and the face of the Ghost were just inches apart. "Yes?" The Ghost whispered forcing Atticus to stifle another laugh.

"We're on a secret mission." He whispered back as realization seemed to sink in causing the Ghost to look around at all the other Guardians and Ghosts watching the two of them.

"Oh," Mason slowly turned back around to face Atticus as it continued to whisper. "Right. I got excited and forgot." It was silent for a moment as if thinking of what to do next. "Oh well!" Mason had decided to not let the fact that the Ghost had revealed their new secret mission bother it and continue like nothing had happened before trying to change the subject by running away from it. "Race you to the Hall of Council!"

"Be careful!" Atticus called after the Ghost as a giddy laugh escaped Mason as the Ghost weaved in and out of other Guardians in the hallway before reaching the stairs and continuing up, his warning lost in the laughter and forcing him to try and keep up.

Further up the stairway Mason had reached the floor that held the Hall of Council, Atticus following with half a flight of steps behind. "Ah-ha!" Mason exclaimed, turning to look at Atticus as he just reached the top of the stairs. "Looks like I w--" Mason was cut off as the Ghost had ran into something while flying backwards. Mason turned to see an Awoken Titan looking down at the Ghost.

The sudden appearance of the new Guardian that the Ghost hadn't noticed as it reached the top of the stairs caused a high-pitched scream of shock to escape the Ghost as each of the triangular pieces that made up the Ghost jutted out in each direction before coming back together and flying back to Atticus to hide behind his leg and peek out at the Titan it had ran in to. "I told you to be careful." Atticus said to the Ghost before turning his attention to the waiting hunter, one he had seen in the images the Speaker had sent to him. "Sorry about that."

A sparrow flies over a hill in the Earth terrain as Cecelia zooms toward the center of the half-dozen Fallen. Throwing a knife at one's face, it quickly falls dead as she pops a cap from her handcannon into the nearest face she found, while tossing her swarm grenade behind her to do some damage. She turned around to the weakened three: two of the "grunts of the litter" as Einstein so eloquently calls them, and one humanoid bug. Well, it has 6 limbs. She dashes in to stab one grunty in the face, whips around to shoot the other's face, and is left with one Fallen.
"Einstein. Music?" The Awoken thrill-seeker requests. "I thought you'd never ask, Princess." And with that, heavy metal instrumental music starts jamming in Cecelia's helmet as she pulls out her knife to face the Fallen. Making it interesting. "Hey, any challenge?" The Awoken smirks from in her helmet as bug-boy roars at her. "Yeah, only stabs to the back." Her helmet responded over the music. "Easy," is all Cecelia said as she rushed in. The Fallen had just charged a shot, but couldn't pull the trigger before before Cecelia knocked it aside, spun until she was back-to-back with it and stabbed in the small of the back. If you can call it that.
Rolling away, the Fallen decides to try it again. They never learn, do they? Cecelia dashes at it, this time tossing her knife up in the air. She punches it in the face before it can shoot, because energy weapons need charge time, flipped over it, catching her blade after landing a little shakily, then getting in two more stabs before it turned to face her again.
With a smirk, Cecelia says "let's dance, partner." She grabbed the arm holding the gun, put it out as if to do the tango, and carved its back with her knife using her knife hand. It finally falling to the floor, Cecelia brags to her Ghost "hey, never said I needed to be behind him to make backstabs. Chalk another one up for me on the challenges, Einstein." The Ghost sighs and agrees, adding one to Cecelia's count. "Way to go, Princess. Find the loopholes." "Hey, that was fair and square. It was a stab to his back."
Einstein bleeped, getting a message, and played it internally, giving Cecelia the gist: "Some 'Aaron the Ranger' is supposedly in Scandenavia and we're chosen to investigate. Speaker's orders." Cecelia sighs. "A fetch mission? Really? This is gonna be boring, but it pays well, so let's go. Meeting at the Tower first." And with that, Cecelia and Einstein headed off to the Tower.

The once great cities that graced the Golden Age now lay in ruin after the Darkness arrived. Towers that once reached the heavens now crumbled on the gridlocked streets. Some of the old skyscrapers had been caught by others, leaning against the side of neighboring buildings. Over the years, their structure became weak, as if they could collapse onto the ground at any given second. In the stillness of the day, a Sparrow rides, the Guardian mounted fully aware that the buildings she speeds under could give in and crush her to her death. Evana-4 sped through the streets of old Chicago, her sparrow disturbing the peace and flinging debris into the air. She felt the ground rumble beneath her sparrow. Another great skyscraper had finally succumbed to the Darkness. After a few seconds, she could hear the crash in the distance as the old tower connected with the ground. With how dangerous the cities are, Evana was surprised the Fallen had managed to set up any sort of base here, though at a cost it seemed. As she rode onward to her destination, she had passed many Fallen corpses, their bodies crushed under the weight of concrete and metal from buildings constantly falling apart.

She didn’t understand how a place such as this would not have been leveled years ago. Humans of the Golden Age must have been persistent in defending their home. She wished other Guardians had such persistence. This was why she fought for the Future War Cult. She believed that the Earth was worth fighting for; she did not want the lives lost in the protection of this planet to be in vain. Even now, she was fighting for the FWC, tracking a high value target who is trying to set up shop in this desolate city.

“Not much further,” the electronic voice chimed, breaking the silence. The little spikey robot—a child of the Traveler—Echo, hovered beside Evana as she rode through the quiet streets. She remained quiet as well, allowing the soothing hum of the Sparrow’s booster to fill her ears. Sometimes, Evana’s silence made Echo feel ignored, but it was something he had learned to live with. At first, he’d always comment about Evana’s apparent lack of hearing but to no avail. He learned to just assume she cares enough to listen to him when he speaks, even when he receives no response. “Okay,” he started, “it’s just up ahead. In that old factory.”

Not long after entering the industrial side of the city, an old manufacturing building came into view. Evana tightened her grip on the boosters, the purple beam emitting from the back of the Sparrow growing wide as it pick up speed. As she neared the building, Evana launched herself off her sparrow and landed with a huff, catching herself before she could lose balance. Her ghost rolled its eye.

“Smooth,” he scoffed. “Who’re you trying to impress? The Fallen you’re about to kill?” Evana shot the little spiked orb an annoyed expression. “Do not mock me, Little Light.” She started to walk toward the entrance, her hand reaching for the scout rifle on her back. She stopped for a moment and looked back at her ghost. “It’s…harder than you think.” She couldn’t help the corner of her lip from curling, giving Echo a kindhearted grin. As much as that little thing annoyed her, she enjoys its company and appreciates its insistence of livening up the mood.

As she entered the factory she could see her radar light up with red dots. There was chatter coming from all around as various Fallen turned their attention to the Exo standing in their entryway. “Uhhh…maybe we should’ve taken a different door…”

Seeing the amount of Dregs and Vandals around her, she smiled, holding up the MIDA-Mult Tool and aiming down the sights. Tack, tack, tack. It didn’t take long for her to dispense the Fallen to her left and right. They were weak, practically cannon fodder for her real Target. The Reaver Vandal let out long screech before commanding its subordinates to attack.

“No, it’s fine,” Evana assured the ghost. “They won’t see what’s coming.” With that, she returned the scout rifle to her back and unleashed the light within her, materializing two long blades as her body began to surge with Arc energy. In a quick spin, she vanished. Cloaked in invisibility, Evana made her way behind her target and pierced its body with her blades. Before the other weaker Fallen could take notice of their newly deceased commander, Evana made quick work of them, jetting through the air in a streak of blue light, the sound of her blades cutting through the bodies of her enemies echoing through the factory.

After diminished the remainder of her light, Evana released the blades, watching them disintegrate before ever touching the ground. “Well, I think the Future War Cult will be a happy to know that we have one less Fallen hideout to worry about. I’ll inform Lakshmi-2—oh…”

Evana turned her attention to her ghost. “What is it?”

“It’s…it’s the Speaker. We’re being summoned to the Hall of Council. He’s gathered other Guardians. Do you want me to bring them up for you?” the ghost asked, prepared to emit a projection of other Guardians.

“No, we’ll meet them soon. Let’s not waste any time.”

"Heh, someone's an eager beaver." Echo began readying the ships teleport. Evana shot the ghost a look. "Echo, please." He tilted his body forward in a bow. "As you wish, m'lady."

--

After arriving at the Tower, Evana wasted no time in getting to the Hall of Council. If the Speaker had requested her, as well as others, it must be for something important. He does not call groups of Guardians often, if at all.

“Wait up!” her ghost called as it flew to her side. After catching up to her, Echo didn’t miss a beat. “Five other Fireteam members! Can you believe it?”

She almost couldn’t. What reason does the Speaker have in calling forth twice the number of Guardians typically gathered to carrying on a difficult task?

“Maybe…maybe you could make some friends?” the ghost suggested almost questioningly. Evana responded with a short huff. “You know I can’t afford to make friends, Echo,” she reminded him, her voice low as if she were ashamed.

An apologetic voice came from beside them. Evana, unsure if the voice was indirectly addressing her, turned her attention to a Warlock, a ghost, and a Titan just a few feet from where she stood. It became apparent the ghost belonged to the Warlock and that it had run into the Titan.

Echo let out an amused chuckle. “Eyes up, Little Light,” he snickered.

Prophet had just finished talking with the Dead Orbit representative at the Tower and was starting to walk away when his Ghost materialized in front of him, making pinging sounds before alerting him of a transmission from the Speaker. "Feed the transmission through to my helmet, Sparky. Aaand don't play it out loud, like last time, okay?" Commanded Prophet as he held out his hand for Sparky, the Ghost, to hover over. Sparky moved over Prophet's hand, emitting a string of sad yet apologetic notes that sounded very much like some kind of music, and began to play the transmission through Prophet's helmet.

Prophet stayed there for a good while, as he listened to the voice of the Speaker and watched the images of other Guardians appear on his helmet's HUD. Then, once the Speaker was through, he started heading for the meeting place. Sparky flew over Prophet's shoulder and beeped questioningly, to which Prophet simply nodded. Seeing the nod, Sparky buzzed happily and danced around Prophet's head for a moment before trans-matting away to wherever Ghosts go. Prophet let out a slight chuckle before continuing the rather short walk to the meeting place, and arrived to see the guardians whose pictures flashed across his HUD earlier. He eyed each one of them over, as if he was searching for something, with his helmet still on and masking his face.

Cecelia ran towards the group of gathering Guardians. "Look what you did now, Princess. We're late. Told you we shouldn't have stopped for food" Einstein commented through her helmet's comm as she ran towards the crowd. "Calm your CPU, Einstein. Looks like they're just starting."
Finally reaching the crowd of Guardians, Cecelia takes off her helmet and starts calming down her breaths. She looks around at all the other Guardians summoned for this mission. Like most firing teams she's been in, they were all very diverse. Although, the skill levels seemed to be sparse as well. Hm... This is going to be quite interesting. Wonder what all this hub-ub is about...

Vayen was suddenly bumbed by a ghost which out of suprise, quickly hid behind the warlocks leg whom had approached the door for the hal. However Vayen kept her mask of plain flat seriousness and composed self.
"No worries ghost." she replied and looked towards the Warlock ahead of her, giving a light nod at him.
Pretty much from there on the rest of the guardians gather with'in the following minute. The appearantly new guardian felt rather uncomfortable with being so fresh and already in a fireteam this big with most of the bunch being atleeeeast relatively experienced to cut it short. "Heyo." Vayen greeted the bunch, projecting her tuff character out, merely hinting a reserved shyness about the way she said it.
Thinking shortly she looked at the kinderguardian, "Don't worry, you will be fine, if they think you fit in with us you most likely do. We were all fresh once."

That is right isn't it, Asia was as fresh as they get, thus also the one with the least known about her...
Though this was an anamoly, it was easy to assume that her freshness is what might also add to the experienced guardians of Branded Flame, she would still not be as effected by their experience as the rest of the bunch. That was always a plus, well mostly atleast.

Asia couldn't believe her ghost would try to talk for her.it was embarrassing.she bit her lower lip thinking about how to approach this.

Mason peered around Atticus' leg as the Titan the Ghost had ran into spoke. "There," Atticus said looking down at Mason. "No harm done. You just need to watch where you're going." Mason looked up at him, and he had the feeling that the Ghost was about to say something before another of the summoned Guardian's Ghost spoke.

Mason's attention was quickly pulled to the new Guardian and Ghost that had showed up. "What'd you call me?" Mason looked from the new Ghost to Atticus. "What did he just call me?" Once again Mason's view went to the new Ghost and just stared silently for a moment before quickly flying to hover inches from the new Ghost's face. Mason continued to stare the new Ghost down before flying up and spinning excitedly. "I liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikkkkeeeee it!" As Mason began to come back down the Ghost flew over and hover just as close of Atticus' face. "Can that be my new nickname? Please! Please! Please! Puh-llllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

That was not the reaction that Atticus had been expecting. "Look, Kiddo," He tried to speak but anything he tried to say was quickly pushed aside by Mason's please, and with the fact that the Ghost didn't need run out of air the please go literally go on forever. He needed to end this quickly.

"eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

"We are in the presence,"

"eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

"Of new Guardian's, who may I remind you,"

"eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

"Were chosen by the Speaker himself,"

"eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

"Just like you and I were." His first attempt and it was a complete failure.

"eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

Skipping any further failed attempts he went straight for what always worked."Mason!" Atticus said delivering the tone that would usually settle the Ghost down.

"eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

But to no avail this time. He had always refused to yell at Mason and wasn't going to start now in the presence of new company. He decided that
enough was enough and gave in.

"eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

With a sigh he spoke. "Little Light." He muttered, although more akin to a whisper under the please.

"ee-" The please stopped as soon as he uttered the last syllable of 'Light'. "Yes?"

Atticus sighed again and looked around at the group of assembled Guardians. It seemed that during his interaction with Mason the remaining members of the group had arrived and he had missed anything that had gone on. "Did you really have to do that in front of all of these people?" Atticus asked looking back at Mason.

"Hmmm," Mason turned and looked at each member of the group that the Speaker had picked, making a full circle and looking back at Atticus after making the rotation. "Nope," A small giggle escape Mason, the Ghost's eye lighting and dimming as it did so. "I didn't have to but it seemed like it would be funny!" Another little giggle escape the Ghost before it began to fly in a circle around Atticus.

He simply placed a hand on his face and let out a long sigh before looking back at the other Guardians. "Shall we?" He asked motion towards the door as Mason continued to fly around his head.

Cecelia overheard the pleading Ghost and giggled. "What's so funny, Princess?" Her smartass Ghost asks, apparently not able to recognize the whining the another ghost. "Uh, hello, Einstein. Are you tuning out the Ghost over there needing some cheese with that whine? Or did you think it was a frequency wave?" Cecelia decided if they were going to be in a large group, may as well get to know some people. She walks to the small cluster of Guardians. "Hello. I'm Cecelia. Anybody else know what exactly we're here to do? All I know is we're checking a spot for a person. No clue about mission completion details. Anyone?"
Einstein, being himself, chimed in "Uh, hello, Princess," mocking Cecelia's previous insult to him. "It's not like the Speaker gives out more info to Guardians who are 'more Guardian-ish' or anything." With a sigh, Cecelia retorts "Will you hush? I'm just trying to make conversation... I'm not good at meeting people, dude. Let me off every once in a while." After a few seonds, in hindsight it was probably calculations, Einstein added "But I do let you off 'every once in a while'. one out of every seven-point-three-seven times, I ignore a chance to add a witty comment." Cecelia, with no good retort, sighs and playfully pushes the Ghost away from her. Einstein let himself float in the pushed direction for about two seconds before swooping back over to Cecelia's side and disappearing to wherever Ghosts disappear to.

The ghost that was cowering behind its Guardian suddenly flew up to Echo’s face, hovering inches away with excitement. Echo tilted back slightly, not having expected the ghost to gleefully approach him so suddenly. When it became apparent that the young ghost’s behavior was directly related to Echo referring to it as ‘Little Light’, he couldn’t help but burst into laughter. His cackled laugh was drowned by the incessant pleas of the younger ghost, making Echo even more amused.

Evana let out a sigh, slightly annoyed at Echo’s easily amused self. “Please, Echo, behave yourself.” She turned to face the entrance, catching sight of more unfamiliar Guardians approaching. “We are in the presence of comrades.”

Echo could barely hear her through the younger ghost’s plea. “Ha! Oh, man, if I had tear ducts and hands I’d be wiping my eyes right now.”

When the Warlock finally gave in to his ghost’s request and the pleading stopped, Echo turned to Evana and gestured toward the pair. “I like this kid. He’s…” He turned toward the ghost and hovered over to him, peering at him as if evaluating something, “got spunk,” he finished. He returned his attention to Evana, his shiny blue eye staring wide at her. “Can we keep him?”

Evana returned a deadpan expression toward her ghost. "I hardly think that's appropriate." She then gave a weak smile to the Warlock, as if to apologize. When the Titan began to walk further into the Hall of Counsil, Evana gestured toward the meeting room. “Let us go, Echo. It’s time to find out what this is all about.”

Echo turned to face the other Guardians before catching up to Evana, who had already started making her way to the new room. “Don’t you want to meet your teammates?” he asked, glancing behind him at the newly arrived Guardians.

“There will be plenty of time for introduction when the Speaker explains our mission.”

An electronic sigh emitted from the ghost. “Alright. But, get to know them, yeh? Promise you’ll at least try?”

With slight hesitation, Evana replied, “I make no such promise, Echo. Don’t ask so much of me.”

The ghost peered down as he hovered over her shoulder, grumbling under his breath. “I don’t think that’s much to ask for at all..” he mumbled. A defeated sigh escaped him. "Whatever you say, Eve," he said, calling her by her nickname.

They reached the door and entered the room, preparing to be debriefed.

The guardians now gathered enters the hall of council, upfront by an altar like table stood The Speaker surrounded by the head of each city faction and even representing her queen was Petra.
This oughta be rather major...
There was a complete silence, each of Vayen's heartbeat was all she herself heard by now in wait for The Speaker to say his.

You could hear him inhale, "Branded Flame, you have been summoned here due to a common for all of us and that is, Aaron the Ranger. Aaron was a formidible guardian, with more experience than anyone else... However as told to you already his disappearance remains a mystery and further so now when we have found his ghost seemingly alive sending distress signals.
Aaron was a true scout and the best informant we ever had, bearing the light with him. He was last known to be headed for Venus in search for a Golden age regalia, built by mankind for one purpose only, destroying the Darkness which surrounds us...
Yes, there is such a weapon and we fear that Aaron might have found it when something happened to him forcing him to disappear.
You are to track his ghost down, gather all known intel about Aaron and report back to us of what you have found out about him
if possible retrieve his ghost and hand it to me.
If you happen to run into Aaron, engage him with caution and apprehend him but do not trust him, he could very well have been manipulated by the darkness he has faced... Any questions?"

Vayen shook her head, "Sorry Speaker, you talk but I am having a hard time.finding structure in your information... Are you holding back on us?"

"I have told you what you need to know, however any more practical questions are welcome."

Vayen bit her underlip a bit, very disappointed to hear nothing about nothing, vital for the mission at hand... It sounded like finding a needle in the hay stack, though more with a more sucidal tone about it...
She stood facing them all with a clenched fist, "I see..." she replied awaiting her fellow guardians to step u, hopefully they had, she would not bare to exchange more words than felt necessary to the Speaker.

Hearing all this vague talk of the Guardian-person Aaron, Cecelia starts feeling suspicious, so she speaks up. "Um, Speaker? Sir? I'm also a little confused. Why are we supposed to assume the worst on Aaron's condition? Would it not be quite apparent were we to speak to him? The information you're giving us is very complicated and almost contradictory. I mean, if he's consumed by darkness, why would his ghost send out a distress beacon? And on Earth? If he was supposed to be going to Venus, why wouldn't it be there? And why was a scout sent for something that would have been a lot more suited for a fireteam?"
The more Cecelia speaks, the more worried she becomes, and the more questions come to mind. She stops asking questions because they might become redundant, but a few key things keep bothering her. Engage him? Don't trust him? His ghost signalling for distress on Earth? A weapon to literally drive away the darkness wouldn't be handheld. It would probably have to be in a cargo ship, wouldn't it? And how are they not aware of anything concerning the mission since him starting it. Wouldn't his ghost have been transmitting something? Gah! What have I gotten myself into...?

"Um sir, this seems like a expert mission do you mind telling me why you would choose a newcomer like me for this mission"Asia asked nervously. She could tell that the other members of her team seemed nervous and suspicious. She too could tell that the council was holding back information but she was in no position to question it.She wasn't sure if she could trust this guy but opted not to show it."geez,I'm in way over my head arnt I"she thought.

"Ooooooooooh, wow!" Mason marveled as they entered into the Hall of Council. "Now that is a sight!" Mason said turning to look at Atticus. "Don't you think so?"

Atticus couldn't help but marvel along with his ghost. This was the first time he had stepped into the Hall of Council and it was rather intimidating at first. In the entire room the only place to stand was in front of an altar like table upon a raised dais. A row of short windiow near the ceiling let in the light of the setting sun, and depending on the time of day those standing were either blinded by the light or the light bathed those sitting at the table in an ethereal light. For now it was the latter. Sitting in the center of the table was the Speaker, and around the rest of the table sat the Vanguard to his right; Cayde-6, Ikora Rey, and Commander Zavala. The heads of each of the City's factions to his left; Lakshmi-2, Arach Jalaal, and Executor Hideo. At either end of the table sat the remaining members, the cryptarch Master Rahool and the Queen of the Reef's emissary Petra Venj. The sight of all of these people together gave him the impression that he was to be judged, tried, and executed for some crime rather than be sent on a mission for the City.

A soft click coming from Mason dragged him from his thoughts of being judged and he could see the Ghost's eye seeming to focus in on the group at the table. "Are," Another soft click left the Ghost. "Are you taking pictures right now?"

One more click left the Ghost and Mason turned to look at Atticus. "Maybe, I mean it's not like we're gonna get to see something like this to often." Mason looked back at the group at the table. "You think the Speaker will pose for a picture with me?"

"No, I don't!" Atticus said as sternly as he could without laughing at Mason's comment as they neared the center of the room. "Now please just be quiet and let the Speaker talk without any interruption from you."

Mason let out a huff but agreed and remained silent as the Speaker told those gathered more about their mission. From what little intel that they had been given he had gathered that they would be looking for Aaron the Ranger, he had assumed though that they would be looking for a dead man though given the rumors of his death. He was thrown further for another loop at the existence of a weapon designed to combat the Darkness. Vayen had stepped up to speak first for the group, attempting to call out the Speaker on his cryptic way of speaking, but gained no new information. Cecelia was the next to try and get more out of the Speaker, but before he could answer her the newest of the group, Asia, also asked a question of him.

The Speaker waited a moment to gather himself before answering the two. "Aaron's last mission took him to Venus searching for more information on this weapon. He landed at the Ishtar Sink on Venus and we were able to keep track of his position by way of his Ghost. Upon reaching the Ishtar Academy his Ghost went dark." The Speaker looked around at the Guardians, making it look like he was giving himself time to make sure that he wasn't giving away to much. "This was not unusual for the man, he would often do this when he ran into a situation and needed to disappear from the enemy. We here at the city waited. And we waited. And we waited. For months he did not resurface and it was assumed that Aaron's light was lost to us." He returned his attention to Cecelia. "That is until a few days ago when we received a distress beacon coming from here on Earth. We attempted to make contact with the Ghost, but there was no return message from the Ghost or Aaron. Some here believe that the Darkness may be manipulating Aaron, like it has others before, and the Ghost is seeking help before Aaron has a chance to kill the Ghost and keep the intelligence on what happened on Venus a secret."

Atticus felt the need to speak out before the Speaker went on. "Manipulated by the Darkness? Like many believe Dredgen Yor was when he killed those other Guardians, or even like Toland, the Shatter?"

"Yes," The Speaker answered turning to look at Atticus before returning his attention to Cecelia and the rest of her question. "Aaron was sent alone, because he was the first to find the intelligence on the weapon years ago. No other's have yet to find anything on any type of weapon that could combat the Darkness." Feeling he had answered Cecelia's question, although obviously leaving her in a more confused state about the weapon and questioning why she joined this mission, he moved on to answer Asia's question. "You, Guardian," He turned in his chair to face the new Guardian. "Have been chosen to prove yourself and forge your own legend among the Guardians." He gestured towards the other Guardians gathered with her. "Many of those gathered here were a fledgling much like yourself, but over the years they have begun to forge a name for themselves. They were given a chance just like you are now. You may be newly awoken to your role of a Guardian but your Light burns just as brightly as those gathered here, and we see many good things in your future."

Prophet had been waiting with the other five Guardians, though he stood off to the side and remained silent. He had nothing to say, so why should he talk? Though as his fellow comrades and comrades' Ghosts talked he did not shy away, and instead he listened. This was his way of getting to know them, and was his method of trying to ensure that he did not say the wrong thing...once he decided to speak to them, that is. But none of that thought process mattered once the doors opened to let the Guardians in for the meeting, as Prophet focused on listening to and processing the Speaker's words.

After the Speaker was done there were many questions, and as Prophet began to ponder over the absence of information some of those questions were being answered. For some, that only led to more questions...and for others...well, Prophet wasn't concerned. The extra knowledge was nice and would surely be useful, but asking questions wouldn't get the mission done. Something wasn't quite right about this situation...and Prophet couldn't tell what it was.

Asia nodded in thanks to the speaker."well, that seemed semi truthful, but it did seem a little fortune tellerish but I suppose it is what it is"she thought to herself.she did notice that none of the other answers seemed to really answer the questions but maybe that's just the way he spoke.

Echo flew into the room ahead of Evana, hovering over the spot where he assumed she would take her position. Evana, knowing what Echo expected, turned her body to the right and stood behind the large table some distance from her ghost, a playful half smile laid upon her face. Her ghost chirped, its center eye rolling before hovering over to its Guardian. Echo was the only sentient being Evana seemed let her guard down for, and the only one she trusted with her emotions, a fact Echo was often unhappy with. If her ghost was the only one she’d ever truly trust, it’s surprising she’d ever do well in a large fireteam.

With the Speaker standing before the six poorly acquainted fireteam, Evana took in every detail of the oncoming mission that was given to her. Still, the Speaker’s debrief left her with many answers, something she soon found she was not alone. Other Guardians raised their concerns, asking for more details. The other representatives in the room seemed rather unsure themselves, as if this was just as much a debriefing for them as it was for the new fireteam. As the Speaker answered some questions, Echo caught sight of Lakshmi-2 and gave her a friendly beep. As he was doing so, Evana couldn’t help but wonder why, even if he was the first to stumble upon information regarding such an important weapon, he was sent alone, given the possibility that it could have been heavily guarded. Nothing that immensely powerful enough that can take on the Darkness would be left alone, would it?

“Speaker,” Evana finally spoke, up, though most of her questions were asked and answered, “You must have assumed this weapon would have been under some watchful eye. Even if Aaron’s original task was to simply gather more intelligence, there was always the possibility that he would find its true location. Why risk sending a lone Guardian?” she paused, feeling as though her question may be interpreted as an attack to the Speaker’s decision to send Aaron to the Ishtar Sink. “In the event that we secure this weapon, how should it be dealt with? If it is found that this thing can corrupt the light within any who wields it, should it be destroyed?”

At some point in her life, Evana realized that she was just a pawn in the grand scheme of things, that the Speaker, no matter how secretive he may be, is currently their only real link to the Traveler; who was she to speak as if she’d know better? “My apologies for berating you with such trivial questions. Regardless of your reasoning now, we’ll find Aaron and, if necessary, release him from whatever darkness corrupts his light," a pause, "no matter the cost.”

Echo turned toward Evana, surprised. “Eve…” he said softly. To have to take the life of another Guardian was somewhat of a taboo in the Tower. Only in very dire circumstances had that ever occurred; none of which ever ended well for those fighting for the light. Evana knew this, but she was chosen as a vessel of the light and as long as that fact remains, she will fight against anything that threatens her cause, including other Guardians.

“Hush, ghost.”

Echo obeyed.

Evana scanned the room, taking a good look at her new teammates for the first time. “Let’s just hope we’re enough,” she said, feigning a friendly smile. Echo wants her to make friends then…well…baby steps. Baby steps.
