Name: Robin Black
Code Name: Phantom
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Psychological Profile:
Robin is best described as a performer. While he maintains a cool air of calm and logic around him most of the time, he is also capable of being very showy, snarky, and cocky. Anyone who's spent a decent amount of time with him will note that he can appear condescending in his speech and mannerisms, though it is mostly out of a desire to share information rather than show off his superiority. At other times, however, he prefers to be quiet and reserved, letting others speak and assessing the conversation as a third party.
It isn't helped that his technique for gaining the upper hand over his opponent involves pissing them off. Whether through showy, frivolous actions meant to show off, or using taunts and trickery, Robin is adept at manipulating others into showing weakness and then taking advantage of it. However, it is also clear that he will never do so without reason, at least with regards to those who have earned his respect or friendship.
Robin is also a kleptomaniac. It might go without saying since he's a thief by profession, but he doesn't steal for profit or fun. He does it for the challenge. His modus operandi is to pick his marks based on their level of difficulty, not value. Since joining Cerberus, he has mostly kept a habit of returning the stolen objects after proving their security is not impregnable, but is prone to taking trophies from time to time, often to settle petty feuds or debts.
The Holmes lineage is known to suffer from addiction in some form, and Robin's is sugar. He can almost always be found consuming sweet foods and drinks, often leading to him staying awake for long periods of time. He puts this time to use by learning something new, but it goes without saying that his eccentricities in this regard can be off putting to those who maintain regular schedules.
Robin has also proven himself adept at assuming different personas. His ability to transform himself into someone else borders on inhuman. He is able to hide all of his usual mannerisms and speech patterns, even changing his voice entirely. Combined with his skill in make up and cosmetics, he is even able to pass off as a woman.
Specialty: Intelligence - Lezzad
Robin excels at gathering information due to his uncanny ability to read people. His ability to see through lies and predict actions make him one of the best Butei in terms of infiltration and interrogation. In fact, there was no clear decision on whether to specialize him as a Lezzad or Dagula until he indicated his preference.
Skill Appraisal:
Interrogation - Rank S
Infiltration - Rank A
Subterfuge - Rank A
Surveillance - Rank A
Combat - Rank B
Bloodline: <Sherlock Holmes> - <Sixth Sense>
While Robin is naturally sharp and catches details with the same accuracy as his ancestor, his Bloodline takes it to a whole other level. Time seems to slow down around him, and he processes information at a rate that would put a computer to shame. He can predict where shots are going to go, to the point where it appears as if bullets are going right through him. He can predict moves and react almost instantaneously. The ability isn't just limited to sight, but all his other senses as well. The ability is both conscious and unconscious - Robin can activate it at will in the middle of a fight but it can also trigger by itself when danger is near, sort of an instinctive sense and survival instinct, as he puts it.
Personal History:
Strictly speaking, Robin didn't qualify to join Cerberus and the Academy the same way other students usually do. While most of his lineage have been involved in the military, police, intelligence agencies or some form of law enforcement, Robin started his career as a professional thief. Using the powers of observation he inherited and honed at home, he dedicated his teenage years to stealing cars, privileged information, and precious stones.
He was very good at covering his tracks, and while some may have suspected he was behind them, there was never sufficient proof that he was the culprit. Of course, with each theft that he got away with, his ego grew larger. There's a reason why "pride comes before a fall" is a proverb. His final job as a thief was a personal one. A friend of his was killed when he witnessed a drug deal and called the police. The killer had made it seem like it was a simple case of a drug overdose, and the police had no reason to look any further.
So Robin had taken it upon himself to hurt the drug cartel the only way he knew how - by stealing from them. Over the next month, the cartel would find that their drugs were being stolen right from under their noses. Their shipments were coming in light, and nobody knew how the thief was doing it. The missing drugs often showed up with photographs and fingerprints on the doorstep of the police, and it was apparent that the dealers had to either leave the city before enough evidence was brought to them, or find the one responsible and make an example of him.
They never found Robin, but they found his family. His parents were killed in their sleep one night when he ventured out to steal from the cartel once more, and he returned home to find the place covered in blood. His parents had fought back, but the enemy had the weight of numbers and the luxury of massing more firepower and not being confined indoors. His little vendetta turned his home to rubble and cost his parents their lives. Just as he was about to run off to avenge their deaths, he was approached by a Cerberus recruiter.
They had been trying to find him for some time - not to arrest him for his crimes but rather to recruit him and offer him amnesty in exchange for his cooperation. They arrived too late to find out he was the one who had started a feud with a drug cartel, and he realized too late his skills were only useful as long as his victims weren't going to fight back. So he took their offer, having nowhere else to go, and they sharpened and tempered Robin so he could finish the battle he started.
Upon graduation, his first job was to return to his home town and finally bring down the drug cartel responsible for his parents' deaths. When they offered him a spot on Division Six, he took it immediately, glad for a chance to prevent his own tragedy from becoming someone else's.
Weaponry:
A pair of decorated modified .45 pistols. They're designed to be easily hidden and slip past metal detectors.
Robin's melee weapon is a pair of wakizashi often strapped to his arm and slip out from their sheathes with a simple motion. He also carries other concealed weapons on his body, such as throwing knives or small stilettos.
Other relevant information:
1. Robin is ambidextrous.
2. Robin is a master of disguise. During an intelligence gathering exam, he apparently managed to disguise himself as a female instructor down her voice and mannerisms and none of the faculty realized what had happened until he showed up with all the documents lifted right from her desk.
