I agree with Raineh on this. It's best to make a new character to adopt the orphaned slots.

Indeed, some of the orphans were only nominally there. At this stage, may be better to just make a new character and retcon them in and the missing ones out.

Recalling details would be more History. Perception is seeing what's in front of you.

I'm still not sure. And it doesn't matter, anyway, because as a noble half-elf bard, I have enough skill proficiencies that I can choose both.

Perception's your ability to see things. The old spot/listen/search all rolled into one. It is not your memory. That would be... your memory/ability to take notes OOC. Or knowledge results, if appropriate.
