White Feather Soul of a warrior / Feet of a Coward

Just when they're used they tend to be abused however bad they might be. Cannons pretty much render cities as fodder but not my opinion to say so. Good luck, hope it goes well.

A lot of people like to play firearms up as being ultra OP, but in this RP they should be expensive, inaccurate and slow to fire. Don't know if this sways you either way, but your comments are appreciated

Firearms in the time period that is being aimed for were utter crap. It was well into the 1600's before guns began to out do bows and into the 1700's before bows were rendered completely useless by the introduction of rifles, which meant that guns could finally be relied on to actually hit the target
There were several reasons that, in spite of being inferior killing weapons, firearms were adopted. Firstly nearly anyone can pick up and fire a gun while it takes years to train an archer and develop the correct upper body strength for them to be good enough to fight in a war. For instance, English men were required by law to do two hours longbow practice every Sunday. It led to them having odd muscle proportions, their upper body strength being disproportionate to their lower body strength (drawing and firing a long bow, one of the few bow types capable of piercing plate armour, takes a lot of strength.)
Secondly, a volley of gunfire is more terrifying and thus a larger effect on morale than arrows. In this time period, warfare wasn't so much about actually killing the other side as it was seeing which side runs away first.
Thirdly (this applies more to the later era than the current era though) you can attach a bayonet to a gun, which means you can also use it as a makeshift spear against cavalry. A bowman would have to carry a spear with him to achieve the same effect which just means more equipment to lug around.

Also, hello, this is a nice roleplay you got here. Lol.

Using a new map means more work for me, but I suppose I'm fine with it.

I guess i'm okay if everyone else is, but I may have to completely overhaul my idea if there are no medium or large islands on the map

Any further comments? I like the suggested map as well, but I won't change anything unless we all agree.

@Thrashy

NS - looks good so far. I like the Gaelic feel to it, reminds me of home.

@eemmtt

A bit more description of industry and military would be appreciated, but other than that, looks good.

Some points to think about:
What do you import?
What do you export?
How's the economy? Are there lots of unemployed or does everyone have a job?
What do you make?
Anything you are famous for?

Anything else of note about the army? Does it use levies, is there a standing army, are woman accepted?
Age limits - how old does one have to be to join the army? Is this different for different races

@Nerevarine

Very Asiatic. Has the potential to be an interesting nation when the NS is finished

So just a question: Dragon-knights (knights riding dragons) and Dragon mages (mages on dragons) is allowed, right?

They would have to be very rare, much rarer than knights on horseback, considering the rarity of dragons and the difficulties involved with training them. It's not as though you can just saddle them and go for a ride, is it?

The new map works for me; I haven't started on a CS because of that dispute.

I will be calling a section to the far north, a good sized one; just fyi.

I'll just try something and see if you like it. But you're absolutely right that a dragon requires a lot of maintenance and are probably very hard to train (or tame). But then again they are flying flamethrowers.

"They can be any race of bird in a frail, humanoid form. They have talons/claws on their feet while human like hands are attached to their arms. They also have wings and the ability to fly."
Implies they are of human shape but covered with feathers and otherwise having the appearance match whatever bird race they resemble.

Yeah I had sort of explained it in the Nation part, so when I got to the race part I sort of just put general information. My reply probably sounded more snarky than I meant it to be, so I apologize.
