This thread is a reference resource for my characters! I'll cross-reference this with my charahub page full of characters, but will also include any characters currently involved in roleplays.

All art, unless otherwise noted, is mine. **Please do not use it for yourself - it depicts these specific characters and I would prefer that it not be used to represent any others!** Thank you very, very much. (If for some reason you would like a sketch of one of your characters, let me know and we can probably work something out!)

Of note: In spite of the fact that most of these characters have stories attached to them, I'd probably be willing to roleplay using any of them upon request in a new story/setting. Even if they're already attached to a specific fandom, I'd even be happy to cross them over into another universe to play, provided I know the new universe well enough to play in it!

Name: Moka

Origin: "Naruto"

Age: 14-16

Sex: Female

Occupation: Producer and deliveryperson of tea and tea-related goods.

Race: Human

Physical description: Of middling height with long green hair which she keeps tied back. Lean and strong with a runner's build.

Personality: Has a surly personality, a short temper, and takes tea very seriously. She can deal with people on a professional level but has no patience for more social pursuits. Is often single-minded and reacts poorly to being kept from attempting to meet deadlines or goals. She does, however, find tending to her land and plants to be meditative, and is therefore less of a crumb bum when engaging in such activities.

Background/Info: Moka exists in a world with ninja, but is not herself a ninja. She is basically a farmer and a courier. She has, however, picked up some ninja tricks which help her in her day to day life - things like chakra control, which enables her to climb/leap over obstacles and to utilize kuromoji sticks as tools for various purposes - and she does have some basic self-defense abilities.

- Is probably stronger and hardier than the average civilian of her age and size;
- Has a deep and varied knowledge base regarding gardening techniques, the medicinal benefits of her preferred plants, and the preparation of various goods using tea leaves and herbs;
- Is scrappy and headstrong, probably able to hold her own in a potential fight against non-ninja combatants.

Should not engage in direct combat with actual ninja, however, even if they are being disrespectful of tea. In spite of the myriad tricks she may have picked up, she is no match for anyone with actual combat training.

Name: Eloise (goes by "Elli")

Origin: "Pokemon"

Age: 12-13

Sex: Female

Occupation: N/A

Race: Human

Physical description: Young and kind of gangly. Not very tall, but her parents are so she'll likely sprout up. Somewhat androgynous.

Personality: Sullen, withdrawn; blunt. Has developed a very stoic facial expression so as to not give away her perpetual discomfort/nervousness when dealing with people, but can be quite emotional when alone.

When she is able to leave home she's able to blossom into more of an "actual person" instead of a "placeholder" and becomes more sociable and confident in herself as she is. However, she retains many anxieties relating to losing what she has - belongings, sure, but also memories, moments, and her mareep.

Background/Info: Elli, whose parents own a farm in Solaceon, is an amnesiac due to a run-in with Uxie. Before losing her memories she wanted to become a pokemon trainer, but made a different decision for the sake of her parents and eventually came to feel that she had missed her chance. After losing her memories she had to relearn many things about day-to-day life. When a year passes and no memories resurface, she feels like it's finally time to embark on a journey to reconcile the girl she once was - the girl whose return everyone seems to be waiting on - with the person she has since become. With her mareep Beau as a companion, she sets out.

During her downtime, she often listens to music with a pair of outsized headphones. She feels they send a clear message that she would rather not be bothered.

She gives Beau a collar/necklace with an everstone on it to prevent him from evolving, as the thought of him changing from the companion she has known from the start is upsetting. When she comes to terms with her situation, she removes the everstone and allows him to evolve as he wishes.

Name: Double!Bonus (Goes by "Bonus" in-game)

Origin: ".hack" series

Age: In high school

Sex: Female

Occupation: "Twin Blade" class

Race: Human

Physical description: Bonus is a shorter-than-average twin blade character. Her build is thin and willowy. The blue markings on her skin and clothing are "wave" markings, but I just added them for looks. I don't know if they're accurate or if simple markings like this exist in the G.U. series.

Personality: Chipper, helpful. Enthusiastic about in-game lore and exploration. Perhaps overly obsessed with Morrigu Barrow Wall.

Likes: Exploring the game with friends, collecting items (gotta have one of everything!), participating on the Apkallu art board.

Dislikes: PKs, PvP fighting, losing (secretly quite competitive)

Background/Info: Bonus visits Morrigu Barrow Wall every time she logs into The World. Eventually, a vagrant AI calling itself the God of Law Folset takes notice and materializes in front of her. The AI claims to be the self-same Folset who, in the lore of the game, built the wall and barred humans from entering the Heavenly Path beyond. He says that he's ready to reassess humanity's worthiness - and Bonus is supposed to be the species representative.

The person who plays Double!Bonus also had a Twin Blade character (named Bonus) in The World R:1.

Bonus (in R:2) is an average player who is online a little more than average. She has no affiliation with the main characters in the games or shows.

old and poorly proportioned!

Name: Siskin Carduelis

Origin: "The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion"

Age: 24-ish

Sex: Female

Occupation: Member of the Thieves' Guild, and an errand-girl for anyone and everyone who meets her eyes and tells a sob story.

Race: Human (Imperial)

Physical description: Has bright orange hair with braids in it.

Personality: A real go-getter, willing to tackle tasks from which the sane shy away. Her Argonian companion Dog Ears thinks that the way she acts is inhuman and believes it is a sign that the gods are using her as their play-thing, setting up big events in the future. In reality she's a bleeding heart who can't stand to leave the helpless un-helped, and she often bites off more than she can chew.

Siskin has a flippant, almost frantic sense of humor and a tendency to hoard books in her waterfront hovel in the Imperial city.

Likes: Archery, Illusion magic, books, helping those in need, surmounting insurmountable odds

Dislikes: THE UNDEAD, Mehrunes Dagon's plane of Oblivion, small spaces

Background/Info: It's weird. Siskin can remember her past, her family - it's all there - but it's like she and they never existed. Conversely, when she wakes up in rags and shackles on the floor of an Imperial Prison cell, she has no idea of how she might have come to be there - no relevant memories are forthcoming. It's as though somebody has completely re-written her history, or like she's been transplanted into someone else's.

However, the wall of the cell is folded back like a door and there's a pathway beyond, so rather than linger, she leaves.

The rough-hewn tunnels and ancient subterranean tombs are dim, not unlike a rabbit's warren. She scavenges some light armor, a weapon or two; she discovers the ability to conjure fire in her hands. She overtakes an Argonian on the path, whose displeased mutterings make it clear that he didn't expect to be a babysitter (which is just too bad, because there was a zombie, AN ACTUAL ZOMBIE back there and she's NOT going to deal with that alone).

And of all people they find the King. He seems kindhearted, and he seems tired, and he seems to recognize her. And then he's killed.

Something's going on that she doesn't understand, but the quest to figure it out couldn't be more clearly-defined.

Siskin was born under the sign of The Ritual. As a result, she has the ability to "turn undead" - that is, to make the undead flee from her - and the ability to heal herself of injury. However, she is only able to muster the power to do each of these once per day, making it very important to save their use until the need for them is the most dire.

Name: Korumaj-Salai (nicknamed "Dog-Ears" because of his head fins)

Origin: "The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion"

Age: Probably approx. late 20s

Sex: Male

Occupation: A Shadowscale assassin; later, an informal page and bodyguard to possible hero Siskin Carduelis.

Race: Argonian

Physical description: Imposing and pointy. Intentionally casual in his movements, though his grace is undeniable.

Personality: Very professional on a job; takes his work very seriously.

Surprisingly jovial and easygoing underneath his Shadowscale training. His personality is kind of like a guy who has accepted that he's dreaming and has decided to make the most of the weird circumstances he finds himself in. This aspect of his personality does not, however, interfere with his savviness and awareness of reality. He has no illusions about the nature of man and will allow no trespass upon his person or tolerance. Except, of course, for those made by his companion Siskin. Godpuppets get a pass.

Background/Info: Like all Shadowscales, Korumaj-Salai was born (hatched?) under the sign of The Shadow and thereafter given over to the Dark Brotherhood for assassin training. As Argonian society is based around family-like village units and solidarity, his isolation from his people made him an outsider. The name he was given when he came of age indicates their distrust for him, translating roughly to "one who keeps his own council/he who keeps secrets" - a trait which, though necessary for an assassin, makes integrating with his village all but impossible.

Korumaj-Salai took to his training like a duck to water and as an assassin is more than proficient. He has an understanding of the way people work which serves him well but which leaves him with low expectations of others. Part of his good humor comes from viewing himself subconsciously as something like an adult among children - as though the actions of those less competent than himself are merely amusing antics to he humored and waved off.

Korumaj-Salai, though very good at his job, had come to find that he was getting no satisfaction from it. But you can't just quit being an assassin for no reason; it's not done, and more than that, it's a dangerous endeavor. You know too much. So, in order to acquire some plausable deniability, he gets himself caught and thrown in jail.

Unfortunately, his carefully-confessed-to crime is such that the jail he gets thrown into is a little bigger than he had hoped it would be, and his sentence a little more final - people don't come out of the Imperial prison after a short and pleasant stay.

Due to a twist of fate, the cell he is assigned to already has an occupant - an unconscious Imperial girl with brightly-colored hair. Then fate twists a bit further, and King Uriel Septim breezes in, pardons his crime, rambles about the girl on the floor, and leaves through the wall. Korumaj-Salai is not one to look a gift horse in the mouth and promptly uses this new escape route. Then the girl catches up to him partway through the maze and he's got a tagalong.

Things seem a little weird with the girl, though. A little too purposeful - a little too unlikely. He thinks on what the King said about her, and he comes to think he can almost see her future - the big things she's destined to do, because the gods are clearly messing with something here. And he thinks, what an amazing opportunity - you can't get pulled back into the job you wanted to quit if you've got another engagement. Maybe it's safer to stick with someone who's supernaturally death-proof, in spite of the dangers she can't seem to avoid. So he becomes HER tagalong. And the rest, I'm hoping, will be a very fun history to explore, indeed.

Name: Jacie "Boomie" Quentin

Origin: "X-men"

Age: 15-16

Sex: Female

Occupation: Student at Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters

Race: Human/mutant

Physical description: Kind of a manic pixie, without the "dream girl" part. Has flaming red hair, a wide-eyed expression, and no idea how to coordinate colors or clothing styles. Generally covered with band-aids.

Personality: Jacie wields her high levels of energy like a shield so nobody can tell how terrified she is of not being in control of herself. She has few to no friends, but acts as though there's nobody who ISN'T friends with her - a real social butterfly.

Likes: Colors, creative writing work, talking, romantic comedies, combat training, Professor Xavier, Guest-Professor Gambit

Dislikes: Having a reputation that precedes her, being condescended to, not being in control of her powers

Background/Info: It wasn't always this way - things like this change with time, she's told - but Jacie's power is to explode. Or, no, that's not her power, but it's how her power is currently manifesting. And it's ruining everything. When she is overcome with certain "swelling" emotions (happiness, excitement, anger, embarrassment - any emotion that grows in intensity as she is experiencing it), she literally "bursts," and when she re-forms everything from the cute clothes she was just wearing to the hallway she was just standing in are anywhere from tattered to decimated.

It's only gotten worse since she started attending Professor Xavier's school, and she doesn't know why. When she was at home with her parents it almost never happened; now that she's here, with all these scared, distrustful eyes on her... well, she needs a lot of supervision just to get through the week. The nurse keeps lots of sets of spare clothes on hand for her and a few of the professors/alumni can suppress her power, but that doesn't take the sting out of having to repeat a grade or out of driving any potential friends off with the danger she could put them in.

Jacie needs somebody with whom she can be paired in her classes and her training - somebody who can either help her control her power, or who can outright suppress it. Without such help, Jacie feels sure that she's destined to fail forever.

Name: Wyatt (Also goes simply by "(the) Courier")

Origin: "Fallout: New Vegas" (Player character stand-in)

Age: 22

Sex: Female

Occupation: Courier; Wasteland Messiah.

Race: Human (Hispanic)

Physical description: Seems less imposing than she can be. Was pretty hale and hardy, able to cross the desert to make deliveries. Since the incident with Benny, she gets bad headaches, has trouble working with her hands or aiming a gun, finds reading more difficult than it was, and suffers from the occasional seizure. But she gets a real crazy look in her eye sometimes and suddenly the physical infirmities don't seem like as much of a barrier between you and her as you might like. That is to say, she took the Terrifying Presence perk, because it's funny for a short girl to scare the pants off gangsters and military men.

Has two bullet scars on her head, some other scars from regular wasteland wear and tear, and a cataract in one eye.

Personality: Arcade says that hypomania can be a side-effect of traumatic brain damage like what she's suffered, but all the Courier knows is that she can't seem to sit still for long, and for some reason she feels like she can take on the world. Her new physical limitations don't stop her from tinkering with electronics, mediating conflicts, or spelunking in long-abandoned vaults filled to the brim with rabid beasties. Which is probably why it's a good thing she always has Boone and ED-E along to settle the more dangerous disputes for her... like who's gonna leave this vault alive.

Frankly, her dedication to setting things right stems from a sense of pride that she should be the one to correct the problem. She doesn't form many social connections and really enjoyed being a courier because the vastness of the desert made her feel like she was the only person in the world. It's unclear whether she has a realistic view of the world or not - whether she sees herself as as a person doing good, or as the owner of the dollhouse keeping things in order.

Likes: "Johnny Guitar," her companions, resolving conflicts peacefully, messing with electronic or mechanical devices, devouring books to gain more knowledge

Dislikes: Gunfights, chems, being unprepared, questions with no answers, situations that don't go according to plan

Background/Info: A courier for funsies, inasmuch as traipsing across a deadly desert filled with murder-minded monsters can be fun, Wyatt unintentionally got herself in too deep and took a bullet or two from a disreputable fellow in a checkered coat.

The Courier comes to find she doesn't much care for the way other people are handling a valuable resource like New Vegas and thinks, hey, maybe a place like this would be better placed in more capable hands. Guess whose hands she's talking about.

Name: Mudan

Origin: "Kung Fu Panda"

Age: N/A

Sex: Female

Occupation: N/A

Race: Pangolin

Physical description: A delicate flower who happens to be covered in razor-sharp armor plates!

Her design needs to be fixed up and finalized since I haven't drawn more than a concept for her yet.

Likes: The color pink, collecting teacups, pressing flowers, practicing T'ai Chi

Personality: Pangolins are non-aggressive and slow-moving by nature. Mudan's goal is not to fight but to reach peace. She is passingly shy and politely wary but is an unfailingly good hostess.

Background/Info: Mudan doesn't come equipped with a story. She's a kind young pangolin who likes a calm, clear day and enjoys drinking tea in an open pavilion. Like many young folks, she has a dream of adventure in her heart. She practices T'ai Chi, which was popularized because of its meditative forms and health benefits, but which can also be an incredibly defensive form of martial arts (which I thought was fitting for a pangolin, considering they are covered with armor plates - the epitome of defensiveness!).

Name: Genesis

Origin: Original character (exists in the same universe as Ripley and Calhoun)

Age: 20s

Sex: Female

Occupation: Manager of a small troupe of circus performers; group mom

Race: Human (African-American)

Physical description: Wears utilitarian outfits which can handle the tasks she's required to do around the circus grounds - flannels, overalls. Always looks tired.

Personality: No-nonsense, get-things-done personality. Not very social, but has a tendency to look out for people, even those she doesn't often speak with. Likes for things to go the way they are supposed to, but is really more resigned than anything when they don't.

Background/Info: Genesis somehow ended up under the thumb of a crooked "Ringmaster" and hasn't figured out how to escape there yet. He has dirt on her which keeps her there. She also feels she can't leave until she figures out how to free everyone else there, too - even if they don't know they need freeing. The problem is that she's part of the danger that is present for everyone else.

The woman has some kind of power she can't control - a dangerous power which only activates when she's asleep. As a result of this she tries to avoid sleeping as much as possible and uses a variety of techniques to attempt to direct her dreams. Her power may or may not create monsters, but as she is asleep when it is active she only has the word of the man blackmailing her to go on.

Gen is a part-time manager and part-time mother hen for the other performers. She oversees everything, coordinates efforts, and also performs menial and maintenance tasks around the grounds, keeping things in order.

Name: Ripley

Origin: Original Character (exists in the same universe as Genesis and Calhoun.)

Age: Late teens/early 20s

Sex: Female

Occupation: Acrobat/aerial gymnast

Race: Human (Latina)

Physical description: Has a thin gymnast's build, which makes her stronger than she looks. Has long dark hair which she keeps in messy braided pigtails and dyes a coppery color. Her eyes are green-grey. Fashionable and usually very well-dressed.

Personality: A bubbly girly-girl who loves people and loves clothes even more. Ripley has a closet and drawers full of clothes for any occasion.

She's a sweetheart and a romantic who wants to be everyone's friend.

Background/Info: Ripley is one of the performers under the thrall of "the Ringmaster," the same man blackmailing Genesis. She is unaware that she is under the effects of his memory-altering powers and is susceptible because she has no powers of her own.

Believe it or not, Ripley can't remember much of anything about her past or her family. She's at a small countryside circus now as a performer, though, and she's very talented at what she does, a fact she's rightly proud of.

Ripley sometimes has misgivings about her job and the place she lives, but she can't remember them for long and they don't bother her very much. She's got friends and she's doing what she loves.

Ripley named herself when she became a performer because she couldn't remember her given/birth name. The name does indeed come from the franchise dealing with the bizarre and unbelievable, and she hopes it conveys a sense of wonder and adventure, which fits her image of a circus acrobat.

Name: Calhoun (goes by "Cal")

Origin: Original character (exists in the same universe as Genesis and Ripley)

Age: Mid-20s

Sex: Male

Occupation: Trick motorcycle rider at the circus

Race: Human (English?)

Physical description: Fairly good-looking with dark, short hair and dark eyes. Keeps toned/fit. Average-tall.

Personality: Cal is vain, superior, and generally unpleasant. He can be mean-spirited and doesn't have much of a sense of humor. His only two exceptions are when he pretties up his personality to pursue short flings, and his relationship with Gen and Ripley, who take exactly zero of his crap, which seems to have a calming effect on him.

Honestly, at his core he's probably not as bad as he appears to be. The control he's under undoubtedly magnifies the worst parts of his personality to keep him too unstable to leave. I'd put money on the "calming effect" of being around Gen and Ripley actually being a slight nullification of his thrall.

Background/Info: Calhoun is one of the performers under the thrall of "the Ringmaster," the same man blackmailing Genesis. He is unaware that he is under the effects of his memory-altering powers and is susceptible because he has no powers of his own.

Cal doesn't remember much of his past and has nothing but vague feelings toward what little he does remember. It's like all of the negative things were amplified in his mind - but he's sure that he's remembering it that way because that's the way it was, and that he's well quit of his past, as it was only an obstacle on his way to glory. Currently, he's performer at a small countryside circus, where he rides a motorcycle and performs stunts - dangerous ones such as the Wall/Globe of Death. He is basically a rockstar in his own mind, and he has the talent to back it up.

He's sure that this is just one step on the way to world renown and wouldn't dream of going back to his old life of obscurity and mediocrity. His plan is to continue to hone his skills here for however long it takes before he feels he's ready to go - and then he's gone. But he's not there yet.

Calhoun did not name himself, but he doesn't remember his surname. He doesn't find this strange and is sure that he forgot it intentionally because his family was holding him back from greatness, or some other such inane thing.

Name: Sophia

Origin: Original character

Age: College-age

Sex: Female

Occupation: Student (with aspirations to be a necromancer/seamstress)

Race: Human

Physical description: Heavier-set/curvy. Has pinkish-brown hair with a mind of its own - so she wrangles it into tightly-bound pigtails to keep it under control. (It's longer than it looks, too; it's almost doubled over in its binding.) Her eyes are cinnamon red. The outfit she's wearing is her self-styled "adventuring" outfit, in no way practical but fun to have made.

Personality: Is airheaded/flighty and brashly overconfident in turns. She's kind of bossy and takes it for granted that things will go her way, and as a result tends to underperform with the expectation that natural talent will carry her through any given situation. Hasn't really had much contact with the "real world" but is sure that she's more than capable of handling it.

Background/Info: Sophia lives at home with her mother, a seamstress and serious businesswoman in their town. Her father is rarely home, but he is well-known as the King's necromancer (the king is almost certainly an evil one). All the same, he is highly regarded, as in spite of the king's own disposition, Sophia's father is a kind man and a prodigy.

While her mother attempts to get Sophia to commit to making plans for her future - namely, to take her apprenticeship seriously and to work toward following in her footsteps - Sophia (who is certain she's going to make an excellent tailor so calm down, Mom) is studying the art of necromancy in the magic department of the town's university. After all, there's no reason you can't follow in both parents' footsteps, right? Besides, think of all the extra hands you could raise from the grave to help around the shop! Think of the advertising opportunities!

When by a fluke Sophia receives passing credit for her necromancy course, thus releasing her from university for the summer, several things happen in quick succession.

First, the King, who has been issuing cagey, oppressive decrees across the kingdom, begins making mumbling warlike noises about the neighboring kingdom(s).

Second, Sophia's father, who has missed a few of his scheduled visits home, fails to react to the news of Sophia's passing grade, which really he should be pretty excited about.

Third, an old ex-hero squatting somewhere around the outskirts of town comes out of retirement with the intention of confronting the King and begins making preparations to set out for the castle.

Fourth, Sophia decides that, all things being equal, she's more than ready to start seeing the world herself, so she might as well make herself a member of that adventuring party. That way she can do something proactive and visit her dad at the same time!

From there the story unfolds.

Name: Zebby

Origin: Original Character

Age: ???

Sex: Male

Occupation: Guardian

Race: D... dragon?

Physical description: Zebby most frequently chooses to appear in a human form, regardless of what his actual species might be - which I guess just makes him functionally human.

In this form, he looks a little wolfish, with spiked, dark red hair and sideburns. He wears glasses (because he needs them). His ears are pointy. He may or may not have horns and/or a tail. He has piercings (lip, ears, others??) and one large tattoo - a circular mark which goes around his left side and loops around back of his neck, encompassing his head, arm, and heart. This tattoo is a binding circle which symbolizes bending his thoughts and actions to the service of a ward. When it's activated he is bound to whatever person the mark specifies, essentially becoming their guardian by necessity. It's not currently activated, though, and he's not sure how it will happen. He doesn't put it on display or talk about it, and would probably never let on about its purpose if he had a choice.

Personality: Cool and level-headed, Zebby has existed for a long time and has a deep well of patience to draw from. He doesn't seem to have a temper or a tendency to become vicious - not that's been seen, anyway. In fact, he doesn't seem to feel very strongly about anything - or if he does, he doesn't show it. He has personality quirks like a cat's: He'll follow you around and stick close, but he'll act like it's pure coincidence or, worse, an inconvenience. He will sometimes actually perform minor inconveniences or actions which have the air of a cat pushing something off of a table. He knows what he's doing, but affects a smarmy sort of "Whoops! Was that me?" attitude.

Background/Info: This guy doesn't come with a pre-loaded story; he's just a character I've had floating around since forever. I'd be cool to use him in whatever capacity.
