Introduction

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who had shown interest in role playing in an LGBT supportive storyline! Its amazing to see that people support LGBT relationships and are eagar to give LGBT characters their time for romance! I hope to create a normal environment that still keeps the edgy plots of a straight-based, only this time there will be more LGBT people to interact with and characters will not be judged by having their character fall in love with a man or a woman!

The reason I chose Fantasy/Romance/Modern was because it seemed the general consensus in my Interest Check was to have some sort of Fantasy based RP! I saw some Medieval role-play suggestions in the comments, but did some research and found that (surprise, surprise) LGBT wasn’t culturally acceptable in that time period. So I did some more research on Modern Day fantasy locations and found New Orleans, an LGBT friendly, supernatural capital featured in many spooky and supernatural titles like: American Horror Story, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, The Originals and of course Disney’s Haunted Mansion!

Now without further ado, let us discuss the plot!

Plot Synopsis:

Set in modern day New Orleans, the aspiring individuals of this lively and thriving area are somewhat different; despite thousands of tourists weekly. Unknowing to the human population, within New Orleans is a thriving community of Supernatural beings; whom live in anonymity among the glitz and the glamour.

Within this supernatural safe haven though, a hierarchy of Vampires had gained control over the territory back in the early 1800’s and has set strict limitations on every other occult; failure to comply with these five commandments will be met with cruel and unusual punishment.

1. Witches are prohibited from using magic out of a ‘spell-locked’ zone.
2. Werewolves are required to take a daily injection of morphine to keep their senses nulled and powers dormant.
3. Killing a Vampire is punishable by slow death.
4. No Witches or Werewolves are allowed in the rich French Quarter, under any circumstances.
5. Attempts to overthrow the current Vampire Hierarchy will be severely punished.

Rumor has it, that there is an underground organization of Rogue Vampires, Witches, Werewolves and allegedly 'Angels/Demons' who are plotting against the social injustice within the city’s confines; will you join the rebellion, or abide by Vampiric society?

Occult List:

Vampire

The most prestigious and wealthy, Vampires are treated as higher class citizens and have no limitations on power; which makes them universally hated amongst other inhuman entities. With limitless power, Vampires often will feed from unsuspecting tourists without the fear of reprimanding; since the police and morgue services are Vampires themselves. Commonly, vampires attend public executions of Werewolves and Witches and feel no remorse; viewing the accused as undeserving of mercy, most vampires have become brainwashed killing machines.

Will you be one of them, or rebel?
Basic Abilities: Immortality, Youthful Appearance, Persuasion, Superhuman Speed

Special Abilities (+1 Hidden): Flight, Telekinesis, Mind Reading, Transformation (Bat), Superhuman Strength, Teleportation

**Note: Persuasion only works on Humans to do your bidding.
**Note: Teleportation abuse will not be tolerated, use sparingly.

Werewolf

Tough, burly and masculine! The physicality of a werewolf is easy to spot, with piercing golden eyes, sharp teeth, body hair and killer muscles. Currently, Werewolves have the lowest population numbers in New Orleans and are seen as a vampire’s biggest threat. Unfortunately, because of this they have the highest execution numbers of every occult. Werewolves are very territorial and possess the power transform at will to protect the ones they love; however, this ability along with many others is nullified with the use of Morphine as directed by the vampire hierarchy.

Will you take the injection, or rebel?

Basic Abilities: Night Vision, Superhuman Reflexes, Superhuman Senses, Pheromone Charm

Special Abilities (+1 Hidden): Superhuman Speed, Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Endurance, Superhuman Healing, Wall Crawling, Superhuman Agility.

**Note: Charm meaning they can seduce people with Werewolf pheromones easily, doesn’t work on Vampires who are repulsed by the smell.

Witch

Witches have spells for pretty much anything, but are heavily reliant on a spell book. In a city run by Vampires, witches who use Ancestral Magic are bound to New Orleans whether they like the current dictatorship or not. Although good things can come from magic, the Vampires were only concerned with the bad things; thus witches were forced to create ‘spell-locked’ zone, the St. Louis cemetery (to protect their ancestor’s magic). A non-witch or non-human may not enter the ‘spell locked’ zone unless invited in, which keeps vampires out and provides a safe haven for witches to create potions and cast spells. If a witch is caught casting magic outside of a “spell locked zone”, the penalty is a slow and painful death.

Will you cast spells outside of the zone?

Basic Abilities: Cast Spells, Alchemy, Powerful with a single element, Link someone with Voo Doo

Special Abilities (+1 Hidden): Choose one Element your powerful with, there are limitless spells as long as you have them in your spell book (-do not abuse for plots sake please!)

**Note: Ancestral Magic meaning that each dead ancestor has passed down their magic to you, if you leave the province your Ancestors were buried in; you lose your powers.
**Note: ’Spell locked’ zones are protected areas where only witches and pure-blood humans can enter, If you are an occult you must be invited in. Within ‘spell locked’ zones, witches can cast any spell they want; but the spell will not take effect to anything outside the spell locked zone; additonally once the zone is left, the spell becomes void and will no longer be active! (-So heal up inside the zone, or your wounds might open up!)

Angels and Demons

Not much is known about Angels and Demons, they are assumed to be a myth since there is no proof of their existence. Angels are known to be strong warriors, have a positive attitude assisting causes they deem worthy. Demons are known to be tricksters, very manipulative and evil while having a cunning and sly demeanor, they are known to be smooth talkers and very irresistible.

Basic Abilities: Teleportation, Flight, Superhuman Healing, Immortality

Angel Special Abilities (+1 Hidden): Healing, Pacify, Miracle, Levitation, Weapons Mastery

Demon Special Abilities (+1 Hidden): Shape shifting (Another person), Fire Conjuring, Persuasion (see Vamp), Superhuman Speed, Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Reflexes, Weapons Mastery
**Note: Pacify calms a hostile target for as long as the Angel keeps direct physical contact.

**Note: Miracle allows one ex-machina style; get out of jail free card for another person who is in a tight spot in the RP, you cannot use it on yourself.

Jackson Square

The headquarters of the Vampire Hierarchy that doubles as a supernatural courthouse, one may only enter the building on a judicial basis or by private appointment with the head of New Orleans. As a supernatural being, the last place you want to be; is in that courthouse.

H. Latter Memorial Library

Got a thing for knowledge? The H. Latter Memorial Library boasts the largest selection of books in all of New Orleans! Located in the outskirts of the French Quarter, this library is hardly visited by any occult other than vampires since it houses important documents relating to the current political status of New Orleans! Tread carefully!

Delphine LaLaurie House

After a judgment at Jackson Square, if you are found guilty; you are taken to the LaLaurie house, known as the ‘slaughterhouse’ or the house of murder. People who enter the LaLaurie house, never are seen again; rumor has it they are encased in cages and encased in a brick wall, with one brick exposed for food and psychological torture. People who walk by the LaLaurie house report hearing moans, screams and blood dripping from the brick walls, spooky!

Brandenburg Casino

Located in the more developed areas of New Orleans, this casino is known for its grand prize giveaways and unfortunately its rigged slots. Play some craps or black jack, who knows; maybe you will strike it big!

Club Plasma

A vampire club dedicated to one thing only, feeding. A large amount of humans are invited to party in the club, but when that clock strikes midnight; it’s time to go, and fast! Who knows, you might end up as their next meal.

Main Street:

The Voodoo Shop

Sick of that annoying boss or a clingy girlfriend? One stop at the Voodoo Shop will take them right off your back! Tourists often buy little Voodoo doll trinkets, but do not possess the power to use them. If you possess the power of Voodoo, this store is your best stop for all your ingredient needs!

Church of Versailles

Religiously French-based Church of Versailles is the most popular wedding spot for traditional weddings, the place is lively with people on Sunday mornings and is said to have such a strong holy power that demons cannot tread near the building. Rumor has it; this church has been blessed by the Angels to keep humans safe from the occult. (Similarly to ‘spell-lock’ zones, you may only enter the building if you are a human or invited in by an Angel.)

Café Le Beignet

A traditional French theme Café known for their espresso shots and delectable fresh baguette’s and croissants! Pop in if you need a little pick-me-up, or just want to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery New Orleans has to offer!

Main Street Strip

Into posh Nightclubs or listening to live Jazz? Although this place may be sleepy during the daytime, at night the lights come on and the street becomes booming with colorful lights and thousands of people; truly a unique experience! Also home to the fragrant Wicks and Sticks, for all your incense needs!

Saenger Theatre

Known as New Orleans most popular tourist attraction, the Saenger Theatre is one of few spots that Original Broadway performers tour too! Catch a ticket to Hairspray, Sweeney Todd, Rent and other well-known cult-classics performed by the most talented Broadway actors!

Luce's Gay Bar

For those of you LGBT Individuals, New Orleans has just the thing for you! The most popular Gay bar in all of New Orleans, Luce’s Bar! Dance under the party lights, or grab a fruity and flashy drink at the bar; watch Drag Queens preform and have a great time from dusk until dawn!

Huskers Restaurant

The one of the most popular “restaurant, and bar, and grill” in all of New Orleans, said to be the home of southern cooking; this place has won many awards for great taste and excellent service!

Le Pompidou

The most prestigious and beautiful restaurant in all of New Orleans. Usually booked for fancy dates and weddings, rumor has it that the place has a six month waiting list; unless you are wealthy or have some social significance.

The Yesterday Café

Known for their sweet pastries, the yesterday café stays true to Southern-French roots; making milk chocolate crepes and a caramel macchiato that will blow your mind! The service is described as angelicly polite and kind, giving this place overall positive reviews! This café is very well known and popular with tourists with a sweet hankering!

Audubon Park

Romantic and beautiful rose gardens and forest filled areas make this place look like it came straight from a fairytale! Take a carriage ride though the gardens, or feed the ducks at the fountain; it’s the perfect place to get away from fast-pace life!

New Orleans East Hospital

Courtesy, Concern, Kindness and Compassion! The New Orleans East Hospital's mission is to provide quality health care to the tourists and locals of main street New Orleans! Complete with an emergency room, are devoted to helping all who walk through the doors! This place is another very popular place for vampire feedings; the blood lab provides blood of every type in rations for each vampire in the city, for those who aren’t ‘human’ incline.

New Orleans Police Station

Feared by all occults, the New Orleans City Police Station is known for being tough on law breakers. The Police Officers under the New Orleans jurisdiction will patrol streets, set up hidden cameras and spy on the general occult population (-to such an extent where they may even become your friend to gain information). Their goal is to arrest witches or werewolves who do not abide by city regulations, but their #1 priority is to find the last Blood born Alpha whom has been missing since he was only ten years old. Keep your friends close, enemies closer and do not admit to anything.

City Outskirts:

New Orleans Marketplace

The one-stop-shop for every need, with only the freshest fruits, vegetables and meats; it’s a farmers market – year round! Who needs bargain-bend shops when you have these prices? (I suppose the Vampires really care about what their food eats)

The Little Antique Store

Searching for that perfect item for your house? This store is home to many rustic and unique antiques out of continuation, it’s rumored that witches use this store to bind people to objects; but New Orleans is full of urban legends, right?

Witchcraft and Majick

For tourists, this store is just another gag-gift store; a place to buy silly souvenirs about witches and magic tricks, bur for witches this place is essential for all their ingredient needs! Be sure to stop by for a spell or two!

New Orleans Private Oasis

An extension to a massage/spa parlor in New Orleans, this private pool is said to have healing herbs from the local witch shop infused into the water to promote physical and emotional healing; it is said to be a very relaxing experience and is only available to the supernatural of New Orleans, for the right price.

St. Louis Cemetery

The most important location for witches, the only place they can practice magic safely. The one and only ‘spell-locked’ zone where witches and humans are allowed free access; supernatural beings must be invited in and out; to keep the witches safe. Be careful though, once you leave the cemetery your spells cease to take effect; so heal up that gash before you leave, or your guts might come spilling out!

Forest:

Rootless Oak Bar

Situated near the outskirts of the deep woods, this hole-in-the-wall bar is known for being exclusively popular with the werewolf community and has been the location of various human mauls and massacres over the years thanks to unexpected tourists being in the wrong place, wrong time. The main attraction at this bar is what the wolves call “Adrenaline shots”, alcohol mixed with adrenaline inducing werewolf hormones to buff the senses and give you the feeling of your wolf-form, in human form; drink at your own risk.

Uncharted ‘Woods’ Territory

This area is uncharted on the New Orleans map, so be careful not to get lost! Rumor has it, half-man half-wolf like creatures hunt in the areas; which is backed up by multiple disappearances in the area, tread carefully or you might be their next meal!

Swamp:

Lunar Tide Nightclub

Protected by the Aligators and muck, this nightclub was built underground; adjacent to the water in the deep swamp; the only way to find this club is by a Tracker Spell, which will point your compass to the location. The main attraction at this club, chugging potions with different effects! It’s like getting drunk, but for witches!

Uncharted ‘Swamp’ Territory

This area is uncharted on the New Orleans map, so be careful not to get lost! The area is swarming with bugs, water and alligators; be sure to tread water carefully while boating! Rumor has it, there is a hidden witchcraft hut in the uncharted swamp that only witches can find; it is said that spells can be cast here safely, without the inhibiting effects of a spell locked zone; the uncharted area means Vampire trackers cannot pinpoint an exact location of where the spell is coming from, but that’s probably an urban legend.

Location: Tremé (translates from French as the Neighborhood or Suburb)
Notes: might be a good place for the witches to reside since St. Louis Cementary #1 is in the Tremé. The cementary is where, as legend has it, different magic practitioners were buried (Marie Laveau is said to be buried there for example) . Also the district is close to the French Quarter.

Family: Eleanor's family is large, rich and affluent in the vampire community and in New Orleans generally. Her father, Virgil, is the chief of police and her mother, Sylvia, is part of the city government. There are tons of siblings, many of which are half-siblings from Sylvia's previous marriage (Eleanor has lost count of her siblings honestly that's how prolific her parents are). She also has so many aunts and uncles that she hasn't heard of a large portion of them. All of them, of course, are ridiculously rich, and the family has so much money that Eleanor has begun to suspect it's infinite.

Appearance:

Personality: To humans, Eleanor appears to be a stereotypical snobby, unintelligent, rich girl. To other creatures, she likely appears the same way, except also a spoiled vampire. She gets anything money can pay for and, of course, is used to getting her way. Most often refuses to even associate with non-vampires with the obvious exception of eating humans alive. Hates family dinners because despite it being basically cannibalism, her parents insist on using table manners: something Eleanor has no regard for. (Despite that, she usually changes into a suspiciously blood-stained T-shirt before feeding, so as not to dirty her fancy dresses.) The most interaction she usually has with werewolves and witches is taunting- i.e. "I trust you've taken your morphine," along with a smug smirk that anyone short of an angel would want to knock off her face.

History: Being so rich, Eleanor has had a sheltered life. She was surprisingly distressed the first time she saw a human killed "for the good of the clan", but quickly became desensitized to violence. There's not much more other than that; her parents are insanely protective of her due to her youth compared to many other vampires, and they never let her leave the house without company before she was eighteen. After she was eighteen, they still arranged for chaperones and the like to accompany her wherever she went, but she often got away without them, and her exhausted parents eventually gave up, as they were quite occupied with all their other children.

Occult History: Eleanor has known of her transformation ability since she was about six, although it took years of practice to master. She discovered her persuasion ability when she was sixteen and having a bad day; a human got in her way and she snapped at them to jump off a bridge. She was very surprised to get a blank-sounding "Yes ma'am".

Occult Status: Not exactly royalty, but has a sort of nobility status among the vampires due to her wealth.

Additional Info: Her bat form is a hoary bat.
Also, she'll slowly realize the error of her ways IC!

The plot is rather Voodoo or Elemental, Ancesteral Sorcery. If you do VooDoo you posses powers to physically harm other people; while Elemental witches have more power from the elements around them, and aren't really about hurting people they deem good.

-and yes, you may have roommates! Just remember to get another persons permission or create another character to live with you! I'll set the maximum of three roommates to a house. :)
