Here's my CS

Name: Raynard
Age: 18
Gender: male
Personality: Raynard is a mostly cheerful and carefree individual, but when a friend or a place here cares about is threatened then he will take on a serious attitude and fight as hard as he can to protect those he cares about. As natural at entertainment Raynard loves it when fairs and festivals come around to give him a chance to entertain those who seek to have their mood brightened. One of his flaws is that he sometimes doesn't when to not speak and has a problem with holding back an insult to those who are rude with him. He has a gift with taunting and not having too much of a care for danger. He is also very charismatic and tries to say inspiring words to those who need them and will take charge if an inspirational leader is needed.
Starting Skills:
Head-shot - he very accurately throws a boomerang at an enemy's head for a hard hit and then it flies back into his hand.

Element: Earth
Weapon of choice: He uses three magic Boomerangs that will always return to him when he throws them.

History: Raynard was born human and always had dreams of becoming a world famous entertainer, but one day when he was thirteen and traveling through land of mystics, he came across an elder of the race. The mystic was rather rude and said mean things to him and Raynard retaliated with his own insults. Infuriated, the mystic cursed him and Raynard was changed into the form of a human-like fox. Shocked at what had been done to him, he ran as far away from Medina as he could. Raynard was at first disturbed by his inhuman appearance, but after a while he got use to it and continued on with his life and dreams.

After five years had passed and the curse still with him, Raynard didn't think it would ever go away and he accepted that possible truth. His performing skills had improved greatly as well as his skills with throwing boomerangs, which he had been training how to use since he was eleven. He eventually came across a traveling merchant who offered to sell him three magic boomerangs for a large price, but Raynard wanted them as his weapons and bought them. Just in time for the Millennial Fair, he has started to show people his tricks and entertainment skills. With his magic boomerangs he was sure to impress people and come closer to his dream.

actually I planned to have my character start in 1000 AD since I mentioned the Millennial Fair in his backstory.

The question is how will you guys time travel? I have a few Ideas, one is that Lucca making the Telepod is still canon and a magical artifact that one of you three has reacts with it in the same way the Pendant did, sending the holder back in time to 600 AD. The remaining 2 could do 1 of 2 things. either they could follow the original holder, or try to find out what caused the travel. My second Idea is that possibly @Weird Tales's magical fox curse causes the travel and yada, yada, yada. My last idea is that you all have a run in with some angry Fiends/Mystic and they send you back in time. That idea would require more work since there would need to be another way to travel.

I'm open to either decisions. We could also just have Marle as an NPC who gets sucked back in time.

Personally, I'd like to not rely too much on Canon PCs.

I like the artifact idea, though. Perhaps the artifact IS the pendant, given it seems to be a key part of Chrono Trigger? Plus, other than the teleporter freaking out, all the time travel until the Epoch is through Time Gates. The Time Gates, iirc, are the result of Lavos' presence and were always there, and they vanish when Lavos is killed. So we don't really need to have the teleporter so much as an accident involving the time gates.

@Ryuzaki I think that we need to have the time gate without the need for a pendant, or physical item that a specific character carries/uses. I know that Lucca always had the Gate Key, but she was always with the party. If someone gets separated from the person who can open the gates, then they are stuck, unless it's something that everyone has.

Of course, if we're all together, all of the time, then we can have the pendant, or gate key, or Raynard's fox curse etc.

@Uruvion I was simply trying to find a way to begin the story. Lucca could be removed from the party, making a plot hole in that aspect. I was thinking of making a rule: One who has traveled through time once can do it at will as long as there is a time gate nearby.

I agree with the statement on canon PCs. They would make the story too akin to the original. Perhaps the artifact simply causes a time gate to appear and afterward above rule from my first post of this double post would apply.
