[IC] Red vs Blue - Freelancer Chronicles (The Reboot!!!!)

Deep Space, Orbiting Luna, Near Earth
2552 A.D.

The Speakers throughout the Freelancer Cruiser blared a Message to the resting Freelancers who had Returned but 5 hours Ago from an Intelligence Operation on Luna. 'All Agents to the Training Room. Calling All Agents' this Message Repeated 10 times before cutting out. There was Silence aboard the Mother of Invention. A freelancer training session was a sight to behold for most of the staff and marines. Most of the staff made their way to the training room to watch the training unfold, if you listened close Enough you could here staff and marines alike reminiscing about sessions they had seen before. "Do you remember the time York hit South from across the arena that one time" an Officer might say and then a surge of people would begin arguing over what actually happened. It could be compared to that of Grifball matches with fans of each opponents fighting over who was the best.

The Freelancer team consisting of Nevada, California, Iowa, D.C, Minnesota and Hawaii had just returned from a scouting Operation on Draco V after a rebel group had started attacking UNSC and Draco V Military bases on the planets surface.

Min had been wanting some R'n'R when they got back to the Mother of Invention. Maybe have a few cans of Lift Bridge. But that idea went out the window as soon as the announcement came over the loudspeaker. "Damn," he growled to himself.

Nevada was sat in the barracks as the Announcement was made. she had literally just taken her helmet off. "Seriously, i know they want us on top of our game and everything but this is ridiculous" she made her way out of the barracks and into the hallway where she was swept away with the masses of staff and marines charging through. "Anyone else know how to get past this mob of people?" she said down the mic to the agent channel

Among the tallest of the freelancer group, California was hanging up a punching bag in his room. Luckily, he hadn't begun taking off his armour so he walked out of his room with confidence and a bit of a smug smile behind his helmet. He stood next to Nevada when she asked about moving through this crowd. "Like this..." He replied as California started to politely move over the staff. "Sorry, sorry, excuse me." California repeated as he started moving them out of the way. He cut a swathe, allowing Nevada to move through behind him. "So.. what did ya think of Delta V?" He asked over the mic.

I.O. was just about to start her training in one of the training rooms when the announcement came blaring through the speakers, when the voice finally stopped she unlocked the door and walked out into the hallway almost running into a group of marines that walking by. Iowa's helmet was tucked under her arm as she walked though she kept the same almost bored look on her face, "they must really want us to be the best..." she thought before walking up behind her teammates Agent Nevada and Agent California. I.O. smiled when she heard them talking about the latest mission but stayed quiet though she did wave to get their attention.

Min drew his knife and began sharpening it against his pauldron. It was a nervous tic, just like how he bounced his leg when he was sitting. It was unconscious, second nature. He'd been that way for years. Living on the street had toughened him up. And it was that lifestyle that had allowed him to become a Freelancer.

Hawaii and D.C. were already in the training room. They were in a far corner sparring in full armor. Hawaii wasn't in his ADS of course, rather he was wearing a lighter set not unlike what the marines wore. But even for having non-powered armor Hawaii was able to stand toe-to-toe with D.C.. they were partway into a second round when the announcement to gather in the training room sounded. They stopped for a moment while the announcement repeated but as they were already there they went back to sparring until the others could get through the crowd at the door.

Nevada joked back on the comms "It was cool. would have been better were it not for the Rebels. Might go back there on Vacation, hahaha" she turned around to see if there was a way around the mass of people and saw Iowa. "right we should possibly get moving. dont want to keep the nice people waiting." she turned around and began pushing her way through to the locker room. "'scuse me, coming through. dont mind me ive got nowhere else to be. HEY watch it"

Min made his way to the training room. Despite his choice of armor color, he did his best not to stand out more than he wanted. He remembered that, when he joined, his armor had been maroon and gold. Then, as a joke, that idiot Wisconsin had spray-painted the maroon purple. The two had gotten into a fight that resulted in the both of them being put at the very bottom of the Board-- Wisconsin at 49, and Min at 50. But he'd made his way back up, but not as high as he'd wanted to.

He blocked out the crowds as he entered the training room. At least those dragon ladies aren't here, he thought. He, like most other people, was afraid of Texas and Carolina. Not that anyone would admit it out loud.

Nevada had managed to push through into the Locker room as the last few stragglers made their way onto the viewing platform in the Arena. The voice came over the Loud Speakers again. "Todays match will be Last Team Standing. there will be 3 rounds and two teams of 6. The Line up for Red team will be Agents Iowa, Minnesota, Hawaii, Nevada, D.C and California. The Line up for Blue will be Agents North Dakota, South Dakota, Florida, Utah, Georgia and Maine. The Rules for todays match are, LockDown Rounds only, No Hand to Hand Combat and no Explosives. Good Luck Reds and Blues"

California also pushed through, listening intently to the loud speaker. "Ooh, a 6 v 6." He commented offhandedly. He walked to the locker room and opened it up, the locker proudly showed a bear paw on it. California looked inside and pulled out a lockout pistol. After admiring it for a half a minute, he finally snapped back to reality and clipped in a lockout magazine. He waited for the rest of the team, and when they all finally arrived, California asked "Alright guys, what's the plan?"

"I think we should try flanking, i mean im not quite sure about you guys but id rather stay away from Maine's front" Nevada joked. It really didnt matter where they attacked from they we up against a team from the Top 20 on the leaderboards. Maybe if they had a Solid plan then they could do it

"Up against these guys?" Min said. His voice was steady. "So it looks like FILSS is trying to kill us." He swapped out the live rounds on his armor and in his weapons with training ones. "But at the very least we aren't getting up close and personal with Maine." He pumped his shotty and slung it across his back. "Distract and flank would be the best idea." He readied his DMR. "But then, they're the best, so they would probably expect that."

Iowa walked in and went straight to her locker after setting her helmet down on a bench, "don't get pincered by the twins either" she said in her usual leveled tone as she pulled out two training pistols and an SMG from her locker and loaded the paint rounds into them, "Those two work like a machine at times though if we take down one of them it would make it easier". Iowa pulled the slide back on the pistol and breach loaded an extra round into it before letting the slide snap back into place. After she finished setting up I.O. picked her helmet back up and secured it on her head, "We should stay out of Maine's line of sight unless nessesary" she said through her mic as she holstered one Pistol and her SMG. She hated the lockdown paint; once while she was training Iowa had forgot to lock the door to the room and her "good buddy" Wisconsin ran in and nailed her in the face with a few rounds of paint while she was scoped in, she stayed like that until someone finally realized where she was.

D.C. and Hawaii stopped sparring and headed into the locker room. D.C went straight for a locker and started loading his shotguns with training shells while Hawaii grabbed a few pistols placing two on his belt with one in hand, it was quicker to ditch one than reload. as Hawaii got some ammo he said "Flanking them could work, but trying to hit them all at once could go very bad. maybe we should try to split them up as well and take them one at a time" He cocked his pistols and turned to the others "i think i could keep Maine busy if he'll be a problem" he then tipped a thumb over his shoulder at D.C. "and with how fast Capitol is here he might, at the very least, hold his own against the twins tile someone gets a drop on them. might even take down one himself."

"Don't jinx us, Surfer Boy," Min said. He slipped his knife scabbard from his right shoulder and hid it in a secret compartment in his gauntlet. He chuckled. "Now, who keeps their attention, and who flanks?" He wasn't exactly keen on being in either group.

California loaded up a second pistol. Dual wielding seems like the best plan for being a distraction. He twirled them about as he leant against his locker. "I don't mind distracting either. So Capitol, Hawaii and I are on defence. Which leaves Min, I.O and Nevada on flanking, unless there are any more preferences?" California chimed in. He then looked at the rest of Red team. "If we win, we're on our way to the top 20, and kick these glorified bastards off of their podium. Whaddya guys say?" He said, in an attempt to rally the rest.

Nevada loaded her DMR with the lockout rounds. "I'd like to quote the great William Shakespeare, but in all honesty i dont think he said it"

Minnesota nodded. "Wilco," he said. "Dear Lord, prepare us for this ass-whuppin' we are about to receive. And please, tell them not to mess us up too much. I like having all of my limbs functioning."

"Amen to that bro." She said looking out at the viewing platform. "Lets do this"
