| ABILITIES/SKILLS/EQUIPMENT: |Probability Bolt Projection - Amethyst can manipulate probability via "Probability Bolts" (often manifesting physically as pink Hex blasts, as she dubs them) a finite pocket of reality-disrupting quasi-psionic force, which causes disturbance in the molecular-level probability field surrounding the target for various effects including physical damage and curses/mis-fortune. As stated, these blasts can be used as a concussive energy blast or to cause misfortune around the target the power was used. Such misfortune effects can be causing someone to trip and fall, for something to collapse on a target, technology to malfunction, powers to go haywire, etc. Since Amethyst is the daughter of a metahuman and a magic user it is unclear the untapped potential she has. But as of now, her powers seem to be more refined and not nearly as powerful as her mother, Jinx. When using this power, her eyes turn pink.
Instant Transmission - Amethyst has a low level form of teleportation that allows her to disappear from one spot and reappear in another. This ability is only limited to the area/room she is in and cannot teleport more than 15 feet away. This ability is speculated to be something she inherited from her father as it almost resembles super speed. While activating this ability, her eyes turn pink before teleporting, leaving a pink essence where she was.
Gymnastics - Amethyst, like her mother, is extremely agile and uses various somersaults and tumbling to avoid offensive attacks. She has also incorporated her gymnastic skill into close-quarter combat.
| LIMITATIONS AND WEAKNESSES: |Amethyst's probability bolts as mentioned before, are more refined than her mother and aren't as powerful. At the moment she can only do small feats of bad luck and is limited to different cause and effect situations she can create. She can't cause lightning to strike someone down, cause tidal waves or manipulate the earth with the blink of an eye like her mother yet. Unlike other magic users, she isn't versatile in other magics and is only restricted to her hex blasts. Amethyst's instant transmission only allows her to transport up to 15 feet away in short spurts. This is not a mode of transportation for her and is only limited to combat/danger situations or to fuck with people. Other than that she doesn't really use it.
Amethyst takes after her mother in a sense to where she can be emotionally unstable. A lot of times she can act on impulse and doesn't think before she acts, leading her to do regrettable things that could cost her her life or someone else's. She gets into her head a lot and doubts herself plenty of times. Her cynical side can often blind her of logic and will be completely closed off to rationality until she gets what she wants.
| SAMPLE POST: |Amethyst was at home alone as usual. While her mother was out doing shady business like usual, Amethyst was at home doing business of her own: Dealing with teenage life. That was all she really cared about anyway. That is until it was time to follow her mother in her footsteps. Something she wasn't sure she wanted to do at the moment. All she wanted to do was use her powers for personal gain, do makeup, and talk about hot guys. That was the most important thing she felt. Growing up privileged from her mother's "earnings" (which is used loosely as most of the stuff was either stolen or extorted), she never really had to work for anything. It was all given to her. Partially do to the fact Jinx never had any of these things growing up so she wanted her daughter to have the best, which ultimately bit her in the ass since her prodigy came out a spoiled pretentious brat.
As the magenta and pink haired girl stared out of the window into the stormy night, she could hear her mother coming into the penthouse apartment they lived in. Jinx was dressed in a tench coat with her pink hair pulled back into a bun. One could see slight crow's feet growing by her eyes to indicate her age, but ultimately she looked as young as her daughter. People often mistake them for siblings. Barging in, Jinx threw her coat on the counter and went into her daughter's room.
"Is this what you've been doing all day? Sitting in this damn room?" she said coldly. "Sitting in here while I'm out risking my life for us?"
"Oh shut up mother. You choose to put yourself in harm's way. We have it perfectly fine now," Amethyst retorted.
"Oh god. Don't tell me you're getting soft on me like your father. News flash, I'm here with you and he's not. Grow up," Jinx spat. Her tone of voice definitely had not changed over the years. Still shrill, annoying, and condescending than ever.
"Well at least he's not an asshole and he actually helps people. Even though he does keep me in the dark from the public...." Amethyst started to trail off, actually thinking about what her mother was saying. "Anyway. He still sees me sometimes. And he gets me things. Now stop bringing dad into things. We know you still love him."
"How DARE you!" Jinx started to raise her hand as a pink orb emanated from it, her eyes glowing the exact same color. She paused for a moment before her eyes went back to normal and she dropped her arm. "Even though you're a brat and the things you say are off putting, I still love you. Now get some rest. You have to be at that damn school in the morning," Jinx said with defeat in her voice. She didn't feel like fighting with her daughter. After all it as her own fault for raising her that way.
Without another word, Jinx turned around and exited her daughter's room, closing the door behind her.
"Ugh," Amethyst muttered under her breath.
