((This is an rp involving some kind of beast or monster deciding to take a human as a pet. If you wish to do this idea and it's already being run, or wanna do one like it in a more mature fashion, feel free to PM me! :3 NOW LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!))

Out in the woods surrounding the city of Braurn, a young woman walked. In her hand was a small basket, already half filled with berries and nuts of all sorts she had gathered for herself and her parents. She walked gracefully for an 18 year old, her strawberry blonde hair bouncing with each step as she traversed the forest, stopping only to pick the fruits and look at the scenery.

Aria was a fetching girl, that was certain, with all the eligible men of the village vying for her attention at every waking moment. She had a soft face, large blue eyes, and curves that made many a man want to see her naked. Though none had ever dared to attempt such an act. They had their values.

So, after getting out of the house, Aria had decided to make herself useful and go gathering. Unbeknownst to her, there was another in the woods other than the cute squirrels and birds. She didn't know it yet, but she was in for a wild, wild ride.

Now Karth here was a dragon. He had a special love for treasure of all sorts, as all dragons do, and he took pride in all of the treasures he'd come to possess. But like all dragons, he too had to pull himself away from his mountain cave and all its glory to hunt for food. Oh, any living creature would do, of course, but nothing tasted ever so fine as a human. And so it was that found Karth, all asparkle with his glittering scales like stained glass of the deepest blue, stalking the forests below his mountain home in search of a proper meal, for he had not had a good meal in days. Of course, dragons did not need to eat very often, as they spent most of their time sleeping upon the piles of their treasures, hibernating until they needed to eat, or to defend their horde.

It did not take long for the dragon to sniff out the scent of a human, and began to stalk his quarry. The human was a young female; the tastiest kind, in his own very not humble opinion. For it was well known that dragons thought very highly of themselves. They also liked riddles. A dragon could spend years debating riddles with other dragons. Despite a dragon's ego, however, they were by no means stupid. They were clever, deceitful, and had tongues of the purest silver. They could beguile anyone into trusting them, only to snatch them away for a crispy dinner.

But Karth was not very interested in exchanging deceptive words with this human. And so he gave his dinner no warning. Pouncing forward from his hiding place, Karth snatched up the young female in his well-kept talons and flew off with her, back towards his cliffside cavern, really quite pleased with himself for managing to catch her unawares, since dragons were certainly not small creatures, and nor were they easily camouflaged.

Aria certainly hadn't excepted to go on a flight, and she certainly hadn't thought she was in danger until she was about 200 feet in the air. That's when it occurred to her that she was above the trees and in the claws of a gigantic beast. Eyes widening as well as they could with the sheer amount of wind whipping at her, she started screaming, pounding at the talons as if doing so would make him bring her back to the ground and leave her be.

But no, that didn't seem to be the case. Eyes watering from both fear and drying out from the air, she kept struggling as well as she could, though it probably felt like an ant in its clutches. She was going to die, she was going to die at such a young age, and as the meal of a dragon of all things!

Karth was amused by the human's failing attempts to escape his grasp. "Do you know, human, that even if you were to wiggle out from between my claws, you would have nowhere to go, except to fall to your death anyway." He told her diplomatically. However, he wasn't sure that she was paying attention, since she was screaming so loudly. Silly humans; they couldn't even accept their fates with dignity. Ah well.

He flew in lazy circles around the mountain, catching the updrafts in his wings to reach his beautiful cavern where he stored his marvelous treasure-horde. The only way in or out of the cave was a hollow in the rock face where the floor of the cave jutted out to form a ledge. So the only way to reach it was by flying.

Karth alighted upon this ledge and folded up his wings as he set the girl down, confident that a frail creature like herself would have no chance of escape. Then he plodded along deeper into the cavern to check on his treasure. For he was a jealous dragon, and he would be angered furiously if even one piece was missing.

Aria heard him, but she was a bit too preoccupied with trying to not become lunch. Even as he circled around the mountain, she continued to panic, though more internally. She didn't want to die! She had so much to live for! Marriage, having a child, growing old with a man; it wasn't fair!

Suddenly, she was put down, and instantly she ran to the cliff edge, not about to kill herself, but rather to find a way down. But it was pretty clear there was no way down for her. A pit formed in her stomach as she sat down. She was going to die, one way or another. Her eyes welled up, and she let out a sob, covering her face.

Meanwhile, Karth busied himself by counting his treasure, of course, he wouldn't be able to count it all in a reasonable amount of time, so he satisfied himself by looking to make sure that everything looked unnoticeably disturbed at the very least, and he decided to actually count the stuff later, when he had more time on his hands.

The human he had absconded with was sobbing, and the noise was very distracting. He lumbered out of his treasure-horde to peer over at his sobbing dinner.

"You. Human. Answer me this riddle. A poor man has me, and a rich man needs me, but if you eat me, you will die. What am I?" The great dragon asked. It was a simple riddle, but perhaps it would keep the human busy enough to stop that insufferable noise she was making.
