Leo walked over to Scott and Kenny and then took the basketball. He then began bouncing the ball and then started moving. "This is dribbling. Basic rule of basketball? You have to dribble while moving or else you'll get a foul." He said and then faced the ring. Dribbling it twice, he calmly shot the ball into the ring. He looked back at Scott. "And that's how you score points. Other rules... just don't push each other."

He then looked at Ms. Smith. "Far as I know we can't use powers right?" He asked the housekeeper. He looked down at the illusion made by Tim. If it's just that, he guessed it's fine.

"You should use your powers as little as possible. The idea is to learn how to blend in so that you can be part of the world." the housekeeper reminded them. "TI'm it's rude to usee your powers on others outide of power development without asking."

@KatherinWinter Scott grabbed the ball and dribbled slowly, letting out a haze of smoke surrounding him so no one could get close. "So I can't do this?" He called out, disappointed. "Dang." He let the smoke dissipate and shot for the basket, missing by a mile.

Leo watched as the ball didn't get in the basket. "Don't worry, you'll get it after a while." He said before jogging towards the ball and then looking at the housekeeper. "Should we practice shooting some hoops first before going in-game?"

Pheonix was excited to play as she got ready to play basketball. Phoenix looked around at her team as we all got ready and onto our proper sides of the court. As Phoenix waited for her team to get ready she was bouncing up and down like a little girl getting a new toy.

Jack just shrugged and found one of the ends of the court and stood there in case someone on the other team were to come over there and try to score, in which case he'd stop them to the best of his abilities, assuming he could. He knew very, very little about this game but was going to try anyway. Ok, how hard can it be? Just stop them right...?

Ivan watched the other kids play basketball from a window on the second floor. The eight year old sighed heavily, closing the curtains and looking away. Nobody ever wanted to play with him. He could barely understand them, and most of the kids just mocked his Russian accent either way. Besides, he'd never played basketball. It wasn't as much of a big deal in Russia, so he never learned. He coughed quietly, walking downstairs.

On his way down the stairs, Ivan ran into the custodian. "Aren't you supposed to be in the gym?" Said the man, in a gruff New York accent. He reached out and grabbed little Ivan by the shoulders, leading him down the stairs towards the gym. "Let's go, little man."
Ivan balked, barely processing what was going on at all. "I-I....I vasn't... I only...." He stuttered, fumbling over his words and forgetting his English in his panic. Before he knew it, he was in the gym with the other kids. A hushed giggle ran through the room as some of the other kids started to laugh at him, and he blushed deeply, looking down at the floor.

"Red your on the right. Orange you will be on the left. There are jerseys under the hoops. You must dribble the ball when you move. Noelbowing or shoving. Stealing is allowed. You can shot from any where inbounds." the housekeeper reminded them.

Ivan looked around the court. He was already on the left side of the court, so he took a blue jersey. The kid next to him made a face at him and walked across the court to join the other team. Ivan had a feeling that red was going to be a very popular team. He cringed, looking up at the coach. "You say no shoving?" He repeated hopefully, not sure if that was what had been said or not. He heard no elbowing and shoving had come in somewhere in the equation, but his English wasn't good enough to tell him what that meant.

Leo nodded as he went over to the left side. He picked up a jersey and just put it on top of his own shirt. He then stood there, waiting for his teammates to come. He wasn't in the mood for exercise, but hey, he can at least help them play the sport. Hopefully they had good aim. But either way, it was not really a serious game so it's fine if they weren't all that good.

Phoenix got ready to play placing her jersey on and getting into formation on the court. As Phoenix looked around at her team which consisted of Tim, Leo, Jack, Yumiko, she was excited. Phoenix believed they had a strong team and she was ready to kick some butt. She looked over at Leo and Jack as they were the only other members of the team ready to play "Hy Leo, hey Jack are you guys ready to play? and ready to kick some butt?"

Kenny looked with mild distant at the jersey, the fabric always seemed to rub hum the wrong way. Still he understood the need to differentiate the teams, so begrudgingly he pulled it over his head. Still, the prospect of running around beat sitting in front of a screen answering questions any day of the week. Taking up his position he bounced his weight from one foot to the other getting the blood flowing and pumping himself up.

Scott wasn't feeling up to playing so he walked over to the housekeeper. "May I be the commentator?" Without waiting for an answer he stood outside the boundaries of the court and grinned. "Welcome, Ladies and Gents, to the first annual basketball game, with the freaks on one side and the freaks on the other. I am Scott, your freak commentator and scourge of anyone with a short temper!" He winked at both teams to show he was joking about the freaks comment. He thought they were awesome, and should be showing the world their powers, but that was just him.

@DriveEMOut Jack glared at the 'commentator' and gave his own comment. Hey, no offense pal but you probably shouldn't use the word "Freak" so loosely around here, even if you are just joking, I'm not mad but some people here have probably been called that more times than you or me can count. He politely warned Scott, some people have driven from their homes by words like that, he didn't want anything bad to happen, he just wanted things to stay calm.

Phoenix glared the commentator as he used the freak, she had been called that at one point or another when come her classmates had seen her heal another classmate at school after she was badly hurt on the playground, her three friends were the only ones that stuck by her when the teasing and the name calling started upon finding out about her powers. She missed her friends a lot. Phoenix shook her head to clear them of those thoughts and started to focus on the game hoping that once the other player were ready that the game would start.
