In World War II heroes and superhumans hit the scene in America. Captain America and the Invaders fought the Red Skull and Hitler and helped turn the tide of the war in favor of the Allies. As luck would have it, Captain America managed to beat old age after getting frozen in an adventure in the 40's after the war had ended. Steve Rogers would wake up some time after the year 2000 and begin operating as an agent of the United States as he did during his time in the Invaders, and he eventually joined the more modern heroes as an Avenger. In VI[or VII] Forgotten Heroes we'll loosely take the idea from the comics where the original five X-Men were brought to the modern day, the title itself based on a story in the later episodes of the Spider-man animated series in the 90's where six forgotten heroes were reintroduced as older heroes who would rescue Capt. America from a time stasis rather than a block of ice.

The idea is simple, take ANY character from the Marvel library with origins during WWII and bring them at the height of their careers from the days after World War II into the present day similar to what happened to Captain America. Haven't exactly got the specifics of how we get to the present day, but we'll come to terms with our place in this much more advanced era just in time to help the now elder Capt. America take down a mutual enemy with ties to our past. Of the five or six accepted players I'll likely accept at least one original WWII era hero, but the CS will have to be superb and it will have to fit with the theme.

Here's some links to info on a lot of characters, you may find others so long as they're Marvel.

List of Invaders -- comicvine.gamespot.com/invaders/4060-2..

The Twelve -- comicvine.gamespot.com/the-twelve/4060..

The Liberty Legion -- comicvine.gamespot.com/liberty-legion/..

... that's most of the groups that I can think of for the time being. There's probably a few more diamonds in the rough if you keep digging like the Thunderer. As far as CS requirements for now it'll be standard stuff with a Sample Post at the end. You'll probably notice I used this space to drop a Marvel Movieverse idea, I guess that ship's probably sailed a few times on here and got no interest but oh well. CS base for anyone interested in this new setting with a little more freedom in terms of what you can work with:

Secret ID:
Alias:
Age: [How old were you in the 1940's]
Powers:
Weaknesses:
Personality: [how you were acting while fighting against Nazi superhumans! LOL]
Appearance: [you can pick an actors face, use reference from old comics, modern designs for your hero post time skip, etc if you wish. Or just write a description...]
BRIEF Bio: [I'd probably expect a brief origin leading into your hero fighting Nazi superhumans...]
Notes: [anything else you need to mention?]
Sample Post: [Three paragraph Advanced level post. The setting is a secluded HYDRA base in the woods somewhere in Europe. Finish the post with 'a bright flash of light...' that will lead into the beginning of the RP.]

So, take two on the Advanced Marvel idea. Who wants to pull a Captain America on a few classic heroes?

Accepted heroes/sheets:

Me - the Destroyer
Sep - the Whizzer
FantasyChic - Union Jackie
rocketrobie2 - Blue Bullet [pre approved via PM]

[another open spot to make VII?]

UPDATED.

Dropped the Marvel Movieverse idea and went with a WWII theme I'd been tinkering with. Hope this gets more interest :P

Do we have to pick someone considered a superhero, or just someone with ties in the WWII era. I mean, could we pick normal people who fought with heroes during this time or do we have to have a superpowered being.

If super powered, I'd like to choose Spitfire as my inspiration, if the other option is ok, I am leaning towards Agent Carter.

@FantasyChic Either would be fine really. We'll be working with the older model Capt. America that was running around recently in the comics as well as SHIELD.

I was thinking of a few different heroes depending on what the cast comes to. I love the Blazing Skull and the android Human Torch, but I've also got ideas for Thin Man and the Destroyer. Of the Twelve I really dig Laughing Mask, and I like the concept of Red Raven from the Liberty Legion.

@The Kid Lantern

Fair enough, I was looking through the different heroes with origins during that time (not many female ones, which given the time period, that's not surprising) so I think I'll take the two I brought up and decide on who I like the best. I am leaning towards Agent Carter because I like the TV show and I want to play a hero that isn't superpowered.

Spitfire was one of the cooler ones I thought, and the classic Ms. America. Namora I think has longevity like Namor and was around back then. Sun Girl was another one with fire based powers, Silver Scorpion sounded cool...

Here's a list I found of Marvel characters created back then as well as characters created later on that were retconned into existing during WWII.

Since there's not a fair shake when it comes to the number of female heroes as opposed to the males, you could always do an identity swap and make a female version of a male character.

I think I'm definitely going with the Destroyer. Basically like the Punisher with super strength and a creepy mask. If I do any narrating with old man Steve I'll likely call him exactly that LOL

Came up with a story for why we're brought to the future. Very Legends of Tomorrow-ish. However the story will only take place in the 40's and the present day. Old Man Captain America is still gonna mentor the team in the present day and [read in the hider] will be mostly powerless having been drained in the accident that killed [read in the hider] and later in the battle with [time displaced GALACTUS]. Red Skull in possession of the Time Gem is still our main problem. So, here's that introductory chapter with url links rather than a ton of pics. The pics actually go with the story though and give you more of an idea of what everything looks like visually in the past, present, and future.

Let me know what you guys think. I know @DrewVonAwesome would have something to say about the time traveler LOL

Because the Whizzer was created back when things didn't move very fast can I boost his speed up a lil' bit.

His max speed is only 100mph, which is a lot for a person and is a lot back then, preferably I'd like to be able to go over the speed of sound but I'll leave that up to you @The Kid Lantern.
