Hiya, AChronum here! Although I'm relatively new to rping, I have plenty of writing experience and love trying new genres and styles. I absolutely love high magic fantasy RPs and am pretty much willing to do anything so long as I can create a charaxter, not play an existing one, and develop lots and lots of backstory! I'm perfectly comfortable with all mature themes as well, although smut for smut's sake is out of the question.
Interested in an RP? Send me a PM and have a magically marvelous day!
Skylar eyed the woman with suspicion and let the magical energy he stored fade away but left his sword unsheathed. He found it odd a lone woman just happened to meander down the trail as they found trouble. Maybe he should... the boy's coughing snapped him from his train of thought. He frowned and strode to the edge of his bubble.
"Come back inside young one. No need to kill yourself out in the cold when we have shelter." He reached out to pull the boy back in gently before addressing the woman. "A little trouble on this road in a storm is enough to put everyone on guard. Come inside, no need to soak yourself any further."
Age: 16 Character Gender: Cis-male Nationality: American, originally from Seattle, Washington. Appearance:
Alexander stands only 152 cm tall and weighs 58kg. Proud of his emerald eyes, Alexander matches his entire wardrobe around them. He loves wearing dress clothes in purple and red and black deunless his favorite fashion magazine says another color is in style. He even dyes his naturally blond hair black to highlight his eyes.
In his transformed state, Alexander dons a purple suit and black cape. Stepping into his familiar magician role, he can be found in the air on a card or vanishing between rooftops with a confident smirk.
Alexander is the mischievous spirit. He loves pulling harmless pranks, mostly jump scares, making things disappear, and seeming to appear out of thin air. Though he’ll never get tired of the old water bucket trick. Classic.
Outside of pranking, Alexander runs rather than walks. Jittering after five seconds of sitting, his attention span only exists for things he’s currently interested in. He picks up fads and tires of them before most even discover them. He’s constantly on the lookout for new fashions and loves trying new crazy foods.
Having overcome suicidal self-doubt, Alexander cheers up those around him. He tries to believe the best in people, even if it has gotten him in some unfortunate situations, and always tries to lend a hand. His inclination to treat everyone equally nice leaves some with a sense of distance but he really does just want everyone to have fun.
Under the effects of transformation, he changes. The Prince of Tricks aggressively seeks out ways to irritate sun princes, absolutely loathing their obsession with hunting. He gains an appreciation for and the ability to ballroom dance, especially the waltz, and window shops for well-tailored suits when possible. He calculates and schemes, willing to provoke sun princes into battle if it means keeping his comrades safe. He always tries to keep an ace up his sleeve, even if it’s a sun prince, to handle any nasty surprises that wander his way.
Moon Prince
Glowing rose pink and razor sharp, these cards fly in a straight line when thrown and detonate with a snap of his fingers. On command, they anchor in space until broken or returned and expand into a 5’ by 3’ barrier though he often uses them as platforms. In this form, the cards lose their sharp edges. Once the deck is depleted, it replenishes itself in his suit pocket.
-Pulling out the Rabbit: Alexander reaches into his hat and pulls either a prince he can see or is bonded to out of his hat while leaving a pink card that briefly sings “Happy Birthday!” before detonating. The father away the target, the more magic it uses.
-Telepathy: Unable to speak, the Prince of Tricks projects his voice directly into the mind of others he sees. Using a little magic, he can tether up to four other princes to his mind and act as a telepathic hub. This bond functions as long as Alexander remains on the same plane, physically or mentally, and is conscious. If either of these conditions are violated, there is a sharp mental feedback before the connection drops. If another prince in the link violates one of these conditions, the connection vanishes.
-Vanishing Act: Alexander tosses his hat up and vanishes into as a shapeless black smoke before the hats explodes into pink confetti. He reappears anywhere within eye sight, is familiar with, or near a prince he is bonded to. The further the destination, the more magic this ability consumes
-52 Card Pick Up: Alexander let’s all his cards fly. This ability comes in two forms:
House of Cards: Alexander consumes all his magic as he whirls a full deck around his opponents in a 15ft radius and imprisons them as every card expands. The sealed prison lasts for one minute. The cards constantly regenerate if damaged but if broken, the house detonates. Alexander can do this manually thought he magic drain immediately ends his transformation.
Final Curtain: Alexander scatters his cards to every prince within the same distortion field as himself and traps them in the cards. Every prince in the cards is held in the same extra-dimensional space with their powers suppressed. With a snap, he calls them into his hat before vanishing himself. During this, Alexander experiences every emotion the other princes feel currently, overloading his senses. The hat deposits them at a safe location a mile away before depositing Alexander home who promptly falls unconscious as he sorts out and removes the emotional input of those he trapped.
Alexander watches from the shadows and skies, altering the tide of battle in the Princes’ favor as he moves and guards his allies in the thick of battle while streamlining communication with his team. Between understanding his lackluster combat ability and an aggressive dislike for sun princes, Alexander’s main focus is keeping his team alive so doesn’t hesitate to find an unorthodox solution to any problem. If it involves goading a sun prince, he always tries to block their finishing moves to give the credit to the Moon faction. He actively avoids the main fray like a plague. The less movement required the better. It is easier to keep an eye on the fight when you aren’t being hounded after all!
It was a car crash that did it. At the age of two, his mother and her boyfriend decided to take a family trip- at two in the morning after twelve shots of vodka each- and loaded her three year old son into the car before taking off at breakneck speed. Five minutes and a house later, the man died instantly, his mother lost her right arm, and seven shards of glass and metal embedded into the child's face and neck. Although the boy lived, the multiple surgeries couldn't save his voice. Heavy scarring covered his neck but as he grew older, they faded.
Afterwards, his mother struggled. Although she avoided jail and managed to keep him despite child endangerment charges, she lost her job and had to find a way to finish school. Alexander matured quickly and learned how to cook and clean at a young age. In order to keep him in a special school, pay bills, and keep herself in school, his mother worked two jobs and sometimes picked up the odd one under the table here and there.
She never kept the truth from him. She apologized frequently and tried to pamper him even with the stressful life she lived. Alexander never resented her. He didn’t die and she was doing her best to make it up to him. After his suicide attempt in fifth grade and seeing the pain it caused her, he bucked up and confronted his depression head on. Although it still rears its head periodically, Alexander mostly stays truly happy.
He discovered card tricks rather in middle school. They were easy and fun and it made people pay attention to him. He mastered easy ones like the elevator card and the fold quickly and moved on to magic tricks past cards. Optical illusions and sleight of hand found his attention next and he discovered the only hobby to hold his interest longer than a week. He picked up every book, read every article, and listened to every podcast on stage magic and two years later he would perform magic tricks at every school talent show or stage competition. It was how he met his first boyfriend. They planned and played every show together for the six months they were a pair.
Just as he entered high school at age 14, his Mom graduated and landed a job as a Japanese translator in Japan, forcing them to relocate without so much of a good bye to many of his friends. He had sulked for a solid six months before finding a new arena for his shows and realizing there was an entire fashion culture he didn't know about. He perked up, forced himself to learn JSL, and decided to enjoy life. His mother suffered enough guilt as it was. He still wrote to his old friends sometime but in became less and less frequent as time moved on.
Now at age 16, he enjoys strolling through the inner city gardens, practicing magic tricks, drinking copious amounts of coffee, and being a Cosmic Prince apparently. The only downside was losing his telepathy after transforming back but that was survivable. The magic was fun, the telepathy amazing, and even hunting shadows with others was nice. What more could a boy ask for?
"Shouldn't have used magic idiot." Skylar muttered angrily at himself as he snatched his raiper from the clutter of the caravan. He kept it pointed at the approaching light and had a half prepared spell in his mind.
"Perhaps it would be best if they boy readied an arrow.I'm sure your contraptions work wonders but another stinger in the air if it attacks wouldn't be the worst, especially around here." He said softly. "This barrier won't stop a creature from passing through after all. Probably won't hold if the rain gets any harder."
@Leslie Hall I'm really excited to play in this so if it's not up to par let me know how to tweak him!

He wears his heart on his sleeve and tries to cheer everyone up around him. Despite his forced silence, Alexander is loud and bold.
Faction: Moon Prince
Magical Weapon: Deck of Cards. Although he loves to fidget with them, they are actually razor sharp. They always fly in a straight line when thrown and detonate on contact. They can be commanded to grow five feet tall and three feet wide, providing either cover or a platform. Both forms are perminately fixed in space until returned to the deck or broken. Replenishing the deck takes little effort but uses some magic.
Magical Powers:
-Pulling out the Rabbit: Alexander pulls an ally he can see or is linked with to him through his hat while leaving a calling card in its place. It sings happy birthday before detonating.

-52 Card Pick Up: Alexander let's all his cards fly. They whirl rapidly, creating a ten foot sphere around a target. Accidently brushing against one causes them all to detonate simultaneously. With a little extra magic, Alexander can detonate them early if need ne.
Strengths: Alexander stays out of the immediate action and mostly observes, providing support for his allies. While streamlining communications, pinning down possible enemies, and creating new pathways, Alexander tries to pick out the best way to prank his teammates.
Weaknesses: Mobility and stress management. Alexander likes to stick to one place and assist. When he gets overwhelmed, he tends to panic and forget to maintain communications before disappearing if possible.
Biography: It was a car crash that did it. "Whatever we decide, let's move quickly. I'd rather not attract unwanted attention with this." He gestured at the bubble. "Thanks for the patch up there. Blood is just such a good reagent as gross as it is." He grimaced at the mention of hunting. Watching people kill things never sat well with him.
Skylar winced as he drew a thin line across his palm and wiped the few droplets that smeared the knife on his coat. Blood pooled in his hand and he started whispering into it quietly. His blood swirled together into a small sphere before turning to a shimmering blue. He snapped one last word and it exploded outwards. A translucent blue dome covered the caravan and a few feet around it. The rain washed down the sides of the dome and flowed away. A blue sigil floated an inch above his palm and he stared at it intently.
"Okay that's that. How people live without magic, I'll never know. A week without it and I wanted to die." He passed the blade back to Jameson. "Won't keep out the cold but it'll keep the rain off us while we figure out what to do."
"Well what I do with the knife won't make this day anymore miserable and might help you get that horse out." Skylar replied, standing next to Jameson. He glanced down at the horse and retched sightly. Those legs didn't look particularly pleasant. He knew a few healing spells but not for animals and defiantly not for broken legs to that... degree.
