Within power limits. No one who could destroy a planet by breathing too hard. No Saitama no Doctor Strange no Superman. (Injustice Superman's fine. Comics Superman isn't).
interested.

Awesome. :D
So strictly notable characters like 'spiderman' or reincarnatioms of our old OC's from previous games?

The former and not the latter. Spiderman yes. Fuzzy the Dinosaur no.
This version of Reincarnation Wars has a more definite story line and setting in place than past Reincarnation Wars for simplicity's sake. The Darkness, God, Amara, Yog Sothoth, Shup Nikkurath, Azathoth, and Sargeras are all united in their opinion. Earth Dimension must be wiped out of all life and replaced with the superior life forms; Homo Supreme. Homo Supreme are ni unto gods, with the potential to elevate their superiors AND gain in power all at the same time by providing worship.
Humans are in danger. In fact, all life forms other than Homo Supreme are in danger of annihilation.

We are the Earth's only hope. The MULTIVERS'ES only hope. The Awakened. We possess the souls of famous heroes, villains, or otherwise notable people from the multiverse, and thus, their powers. By combining our past lives, we can rise up and defeat our enemy. These people are like "Spiderman", and not "Fuzzy the Dinosaur from one of my role plays".

The Stranger God existed thousands of years ago in the Thulian era, before the Hyborian era, as a son of the Great Old Ones. He isn't a sorcerer mortal who pulls power from the Entities. He IS an entity. Sadly for him, he was imprisoned by the wizard Skellos and later defeated by Thoth Amon, Thulsa Doom and many Sorcerers who came together to stop his conquest of Hyborian Earth. His sealing also weakened his powers enormously. Finally in the year 2000 he possessed an occult researcher who discovered the incantations that could free him by being cast in reverse.

By the time he possessed Sam R Michaelsen, Surath was extremely weakened. More powerful than most Mutants on Earth, but less powerful than the great threats against Mankind. He is currently only as powerful as a great sorcerer, instead of Mutants like Apocalypse, or the Elder Gods he once shared ranks with.

Primary: (Egocentric, Ecocentric, or Necromancy) Egocentric

Primary Spells: (3 spell limit)
Eldritch Blast
Chaos Shield
Chaos Manipulation : (Manipulates raw magical energy for a random offensive, defensive or supportive spell. He can determine whether the spell is offensive, defensive or supportive, but not whether the spell works entirely like he wants. The Chaos shield protects him from Chaos magic, but chaos manipulation can still back fire in an infinite variety of ways.)

Secondary: (Whatever you did not select as your primary)
Secondary Spells: (2 spell limit)
Healing Wounds
Teleportation (Like Nightcrawler)

Equipment: (Include any talismans or artifacts - explain what these items do)
The God's Soul Ring: The God's Soul Ring possesses a small portion of Surath's Soul. Possession of this Ring allows him to temporarily tap into a portion of his power he used to possess, therefore for just a moment, Surath can manipulate energy on a scale ten times as powerful as he normally can.

Extra Info:

Surath is an Elder God, only as weak as mortal sorcerers because of his ancient sleep and imprisonment by the world's greatest magic users. He isn't greater than the others, and he isn't necessarily smarter either, but he possesses knowledge far older than any mortal could hold. His goal is to become an Elder God again.
Doctor Doom!! :D
SCP has been sent to investigate Silent Hill, Maine. There is a strange cult remaining in the town, worshiping dark gods. There have been said to be children sacrificed to their gods from surrounding towns. Parents have arranged a vigilante take down of the hiding cult members, and to make matters worse, a mass of the criminally insane have also infested the area. Law enforcement, the SCP, The Order, the Inmates, and the Vigilantes are all vying for their own goals. The SCP's goals are to study the supernatural threat of Silent Hill, and later Mount Massive Asylum's inmates.

An entire isolated small town has been shut off by the Murkoff Corporation from the outside world. The town of Hillsbury, Maine is home to mercenaries and the citizen's children are held hostage from the town's families. Therefore Seven factions are all vying for their own goals. You may be from The Order and attempting to placate the gods. You could be a lunatic from the asylum attempting to do the Walrider's will; or anything that makes sense.

You are various ordinary people throughout the world, finding yourselves in a small island compound in an unknown location. You remember everything, except how you got here or why you're here. All of you awaken in the Compound with each other and no way to know what's going on. You have supplies of food medicine and clothing, running water and electric power to take care of you all for a long time.

The truth is you are gods. You are the world's new gods. The world seems to be vacant of life, all that you loved and hated or known is gone. Your new goals are your own, you must simply find out what is going on, and why.

Different premises. LOTR has elves, dwarves, ents, Balrogs, hobbits, mordor, wizards, gods and various other bits - GOT, by comparison, has rare (and at this point just a few) dragons, humans as the dominantly most common species (wildlings and humans, the main divergence - wildlings still being humans), and a force of undead that aren't as of yet that well explained.

You can do as you will, and I'd be a bad person to dissuade divergence in some part from canons, but the main thing here is that I just don't see high-fantasy godly characters fitting in this universe a fraction as effectively as LOTR, a universe built around high fantasy (built high fantasy in the first place?).

Lord of the Rings is low magic, even if High Fantasy. Gandalf the White, or Galadriel could probably defeat Aldarin anyway.
That's the thing, though. GoT has part of its appeal in not being flashy with magic - in many cases it is reasonable for characters to believe magic's just a set of tricks that aren't real.

I'd be interested in something GoT related, but that level of power to an individual doesn't catch with the setting.

You know how Sauron is the most powerful sorcerer and enemy of his setting? Well, this is Aldarin. Aldarin is the Dark Lord of this setting.
