While I love the Cthulhu stuff and have always wanted to be in a mythos RP here, I'm not so big of a fan of asking for predetermined roles. That said, I'm all for being a detective type, or perhaps a criminal justice student who has been following these strange happenings for a while thinking he/she is near a big revelation

Kay, I have edited the OP.

This is just an idea I wanted to see if other people would be interested in. I would prefer people to play Canon characters from the series that everyone knows, operating on a first come-first serve basis.

The plot would be based around the villain's day-to-day adventures, not necessarily committing crimes. What if two of Gotham's most wanted happened to meet each other in a seedy nightclub, or happened to find themselves taking the same Taxi some place?

Ideas and criticism are welcomed. I would love the chance to try something like this out!

Can I be Dracula?
Ra, Odin, Zeus. . . many of these are ancient names. These are names of gods who's worship began either in the Bronze Age or perhaps earlier en masse by millions of people around the world. These names have been mentioned far more recently, and far more frequently in these now Enlightened Times than has ever been mentioned since their passing. The year is 2,700, Anno Dominae, or as it has been dated more recently, After Common Era.

Man has managed to very narrowly avoid a World War III. Ever since 2065, Earth has been ruled by a Triumvirate, A Quadrate, or Pentate made up various Continents. The order of the world has been maintained, seemingly miraculously despite all reasonable indications that it would erupt in a horror for Mankind for the past six hundred years. Mankind, under this Confederation of now, Five Governments, has covered the entire Solar System with the seed of Man, traveling beyond the star system, and made it'self an Interstellar power.

Strangely, the gods of Mankind have awoken on a planet somewhat outside the Frontiers of Man. Close enough for the greatest ships of Man to discover, yet far enough that the great Tomb of divine memorial has not yet been seen by the naked eyes of the greater populace. This is a massive world, a Tomb World. We have slumbered for untold centuries in our crypt, baring no memory of how we arrived in this forsaken tomb, far from our homes, yet now, our eyes are opened!

Suggestions for gods:
Try to avoid obvious controversies. No Allah, No Jesus, No Yahweh as deities. You might even want to steer clear of Hindu deities to.

Other Plot Points:
Guess what happens when the gods wake up? Not only does Mankind discover the gods of their ancestors were real, they find themselves face to face with the first Extra-Terrestrial Life Forms as well that they've ever met. None of the gods know of these aliens.

Sweden was already on my list of weird countries, but for a different reason.

PewdiePie?
Each of you have been suffering for two horrifying weeks of nightmares. It is May 1st, 2014. The place is Providence, Rhode Island. You keep babbling strange things, sometimes in an unknown language in your sleep, you wake up, screaming or being disoriented for an hour after waking up, sometimes you even stare off into space for an hour or longer. Last night, fifteen days after your first night of horrifying dreams, you wake up in pain, covered in scars colored in blood red. On your chest, back of the neck, or other body parts, is the message, "Iya Iya Cthulhu F'Taghn!".

For the past five years, murders have been occurring all around Providence and Rhode Island. One murder a month, all linked ever since 2008. Each ritualistic sacrifice has the words "Iya Iya Cthulhu F'Taghn" written on their bodies. Each death might have a different cause of the victim's demise, but each murder is all linked together. You are all called to the Police Station, and taken directly for questioning.

Roles:
Some Roles I'm looking for: (Though by no means are you restricted to playing one of the roles below).

An Ex-Military character
A Cop
A Detective (Maybe might be best if the Cop and Detective both know eachother).
A Southwestern Cowboy/"Hick".
A Spiritually sensitive person
A Medical Doctor
And/Or A Scientist (Chemist/Computer expert)
And/Or An Archaeologist
Special Talents:
Each character is given above average attributes, maybe their strength, athleticism and stamina or maybe intelligence, in addition to a paranormal talent. Or maybe even Magical talent. (Must possess tomes of knowledge and/or magical objects to be a magician). One could even become a Werewolf, Vampire or even an Eldritch freak. You will be sent to investigate a "Haunted" mansion and after clearing it/discovering important clues, will have this area as your main headquarters for the rest of the role play. No one begins play as a Werewolf, Vampire or Magician, but all may upgrade their characters specifically to their liking through role playing experiences.
I don't know if I can do this and give the GM license to just off my character. -_-
From the MOBA, Smite, comes an idea for me where the player character chooses a Deity from mythology to lead a nation. The catch? Well, there's a Pantheon of 5 gods they share with the other four members.

There will be two or, if I feel up to the challenge, even 3 Pantheons, so we'd play with a total of 15 members in this role play. This is not a role play that people make up from scratch. Characters from any real world Pantheon are allowed, in addition to the Cthulhu Mythos.

As, having been around the guild for a while, I anticipate only a minority of those who express interest to actually stay around to play, I'm always looking for more people at this early of a stage. Your interest is greatly appreciated!

I'm staying.
