Jarek is the only male sorcerer born in his clan. In his clan, the Kramers, only one male Sorcerer is born every one thousand years. At least a handful of these elusive, immortal sorcerers are still alive from thousands of years ago. Jarek is obsessed with honing his natural born, uniquely innate magical powers as much as he can. Typically his clan are female sorcerers, sorceresses, in other words, and their husbands, lovers, sons, and fathers. The clan borders on matriarchal rule, but while females typically "rule the roost", any thing that encourages prejudices against men, or suggest men only be subservient are merely guidelines and not rules.
As the lucky male born to be a sorcerer in his clan, and thus the leader of his entire clan, he has the pick of any and ALL women he chooses throughout his romantic interests and sexual conquests with no limit on his decisions. However, Jarek is torn between different interests. He IS obsessed with earning greater power so he can finally discover the secret of immortality that his male ancestors possessed. He is also obsessed with his sex drive, and. he. has. no. self. control. However, even his sex drive is less potent than his deep seeded longing for vengeance against the man, or woman who framed him for the murder and dark magic of many innocent people, and thus removed him from his throne.
To further complicate the matter, his obsession with earning magical powers make it difficult for him to produce children. He was married to his first wife at age sixteen and he loved her, his beloved Katrina. Katrina gave birth to five children. Their children, Emilia, Aya, Irena, and Grigori were all extremely blessed children. Emilia, and her sisters were all gifted sorceresses. Grigori is something of a great mystery to the entire clan, and he's practically a very hush hush secret to the outside world, except for a handful of important individuals who are tasked with secret duties dealing with espionage, the black market, criminal investigations and the like. You see, Grigori is an extremely gifted sorcerer, and the first male sorcerer born in the Kramer line. Nothing so dramatic has happened in the entire history of their territory.
On Jarek's twenty second birthday, his three daughters were found dead of unknown causes, and his wife died giving birth to a baby, who was born dead. He has had trouble forming emotional bonds over friendship and respect to the opposite sex because of this, and is more of a party animal with the women than a quality family man. Technically speaking the Kramer family and the other clans derive originally from Delta, which sort of explains their liase' fair attitude about life. Soon, after the deaths of his wife and children, he attempted to medicate his emotional state with growing the relationship with his son, Grigori. Grigori and Jarek had grown close, but Jarek's attitude about women had begun to grate on Grigori's nerves, specifically by the time he remarried another woman just for her appearance.
Recently, Jarek has been framed for experimenting on his second wife, Rose, and the children she had produced before her marriage with him. He had also been accused of experimenting on animals and other people, most prominently women. He has managed to receive legal help from the Omega district to over ride his Clan's laws against him for the crimes he didn't commit, and has had his sentence of death and forced abdication to exile outside the traveling Kramer Clan's government and territory.
The entire experience of being framed as a serial killer and illegal experimenter on other people and animals, has taken a toll on Jarek's mind. He misses his son Grigori, who he is forbidden from seeing by the laws of the clan. Grigori should take over as the new leader by the time he is sixteen, but that is four years from now. Jarek's mind is obsessed equally with revenge on whoever he finds did this to him, as it is in gaining power.
