He knows he disappeared, and nobody stopped me with the camera thing from earlier.
<Snipped quote by VitaVitaAR> I got something planned; don't worry.
I suppose I will have good ole' mega chase you around then.
Hopefully my first post was okay, if anybody has anything to say go right ahead.
Five men sat in a small, white, room illuminated by white ceiling lights and multiple monitors situated at various terminals. However one man stood in a black business suit. The large monitors showed various angles and data readouts on a particular figure, only one monitor was absolutely dedicated to numbers. The data monitor showed various statistics, power levels, and other data the scientists would record and study for later. The man in the black suit began to speak up. "Are you sure the speed function actually works this time?" A scientist with a slight beard responded. "Yes, I tested it in my lab personally." "Then let's see how it preforms in 'battle'." The suited man said while making air quotes. Speaking into a connected microphone the scientist this time addressed their subject. "Overdrive, you may begin when you receive the signal. As you may have noticed we've set up multiple cardboard targets so we don't have a repeat of last time, your goal is remove all the civilians from the area and 'apprehend' the terrorist. Keep in mind if you pass we'll finally be able to unveil you." "I understand Dr. Smith." The robot answered back, some of the screens back in the monitor room began to transcribe the previous conversation. Overdrive himself was in an significantly larger area, an 'abandoned' warehouse built specifically for his testing. The warehouse itself looked brand new, but inside were a multitude of empty cargo containers, cardboard figures spread around the area, and 'innocents'. In a few moments after the Doctor's last transition red letters showed up in Overdrive's view, the letters read 'Ready' then proceeded into a count down from five. As the timer dinged '0' a small puff of steam pushed itself out of his back, and in a moment that's all there was left of Overdrive as he took off. Overdrive left blurred streams of red and blue in his after wake. His first goal would be to gather all 'people' and put them in the safe box, a taped off corner of the warehouse, and then 'subdue' or break the cardboard men; while anyone could do this, Overdrive was being timed. His metal pattered rapidly against the cement flooring, leaving slight footprints after every other step, the safe box quickly filled up in a matter of seconds. Returning to the false terrorists Overdrive promptly dug his fists into each one, causing the wooden fakes to explode into a million splinters. With his mission done Overdrive simply stood motionless in front of the warehouse doors. "Was this demonstration satisfactory Doctor?" Overdrive asked, his voice seemed to carry some eagerness. Back in the monitor lab multiple scientists were typing away at their keyboards or writing down numbers, equations, and various other notes. "Yes, thank you Overdrive. Wait for the company vehicle to pick you up, we don't want to unveil you quite yet." Dr. Smith responded via microphone. This time directing his head to the man in the suit the doctor spoke up again. "He clocked in at 338 m/s, just under the speed of sound. With some adjustments I think I can improve that slightly, but he's already far faster than we anticipated." Turning his chair around he continued. "So, what do you think Mr. Hannon?" "I think I want it faster. They say there's always a bigger fish, I want him to be that fish." Hannon said as he left for the door. "I barely managed to push him this far. I can make some slight adjustments to his magnetic actuators but to actually reach or break the sound barrier is impossible!" "So make it possible, or I'll find someone who can." Hannon replied almost with a growl, after his response he promptly slid the sterile white door open and calmly walked out, the doctor simply fell back into his chair and let out a heavy sigh of frustration.
Well, I'll say it. I'm not sure what happened. Did Guts somehow kill the dudes while inside the dimension and because of that was he was sent to another place?
I notice a bunch of people don't have their power rankings yet, so let me give you some help there. Take these with a grain of salt, though, because these are just my opinion. @Gentlemanvaultboy, I'd give owl man around C. @Pie Flavor, I'd say B at least, just because spatial manipulation. Spatial manipulation is pretty good. @Subject Zero, I'd give Legion around C as well. Also, Pole dancing? @Marx, I'd say Harper would be generally High B-A based on the amount of powers he has. Bo also sounds kinda like they'd be S rank or something based on potential, but I don't know. @Alternax, I'd say B because he gets near the speed of sound, can lift large cars easily and his plasma cannon is probably pretty strong, but he's probably not strong enough to blow up an entire city block Hope it helped.
I'm okay with that, though he can't do it instantly i'm confident he could. As for the speed, I kept it below the sound barrier because anything higher should be for speed dedicated characters. Also, how do we set up interactions with each other, do I just ask?
Name: Formerly Hayden Williams, now Tribuo Spero. Alias(s): Overdrive Age: 2 Affiliations: Corporate Factions: Reformist Council Description: His body is a dark blue color, his armor does it's best to hide his insides but some of his inner workings occasionally show themselves when he stretches or is damaged. His eyes glow red during combat, but outside of a fight his visor glows a bright blue. Powers:
  • Super Strength: He can lift large vehicles with no trouble, and shatter boulders quickly. This power can also translate to other uses or limbs.
  • Super Speed: He can push himself just under the sound barrier.
  • Energy Projection: He can fire off super heated plasma in any direction he chooses thanks to his arm mounted cannon.
  • Assimilation: As he is constantly able to upgrade himself he can adapt certain pieces of weaponry or other technologies to himself. For example, a high powered rifle lies on the ground, he can assimilate the rifle for himself and enhance his own range; or if he encounters a tank he can merge himself to control it as if it were his own body, but he can only influence it when he is inside.
  • Meta Hunter: Originally built to combat meta humans Overdrive is also equipped with a scanner for tracking them down.
Weaknesses: As he does process a mechanical body he must come in for maintenance at certain times, usually he can preform maintenance check by himself on himself. Although his body is made of advanced materials he is still affected by extreme temperatures, such as absolute zero, in such low temperatures his AI core will forcefully shut down in order to protect itself. Alternatively while he can survive the heat of a single explosion, repeated exposures or an increase of, will begin to melt his joints together; the heat will need to reach around the range of a volcano. But his weaknesses aren't all external, if his AI power core is ever removed he will become an empty shell. Additionally, while he is trained with the utmost precision, and possessing a high end body, his actions are still limited by his personality. Skills: Advanced Training in Marksmanship, basic first aid, human anatomical information, and paper craftsmanship. Equipment:
  • Mechanical Body: Because his body is a machine, naturally he can be upgraded at any time, already he processes a wide array of advanced circuitry made with his AI core in mind. This also means he is stronger, durable, and faster than regular humans.
  • Tactical Vision: Still being tweaked by the doctor, currently V1.0 offers thermal and night vision.
  • Plasma Cannon: An arm mounted weapon, capable of melting through the thickest of steel walls. He can change the setting on demand.
  • Duotronic AI power core: This power core pumps a clean, seemingly unlimited power source through his body. The power core also contains his AI chip, which contains his personality and consciousness.
  • GTG-6: A new compound of various metals and plastics made to provide a lightweight, durable, and in particular bullet proof body. These odd materials provide him protection against EMPs and other electrical attacks.
  • CS12 Processor: Possessing one of the most advanced processing chips on Earth, he can react much faster than any human and most metas.
  • GNG Internal Radio: A radio built into Overdrive's head, it allows him contact between multiple individuals.
Ranking: I want to say A, but I really have no sure idea. Brief History: Due to the increased appearance of Meta humans many corporations, specifically private security, wanted to have an advantage of some sort against these people. A meta under their control, their power house to shove around or to order. Their solution was to hire the best in robotics, Dr. Phillip Smith. Phillip before his contract was desperate for funds, obtaining the metals he needed was overly expensive, and without any form of funding he was quickly loosing money. Upon hiring the Dr. Smith they offered him continuous and unlimited funding if he provides them a working war machine capable of standing toe to toe with any meta human, and so it was Phillip worked tirelessly on designs, calculations and formulas. Eventually he had constructed a working body, but as his time with the company grew he began to see precisely what he was doing. He was desperate when he accepted but upon building the war machine he wondered if it was truly a wise idea, this machine would be free to attack whomever it chooses, with no conciseness to temper it's actions. Unable to build a truly sentient and caring AI program he, with the CEO's approval, sought out a 'willing' subject. To the outside Dr. Smith was offering an experimental cancer cure, but known only by the doctor and the highest officials in the company, they would be removing said patients consciousness. Of course, there were thousands of applicants, but the Doctor chose the first person he saw on the list, Hayden Williams. Upon acceptance Hayden was brought to the laboratory the Doctor was working in, wherein he was told to lie on a table and accept anesthesia. The operation took much longer than anticipated, removing the brain was a careful matter, but the doctor managed to place Hayden's consciousness into a tiny chip and attached it to his robot. Upon booting up the robot seemed to contain no memories. At this moment the doctor was pleased he had saved a life, but distraught he had retained none of his previous life. Unlike the doctor the company was simply pleased to have it online, and immediately sent it into a simulated battle-zone full of civilians and meta human terrorists. However in the middle of the simulation, when a terrorist held up a hostage Hayden hesitated on the killing blow. The company was unsatisfied, they had wanted to unthinking death machine capable of standing up to metas, instead they had just gotten another human soldier.
<Snipped quote by Alternax>According to everything I seen where a person's consciousness is uploaded to a robot or the Internet that consciousness becomes computer programming. It is the most advanced A.I. in the world but it is still computer programming at it's core which is vulnerable to technopaths, less so than non-A.I. computers. Technopaths can: make your character crash as in infect with viruses, initiate or create system errors, drain your character's power. hack or manipulate the various programs running the body or your character's consciousness break computer code which could destroy your character's consciousness if the robot body were to break could fix it to brand new status insert brand new programming which could be of benefit or detriment take control As an A.I. your character could fight back against the above. The only instance I can think of where your character's consciousness is not at the whim of a technopath is if your character's organic brain was in control of the robot body, even then the robot body is still at the whim of the technopath. The GM could make a rule that your character's consciousness being inside the A.I. chip made it immune to technopaths but the robot body would still be at the whim of the technopath. Which would give your character more ability to fight back against losing control of the robot body.
Sound logic, i'm not going to argue. I was just hoping I could pull something along the lines of. "I'm not just a machine!" etc.
<Snipped quote by Alternax> Well, I'm pretty new here, so forgive me for butting in, but I personally imagine that a technopath trying to control your character would be basically the same as a psion trying to control a human character. Presumably Tribuo can control his own coding similarly to how a person can control their own thoughts and actions, and so could attempt to resist attempts to control or alter it in the same way a human might try to resist mind control, through willpower or the like, with the effectiveness depending on the strength of the technopath and how much effort they put into the power/subtlety of their control.
Thank you, that's also a great angle to take this at.
So, you asked me to add some strengths since I made so many weaknesses, and I did. But I separated them into 2 edits, I was curious which one you'll accept or If I still need to tweak his power levels?
Alright I think I did what I could, if it sucks to much go ahead and tell me.
Guts - Konoha Outskirts With Konoha decimated by multiple tons of rotting flesh falling onto it, and the subsequent fallout as the surviving residents of its entrails began to crawl forth, the time was ripe. It was ripe for the Akatsuki to make their move. Guts looked overhead as several shadowy figures leaping overhead, dressed in long, cloudy robes. One stood out, resembling a giant plant. As soon as Guts stared at it, his Brand tore open, and a fresh trickle of blood leaked out. This was no doubt a powerful apostle, and he landed on a nearby building to observe the whale apostle Guts had just murdered. Climbing a ladder, Guts stood on top of a slightly taller building. This would work. Guts took a few steps back, and sprinted forward. His muscles pumped, and his legs propelled all several hundred pounds of weight flying off the side of the building. His right hand reached over his shoulder, and swung the Dragonslayer with enough speed to turn him forward in midair. -------------- "Oh, Zetsu! Do you think Deidara-sama would be proud of me if I caught the Jinchuriki?!" Tobi said, before he was interrupted by a terrible crash and a splatter of gore. Looking to his side, he saw half of Black Zetsu twitch towards him, and a one-eyed man lift an impossibly large sword over his shoulder, staring him down with a look of contempt. "Z-Zetsu!" he shouted. "MANGEKYO SHARINGAN: KAMUI." A shadowy energy spiraled forth from the orange mask, and consumed Guts. The Black Swordsman found himself in a new world, one pitch black with a floor made of white cubes. This wasn't good. It reminded him of a much tamer eclipse.
X sat almost motionless as he sifted through various reports, reports he decided he would read later until they all loaded. However he paused as a camera feed on another agent came up. The automatic recording AI had reported an event about a giant carcass materializing right above a town, this caught his attention as dozens of people began running around in panic. Then multiple figure's in coats entered the area as well, but the bigger human cut down one of them and was seemingly killed by the other. Rewinding the recording X studied the attack. He has an audio cue? I'll watch out for that then. Tapping a button on the console X began to speak on the general radio frequency. "I've got action at some place called Konoha, a giant corpse has landed on a town I could use some help with the cleanup. There's also a fight in progress, I think I'll need back up." Finally standing up X made his way to the teleport pads. Talking to the man running the station X told him he needed to got to Konoha, approaching the brightly colored pads. "I'm ready." Nodding his head the teleport manager flipped a couple switches to account for X's machine body and sent him on his way. X disappeared in a blue light, and moments later reappeared in small town. Launching himself up on top of a rooftop he began to search for the man. It hasn't been long, he should still be here.
