Assignment: Engage the attackers' rear flank @Tsunmene

Colt lowered himself, coiling his body in preparation to avoid the incoming flames - but Nova handled things as expected. He relaxed his muscles, pressing a hand to the other Light Bearer's back to support her as she held back the fire. "Thanks for the cover. You able to field this one?" He asked. "I'm gonna flank, try and handle their rear guard and keep any reinforcements back." He said, his words barely audible over the din of the flames blasting the shield. As Nova Andromeda lowered her guard and spoke her piece, Colt nodded, turning his gaze to the Scourge.

"Save some for me." He said, nudging Nova with his shoulder, and keeping his attention on Algrimar, he broke right, casting a wide arc around the Scourge, weaving into and through the trees until he lost sight of his Light Bearer friend and her opponent. A few stray lesser Grim stood in his path, dispatched mostly painlessly - but he skidded to a halt when-

"Oh. Shit."

It started with a blood trail, then one corpse. Then another, and several more. He gingerly passed by them - unable to shake the sensation of being watched as he strode deeper and deeper, hacking through the underbrush until he broke through the treeline. The moon shone down over an open field where the blood trail ended. Colt's gaze scanned the countryside, and caught sight of motion descending a hill in the distance. The sound of music wafted to his ears. Singing.

He drew closer. There wasn't much hiding the stranger's true nature - she was in the open after all. But he suspected she didn't have much to fear, judging by the gaggle of insectoid Grim around her. He clicked his tongue. Fine, best match that energy.

A bolt of lightning lit up the night as an electrified throwing knife embedded itself in the chitin of a centipede-like creature at her back. Nothing debilitating - but that wasn't the point.

"Sorry, fingers slipped." Colt announced, as he drew closer to Kohi Dei and her underlings. The centipede chittered and bore down on him. He laughed, weaving to the right, knocking playfully on the creature's exoskeleton before catching his knife and yanking it from its side. He gave the woman a little wave as the insect rounded on him, slowly closing in. "Hey, your friend's making me nervous."

He leapt into a graceful backflip, landing squarely on the massive insect's head as he wrapped a hand onto one of its mandibles for support, driving his hunting knife into its skull. He clung as it writhed, then came down with a slam. He casually pranced off it, pulling the knife from its head, flipping it, and sheathing it at his chest. He shot the woman a finger gun. "Liked your singing."

Lady Victory. Stronghold of Mistmoor, Evening.

Current Targets: Tarrian Kar. @BunniesOfDoom Erik Elfhame Ostriecher V. @IAmTheIsland

Tarrian's shoulder braced against the gate as Grim after Grim slammed into it. The wood began to buckle and creak under the weight of their onslaught, but then, suddenly it went silent once more. A few of the guards assisting in bracing the door let up, their heavy breaths the only sound in the night. Suddenly, the silence was broken by a sickening crunch, then another. The sound of flesh being rent and the sweet smell of death wafted through the gate - and then silence again.

"Open the gate." A woman's voice echoed from beyond. "The Light-Bearers." The voice said simply. No further words were spoke, and everyone remained in silence for a moment, before one of the guardsmen rose up, and with a shaking hand, opened the gate's viewport a crack. He slowly peered through it, and yipped in astonishment just as much as fear.

"The Grim... They're all dead."

"They have been dealt with." The woman's voice again explained as the guard yelped and fell backwards. "I expect them to follow orders - not to simply throw themselves at the wall of the enemy."

"Shit, maybe if we throw them out there, she'll leave us alone." The terrified guard said, huddled up in a corner just beside the gate. "H-Hey, what do you want?!" He shouted. Silence fell over them once more for several seconds. "Open the gate. I want Tarrian Kar and Erik Ostriecher V." She repeated. "You've five seconds, or I will open it myself."
pop off hylia! dont worry about it
Ditto I am also kinda waiting here lmao

I think it's Island and Bunnies I'm waiting on for Himari, and Hylia for Colt.
I'll probably wait for Nova first in Dogfalls, keep it on a nice clean rotation. I'd also prefer to be able to consolidate Himeri's next act in the same post but with Island on vacation I suppose that'd be on pause haha

"Let's make tracks then." Alicia said, rising from the table. "Gotta buy a new jacket now anyway..." She mumbled, not really intending any ire. "Do hope Tessa's okay." She added offhandedly, glancing at William over her shoulder as they passed through the door and into the night. "Everyone was pretty fucked up about this all but I think she took it hardest. Least far as I can see." She continued, giving a brief, petty little 'heh'. "No matter how hard I try, I can't really get into Dom's head, and especially not Kessler. Lot of the Fangs are a rowdy bunch, kind of crowd I was pretty used to seeing, uh-" She stopped herself short. "Never mind. Got nostalgic about some stupid bullshit."

Silence fell between the pair as they wove through the moon-kissed streets of Halcyon. She felt eyes on them - but nothing more than the knowing gazes of other Lycans, or the lingering gazes of loud college boys landing on the goth bitch on the sidewalk. Her paranoia never quite let up, and only began to worsen once they were out of the Fangs' territory in full. She nudged William with her elbow. "Remember, we're trying to sniff out a trail via the people who sell information. Where we find those people is uh..." She cleared her throat. She was mostly trying to get her mind off the unease, but it helped to find that point of focus either way. "Well, we improvise. Maybe we start- What's the term I'm looking for... False flagging?"

She snaps her fingers, eyes widening with realization. "Yeah. We start acting like we're the ones asking after Fang higher-ups." She explained, tugging again on Will's sleeve. "Get people to point us towards y'know, people who know shit about the Fangs and have been selling that information and then in the process we could start feeding them misinfo." She continued. "And whoever acts on that fake information - well we know who's been squealing for one. That narrows things down."

She spread her lips into a grin, her fangs glistening, as she punched William in the arm playfully. "Then sic you or, like, Kessler on 'em." She said, cracking her knuckles. "Well, implying Kessler isn't already ripping someone to shreds tonight..." She mused, shoving her hands in her pockets, coughing awkwardly. "Meh."

She glanced sidelong at William, tilting her head. "Hey, you're a bit of a stray mutt like me. You wound up here. Got any stories? Any idea at all what you were up to before..." She clicked her tongue, nodding abstractly at the buildings. "Y'know, was there a 'before Halcyon' for you, or you a local?" She asked. "Just uh... Filling the air, I guess. Walking like this in silence gets me antsy, or something..."
Since we have a lot more people in the campaign and it's only growing, would yall like to make a discord for the game? Or are we good to just keep the OOC section of this thread?

Location: Gate of Dogfalls

Assignment: Defend The City

Bells rang out across the night as Colt was roused from his sleep. "Shit." He mumbled groggily as he rolled, fell out of bed with a thump, and clambered to his feet to prep. "Shit shit shit shit shit...!" He repeated, glancing out the window and shielding his eyes as a brilliant sigil of light lit up the horizon. "Looks like we're on." He said, as he began to work on the straps of his gear, stumbling downstairs. He burst into the night, rounding onto the cobblestone street only stopping short near another cottage nearer the church

The sight of his father, mounting up and preparing to ride gave him pause. The pair's eyes met. "Izolde is on her way to the market square. Not to worry Colt, I'm simply going to the church."

Colt nodded. "Out the gate." He affirmed, and his father saluted. "Alathean's light be with you, son."

The older man whirled his steed around, and Colt clicked his tongue. "Always is." He said, as he took off for the gates. As he neared closer, a battalion of guards drew into sight, spears, bows, and swords drawn as creatures pounded on the gate. "Avalon!" One of them cried over his shoulder. "Get your ass to the ramparts, we're-"

A brilliant bolt of light exploded from the sky, suddenly, and just audible from the other side of the gate was the voice of a familiar soul. "Ha, Nova beat me to it again." Colt said with a grin as the guard shrugged at him. "Crack the gate, I'm on it."

The gate of the stronghold lifted ever-so slightly, and Colt took a running start. He dropped into a slide, scattering the ashes of the Grim that Nova had vaporized. He stood, jogging forth as he punched Nova on the shoulder. "They had to do this in the middle of the night, huh?"
He's just a little guy!
More reinforcements incoming.
