All I ask is that people communicate these things.

Well won't matter if we don't have a GM.
@ManoftheNorth

Welcome back
@ManoftheNorth

As said I am not the GM.

You can take what I said a grain of salt
@ManoftheNorth

I am not the GM. You do you. But I am merely explaining how it can be confusing to some. I have also been RPing for 16 years myself. And I have never heard someone say Beastkin and Beastman are the same.

You continue doing whatever, I was just settling some confusion with terminology
@ManoftheNorth

There's nothing human about him. The only reason I am saying anything is because your character is a precursor to someone else who wants to create a Beastman.

When I hear the word Beastman, I think Guin, from Guin Saga

I don't think full on beast like a Khajiit. If that was the case I just call them Beast race with anthropomorphic qualities. The only reason why I said anything is because its extremely confusing visually when I see one term in exchange for another.
@ManoftheNorth

No. Neko are still Beastmen. Beastmen, have the word MEN in them. Which means that they would have some part of them human. Beastskin implies something entirely different. It implies someone who is entirely the beast. I play DnD as well and know GMs who allow Nekos and they are considered beast.

Neko means cat and Nekomimi simply means Cat Ears. Neko is a shortened form. But beast woman like that are actually considered yokai in japanese mythology. She is more akin to a demon.

This is a beastman;

^See part of him is still human. Beast + Human

@Whiskey Business

I have some more questions. Your wording is confusing. Are the beast we will be fighting paranormal or not?

Only a select few have actually dealt with spirits and demons -- the wild beastiary of the land are often mistaken for paranormal monsters.

So are the monsters we will be fighting, paranormal or not? Could you expand on this?

Also, why are the PCs Sphinx ranked? Shouldn't we be past our training? And, why is the GMs character old as fuck, and Sphinx'd rank?

I mean if you're inspired by Witcher, Geralt wasn't set out on a mission when he was still doing the Trials of Grass. You became a Witcher before you Witcher'd.

So, why wouldn't they become Chimera to be a Swordseeker?

And why would anyone hire still in training Swordseekers for this awesome mission?

I'm sorry if it seems I am picking at everything. But I seriously want to make a good character. But things need to be cleared up.
So I noticed that this is low magic fantasy. If I were to make a battlemage/wizard, what are the do's and don'ts you'd suggest?
@Whiskey Business

Was about to ask that myself mate. Cause I am making a tricky arcane rogue/assassin. [hate how those terms are interchangeable these days]
@Durnehviir

Sure. That's fine. But I don't quite know how a rival will work, but we can always talk it out.
IC has been written but hasn't been posted yet. I have to gather pictures for you folks so you know what the interior looks like to their apartment.
