It could be kind of rage-inducing, given that for most if not all magical girls one tap on the gem and they're dead. Nobody likes being taken out with just one attack.

Sayaka's gem survived a fall off a bridge without breaking, so I think we can assume that they're not quite baubles in terms of fragility (depending on what was in the truck, of course). The ones which have broken over the course of the series have (as I recall) been either chewed up and broken by witches or targeted specifically by other magical girls at a very close range. So their palm-sized nature does help a lot in that case.

I put Kei's on an anklet specifically to match up with the Achilles' Heel metaphor.

Rubberbandits are one of those bands that you hardly listen to and never expect to be relevant until one day, coming out of the blue like a collapsing weather satellite onto a tin shack as you drive by, they are.

It contrasts her wish a lot. It seems something that has to do more with her subconscious rather than her wish necessarily, which makes it seem like something she'd have as a Witch rather than a magical girl.

I see where you're coming from with perceiving a personality/bio disparity, but there are some aspects of Kei's identity that if I can't repair with selective rewording, I'd rather keep and then bench the character in her entirety and write a completely new one. Give me about 15 hours to figure that out (busy day), I'll see what I can do and get back to you.

Also, please explain how her paint themes don't work for a magical girl? Do they contrast with her wish or are each of them individually too varied from a core theme? Are they too destructively focused? I'm lost.

Edit: Also, can I ask for a Threads, Experience and Despair roll so I can get straight to constructing the replacement character if I decide to decommission Kei later today?
