Overall, I'm fairly flexible. A bit of clever writing can work new characters into the op without too much trouble, though the word "collab" will probably be heavily involved in doing so.
And actually, I kind of enjoyed that little lull. Showing both the bullets flying everywhere and the friendly banter when relaxing is good in my opinion, helps develop the characters more, etc.
