All right! I can make revisions if necessary, or even just app a different magus. That said, first I'll try to explain the logic behind my decisions here. Hopefully that'll make things clearer and make it easier to hash out what exactly needs fixing.

  • With regards to the Mystic Codes, that's how Atlas Alchemists supposedly operate. They have Shirou-tier Magic Circuits (as seen with Nuari), and know barely any practical spells beyond Thought Acceleration and Memory Partition. However, they use the two of those to basically turn themselves into sentient computers, and then apply their empowered minds to create all kinds of crazy devices (ranging from Sion's Etherlite to superweapons like the Black Barrel). Nuari is meant to follow this trend: neither she nor her family have any notable spellcasting ability, because they're specialized entirely in boosting their intelligence to create powerful mystic codes.
  • Within this Atlas style of magecraft, the Maaike are further specialized in investigating Void Space. The reason I gave Nuari a third spell at all beyond the thought/memory stuff is because researching and creating mystic codes based on Void Space would likely require an easy means of accessing said space in the first place. It's not that she's more talented than someone like Trisha Fellows, it's that her family studies Void Space and its applications to the exclusion of literally everything else. Hence why Nuari's first two mystic codes are sensory (devices created for observation, which is essential to research), and her third one is protective (designed to protect a researcher from what they were studying). The last two are the actual fruits of the whole process, and their power stems from the fact that a lot of time was spent gathering knowledge and building them. That said, I know that last one is somewhat over-the-top, and I can probably tone it down by reducing the range/duration or requiring some kind of set-up for each use.
  • The whole point of the Maaike joining Yggdmillenia was that they hadn't gone completely unnoticed. People were sniffing around, and if the truth about them came out then they'd have been pretty much screwed. Atlas would want them gone, and the Church and the Clock tower would likely as not be happy to help wipe them out in exchange for political capital with Atlas. The Maaike are less cunning masterminds and like magical scientists, who require both Atlas knowledge and access to the world at large to pursue their research. Yet that very combination is forbidden, thus making their existence a kind of taboo. They're not capable enough to keep the truth hidden forever, and as soon as it emerged they'd be the enemies of every major mage organization... Thus, Yggdmillennia is really their only chance of long-term survival. They're making themselves enemies of the Clock Tower by joining Yggmillenia, but from their point of view it was going to happen anyways and they may as well fight a war with some actual allies on their side. Their endgame is basically just getting themselves into a position where they don't have to worry about being wiped out and can continue their work in peace.

So! With all that in mind, do you think she could still be viable? And if so, what would you recommend I tweak?
Master Sheet! I did a brainy girl.

@AnzaWasn't expect to see Billy.

Never mind modern fantasy, we a western now!
Servant sheet done!

Will have a Master up sometime in the next day or two.
Nice! Looks like this is moving forward. I'll work on getting an Archer sheet done tonight.
Interested! I’m always up for a good Grail War.
Lavinia

Now Zenith’s heartbeat was speeding up too. No doubt about it: there was definitely something going on between him and Holly. Lavinia glanced surreptitiously back and forth between the two, her brow furrowed as she tried to puzzle out what it all meant. Perhaps those two were secretly mortal enemies? And their hearts started beating harder whenever they came close, because they were getting pumped to fight one another. Yes, that was probably it.

In the meantime, Lavinia’s own pulse was undergoing some drastic changes of pace, as she fastidiously avoided looking at Ria and tried to fight the parts of herself that wanted to a) laugh out loud and start monologuing about how she’d ruined the water mage’s little tryst, or b) get down on her knees and beg for forgiveness. The best thing to do right now would be to stay calm and act like nothing was wrong. Maybe if she pretended hard enough, it would come true.

”No need to be concerned, dear,” she purred, back into cool-and-calculating-mastermind mode. ”I’d never let any of my fellow mages perish by another’s hand.” She shot a meaningful look at the armored S-class, though internally her anger had died down a bit thanks to Zenith’s keen assessment of what the newspapers would be saying tomorrow. I’ll be rich and famous soon, and then I can just buy everyone expensive things and make them like me. Wait, that wasn’t right. I meant 'make them serve and obey,' of course. Whether they like me pr not is completely irrelevant! They would grovel to her like pawns beneath a queen, and bring her cool drinks and sandwiches whenever she asked.

With these thoughts in mind, she swept proudly past Zenith and pointed to the Obsidian Kite peon. ”You there, peasant! One of our own has suffered a groin injury in the preceding battle, so make sure that he is given the finest seat on board.” She raised her chin, looking down on him with a disdainful glare. ”And before you think about disobeying me, remember what happened to the dragon just now.” Her threat was totally subtle and she wasn’t sure he’d get it, but if he did then she knew he’d end up doing exactly as she'd demanded. Go, me!
Public Morals Committee and a Delinquent. What could go wrong!

"Master, get back here this instant! Your dinner's getting cold!"
@1Charak2

DIBS!

Um. That is... I’d be interested in forming a pairing with this Master, assuming she’s accepted and you’re down for it.
Lavinia

Fenixtear’s resident evil mastermind stiffened when Holly came near, trying not to look directly at her. She was still miffed about the S-class mage standing front and center for the press, when Lavinia had done at least as much work in slaying the dragon. She shields the citizenry from my villainous wiles… Curse youuuu, Holly Vertilaaaaa!!

Sadly, though, she had to restrain herself from kicking this particular antagonist between the legs. Not only was Holly a woman, she was also clad in armor, and any attempt at a surprise attack would only result in Lavinia breaking her foot.

Besides, the guild’s probably already angry at me for what I did to Asher. She didn’t exactly feel bad for that violent act; back in Vampire Mirror it had been common to see guildmates attacking one another at the slightest provocation. It was a natural thing for a villain to do, a healthy expression of one’s internal darkness and savagery.

So she didn’t feel bad about it. Just… somewhat uneasy? Maybe her stomach was acting up, or maybe the drain on her magical energy was taking a toll, or maybe she was just feeling disgust at having brought her foot so close to that unpleasant part of male anatomy. There had to be something that explained her current state, the complete lack of glee and satisfaction at the harm she had wrought.

Anyhow, she didn’t move against Holly, though she did arch an eyebrow as she sensed something beneath the mage’s armor. Did her heartbeat just speed up a little? And that’s an unusual amount of blood in her cheeks. Perhaps she was injured, but there didn’t seem to be anything else wrong with her. A true mystery…

Rather than bring it up, however, she poked Zenith in the shoulder with one finger. ”Hey, I’ll be on the front page too, right? After all, I’m the one who struck the final blow. There’s no way they could have missed me!” Yes, she could picture it now, a big sub-heading beneath the headline. 'THE BEAST WAS PUT DOWN BY A POWERFUL BLOOD MAGE, WHOSE PRESENCE WAS SO TERRIFYING THAT ALL OUR REPORTERS SPONTANEOUSLY PEED THEIR PANTS.' Soon, all of Fiore would know and fear her name!
