Alright status update: I have started a new job and am currently in the process of getting used to said job. To all the games I'm currently in I will starting work on responses this weekend

Due to a misplacement of my laptop I will unlikely be able to post until Friday or there abouts. My apologies for those waiting on me.
Ok just thought I'd ask since insaw that the slot was still open. As a question (I still have to read the OP so sorry if I ask dumb questions) but are Vassal weapons available for use or would it be too early in thr series for them?

”Haven't I killed you already."
For this version of Hellboy I don't want him to be attached to the BPRD, able to explore his own story without being held back because of government blowback. With no government to him back, the entire world of mythology and occult stories will be open to explore. While I love the character itself Hellboy gives me the opportunity to explore different stories from the occult and myths from around the world. I intend to start with the classic versions of monsters (vampires, werewolves and the like) while eventually moving into more obscure stories such as yokai, German myths and of course good ol' Cthulu.
C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:
To put it simply Hellboy is going to be hunted and haunted. This version I have in mind is some years after the death of Professor Bruttenholm and his subsequent defection from the BPRD. The now Chief Manning is finally able to hunt down the biggest threat to humanity. Now being the hunted instead of the hunter Hellboy has to deal with not having the government backing he used to, but his once comrades are now hunting him.
While all this is hitting the proverbial fan, Hellboy is also dealing with the loss of his adoptive father. Professor Broom was the only person who saw the potential for good in him and strove for him to be treated as a normal human child. His unconditional and unfailing love is what made him the man he is today. With his death this teetering vilgiante will now live with the fact that he couldn't save his father.
It's these two components that I want to explore. To discover the emotions that someone in these conditions would feel.
C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:
Director Tom Manning - the current director of the BPRD. Manning has never liked or trusted Hellboy and with his defection from the organization he has turned him into public enemy number one. A stuffy bureaucratic type, Manning has never been outside of an office and frequently over looks the work of field agents, especially non-human agents.
Roger the Homunculus - an agent of the BPRD. Roger was discovered by Hellboy and his team in Romania several years prior and is now a leader of the team that Hellboy led. While he and Hellboy had an amicable relationship, Roger's dedication to his job has put the two at odds. Roger believes that when captured Hellboy will be reinducted to the organization, something that Hellboy knows better.
Abe Sapien - Hellboy's closest friend, this fish-man helps Hellboy as much as possible within the BPRD. Sharing the same sentiment towards Professor Bruttenholm, Hellboy even looked at Abe like a brother and was crushed when he chose to stay.
Liz Sherman - the love of his life, Liz is an exceptionally talented pyrokinetic who has been an on again off again romance in his life. At the time of his defection Liz and Hellboy had an explosive confrontation regarding Broom and Manning's cold and callous nature about the whole thing caused a split in their relationship. Now they have to face each other as enemies...something neither are prepared to do.

Hellboy discovers disturbing news of vampire involvement in matters regarding the Ogdru Jahad and has decided to figure out the depth of their involvement by investigating a vampire by the name of Deacon Frost.
Upon returning to Talemon Ikarus was faced with mortal life on Galbar. They were in a poor state and even as Ikarus witnessed the blessings of the divine upon them it was still unclear to their success. Since their meeting near the Giant's Bath Ikarus has stayed out of the way from the comings and goings of the others tending mostly to his own studies, if he was to remain he would need to prove his worth more than granting one blessing to one Mortal. For most of his days he sat isolated from the world deep in meditative thought allowing the Mana around him to flow as he felt himself become a central focal point of the natural Mana. He was not sure how long he had been sitting like this when a curiosity somehow broke his concentration. A mortal, a Pygmy as he heard Any call them, standing at his feet staring up at the Great Wyrm.
"Why do you stare mortal?"
"You are strange great spirit."
'An odd choice of words for one that you call "Great Spirit." ' mused Ikarus.
This one was different. It seemed not to necessarily bend to conformity of its life. While still beholden to Anu's reign and carries itself to his standards, there was a difference in his soul almost. Peering into what Mana held for this creature, Ikarus saw that this particular Pygmies Mana reserve was more than the others that he had witnessed in and around Talemon. He was neither exceptionally taller or stronger than his kin but his mind seemed sharper than the rest, as far as he could tell. His hands were thick from attending his duties and his fur seemed especially thick almost like an extra layer of minor protection.
"What is your name mortal? Has your King granted you a name?"
"This one is called M'Bani...Great Spirit"
This time a proper kowtow was given, almost as if it finally dawned on him that he was to still show respect to this newcomer as he was to his king. Something that Ikarus was not used to dealing with. 'Let us see what potential he has.'
"Alright M'Bani since you find me strange you shall work for me now. I have many things to do and I will require someone to serve these needs. Come, there is much to do."
Grabbing M'Bani and taking off towards the center of Talemon in view, and to the surprise of many. Placing the confused pygmy down Ikarus gathered a view of the area including Tal Eren sizing up the scale of what was around him. An idea had been dancing through his thoughts for a time and it was time to test the limits of what his imagination could do.
"M'Bani, you serve a mighty king, a being of mighty creation. There is, however, a limit to what he can deal with. Your king can only deal with matters directly within his view but the people as a whole will need protecting and for all his strength he won't be able to be everywhere simultaneously."
Channeling the Mana in the area and infusing it with his own personal supply Ikarus began creating a field of invisible force around the city. The pale blue energy formed around the perimeter of the city and slowly grew into a crested dome which peaked over the caster. As it grew M'Bani began to see the strangest sight, as the dome grew it appeared that whisping smoke moved through the barrier itself billowing and flowing. Taking shapes of hands and strange symbols that he had never seen as if the Great Spirit was imparting some deep and unknown thing. M'Bani was utterly moved by the sight. When he was finished Ikarus peered down at the gawking mortal as he searched for the words to convey his astonishment.
"G..Great Spirit….what..is this?"
"This is a barrier that should protect those unable to fight and secure the buildings that we have erected. These people are now my people, these buildings my buildings. I want to see them stand for eons to come. Is this something that you feel like you wish for as well?"
"Yes Great Spirit!"
"Then we have much to do my apprentice. There are an infinite mysteries to solve and we have a people to protect. First go and tell the King what has happened here and what we have accomplished, next we need to see the extent of what this barrier can handle. Go now."
With the giddiness of a child M'Bani ran off towards Tal Eren to report the amazing things he had seen. This thing...this barrier, it should protect the people against simple threats but enemies have a way of growing stronger as soon as defenses are put up. The thought this barrier may eventually fail one day was already causing the Prime Magician a great deal of stress. They spent the rest of the day testing the limits of the barrier to see what it could withstand. While he was certain that the deities would be able to easily disintegrate such a small thing the mortals of this world should not be able to penetrate so easily. Back at his sectioned corner of Talemon Ikarus gazed at his creation and had to smirk even if it was internally, this was the first thing that Mana had produced that could produce tangible results and he couldn't help but be pleased with himself. This was going to require more research.
Ikarus followed Anu back to Talemon.
Isolating himself to a sense of meditative study Ikarus watches the pygmies go about their daily lives.
One pygmy in particular M'Bani takes interest in Ikarus
In a brief exchange Ikarus notices that M'Bani is different than the others and decides to take him on as an apprentice.
Finally taking action Ikarus erectus a barrier around Talemon as a form of protection, creating a new school of magic.
Tests the extent of the barrier. Holds up to primitive mortal weapons.

New school of magic
Abjuration - The School of Abjuration emphasizes magic that blocks, banishes, or protects. Detractors of this school say that its tradition is about denial, negation rather than positive assertion. You understand, however, that ending harmful effects, protecting the weak, and banishing evil influences is anything but a philosophical void. It is a proud and respected vocation.
Of all the things that had been built in this dark underground hole this chapel was the one thing that Father insisted be built within this concrete prison. He said that if we were to fight evil then we must have the presence of God in everything that we do. At the moment there were only Father and himself sitting down going through the daily prayers Hellboy looked up at the figure of the hanging Jesus and couldn't help but feel slightly uneasy about it. He had seen the way the soldiers looked at him whenever they so happened to catch a glance or hear the things they would say about him. He must have been too long out of prayer when the stern but gentle voice of Father scolded him,
"Hellboy, God is not one have His prayers unfinished. Why have you stopped?"
The pause quickly became long and uncomfortable as Hellboy slowly turned to his father,
"Father, am I the Devil?"
The genuine shock on Professor Brooms face actually caught him by surprise. One would think that having a child that looked like he did would raise the question a bit sooner than it did with the professor.
"No Hellboy, you are not the Devil! Who on earth would put such a terrible thought in your head?
"I see the way the soldiers look at me and I can hear what they say. They think that I am some sort of monster...I didn't do anything to them. Why do they hate me?"
As hard as he tried to stop them tears began streaming down the crimson child's face and a sob built itself from a whimper as Professor Broom quickly embraced his ward in a tight hug.
"Hellboy people hate what they do not understand and fear what cannot be explained. We all have the choice to be the boogeyman in the scary stories, but if you truly believe yourself to be good then you let your actions make them see. All you need to concern yourself with is that God has a plan and purpose for you and that I love you very much my son."
Hearing the Professor call him his son was the last straw, as Hellboy broke down into uncontrollable sobbing. He never missed a service after that day...taking what his father said to heart. God must have a plan...he simply must.
November 12tH, 2019- 21:20 |Ellowyn's Tomes - Troll Market, New York
'What a weird time to think about that.
Hellboy walked through the Market lost deep within his own mind as the residents of the community parted like the Red Sea for him. Paying no heed to the mass of creatures Hellboy pondered over the vampire that he just ashed in the alley not twenty feet behind him, particularly the fact that a vampire was looking for information about the Ogdru Jahad. He had been doing this a very long time and most vampires tended to keep to themselves and their underground but understood agreement with humanity, so why was this Deacon Frost wanting to get his hands on this book. Looking down at the book in his stone hand he inspected more closely. The worn leather cover was beginning to tatter in some places, it's binding made from thick leather strings and pages had to be from papyrus or some other paper like substance. The writing on the inside, however, was the most concerning. Like he said to ashy in the alley it was pre Sanskrit, the Old Language, and while he couldn't read most of it certain words stood out. Ogdru Jahad, Hand of Doom, End of Days and the rest were lost to the ages. The fact a vampire, who by most accounts stays within their lane and feeds when in need, is looking into the Ogdru Jahad did not sit well with Hellboy.
Returning to Ellowyn's with the idea to get some answers, perhaps the old elf would be able to give him more info.
"Hey Elly, thanks for the heads up. Ya did good to lemme know…"
"Don't flatter yourself devil. I care little for your praises, no one needs to know about the old dragons. They should stay locked away where they belong."
"And ta that we agree. Speaking of, I need to know what's in this book. Whatever this vampire was looking for in here was enough to brave the Market. Can ya translate this for me?"
"I am a merchant, not a scholar. This job is more suited for another. Is there not another soul that you can torment with your presence?"
With a long drawn out sigh Hellboy stared at the book as a moment of silence grew between the two. Yes there was someone else who could translate the book. But to do so would bring up a great deal of mess that he wasn't willing to deal with. Abe. The BPRD and him were not on the beat of terms and to get to Abe he would have to deal with...Him.
"Yeh Elly I do. Just don't feel like dealing with them at the moment. Sigh… Well I need to figure out this vampire angle, what do you know about them?"
