With costumes done and delivered, Blazermate meandered around looking for something else to do. It was then something on the list came to her mind. 'finding the snow imps'. This, was something she could do very well with her Scan ability once she thought about it. As she looked around the village, she found why people had a hard time finding these things. While Scan made it much easier to find them, there were a lot of them and they hid in the strangest of places.

For example, when she started to scan for them, knowing what they look like, she found one hiding in a festive barrel filled with candy canes. Apparently the imp, once found and grabbed, had been nibbling on the base of these candy canes making them look like they had been nibbled by mice. Another one she found just out in the open, as it was pretending to be an ornament. Seeing as how Sectonia, Mokou and Edward had just put these ornaments up, she was a bit surprised they didn't see this one. That or perhaps it took the time between the ornaments being hung up and Blazermate finding it to find its 'hiding spot'.

While Blazermate could keep looking for these things, having someone help her would probably be for the best. As while some of them hid until grabbed, some just ran the first time Blazermate even looked at them scampering into little hidey holes that she couldn't fit into.

"I don't have any opinion on what you do with the stagecoach. I ride on top of it anyway to keep an eye out so it doesn't bother me." Blazermate said, as Sandalphon suggested changes to be made to the stagecoach. Sectonia appreciated her mentioning symmetry as something that was important, saying. "It fits both form and function. It looks much better, and theres no chance of things going lopsided." She said basically affirming what Sandalphon had said.

As they made their way they ran into a bit of a side objective, a derelict town to explore appeared before them. Being one to see if areas had useful items, as one couldn't be too sure in this strange world that there wasn't some, magical artifact of obscene power hidden in the most mundane of places. So Sectonia volunteered to go and check out the town. Seeing as multiple seekers were going, Blazermate decided to join them.

The houses didn't look the greatest, so Sectonia suggested that if they were empty, as they weren't staying the could just... level the place. Looking at these wooden houses and hearing that, a thought entered Blazermate's head and she flew to a nearby house, got her tinderbox out, and lit it on fire. it took a bit for it to catch, and as she tried from the side of the house came a monster dressed in winter gear to investigate the 'tick tick' of the tinderbox. As it left the house it saw Sectonia, and immediately attacked her. Although attacking Sectonia was the last thing it'd do as it touched her, she summoned a large Ring of Light around her, and using it has a 'get off me' sort of attack, did some damage, smashing the creature with her crystal smash afterwords.

This gave Blazermate enough time to light the house on fire, getting more fireworks as her firemaking level got to 41 from the sheer amount of wood burned. As the house burned, Blazermate happy about her 'xp', the rest of the monsters tried to escape the burning house, walking through a field of swords on the ground as she struck her lightning down at them, giving them nowhere to go but forward through the pain as their house burned, but they'd only get close to Sectonia before they fell.

Picking up the spirits of the 4 monsters, considering they had winter gear, perhaps this would help with the cold that was to come?

Listening to Terry's idea, Roland shrugged. "Can't hurt to have more people I guess. Although if any of them have ulterior motives, things might get ugly." Really he was all for the assassination plan, that was kinda what fixer work he did when not doing intelligence. When the newcomer Yayama came up and said their plan, Roland could only shake his head at the full assault plan. "If thats your thing, then you'll love these guys. " Roland said. "They do this thing all the time. Granted when I worked at the library we'd have to fight the City in 5 man teams as well, so Its not unknown to me. but when things get too big, well..." Roland continued, not really finishing that thought.

"Although, I've also got my own fights so... unless opportunity comes knocking, I'll be going through Tekken. I think I'm one of the only ones going through that line, and we need to take out that king." Roland said, pointing out their main mission. "I HAVE to take my fights. Although if I come home with a book, you'll know why."

Not needing anything in the way of sustenance, Blazermate helped people where she could but outside of scouting, scanning, and healing or the occasional punch there wasn't a whole lot for her to do. She could help hunt for food though, and that'd be helpful for those that needed to eat. Although curious as to the whole 'leveled up firemaking' thing, before they left the cabin they had slept in, Blazermate took whatever flammable garbage and such was there outside and started a fire with it. Fireworks appeared over her head again as the same thing that told her that level thing before said she was now level 16, a massive jump from before as she burned a whole lot of stuff at once. She didn't know what this would actually do, but maybe it'd make itself known in time? She contemplated burning down the entire cabin, but she decided against it since they'd probably have to come back this way.

Speaking of said cabin, outside of Tenna's apparent malfunctioning minigame of which she won due to her ability to cause mass destruction in a minigame based around such an idea, Sectonia had a fairly restful night. While her antlers did most of the cleaning, it seemed everyone on White team was pretty neat and proper or were getting there. Or were of the type that didn't sleep at all, something she once tried via magic but decided wasn't worth the boredom. Still, while still a bit strange and a couple of them looking more grotesque as they fused with more and more spirits, overall she'd say while not up to her opulent standards her allies were doing mostly what they could.

Once they reached their next stop, a town inhabited by rabbits, Blazermate offered to help look for food. While finding vegitables would be something difficult for her unless they were combat ready, finding animals was a lot easier. Although with so many bunnies around, they'd be the ones on the menu it seemed. Ramattra and Tenna going after the bunnies with traps and such. Blazermate would assist them, and being the fastest of the bunny hunters, could occasionally just swoop down like a bird and grab one or snipe one with a divine star or trap one with a Disruption. However these would take a lot longer to do than the initial trap idea.

Sectonia seeing the Soulfisher, someone she had talked to before that had given them the information about this trail, decided to have another chat with him. While he wasn't the prettiest thing to look at, he was useful and for the most part harmless, so asking a few more questions couldn't hurt. Much like before, she had to use her fire breath to light his fire to wake him from his stupor. After greeting him, Sectonia asked the obvious question. "How did you get here before us? Last I remember you were still in Snowdin when we left."

The old drifter awoke with a start, blinking his empty sockets at the familiar visage of the swarm queen. "Well, howdy! Been a li'l spell since we crossed paths, eh?" He rubbed his chin, mulling over her question. "How'd I get here, hmm...well, maybe my walk looked a bit different from yours. Could be you're walkin' it backwards-like, this road I've been travelin' a long while." He chuckled. "If that's the case, of course I got here before you did. And if that don't make sense, well, hehe...that's jus' par for the course on the Midnight Walk."

"Considering how strange things can be sometimes I'll accept that. I'd also assume you didn't have to purge an entire zoo of corrupted, malformed creatures or a space elevator full of corrupted flesh." Sectonia said, offhandedly mentioning their journey so far. She left out the town they visited as well as the cabin for now as unlike the zoo and space elevator, they weren't as bad even if the town was full of ugly cybernetics.

"I've noticed a running theme with this 'midnight walk', people seem to be either warped or corrupted by one thing or another and all are sarkik in theme. Or I suppose I should say, 'flesh' in theme, distorted in some form or another. Is this a regular occurrence or is this a new thing?" Sectonia asked.

The Soulfisher stared at her, perplexed. "I'm afraid I can't rightly say. Lots of folks out there are sufferin' in one way or another. I figure, no matter where the Midnight Walk leads you, you'll find folks who need somethin', in some way or another." He gave a thin smile as he looked out over the ruins of Coalhaven. "Ain't that why we wander, after all?"

Sectonia took that as a "no, thats not normal." which meant perhaps either they were just unlucky or something else was at work here. Musings for the group later. She then answered her question with a hesitant "I... suppose." as the Seekers wandered, but out of necessity than choice. Regardless, she then asked a followup question of her own. "So you've walked this trail a few times it seems. Any information on what lies ahead or perhaps areas around here that might be of interest?"

Shivering, her new acquaintance shook his head. "Hoo, boy. It just gets colder and darker from here on in, missie. Worse and worse the closer it gets to Moon Mountain. Better make sure you and your pals got a way to keep warm out there. Keep your friends close. Hold on to whatever li'l spark o' life you got. And whatever you do, don't let the lights go out." The Soulfisher chuckled darkly. "Then again, the dark's a funny thing sometimes. If you're stuck up the creek without a paddle, you could always try beseechin' the dark itself for help." He lifted a burning stick from the little inferno in front of him and help it up like a torch. "...With an offerin' of fire." He stared at Sectonia. "Careful, though. If the dark starts expectin' your offerin's, you better not leave it...wantin'."

"Good to know, although I have a feeling if the dark wants to pick a fight, it might find itself in trouble when it fights darkness darker than dark itself." Sectonia said, holding up a globule of void to make her point. But seeing as she had taken both powerful darkness and powerful light into her, she then gave off a bit of an ethereal glow before going back to normal. "Or the burning radiance of the sun, but I will not blind you with that. Regardless, I do appreciate the warning. Warmth is something we should figure out before we leave town then. I'd rather not freeze on a mountain top... again..." Sectonia said, referring tot he last time she climbed a mountain with the seekers. She then had one final question before she'd just engage with idle storytelling with the Soulfisher. "Do you know of a sword around here? An information broker from a distant land mentioned something about it being around this area."

After a moment, the Soulfisher shook his head. "Nothin' comes to mind. Could be a good deal farther in."

She expected this, but it didn't hurt to ask. Seeing as he was more or less a traveler along this path, Sectonia recalled their story so far in better detail instead of the slight mentions of corrupted flesh they had seen either, although with her own embellishments and denouncements where necessary. The latter more spent towards all the corrupted creatures and flesh they had dealt with, and the former about how she disposed of them.

"Well now, ain't that somethin'," the Soulfisher marveled at Sectonia's tales. "A place where folks kept horrid critters locked up in cages, and ladder tall enough to reach beyond the sky. Maybe I oughta head the way you came, and take a looksie for myself." As he looked up at the dark clouds, a snowflake landed between his shockets. He brushed at the chilly sensation, shivering. "Then again...it's gettin' awful cold out there. If I'm gonna stick around long enough to see the sun come back, maybe I'm better off stayin' right here."

Sectonia nodded, and while she had a personal hatred of the cyborg town out of principle, she did mention that they seemed to be good at fires. Offhandedly mentioning one of the other seekers, Blazermate learning how to make fire from them for whats thats worth.
Roland

Well... It was time for Roland's second round. After seeing his next opponent, Roland didn't know what to think about them. What he could tell off the bat though, was this Dampierre was a con man. Just by the way he moved, the way he acted, it was clear to Roland he was faking everything and that made him dangerous. Well, if he wanted dangerous, the Floor of Literature was really dangerous.

Once the round started, right off the bat Roland learned this guy was someone who liked to be up close and personal. He also learned really quickly that he jabbed at Roland with quick kicks and stabs from hidden blades in his robes along his wrist. Roland had daggers, but he didn't rely on only them, but this man seemed to nearly exclusively rely on them and his own kicks. Roland found this out as he clashed with Dampierre's knives before he followed up those knives by flipping under Roland like a goofball, and taking his opportunity as Roland missed his downward hammer swing to kick Roland into the air and juggle him with kicks.

Round one ended with a Ring out by Dampierre after he used a fiery roundhouse kick to push Roland back, breaking his guard that he had raised with his Lance. These brief flurries though managed to get Roland to emotion level 2 and partway into 3. And this was the floor of Language, which spoke the universal language of violence. His first anomaly page was Fear of Water, a blood crazed vampire saying "Blood… I want vivid blood!", and his second power was The Role of the Wolf, a wolf's voice saying "No one ever wished to get close to the scary wolf…"

Round two started with Dampierre looking at how he was able to outspeed Roland and started to get an inflated head. So much so he went for larger, riskier moves that could knock Roland about and ring him out. However around this point Roland's slowdown from his spirit weakness had expired and his emotion level had gone up enough to start dodging these fast attacks. Fast attacks that Roland learned once dodged would cause Dampierre to fall flat on his ass and get easily one sided countered by Roland's followup attacks. This made getting emotion levels... difficult this round as Roland knocked Dampierre out with a blast from his shotgun after he had done a kick to Roland's jaw and missed, leaving himself open to said blast.

Round 3 started and Dampierre went back to faster, less risky moves starting to take things seriously again. Roland at this point was emotion level 4, getting Riddled Welts, a gruff girl's voice saying "The more scars you get, the stronger your will to survive becomes.", and Laughter, the voices of many corpses saying "All… are smiling… we… are happy…"as well as the EGO Smile and Cobalt Star. That last page spooked Dampierre. Instead of taunting Roland like he had been doing, he said "OK, I thought the first three voices were weird. But what the hell was that?" Not wanting to know what Roland was up to, Dampierre locked in this round countering both EGO pages with a skillful use of his daggers and attacks that would've normally knocked him on his ass, but by countering the EGO attack, would just cause a slight knockback as he clashed. While Cobalt Star and Roland donning what seemed to be a furry costume didn't bother Dampierre much, Smile and its accompanying outfit made of decaying bodies really took Dampierre back. Even though Riddled Welts made Roland stronger as he lost health, through some cunning and intentionally flailing to lure Roland in, only to capitalize with a sidestep, Dampierre got another win via ringout.

Now Round 4, and with it Roland reaching his final emotion level partway through as the two clashed with their blades. Roland getting Goodbye, the voice of a many faced monster saying in a child's voice "Is anyone… nyone… there?! ANYONE THERE!!!" as well as Mimicry. This made Dampierre start to freak out, asking Roland "Are... are you a monster?" with Roland only rolling his shoulders saying "I'm only human." in a confirming voice. He then went in with Mimicry, turning the stage into a breached containment unit with eyes and flesh everywhere, the eyes staring at Dampierre as Roland donned the horrific look of Mimicry and slashed at Dampierre with its scythe arm, a resounding "GoodBYE" coming from Roland, but in a voice of a calm man instead of his own and spoken as if someone who had never spoken before said it. Even while blocking, the chip damage from such a massive attack knocked Dampierre back and nearly off the stage. As he tried to right his balance, Roland knocked him off with a shot from his pistol ending round 4.

Final round, and this one Dampierre was convinced that Roland was some kind of monster playing with his food. But he did start out human... and with that Dampierre got a plan. Roland was fully powered up now and Dampierre had no hope of challenging any of Roland's attacks at this point, especially when Roland said "GoodBYE" at the end of every combo doing insane chip or damage. Nor would he fall for the ringout trick anymore as he'd pepper Dampierre with his guns if given the chance with even the guns getting that "GoodBYE" thing as well! But Dampierre had saved one move, his best move, a move that could make anyone cry if they had even the slightest bit of a heart to them. Making his way close to Roland, Dampierre started his final gambit.

Getting on his knees, he pleaded with Roland to help him. He started to spin a story about his sick daughter, whom he needed money for and who was the reason he was fighting here and tried his best to convince Roland to just walk away. This was when Roland came closer and told Dampierre "Thats just life in the City. It has taken far, far worse from me." and struck Dampierre down with a Furioso, the word "GoodBYE" being said every time Roland swung one of his weapons to finish off Dampierre and the fight with quite a bit of overkill. Roland didn't actually believe Dampierre's story, he had run into people like him in the City many, many times and had grown numb to their tall tales. He had a job to do, and he'd get it done.

With Dampierre on the ground, swirls in his eyes from the massive overkill that was Roland's furioso, Roland moved onto the next round.

Roland was enjoying a bit of a break between his fights. Considering how much he did this sorta thing in the library, it was nice getting an easier deal with it being 1 on 1 instead of large groups. As he was resting, fellow seeker Zenkichi got out of his round of matches and gave Roland a wave. Roland gave him a reciprocal wave, grabbing one of the sports drinks that were offered at the venue to refresh himself. While Zenkichi was talking to a few of the other fighters, Roland kept mostly to himself until he saw

His next opponent was a bit of a goofy one. Honestly, people like him didn't exist where he was. He was a goofy looking guy in a fancy cloak and wearing a crown? No one in the city would dare to wear something like that. And with how polite the guy was acting.. Roland was immediately on edge around him. The arena was also different. Instead of being a wooden plank over a shallow lake, it was set upon a stone pillar that had a bit of a medieval look to it. A lost concept to Roland as there wasn't any place like that in the City, but something that fit his fellow fighter quite a bit.

"I will be taking a bit of a rest. Having to deal with re-entry is not an enjoyable matter." Sectonia said, pulling out some of her beauty products and fixing up herself after all the shenanigans that happened up on that space station. She'd offer the same to the others if they wanted to get all fixed up. When it came to the whole Adam/Eve thing and what they were doing... Well Sectonia was a bit more preoccupied with fixing her fluff than dealing with whatever drama was going on over there. That was their drama, not hers. Blazermate meanwhile was doing what she normally did and heal everyone.
Vs Juggernaut, Skullhead Honcho

Heismay, Geralt’s @MULTI_MEDIA_MAN Roxas’ @Double Blazermate’s @Archmage MC Mokou’s @Goggy
Word Count: 3434 (+4)

Mokou's posture doesn’t change, not from the sight of the Juggernaut and not from the beast coming up from behind. In fact, she simply tilted her head, glancing to the others before she began to walk forward, a single hand leaving her pockets that quickly became engulfed in flames. She could focus on the message that had been played to them later… As soon as the rest weren’t at risk of getting killed. Swinging her flaming hand, a massive wave of feathers appeared in the air before launching themselves forward in Mokou’s signature torrent of flame.

By now, Heismay knew to expect a firestorm like this from Mokou, so rather than recklessly charge into the fray he circled around to the side, trying his best to shut out the sounds of clashing metal and gunfire from the pitched battle against Belial somewhere behind him. He’d only barely managed to catch his breath from the brawl with the Skullheads, so hopefully those dregs lurking around the sector’s edges kept their distance and didn’t make this any harder than it needed to be. Vile though it was, this Juggernaut seemed no more than a brute, roughly eight feet tall and perhaps half a ton in weight. No matter how strong the enemy, it couldn’t kill him if it couldn’t hit him.

Within seconds, the Juggernaut was hidden behind Mokou’s fiery feather-wall. Too big to make use of the scant openings within the barrage, it had no choice but to plow through, its heavy hammer raised to mitigate what it could. After a moment, the Naytiba whirled around, the sheer volume of displaced air blowing back some of the flame. For a brief moment, Heismay could see through the shimmering heatwave that even more flame poured from some kind of mechanism in the hammer’s head. Then the Juggernaut hurled the hammer, which flew through the air like a massive boomerang. Taken by surprise, Heismay only barely dodged away from the bludgeon in flight, which somehow circled around and back toward the Juggernaut. When the monster seized its weapon, it turned the momentum into a massive overhead smash aimed at as many Seekers as possible.

Geralt had gone around the side opposite Heismay, attempting to force the massive Naytiba to split its attention, and withdrew the Hateful Flesh from within his body, a light spray of blood heralding the weapon's arrival. Following up with Quen to shield himself, he was as taken aback by the Juggernaut's hammer flying around like a boomerang, and its curved trajectory brought it around to him as well. He dropped to the floor, the colossal weapon flying over him harmlessly, but this left him unable to capitalize on the overcommitted slam attack as he rose. The hammer crashed into the ground with a thunderous crash. As Geralt charged in to attack, Juggernaut lifted his hammer, turning to the Witcher. It positioned its hammer behind it, leaving itself wide open. Geralt stepped in, swinging his weapon in anticipation of the incoming attack, which the Naytiba launched like a missile. Cleaver met haft as Geralt's last-second movement threw off Juggernaut's aim, the clang of metal on metal filling the hall around them as Geralt was launched backwards, rolling to his feet in a move practiced after being tossed head over heels by many massive foes in his decades of hunting. “Faster than he looks on the swing.” Geralt grunted out.

While the Juggernaut was distracted, Heismay swooped in to jump onto its back. He made two immediate discoveries: that he couldn’t keep hold of the fast-moving brute unless he grabbed one of its golden masks with one hand, and that the giant Skullings’ tentacles reacted to his presence. He hacked at them as best he could, his efforts ineffective until he let go with his other hand, sliced off one tentacle near the root with a two-handed slash as he fell away. He dropped down at the feet of the Juggernaut, which was too close for the Naytiba to swing at him, so it went for a stomp instead. Heismay scooted backward as fast as he could, but the monster’s boot still caught the tip of his wing. “Agh!” With its target pinned down, the Juggernaut raised its hammer like a golfer, the built-in thruster igniting.

As soon as the Juggernaut’s hammer reached its peak, a loud explosion of flame erupted from the side as Mokou slammed foot first into the weapon. While she herself was small, the sheer force of her attack knocked the hammer to the side… Especially with the added explosion that burst forth from the phoenix’s foot. That sideswipe diverted the hammer smash, resulting in a severe whiff and overswing that left the Juggernaut wide open. Using that momentum, Mokou flipped back in the air, snapping her fingers to send a direct stream of fire towards the Naytiba’s head. Geralt followed suit, closing the last of the distance between them and landing a couple of swipes with his cleaver.

Similar to Heismay, Roxas had also elected not to immediately charge at the Juggernaut so as not to get tagged by any of Mokou’s feathers. So after a quick split second of thought he decided his opening moves and started making them. Rather than attacking Juggernaut for now, the Nobody instead used flow motion to maneuver himself around his fellow Seekers and casting Tailwind on them all, providing a small but still noticeable speed buff that would carry them through the rest of the battle.

”Wind!” came Roxas’ next spell as he then began to apply Aerogas to himself and the other Seekers to give them 18 seconds of all damage against them being reduced by half thanks to the shields of whirling wind that surrounded their individual bodies. Only then did Roxas disappear from sight only to reappear behind the Juggernaut to slash at its back with his StepSword, immediately trying to follow that with a flurry of Keyblade strikes across the Naytiba’s back.

Blazermate also stayed back, but this was more because this is what she mostly did in fights than anything. As Mokou opened up, Blazermate summoned her engineer striker to begin his sentry construction to offer some support damage and coverage. She’d then attach her healing beam to people and throw the occasional divine star at the Juggernaut, letting its residual healing wash over people as it came back in a wave. She’d keep her other abilities in reserve for now as her allies pummeled this thing. Once Heismay got into a bit of trouble, while Mokou tried to stop the creature’s hammer hitting Heismay, Blazermate used her Leap of Faith to not only pull Heismay back to her, but also stand him upright.

When Mokou destabilized her target, it had been forced to shift its footing to keep its balance, which allowed Heismay to slip free. He would have easily been able to zip to safety on his own thanks to the Tailwind buff from Roxas, but Blazermate’s Leap of Faith made it a non-issue. He slid to a stop on his feet, which was a weird experience, but the battle-hardened shadowguard composed himself quickly. “My thanks.”

At the same time, the Juggernaut was on the move. Mokou’s flame torrent left the cephalopod flesh of the fused Skullings on its head sizzling, like hibachi octopus fresh off the grill, but the phoenix had a lot more meat and masks to burn through before she’d bring this thing down. The Juggernaut responded to Roxas first: not at all staggered by his melee attacks, it released its hammer with one hand in order to whip around with a punishing backfist, hard enough to dislocate bone. Then it whirled its hammer around its head with one hand in a middle grip, grabbed it with the other midway through, and launched a stronger, longer-range spin strike to rebuff all foes in melee range.

”Refl-ACK!” Roxas had tried to chant his spell but was too slow on the draw and got swatted away by the hammer for his trouble. Luckily for him he had an Aeroga spell up already or that would have been a lot worse.

From afar, Heismay assumed his Assassin archetype and took aim. It seemed like not even Geralt could comfortably go toe-to-toe with this thing in close quarters, so the five of them would probably have to wear it down while passing its enmity around like a ball. He unleashed a Mudo that flew toward the Juggernaut and splashed against its side in a burst of dark magic, though even that direct impact didn’t seem to faze it much. As Heismay moved in, the Naytiba wound up and hurled its hammer again, which kicked up sparks where it grazed the floor as it circled around the arena, threatening the fliers.

Blazermate, seeing its new attack, decided to give people time to prepare for it and maybe help cause more damage herself. As it started to hurl its hammer, Blazermate hit it with Disruption, banishing it as the sparks started to come from its hammer and interrupting its attack for a short time. Once it reappeared, it appeared with 2 additional illusions of itself that started to pummel it with their own hammers.

Mokou herself simply glanced at the incoming hammer, nary a change in her expression as she flipped over the spinning weapon, waving a hand to form a few larger feathers that shot forth towards the Juggernaut.

Geralt leapt backwards as the Juggernaut began its circling sweep attack, then had to repeat the action when it followed with a second sweep, this one just a bit wider in range. He could swap Identities to keep up the damage, but that risked leaving Roxas and Heismay as the only close-range fighters. Mokou and Blazermate were more than enough to chip away at this thing while the three of them balanced its attention and jumped in for hit-and-run attacks.

Though taken aback by the circumstances it returned to after its momentary banishment, the Juggernaut reacted quickly. After taking a few hits from Heismay, Geralt, and its doppelgangers, backstepped its illusions’ hammer swings, then grabbed their heads and slammed them together. The magical copies fell apart, crumbling, but any semblance of time the Juggernaut might have bought itself melted away as Mokou’s pinions pelted its body.

Even those big feathers had less effect than the phoenix might have hoped, though, and the team soon realized the reason why. Once the Juggernaut raised its hand, the Wolf Sledge flew into it, and when the Naytiba roared, flames engulfed the giant hammer.

As the blazing firelight illuminated the dark sector, Heismay felt the heat on his furry face. “Hmph!” he snorted. “Don’t tell me fire is its element?” At least it wasn’t lightning, so Heismay himself wouldn’t take extra damage. Then again, he probably couldn’t afford to take a hit from it, period. “No matter. We fight on!”

The Juggernaut reignited the battle by slamming the Wolf Sledge against the ground repeatedly. Each mighty impact sent forth a fiery wave of explosions along the floor. The first went for Geralt, and the second for Heismay, who leaped away, using the surge of hot air to take wing and glide. Mokou and Blazermate had the good fortune of countering the ground blasts by default, but another blast wave did level the medabot’s turret.

Heismay glided over the chaos using his arm-wings, his sword sheathed. He felt rather useless in this fight so far, spending most of the time dodging while being unable to do significant damage. At least now he could attack from a direction the Juggernaut didn’t expect. He banked around toward the monster, then reached back to unsheath his longsaber as he dropped. In mid-air, he became the Assassin to add extra bite to his Lurking Nightblade. “Wither!” The shadowy slash fall across the back of the Juggernaut’s dominant arm, its middling damage perhaps less important than the thirty-second accuracy debuff it inflicted. If the Naytiba couldn’t hit them, the Seekers could whale on it with impunity.

[color=gold]”Ugh… someone get the license plate number on that hammer?”[/gold] Roxas muttered miserably to himself as he recovered from having the wind thoroughly knocked out of him. He had previously tried to cast his Reflectga spell but was clearly not quick enough. He shook it off. It felt like some of the damage had been healed away at least. Roxas probably had Blazermate and her heal beam to thank for that. But now the question was what to actually do. Attacking directly was obviously not the best choice. For now he supposed he would stick to running support until a better opportunity came along.

”Turbo!” Roxas called, releasing the Revavroom from her Poke Ball. She revved up eagerly as Roxas hopped onto her back and pointed at the Juggernaut, ”Help me support our friends. Get us closer and use Screech!” The Revavroom gassed her engines in acknowledgement before she took off with her Trainer riding on her back. Turbo got a bit closer to Juggernaut but was careful not to get too close per Roxas’ instructions. Then she really revved her engines until it produced an ear-splitting racket that could harshly lower the Defense of the Naytiba and hopefully make it more vulnerable to a heavier hitting Seeker. Roxas also decided to keep an eye on his allies and renew them with a fresh Aeroga spell if needed.

Geralt followed Roxas’s lead, releasing Tirn from his own ball. “Tirn! Metal Sound! Make it vulnerable.” The Shieldon let out a tiny roar before planting its feet and letting out a much harsher whining drone, aimed directly at the Juggernaut. While he did, Geralt called out to the others, “Get its attention, keep it off me!” As he raised the Hateful Flesh and began channeling Holy Lance. “Light of the Heavens, Pierce my foes!”

While the others called for reinforcements, Heismay kept the Juggernaut’s attention, dodging this way and that. His target’s accuracy debuff made evasion a little easier, but still the eugief’s heart pounded like crazy. Any hammer smash could be his last, after all, and he was low on MP. He continued to land what slices and slashes he could on the Juggernaut’s legs to make sure it tuned out the noise from the Pokemon, but he was looking for a way out until Geralt called out for assistance. When he heard that, his plan changed. “Understood!” He became the Assassin, saying, “O, power of kings!” As his enemy’s hammer descended, darted backward, then forward to use the burning weapon as a springboard. Bounding up, he grabbed hold of a golden mask and cast Plunder Magic to steal the Juggernaut’s essence and convert it to MP. It didn’t do any damage, but it did make the Juggernaut mad, mad enough to seize Heismay with his offhand and hurl him straight into the ground.

As soon as Heismay was thrown, a massive ball of fire flew straight into the Juggernaut’s head. While the fire itself did not do much, the sheer force was able to stagger them slightly… Which was just enough time for Mokou to launch herself in, slamming her open palm into the Naytiba’s head. A brief moment paces, but shortly after, a massive explosion emanates from Mokou’s hand, launching both her and the Juggernaut away… With the phoenix now missing an arm from the sheer force of her attack, albeit not seeming to give it much mind as she launched another stream of feathers to keep the beast on the backfoot.

For his part, it didn’t take Roxas long to see what Geralt was doing and to recognize the spell he was channeling. ”Keep circling and using Screech, Turbo!” Roxas instructed his Revavroom before dismounting the Pokemon by launching himself off of her body and toward where Geralt was standing. He still had a small portion of MP left that he had previously been saving in case someone needed an emergency heal. Now it was about to be used for another purpose.

Blazermate, having been doing her healing duties as people had been getting smacked around by that giant hammer as her defensive abilities were on cooldown saw Roxas and Geralt seemingly doing some sort of team move. Well, she did have a Kritz, and this group didn’t have a single super heavy hitting move, so maybe kritzing these guys would do some good damage. Although being a team move, Blazermate would need to swap between who was attacking at the time with her Kritz, so she wouldn’t have much kritz to use after the move was over. Considering all the light and such used from this move, the blue electric highlights really made things look anime though.

”Light!” When the sensation of Roxas’s power suffused his spell, Geralt smirked, remembering the last time they combined power like this: against Moebius D. While it wasn’t enough to slay their foe then, and likely wouldn’t be now, it would certainly hurt. Roxas once again teleported above their enemy hovering just over the lance that hovered above the Juggernaut like a Sword of Damocles, and as it descended he added his own beam from his Keyblade into the attack, further increasing its devastation.

Propelled in a streak of light from the keyblade, the radiant spear pierced through the burned and bewildered Juggernaut through the head, tunneled through its bloated body, and blasted back out into the floor. Taken to even greater heights by Blazermate’s Kritzkrieg, the Limit Break then blazed through the Juggernaut from the inside out. Rays of light rapidly blasted out of its stricken husk, perforating it like a pincushion, before the lance’s final detonation virtually vaporized it. Scorched chunks flew in all directions as the Juggernaut ceased to be.

Still on the floor a short distance away, Heismay had been forced to shield his eyes with his wing as the light flared wildly. Even with his gaze averted, the violent and climactic end to the fight left him speechless as he stared at the smoking crater where the Juggernaut had been. “Good lord…” he chuckled breathlessly, his shocked expression plainly visible to his new allies. Even Mokou, who’d blown up her own arm to set the Naytiba up for the finale, got her share of astonishment. “...Who are you people?”

Geralt looked at the smoldering remains of where Juggernaut had been, his own face betraying his surprise. “I wonder that myself, sometimes. This was just…a lucky assortment of us empowering one another.”

”We totally need to drop something like that on a consul or something.” Blazermate said, moving her healing beam over to heal others as the fight was over and her ubercharge spent from the attack.

Mokou’s response to the Juggernaut’s death was a simple, weary sigh, the white haired girl glancing down at her now missing limb, ”Well, I’m simply an immortal who has taken an interest in this whole duty you’ve all started. A bit more fun so far than fighting random beasts, I’ll admit” she states as Blazermate’s medibeam moves over to her, the healing properties of the beam along with Mokou’s own nature causing a new arm to, quite literally, burn into existence, her shirt seemingly reforming around it as per usual.

”Hehe, yeah. About that…” Roxas said, having landed back on the ground safely and recalling Turbo back to her Poke Ball. ”We kinda did use that on a consul. D, back in the Dead Zone. It wasn’t enough to take him down, though. But I guess to be fair we weren’t being buffed by Blazermate’s kritz at the time.”

Geralt nodded, face curling a bit in frustration at the mention of D. “Whoreson’ll get what’s coming to him, though. And if we line it up, right, we might just be able to do something like that again to put him down for good.” He called Tirn back over, giving the Shieldon a pat on the head before returning him to his ball as well.

Taking a deep breath, Heismay slowly picked himself up. Now that the adrenaline was wearing off, he could really begin to feel just how sore and tired he was. “Oof…after today, I ought to be put down for good myself.” He looked back toward Sector 3, where the sounds of battle could still be heard. “Let us check on the others. Then get out of here.”

When the group got to their next location and were looking at how they'd progress, Sandalphon had some plan of going through things. Being one of the few people with access to fire, She recommended Sectonia help burn them a path with Mokou. and while Sectonia would be totally fine removing this blight from their path, when there was a mention of wanting to look at what was up the elevator and what loot their could potentially be. Speaking of, she had crushed and stored the item of the guardian her, Blazermate and Mokou killed.

When Sandalphon recommended that she could teleport back to the group, Sectonia offered her own services to dealing with what was up at the top. "Once you are back with the group, you can also summon me by calling me forth. So I can escort you up there as well." Sectonia offered. But before that she had to help clear all that infection, and while her fire power weren't nearly as strong as Mokous, she could summon her red antlers to help clear the path with their flamethrowers while Sectonia herself threw her rings of light to try to clear sections and cause a bit of chaos with the stuff holding out in the area.

Blazermate meanwhile was on healing duty like always, deploying her projectile shield to help them push and using divine stars to heal the group as a whole from time to time.

Roland

Level 7 Roland (69/70)
Location: Eseka
Word Count: Less than 750

Roland made his way to the pool matches. He figured it would be some arena, but once he got to the location of the fight, he found it was some... nondescript platform hovering above an empty landscape? Well, it wasn't a major tournament match, so that made sense. But this was really low tech even for a tournament. With his opponent already there, Roland was ready for his fight. He was used to fighting martial artists, so this shouldn't be too bad once he got the flow of things.

As the fight started, Roland's floor was chosen. This time it was the floor of Natural Sciences and this would be quite the interesting floor to roll for such a fight. As the fight started and both fighters got into range, Roland started with a quick bash from his mace, which was overpowered by Jeffry's grab game, Jeffery deflecting the mace hit and throwing Roland away. So Jeffery was a grappler, Roland knew how to fight these as many in the Middle were also grapplers, and with that clash loss, Roland reached emotion level 1 and gained Hate, a girls voice saying "I hate a peaceful world… It’s like… It’s like I’m not needed anymore…".

Keeping his pressure, Jeffery, moved in to follow up on Roland recovering, Roland using his daggers and gauntlets to out agile his opponent. This failed due to one of his spirits slowing him down at the start of fights, causing him to get grabbed and slammed once again. From the ground, Roland swiped at Jeffery with his hammer, causing him to fall down and letting Roland get back up. With this Roland hit emotion level 2, gaining Despair, a deeper woman's voice saying "I swore to protect, yet I lost them again…".

This continued for a bit more, Roland gaining and losing clashes and Jeffery slamming him down or getting hit himself, but eventually as Roland hit emotion level 3 gaining Greed, a sultry woman's voice saying "Nothing was left in my wake. Only visceral greed remained." and partway into 4, Jeffery had managed to do enough damage to win Round 1. Roland then learned that his emotion levels didn't reset within the tournament as Round 2 started and Jeffery had gained some leeway into the match, using Roland's own Hate and Greed to heal or punish Roland a bit more than he normally could. But once Roland had clashed with his greatsword, winning the clash and gaining emotion level 4, the match started to turn around. Roland gained Wrath, an angry woman, almost monsterous voice saying "SINNERS OF THE OTHERWORLDS!!! EMBODIMENTS OF EVIL!!!", and he gained a massive boost in power. Normally the downside of Wrath would be blinding Roland to friends and foes alike, but with there being only a single target for his wrath, there was no downside. He had also managed to gain the EGO Gold Rush and Blind Rage during this time.

Round 2 Jeffery had managed to barely eek out a win by having a smidge more health than Roland as the timer ticked down by managing to get Roland to stagger off one of his throws ad follow up on it. However once Roland hit emotion level 4 and his slow start debuff had expired, he found that his grabs weren't doing much of anything anymore. Roland had refrained from using his ranged options for the time, which would've made the fight much easier, in order to gain emotion levels against Jeffery faster. And once round 3 happened and Roland unleashed a wave of acid from Blind Rage, He was on the backfoot. While he tried to continue his grapples on Roland, Roland had gotten faster and could poke in and out, dodging his grabs with relative ease with his longer ranged melee attacks like his lance and swords. And once Roland hit Emotion level 5, it was over for Jeffery. Once Roland hit emotion level 5, he grabbed Nix, and as the echoy voice of the Jester of Nihil came from him saying "Leading the way through foolishness, there’s not a thing to guide me." and him gaining the Ego In the name of Love and Hate, Roland radiated an aura of pure corroding darkness. This aura greatly weakened Jeffery, slowed him down, and more or less made him too slow to ever touch and too weak to counter any of Roland's moves again.

After Roland had gained Nix, things weren't all that eventful. Jeffery having slow movement to start with was just too slow to catch the now amped up Roland who was doing even more damage with all the downsides of his previous emotion powers removed and the power of Nix weakening Jeffery in strength, defense, and speed making rounds 3, 4, and 5 far easier. With rounds 4 and 5 being flawless victories for Roland as Nix was active at the start of said rounds.

Sectonia, being the one of the group with lots of summonable minions, decided that she'd help with moving all the debris in the way of the stagecoach as it was being repaired by Edward. She could summon all her Antlers given enough time, and with their size and strength, move all the piled up vehicles and debris in a fairly decent timeframe. What they couldn't push or carry out, they could smash into smaller bits to carry off and even if anything was explosive that went off, Sectonia could just summon more. Such is what a Queen does after all.

Blazermate, decided to give the little training thing a go. Maybe it'd have something that could help? With the others doing their things it wouldn't hurt to give it a look right? Once Blazermate got to the training simulation, she found pretty quick that it was something about... border crossing? She got a manual to read, and after that was given a challenge with some Strange Potato looking guy who gave her a weird looking, handcrafted passport thing. She had to look at her training manual, but she was pretty sure this guy wasn't supposed to pass with whatever this simulation was and Blazermate denied him. After a few moments a hat dropped from above landing on her head, it said "Arstotska #1" with its primary colors being red and gold.

The second one was a lot trickier, and while Blazermate was a robot, she didn't really think like one. She figured Ram would probably have an easier time with this part, as a diplomatic looking lady stepped up to the booth. The sheer amount of paperwork for this lady was a lot more than the first guy, and Blazermate looked it over. Everything looked fine and she passed her, but after a few seconds instead of getting her second reward, instead a pink slip appeared telling her that she did the wrong thing and what was wrong. Apparently the name of the country she was from wasn't part of the accepted list because it was misspelled. With that, the simulation started over, this time with new people.

This time Blazermate, being really annoyed at a spelling error stopping her last run, acted much more bored and apathetic. The first guy, like the last time, was easy. This time it was "no one with this passport" gets to pass, which meant the inverse was also true, and was an easy pass. The second person this time looked like a middle aged man who, unlike the first time she was at this point. And unlike the first time, she didn't get tripped up with the country thing or misspellings. Something that still made her very mad since they pulled the same trick here, but this time with sirname. For clearing this one, Blazermate got some "Mineral Rich Spring Water" which stated it "had minor healing properties." Another meh reward, but this wasn't that long or difficult so far so she went for the third one.

On the third one, this was probably something that'd get someone with a bleeding heart and who wasn't frustrated nor in 'robot' mode as this one was a mother that, through some missing paperwork, was to be denied and did what they could to plead to Blazermate to let them through. Something that, well, Blazermate didn't have the time for as she knew this was a simulation anyway and she didn't want to get the third thing wrong. But she'd remember whatever ran this place tried to pull this trick, if anything. With her stamping the denial quick to not hear all the pleading from the woman, the third and final reward dropped, a Piece of Heart. This was an item Blazermate had seen before, but she knew having just one of them wasn't all that useful. Oh well, something to put on the Avenger. Blazermate left the simulator a bit annoyed at how it handled things.

"I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to find out whoever put that hit out on us. I'll let you know what I find out between tournaments. I suppose I'll have to try though, if fighting is going to be my only income..." Roland said, hoping things would be easy. Regardless, as he was in a tournament with only one other seeker, things should be fine. Although he knew nothing about this Tekken tournament besides the basics. Still, he'd much like the others, look at his opponent in the standings.

"Huh... Good thing I applied with my mask off. I doubted anyone would even know what the "Black Silence" is. If they do uh, we might have bigger problems." Roland said. It felt weird using his color name, but hey, might as well flex while he can. His opponent was apparently some fisherman? He knew a fisherman fixer, but this was not him. "It feels weird fighting with my mask off in such a public place, but I guess thats what I've gotta do here. Might make my investigation a lot easier though." Roland said, knowing that his mask would come in handy to dig for information and keep him safe from people figuring out that Roland the fighter was investigating a big corporation from said corporation. It'd be even funnier if he could get sponsored by G corp while looking to destroy them.

Sectonia was looking for someone to crush the spirit of the guardian they had defeated in the operations room, but that would have to wait until they reached their next destination as many of their stagecoach pullers had perished. Speaking of getting to that next destination, it relied on something called a hypertube, something Sectonia wasn't familiar with. She had technology, but it wasn't at this level. She looked at Blazermate to see if she knew anything about this, but the Medabot looked just as confused as to what she was seeing.

A bit of an explanation later, Sectonia decided to be one of those in the stagecoach. Mostly because she'd prefer not to be rocketed by her crown and sword through the tube. Blazermate meanwhile went with whoever was going before the carriage to heal them, her metal body able to be propelled through the tube.

Going through the tube itself, Blazermate would find she was surprisingly one of the better of the group to be outside the stagecoach as the various abilities and powers she had gained through their journey came in handy here. Short of a direct hit from all the projectiles littering the tube, she could successfully deflect them and take no damage. What damage she did take she could heal herself, or use her projectile shield to protect the stagecoach from the debris for a time. Although her own projectile attacks didn't really help so there wasn't much healing outside of her own healing beam.

Sectonia meanwhile, while inside the stagecoach, could still support those outside with her magic. A chaos shield would help whoever was taking the vast majority of damage to defend the stagecoach which seemed to be Blazermate at times. Although she couldn't do much outside of that or healing anyone who got close with a death pulse with her fast projectiles being deflected and her larger projectiles being too slow.

Roland spent the rest of the night at another motel in the lower tiers much like the rest of the group. He kept his mask on to evade whatever threat there might be, and while he didn't sleep comfortably, he managed to get some shut eye. Awoken by commotion on the linkpearl, Roland got up, got ready, and made his way to the spot Band offered them all to meet up to see who survived. Well, as he was making his way there, that would be clarified as everyone but Ms. Fortune. He didn't seem to be that worried about her, so Roland took his word for her surviving as well and met the other seekers at Quick Rise.

Roland was concerned with who orchestrated the attack the past night as Jr. and Rika came up with some vague mission information. Roland listened to what they said, but knowing the least out of the seekers not encountered here at Eseka, there weren't a whole lot of conclusions he could come up with. But he did get the jist of some of it. "So... First we've gotta find a special sword. Of course its a sword. As for the other thing, the world runs in cycles. That sounds familiar..." Roland said. He then grabbed his food and informed the two on what they missed. "Many of us have signed up for tournaments. This region's Guardian is split into 4, the Heavenly Kings, who each run a tournament. We'll know our placements and brackets in like an hour or so. Also someone apparently tried blowing someone up last night, although i'm not sure who."

Speaking of that, Roland turned to Big Band and Zenkichi. "I don't know about you two, but I want to find out who tried to blow us up last night. You don't take a swing at a fixer and just get away with it unless your cunning, powerful, or sneaky enough. And considering their logo was on their helicopters, we know where to look. Something called G corp. And I'm thankful its not the G corp i know. Otherwise it would've been more... impactful" Roland said, trying to give a bit of an insightful pun for something no one here would understand, with his version of G corp being able to freely control Gravity.

Sectonia wasn't a fan of most of the spirit drops obtained from the abominations they had fought. As such she didn't lay claim to any of them. Blazermate wasn't a fan of the biological tech either, as it didn't seem any of it helped her heal or buff anyone. With the Avenger though, she could possibly claim something from the armory later. Seeing as how Ganondorf was some organic creature now, perhaps he'd get some good use out of all of this. Regardless, as the the group entered what seemed like a massive complex and cleared it out, they came across a giant door with 3 locks they had to unlock. Sandalphon assigned roles, and sent the fliers, Mokou, Blazermate, and Sectonia, to the only spot the others couldn't reach easily, the Operations center.

Sandalphon did know how to split people up properly, Sectonia thought, as she would've suggested the same. Granted she would've preferred a melee combatant to go with them to take whatever disgusting attacks would be headed their way with all the biomass everywhere. And as the three fliers entered the Operations center, it was clearly infested by tons and tons of biomass with its own little guard. It was similar to the other things Sectonia thought, but it looked clearly stronger. Regardless, the three of them had to clear the area and figure out how to open said lock.

The guard itself wielding a spiked gun was at attention, but wasn’t attacking the newcomers right away as they were apparently not in the area it was guarding. However behind said guard was a lit up console that was perhaps the thing the group had to get to in order to accomplish their little task here. And it wouldn’t take much to get Sectonia up and ready to cleanse the biomass infested area. In fact the area was so full of biomass that if it wasn’t for the fact the three of them could fly there wouldn’t be an area free of it to stand on and it looked disgusting to touch.

Mokou herself simply flew along with Sectonia and Blazermate, her hands in her pockets as per usual and a frown on her face as she took in the infected area, “Quite the work this place is” she commented, taking a hand out to rub the back of her head before glancing over at the other two, “So, our goal is that panel the big guy is guarding, right? If that’s the case, I doubt he’s gonna let us float right in. So-” the hand that was rubbing her head was extended, a ball of fire quickly forming in her open palm, “I suggest a bit of cleansing. In agreement?”

”I’d call it more… purging. This area is disgusting and needs to go. So yes. ” Sectonia said, very on board with Mokou’s idea. Sectonia herself had some fire as well, but it wasn’t nearly at the level of mastery of Mokou. Regardless, Sectonia summoned her red antlers to begin the assault on the room, with Blazermate rolling her eyes and overhealing the two to start as the guard itself got into action as these newcomers opened fire.

Immediately this guard showed why he was stationed alone, as he was more agile than the things below. His gun was also a lot better, and had a much better fire rate launching piercing projectiles. He also threw a pustule that started to tick near the trio that had wiggling tentacles coming out of it ready to grab them.

Blazermate was a bit happy to see someone using a gun finally as she hid behind Sectonia’s bulk and used the healing she gave her to charge up her projectile shield. She’d save her other abilities in case they would be needed soon. Sectonia meanwhile hated having to be the center of attention with such a disgusting creature, but she sent in her Antlers while firing off flying swords from different angles at the Nidus.

As soon as the first bullets flew, Mokou was already moving, flaming feathers quickly forming in the air before firing down in a rain of fire. Mokou herself did not seem too phased by the piercing projectiles that flew towards her, her flying completely casual as she weaved through the gaps in the bullet’s paths. Even the pustule that was thrown at her failed to achieve anything of note, the tentacle just barely missing its mark before Mokou simply launches a stream of fire at the center, incinerating it in one go.

Once that was out of the way, Mokou raised her hand in the air, a red glow forming around her entire body as a massive number of feathers of different sizes formed in the air, taking a single moment to aim themselves before they launched forward, pelting the area below with a torrent of her own projectiles.

While Mokou and Blazermate were able to avoid the pustule grenade, both being either small or far enough away from it when it detonated, Sectonia due to her size and closeness was hit by it. It didn’t do much damage, but instead pulled her towards it as well as her Antlers whom were busy torching the ground of all of its biomass. With a group being pulled, they then conjured a bit of biomass and spread it around the ground, damaging and popping the Antlers who couldn’t fly, but not doing anything to Sectonia as she hovered above it even if pulled. Granted with Mokou also shooting fire in the area, this lead to a bit of friendly fire. At least Blazermate was keeping Sectonia healthy and she had no weakness against fire anymore.

This improved the guard’s gun though as it seemed the more hits they did with their abilities or normal shots, the better their main damage in the form of their spear rifle got. But thanks to all the constant damage Sectonia had been taking, Blazermate was able to use her projectile shield to block the next round of buffed projectiles headed towards the massive bee queen.

So instead of focusing on what was clearly a shielded easy to hit target, Nidus instead focused on Mokou, pointing at her and making some sort of parasitic link with her. While this did no damage initially, as Sectonia zapped Mokou from behind Blazermate’s shield with her dark lightning, a part of that damage was transferred to Mokou instead quickly burning through her overheal.

This made Blazermate swap targets, shielding Sectonia with her shield, but putting her beam on Mokou while firing a divine star at her to heal her with a bit of burst healing. She had a few ways of getting rid of this debuff, but she’d watch to see what Mokou did first.

“Oho, a lifelink huh?” Mokou grins at the link that Nidus placed upon her, wisps of embers forming around her in quick succession, “Alright then, let’s see how much life that can handle!”

With a furious boom, Mokou rockets forward, becoming a flaming comet as she practically slams into the area around Nidus, detonating in a massive burst of flame that sends the guard flying away. Ordinarily, this would have obliterated Mokou as well, but thanks to Blazermate’s shield, the phoenix actually managed to survive her own attack, rising to her feet in the midst of her fiery crater.

This gave Blazermate a bit of a heart attack, well, what the equivalent of one would be for a medabot with Mokou just seemingly going kamikaze and only surviving thanks to the overheal. While this also did a lot to the Nidus and the surrounding area, Nidus noticed that one of his opponents was low and decided to use what he had built up thanks to all the extra damage his lifelink caused to use his ultimate. With a raise of his hand, massive maggots came from the walls of biomass that hadn’t been incinerated and made their way towards the trio to devour them, or explode on them, it wasn’t clear with how they were charging and pulsing.

Blazermate saw this big attack coming and pulled Mokou to herself with Leap of Faith, getting next to Sectonia, and as the bee queen was throwing out rays of light to try to smite these giant maggots, Blazermate cast Holy Word:Salvation with the words ”We Stand together as one!” conjuring a holy dome around herself enveloping Sectonia and Mokou, healing them for 30% of their health and making them immune to damage for a few seconds as they stood in the dome. The maggots collided with them, dealing no damage and after a couple of bites, they exploded. This still did no damage, but knocked the three of them away from their position into different parts of the room.

As Nidus did no damage to any of them, he didn’t get the massive amount of healing he was expecting. To make things worse for him, Blazermate zoomed up behind him and as he trained his gun on her, she used Disruption to place him into a black void for a few seconds as the other two girls righted themselves and got ready to attack.

Truthfully, the phoenix had no reason to dodge the incoming attack. With how much damage she had sustained, a light breeze would’ve been enough to finish her first life off… And even if she was on her last legs, she wouldn’t fret about ‘dying’ properly in the first place. Yet she didn’t complain when Blazermate pulled her back and protected her with a dome of light. The end result, combined with Blazermate banishing Nidus for a few moments, caused the white haired girl to whistle in satisfaction, “Nice work” she called out to the medabot before snapping her fingers, a ring of feathers forming in a circle around the spot where Nidus had been sent to, aligning themselves to launch forth as soon as Nidus reappeared.

Sectonia followed suit after flipping in the air to right herself by conjuring a set of swords out of the ground the Nidus would appear in. And as he appeared, two illusions of him also appeared that attacked him alongside the feather nova and him appearing right into a field of sword spikes dealing a large amount of damage all at once to the already low health bio warrior. And when the inferno caused by Mokou disappeared, all that was left was a spirit for them to collect.

With the guard disposed of, the trio could finally examine the panel. Sectonia wasn’t really one for computers, but she had an idea of what to do. Blazermate, being a robot, would be assumed to be good at technology, but she was hesitant to touch the panel.

Mokou shakes her hand, a small bunch of embers flickering off of her as she walks over to the spirit, letting it rest in her hand as she placed the other into her pocket, “Well, looks like our job here is done. Figure someone might want this, so I’ll bring it back to the stagecoach, if you two want to handle the panel there” the phoenix states, gesturing her head towards the panel as she slowly floats into the air, prepared to make her leave as soon as their job was finished.

Sectonia likewise pushed Blazermate forward to mess with the panel. At first the medabot was a bit uneasy about touching the thing, but as she messed with it, she found it was just a game of pipe and was an easy video game to solve. And once she did, everyone heard the sound of a big lock shifting. Swiping up the fallen spirit, Blazermate happily gestured to the other two to go look at the door, happy she managed to hack something.

Level 7 Roland (66/70)
Location: Eseka
Word Count: Less than 750

Roland was back to his uneasy sleep, as without Grim to burn his nightmares, they came back. But tonight he'd have some reprieve from then, with a living one. While he slept and was in the middle of reliving a part of the Smoke War, an explosion happened. He thought at first it might be part of his dream, but then he felt the force of the explosion which jolted the fixer awake. "What in the..." Roland put on his mask and as he looked out of his room he saw a bulky robot running down the hallway. At first it wasn't really focused, but once it saw Roland, it decided to attack him. As Roland had kept his mask on all day, he doubted it was coming after him specifically but still, that meant that it was attacking people indiscriminately and his mask wouldn't stop the robot from targeting him if that was the case. And that was indeed the case as the robot came for him.

Engaging in a fight, Roland rolled the Keter floor as he intercepted the robot's shoulder charge with his own hammer attack. He managed to deflect some of the damage, but this thing still hit pretty hard. Not as had as a Rhino, but still pretty hard. With that, his emotion level increased to 1, and he gained Pulsation, the voice of a heartbeat saying "Overwhelming aspiration is what leads to wrongful frenzy.", with Roland going to strike the robot with his swords. The robot didn't have much of a complex moveset, as it tried to keep close to Roland to rush him down, Roland clashing and trying to counter the robot with his own style of melee combat using his maces and swords. He'd win some, tie some, counter some, and even lose some, but as he fought, he gained level 2 and 3 emotion levels, gaining Urging and Blood. The first having that same heartbeat voice say "Don’t you want to see the end of this thrill that’s about to burst?", while the other sounded like an ocean of blood saying "Come inside. Get into this dreadful pool of blood.".

Roland was getting the upper hand on the robot at this time, but as he was getting it, the face changed to show a countdown. Roland knew what this meant as assassin bots that blew up existed in his world as well. As such he made his way back into his room, and jumped out his window, the glass of the window clinking on the street as Roland leaped to the adjacent building and ran up the short wall to reach the neighboring rooftop before retreating further from the motel complex as it went up in flames.

"I hope the others didn't get hit by that." Roland said. He then noticed the helicopters flying away from the scene, using the explosion to propel themselves away at great speed. He caught their logo, G Corp upon them, but only saw it for a second. Was this the same G corp Roland knew, or a different one? He weighed in on that, and figured it was another one as his G corp would've just thrown a singularity bomb on the motel if they really wanted to cause damage. He had seen an Arbiter use one of those firsthand, getting hit by it himself and it wasn't pleasant.
