Hugues seemed utterly unperturbed by his master's sudden outburst of laughter, flickering on the border of intangibility and corporeality. That she would dissuade fears of an attack this early on but refuse to make a personal appearance all the same...

"Very well," he said plainly, "Inconsequential as a doll's death may be in this war, I shall escort it..." he paused, "You, to the destination. A discerning eye upon the competition, should they make an appearance themselves, will aid me greatly in the coming battles." He listened to Alice's last comment intently, and seemingly dwelled upon it for a few moments before speaking in a particularly confident tone.

"Some are quick-witted enough that such a complete plan is already well made and set. I dare say I may be one of them." Blank as his helmet was, Alice could discern the presence of a smile beneath the black veils. As the doll trotted off, Rider followed suit, maintaining his spiritual form as he came upon the outside world. Dark as it was, a being as large and imposing as himself would catch every glint of moonlight there was and signal to every late-night civilian that he was present. An appearance would have to wait until he were in more secretive locales.

Approaching the Church, Hugues could immediately discern from the wealth of energy welling at its center that this was, indeed, his Master's destination; the 'Overseer's Headquarters'. Fitting that it was a church. Entering through the front gate, Hugues found himself muttering a few words to himself in prayer.

"Let this be a sign that God is nearby."

Besides the Servant before him, no others were present. Only a bird familiar had made itself known. Disappointing. He had hoped to see others for more reasons than simply to size them up. Hugues materialized with a sigh, arms crossing as a gentle blue flame rippled across the surface of his armor before flitting away into nothing.

Before the overly-dressed Ruler, Hugues could only eye him in silence, hoping that the doll indeed could speak for Alice. Was this the attire of an aristocrat in the modern era? It looked expensive... almost arrogantly designed, as if purposefully toting importance beyond the actual value of the materials.

"Have other Servants come to this Church yet?" he asked of Ruler, waiting for his master to finish speaking prior.
Hugues will follow his Master's lead, which I'm assuming is towards the Overseer's location.
I've had so little to do today I decided to make a title for the rp.

"Night is descending. Are you sure you wish to venture for the Overseer's location? It would be wise to assume others have come to the same idea, and may seek to take advantage of travelers." Hugues tone was cautious, clearly opinionated but supportive of her decisions regardless. The Rider hummed as she explained her distaste for the use of furthered Bounded Fields, and expressed a counter-point, relying on his proficiency in the hidden.

"I may not look it, but my logical Servant class would be more akin to an Assassin of sorts, believe it or not Master," he began, "Though I may be a Rider, my potential may yet lie in arts suited for espionage and traps, if only slightly thanks to my current class. I would like to think my knowledge of the shadows may afford further-away Bounded Fields from alerting enemy compositions from outright discovering our temple. Beyond Bound Fields, my powers may give us a different scouting advantage..." Hugues said.

More aware of her Servants parameters and skills, she would have noticed his Never Alone's nature even more clearly than another Servant or Mage could. Still in his spiritual form, his presence nevertheless alerted Alcie as to there being 'someone more' to Rider than initially observed. It felt as though there were two, three, four...? She could not truly discern the exact count of presences that drifted about her Servant, but there definitely did seem to be more presences than Rider alone.

And even as she came to realize it was a purposeful trick, that the presences were no more than a passive skill making itself apparent to her, there was something more to it she couldn't quite place. It was only until they appeared that it became clear. Two ghostly shapes drifted into her view, manifesting within her home out of thin air. They were faint, almost invisible, and were she familiar with their existence, would have understood them to be wraiths.

Their interference with the world was negligible, especially given that even their appearance was barely registering in reality, but present they were.

"My lieges are as much mine as they are yours, Master. Though they are few in this nation, they will serve you and I as readily as they can. For now, they may merely watch, but as their existences are faint, their presences will not easily be detected by another Master of Servant. They may not be a Bounded Field, but they can serve as watchful eyes all the same. So long as we remain in this temple, they may keep vigil outside. They cannot drift far from us, try as I might to control them at such distances." Hugues paused for a moment, and the wraiths disappeared fully from sight. Whether or not they had moved, Alcie could not tell.

"By your leave, we may head for the Overseer, if that is still your wish."
She'd never fought fought one before... No. No, Ambroise couldn't dwell on such things. She shook her mind free of the thought and built up determination in its place. She didn't need Jacques' call to get her started on the only sensible course of action; an unimpeded and drastic spellcast for the Rift Beast's backside. Surely, even if it were resistant to magic or her own skills in general, the sheer length of the channel would have to dent it somewhat... right? There was that doubt fluttering around her senses again.

Ambroise shook it away once again, lifting the tip of her sword to meet her gaze before starting what she was built to do; cast. A gentle wind picked up at her feet, swirling up around her form until it danced around her hair. The magic blur settled at the tip of her sword, and upon raising it higher, suddenly picked up in magnitude. Arcane energy funneled into the sword above, growing a sphere of crackling grey and yellow chaos. Twofold... Three fold... Tenfold...

As it continued, the magic bolt turned into a magical apocalypse hovering just over Ambroise's head. The orb enveloped her vision of the sky, undoubtedly visible to the Rift Beast if it had ended up turning around. Retracting the sword from just inside the sphere, she finished the arcane gathering and prepared to launch it for her target. Still crackling above her, it was only once she feigned a thrusting motion with thee sword towards the creature that it lurched into motion, at first moving an inch, and then darting into the distance like a lightning bolt.

"I would gladly tell you my name, Master, were my sense of caution weaker. Though my knowledge of your skills as a mage have yet to be illuminated, I am not thusly saying I do not trust your abilities... However, I must ere' on the side of caution, that my name can hold power being withheld, even to my Master," Hugues said plainly. Sheathing his sword, the Rider followed suit after Alice up the stairs, causing a blatant creaking on the boards as he ascended. His armor nearly made it impossible to fit through the door frame.

Hugues made note of each of the bounded fields Alice began to set up, seemingly surmising both their power and functioning by mere witnessing. As he followed, something seemed to be on his mind, though he withheld any questioning on whatever it was.

"Elucidate me as to your current plan of action if you will, Master. Though I am familiar with the activities of the quest for the Grail, I await your own suggestion before I give my own. You are the leader here, too, after all," he said, disappearing into a spiritual form after nearly knocking over a piece of furniture in the house.

"Defending your home is a good course of action for now," Hugues added, "I'd advise we place some further from the premises. If you could but give me a map of the locale, I might afford you some placement suggestions. Were I a Caster, I would aid you in their creation, but alas..."
And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling Masters and that Servant!
The posts are coming in hot.
@Asuras Hey fancy font. Typical for the Illuminati who control everything and have all the money!

Anyway, I would like to propose a toast to Hugues de Payens and the upcoming illuminati order. Long may they reign behind the scenes!

Long may they continue doing things unrelated to the HGW, because none of them know Hugues is back in town!
That was fun to write.
