In the middle of talking to the secuurity guard, several hospital staff, and some of the visitors were running outside. Danny panicked once again. What happened in there? Was Caty in trouble. While the security guard was now tending to the terrified civillians, Danny ran ahead inside. He nimble ran around crowds of people trying to leave the building, what happened in the short amount of time Danny had spent running trying to find an officer.

He soon found out, and it was a sight he didn't want to see. There was a pile of rubble, and that crazy gunman had picked up his siter by the throat, and applying pressure. The sight of this made made Danny mad. "Hey! Put her down you... monster?" Danny knew he would have work on his witty banter at some point. Now was not the time. With a balled fist, he ran torwards the man while screaming. "YAAAAAAAAAH!" And delivered a hard punch with more strengh than Danny realized he had. He knocked the man aside, and caused him to realse his grip on his sister.

For a moment, Danny looked at his own fist, and wondered what the heck was that? He had never punched anybody before, and now here he was knocking down people much bigger than himself. He offered his twin his hand. "Are you ok? Clearly not considering the mess... What the heck happened? And what did I just do?!"

So, what does Danny do next? Walk in with that NPC security guard and then...?

Caty told him to run outside and find the nearest officer. Caty said she would hold off their pursuer. Danny wasn’t sure how Danger Sense was going to save her against a man with a gun. Even if she could dodge the bullet, what was she going to do back? Still Danny nodded. He trusted his twin knew what she was doing. He then ran off torwards the hospital exit. While he didn’t zoom off at superspeed levels, he took off much faster than he ever had before.

Upon running out of the automatic double doors of the hospital, Danny looked to the left, then to the right. Hospitals usually had security guards stationed nearby. One of them had to be able to help. He soon found an officer patrolling the outside of the building. Danny immediately flagged him down to get his attention. “Sir! I need some help! Surprisingly, Danny was not out of breath from the running he had to do.

“What’s the problem kid?” The security guard responded.

Danny explained the whole situation to the officer. About how there was a man in black with a gun after them and everything.

So apparently his sister had developed the ability to sense danger, and all he got was perfect vision. Why did Caty get the cooler power? He felt naked without his glasses. There had to be more to it than that... Now wasn’t the time to speculate on that.

They needed to get out of this room. If there was an assassin after them, they really shouldn’t stay here and be sitting ducks. Caty wasn’t getting service on her phone, and neither was Danny. Caty suggested they go to the roof, it made sense, they might get service on the roof. It would also put any innocent bystanders out of harms way.

It felt bad leaving David all alone, but they didn’t exactly have a choice right now. Besides, if they stayed behind they would surely be shot, and he would be their next target. They ran for the nearest stairwell. They made up one flight of stairs, before Danny felt a ringing in his head. He looked up to see a man in an all black outfit and skull cap and in his hand was a gun with a silencer attached to the end. Was this the danger sense Caty had talked about earlier? It seemed he had gotten it too. The assassin aimed his gun down, and fired. Caty pushed him back, and jumped over the rail.

Danny followed suit, and jumped over the rail with surprising ease. Caty was a cheerleader. She did these kinds of things all the time. On the other hand, athletics were never Danny’s strong suit. Under normal circumstances, he would have struggled to get over the rail, and would surely be dead right now. He was shocked he had managed to do that in one swift motion like that. Was it adrenaline, Terregenis, or something else entirely, Danny wasn’t sure. He wasn’t going to question it now. “Great, with that guy after us, the roof is out of the question. What now?”

It had been three days since the Terregenesis incident at the park, and Danny's life had changed dramatically. Now he spent his days at the hospital with his sister. He had wanted to stay home with his parents, but the FBI thought it best if they were apart. Made sense, there was no reason to potentially put their mother and father in danger. Still, this whole thing was a miserable experience. They were hiding out from potential blowback from their former employers, but their friend was in a coma. The doctors didn't seem optimistic about his condition either. Even though he was happy to have survived the attack, if Danny was being honest with himself, he was kind of disappointed that he hadn't shown any signs of developing superpowers these past three days. That would have been a fascinating subject of study, and superpowers would have just been cool in general.

Danny was returning from the hospital cafeteria with lunch for himself and his sister. He entered the hospital room, and set the food on the table. "I'm back, and I brought lunch." He looked at David lying unconscious on the bed, and frowned. "Still no progress with him?" Then he noticed the bullet sized hole in the window, and Danny panicked. "Ohmygosh! What is that?! Were you attacked?! Are you alright?! What happened?!

Before Danny could get any answers to his questions, his vision suddenly went blurry, and he got a pounding headache. "Ugh." He put his glasses on top of his head, and rubbed his eyes. The headache quickly went away, but when he opened his eyes again, his vision was crystal clear. As if he still had glasses on. He put his glasses back on, and his vision was blurry again. He took his glasses off again."And do you have any explanation for why I suddenly developed perfect vision?" Eevn though he already had a suspicion what that cause was...

Yeah. I decided to leave it pretty open since I didn't know what you wanted to have him doing at that time. He could be in the room with them or getting lunch for him and Caty, etc.

Windfall ☄ A Character-driven Fantasy

Jason was glad he wasn’t the only one concerned about this situation. A tall man armed with a sword also got involved with the scuffle, and wanted to know what was going on. The girl at the center of all of this was red in the face. Jason didn’t know what she was feeling right now. Probably nervous, considering she was surrounded by strange men.

The two strange men tried to talk themselves out of this. They claimed they weren’t doing anything wrong. But isn’t that what someone who was doing something wrong would say when they’d been found out? The way this guy so casually touched the girl he didn’t know didn’t exactly read innocent in Jason’s eyes.

Then the other man, who was missing several teeth, some of which were replaced with crystals, got in between them all. He tried to talk his way out of this mess, and convince them that they would lose their place in line or whatever. All that did was just make Jason more suspicious of these two in all honesty. What were they trying to get away with?

The farmer rolled his eyes. “Yeah... I don’t know about that... Jason’s free hand sparked with electricity, and he fired some lightning at the man with his hand on the girl’s shoulder. “Girl, run!” Then he turned his attention back to the strange men. Ha! betcha didn’t expect that from a farm boy!” He boasted with a smug grin on his face.
