Why is it always such a struggle to be involved? Are my characters just not really that interesting?

I was just about to reply to Sjin, but then I had chores and I forgot :[

Since you can't always count on having a bunch of power to draw from, most magic uses precision to achieve it's results, instead of brute force.
Let's say he uses magic to turn off the lights, he can do it in a few ways.
*starts counting out on fingers.*
One. He can compress the air above or below the switch and release it in a focused burst to move it.
Two. Mess with the gravitational effects on the switch to make it move.
Three. Bend space to make it closer.
And so on.
But all of these require at lease a decent amount of power to achieve, and oftentimes magic users are targeted right after they're done with giant spells. So if he get's attacked after a huge experiment the next day, he's not likely to have much energy left, and the energy that he used to turn off that light could deflect a bullet or create a distraction, giving him time to live and recover.
It's the reason why most of the careless magic users are dead, because they aren't prepared for such situations, making them powerless and physically unable to protect themselves.

That's a really clever answer. It's just that, well, turning off a light takes basically no energy. A little bit of telekinesis to flip the switch and bam. You're scaling up a very small phenomenon too much.

Why's that?

I don't really want to, you know, break anybody.

Still can't edit after that one guy issue.

Ah. David can give you editing privileges if you have an account.
<Snipped quote by Balance>

Sounds useful and risky at the same time.

It's usually not risky... for me, at least. I have to be more careful around others, though.
I thought you guys said the wiki was fixed

What do you mean? Is it broken somehow?

When i said i was suck halfway through the floor, i meant that i had fallen into the floor, up to my stomach.

So it's like the mutation of the object's natural state?

Basically, yeah. I speed up gradual processes and apply a chaotic tinge of randomness to it all to get more random effects. And I usually execute my powers with instruments.
<Snipped quote by Balance>

How are Ruby and Soren's powers outlined, anyway? I don't see limits of what they entail.

Harmonic chaos speeds up gradual change, with a level of randomness to it, kind of like the mutation idea Nix mentioned. Harmonic order extrapolates and/or applies patterns from and to objects. Ruby can easily find patterns and can cause processes to follow patterns which generally make sense (there can be a bit of a chaotic tinge depending on how complex the pattern is, but that takes more thinking).

EDIT: Oh, and Soren can also manipulate probability, as you know. Or, not exactly manipulating probability, but I already explained it to you and it's too complex for me to lay down in words right now.
<Snipped quote by Balance>

Well, that does explain it, but, harmonic chaos?

Chaos with a tinge of order--part of the balance between chaos and order. It's based on the idea of change. Generally, it involves speeding up natural processes, but it can take other forms.

Um... ok...
*Looks a bit weirded out.*

I'm the Lord of Chaos. Strange stuff is basically my shtick, except if I'm using Harmonic Chaos.
