It's like how you need a variety of foods to grow. You can make some of the materials you need yourself, in your own body, but getting extra boosts helps you a lot. Fertilisers provide extra boosts of nutrients; some chemicals can even get the plant to grow faster just because.

That's exactly what I was saying. That is your reasoning and David's, the reasoning given two years ago when we decided on a "don't show/keep it vague" allowance.
But you know there's such a thing as "neutral," right? Just because they don't oppose something doesn't mean they approve of it or agree with it. Vagueness is your friend.

it is true that I never specifically make light of such things in opposition or approval in real life; I find it likely enough that none of my characters would do the same
