Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

Would you look at that! Two people from my first ever attempt at running a Pokemon RP: @Zarkun@LuckyBlackCat. I'm honored to have you both on board. I look forward to seeing your character sheets. :)

@Cerces22 I hope you don't mind. I pushed Liz's timeline along to May the 1st. You mentioned in your post ...

The men in suits want her to help make trainers in this world to go on missions. They told her she was not the only trainer from an other world of Pokemon to show up.

This implies that the end of your post takes place at a time when she can speak with and understand people, but Pokemon universe characters have to learn our language first. So I kind of took it on myself to fill in this gap.

The Ides of March, Catherine "Circe" Lin on route to D.C.

... She entered Maryland and the radio got fuzzy and faded out. Damn, there goes the good music. She thought to herself, as she blindly flipped through the channels hunting for a decent rock channel. After a few hours she finally arrived in D.C. as her phones GPS directed her to the training site and parked. After showing her I.D. and checking in she was shown a private room, and was told to wait.

Circe's one bed hotel room was nothing to write home about. But of course, given the grand scale of these worldwide tests, even a country as developed as the United States couldn't be expected to provide luxuries for EVERY participant. Besides, she would only be in this room for one night. Tomorrow, she and ninety nine other participants would be put through the ringer.

But for now, she had nothing to do but rest. Details of the exams would be explained to everyone bright an early. Her instructions, "Be on time for an 8AM auditorium style meeting at the governemnt training complex located just across the street from the hotel."

January 1st Liz Freshly Discovered Ruins
...She's now on her way to what they call a training center in a place called Washing A Ton Dee Dee to better learn more about this planet Earth. She had not heard from Rin since she arrived her, she couldn't even get a signal. The men in suits want her to help make trainers in this world to go on missions. They told her she was not the only trainer from an other world of Pokemon to show up.

Liz was a quick learner, but she was no genius level Pokemon Professor. From the day she was picked up (January 3rd) till this very day (March 2nd), she had been working to learn this "English" language. The key was speaking slowly and using hand gestures.

"One hundred." Ronald spoke very clearly and steady but not in a patronizing way. He had been Liz's main language coach these last two months. The two had developed something of a freindship even. "There will be one hundred canidates each day." The two of them sat in lobby chairs on the third floor of the training facility's main office building. They sipped on coffee and watched the people below, especially the people checking into the hotel across the street.

@Zarkun@Cerces22

I've added about 15 new families of Pokemon today. Here's how that effects areas where your characters are located.

Philidelphia (Circe)
  • Caterpie [Common: Near parks and green spaces]
  • Pidgey [Common: In urban or suburban areas]
  • Psyduck [Rare: Occasionally on or near rivers]
  • Ledyba [Common: Near parks and green spaces]
  • Wabufet [Common: Away from large crowds]

Idaho (As mentioned by @Zarkun, and I'm using the center of Idaho)
  • Paras [Common: In forests and parks]
  • Shinx [Rare: Hiding in secluded elevated areas]
  • Pachirisu [Common: Anywhere with trees]

FYI, I won't be online much for the rest of today or all of tomorrow.

"Hello, Catherine "Circe" Lin?? This is Professor Oak, we have reviewed your application, we want to select you to take the test to become a Pokemon trainer!!" Circe's cigarette fell from her mouth as she was given the details on when she was leaving for the test.

Their phone call was short and rehearsed. In fact, it wasn't actually Professor Oak at all but a very well made recording, which gave her a quick congradulations and a simple request that she check her email for more information.

Inside her email she would find a message with simple instructions. There would be twenty oppritunities to take the exams, any day (Monday through Friday) from March 2nd to March 27th. Since she lived on the East coast, her testing sight would be a federal agent training camp located in Washington D.C. At the bottom of the email there were even instructions on how she could be reimbursed for any travel expenses.

The ball was now in her court. All she had to do was choose a day, and get there on time. Check in would be from 2pm till 8pm the day before her exams, and they would start bright and early at 8am. There were very little details on the exams themselves. Only a warning that she dress comfortably and study hard.

"Study hard"??? That was strange. What exactly was she supposed to study, it didn't say.
@Balthazar007

Like I said she was off training her new team members, a champ always has to be at their best, she wanted to switch her team up a bit and was out with them when she was taken, I want her to fill more of a Brock type roll than a trainer role you know what I mean??

I think I get what you mean. However, once we get past the bootcamp phase, she will most likely be the leader of a team with two new graduate trainers. (I don't see her being one of the antagonistic solo characters).

If anything, I see @Zarkun's character going solo before yours. He seems like the type that might not want to lead a team, because they would slow him down or something.
Right, right, I know. Latias was in the bio. I'll look into what Chi sight normally means in a similar Sci-Fi setting and also, don't blame you on Garchomp. He's a powerhouse.

Awesome, I'll be on the lookout for your two characters!
Thanks I never realized that they were consider psuedo-legendary, I just thought that they were rare encounters lol

Well don't overlook this part of that wiki page...

Pseudo-legendary Pokémon is a fan term commonly used to refer to...

The key words there are "fan term", meaning that it's a commonly debated issue.

But this reveals another valuable lesson. If you ever have a question about Pokemon theory, refer to Bulbapedia. That's where I look before making up my mind.
@Balthazar007

I am going to bring Hephaestus, a female Snorlax Adephagia and a male Duskull named Hades. She would never have left Monferno since he was her first pokemon, and the other two she was training when brought over

So that's 3 Pokemon right?

Hephaestus ♂ (Monferno) Lv 30
Adephagia ♀ (Snorlax) Lv 30
Hades ♂ (Duskull) Lv 30

And to be clear, you are electing to NOT fill your other three slots?

If this is correct, give this post a like, and I will change your character stats in the 0th IC post accordingly.
If not, let me know. :)
Sounds good. I'm still unclear of the standing of Absol and Lucario as pseudo-legendaries, because Absol can be caught a dozen times in Ruby/Saphire and Lucario has an egg form and can also be caught. So yeah, just confusion you can't really help since it's not your fault XD

I'll be honest though, surprised you didn't ask for more info, like why Latias and why he has a special ability.

To be clear, the only thing I've approved of is the transfer of these six Pokemon:
Gallade
Absol
Garchomp
Kabuto
Skarmory
Lucario

I only saw Latios in your biography, which is a neat touch, but does not apply to this RP. As for your character's own special abilitity. It's going to have to fit in the relm of human possibility. So magically seeing other people's chi is going to have to be dropped or at least changed into something more realistic.

As for Pseudo-Legendaries, I'm using this standard: bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pseud…
Lucario and Absol are not on that list. I wasn't worried about them. Your Garchomp was the one I was debating on.
