Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

So, as far as contests go. Jimmal is not where you will find West Septoh's official contest hall. That is actually found in town/city number 9 (not yet named). But, despite that, there is a large stadium in Jimmal where they host events such as contests and tournaments for cash prizes and more.

Also, being a city, there could definitely be a festival of some kind, but that would probably not start until Friday evening (since that's when most festivals begin in real life). So any festival idea, would probably have to wait till tomorrow in the game time.

So what I propose is that tomorrow (Friday in the role play). Is the first day of a contest focused festival. So you'll need to register today to be in the line-up tomorrow. This will be an entire weekend event. Of course, if Indy gets eliminated early in the festival, then you don't have to stay for the whole festival.

Also, besides registering Indy for the contest, you guys could also check out the large temples and market places. While you're doing that, I can bring the book's purpose into play.

I've adjusted the time to account for a little over 6 hours of camping on the way here. So it is now 11am when you arrive in Jimmal. So you have all day, to get registered for the contest/festival and sight see around the city.

PS: You two could probably take an hour to shower up and change clothes at the Pokemon Center. You have been walking for ten hours, even if it has been cold outside and you haven't sweat too much.
@jeroukoo

So I looked up Casper Wyoming, and as far as I can tell, they have no Subway system. I incorporated that into my post.

Also, I updated the map to show your current location in respect to the Pokemon Center that I mentioned.
@jeroukoo

As Malcolm and his Pokemon wandered through the streets of Casper Wyoming, it became painfully clear that this town was too small to have a Subway system. All they had for public transit was a bus system. Sure there were a few Subway sandwich shops, but that wasn't in the cards.

Towards the center of town, they spotted the local Poke Center. Though all of Malcolm's travels, he had seen many Pokemon Centers and smelled the delicious food they offered to trainers for free. But until this moment, he had always stayed away from them. After all, they were only for trainers right? Or perhaps they would help him out regardless?

The thought had never been more tempting.

So I just realized something about your last post Pretydrops. You never mentioned stopping to camp anywhere. Therefore, I have passed the time accordingly, and you two have arrived in Jimmal City at 4:45 in the morning. YIKES!!!

My guess is that Margo's answer to "What should we do next?" would probably be "Sleep!!!"

Unless you want to add that you all did set up camp somewhere on the way here. Then I will adjust the time.
@jeroukoo

March 2nd in Casper Wyoming was a cold Saturday, no doubt about it. It had snowed earlier that week, and it barely ever got above freezing. This morning in particular was as cold as it had been in a while, around 15'F.

It was a good thing Malcomlm was no armature to dealing with life as a wanderer, including cold weather. But perhaps this was a little more than he bargained for.
@jeroukoo

Oops, my bad. Given your actual location, here are the Pokemon within 50 miles of your location:

Diglett: Found in grasslands and mountainous areas, away from the city.
Geodude: Found in the mountains.
Tauros: Found in grassy areas.
Sudowoodo: Found in the mountains.
Misdreavus: Found at night causing mischief.
Cacnea: Found in dryer areas with little vegetation.
Solrock: Found away from the city, during the day, often in the mountains.
Tropius: Found away from the city, during the day, anywhere but rare.
Shinx: Found in the mountains.
Patrat: Found in grassy flatlands.
Bouffalant: Found in grassy flatlands.
Rufflet: Found in the mountains, but can be spotted anywhere.
Bunnelby: Found in the mountains and in the grasslands.
Hawlucha: Found anywhere away from the city, but a rare sight indeed.
Salandit: Found in the mountains, but at lower altitudes near the base.
Jangmo-o: Found in the mountains, hiding well and far from human civilization.

Just change that Pidgey sighting to a Rufflet, and you'll be golden.
@prettydrops

Did you post this in the OOC section on purpose to better work on it? Or did you do that on accident? Lol
@jeroukoo

Alright, I've made my opening post. That first IC post will be home base for knowing what day it is during the roleplay. Also, the Google Map will be updated with information regarding where your character is at. Zoom in on your character's location to see things in the area.

As for Pokemon, these are the Pokemon you can find within a 50 mile radius from your current location:
(This includes their evolutionary tree.)

Weedle: Found in wooded areas, not so much in public parks.
Pidgey: Found pretty much anywhere: parks, fields, town squares, etc...
Psyduck: Found near the waters edge. They're shy and hard to approach.
Ghastly: Found at night whenever there aren't many people around, especially in cemeteries.
Wabbuffet: A rare sight in the woods.
Snubull: Found in the woods, though they are a commonly seen, because a lot of people have them.
Zigzagoon: Found in the woods, near suburban areas where they occasionally pick through people's trash.
Shuppet: Found at night whenever there aren't many people around, especially in cemeteries.
Shinx: A rare sight in the woods.
Carnivine: Found in the woods near the water's edge.
Drillbur: Found in fields and woods. They shy away fast.
Scraggy: Found in the city at night causing mischief.
Klink: Found anywhere in the city, but they are quick to run.
Litwick: Found at night, especially near old historical sites.
Clauncher: Found at the water's edge.
Klefki: Found in the city, but they are quick to run.
Togedemaru: Found in the city.

If you're looking for something in particular, let me know. Otherwise, go ahead and post about what your character is doing in the area. That will give me inspiration for things to add to the area.

Sorry for the late app! Things piled up. I have my character relatively older and that his past is that he has traveled throughout the USA, so if any pokemon are not near Wyoming, I would have him just get them from his travels. Hope everything is ok!

So there is nothing wrong with your character, but there are some things you should know about your Pokemon. Because I've already placed Pokemon around the world, I already know where your three Pokemon could be found naturally.

Zubat can be found in Eastern parts of USA, so you're fine there. He was probably found at night or in a cave.

As for Abra and Elekid/Electabuzz, those are not native to the USA, not even North America for that matter. Abra can be found in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Elekid can be found in Central Africa and Eastern Asia.

You don't have to change anything. Malcom's father could have caught the Elekid on his travels as a trainer. And Abra probably has an interesting but sad story, probably involving being left behind by a former trainer.

With all that said, I'm going to make an opening post in the IC section. Then you can begin.
